Social Security Administration: what do users think?
J South: Quick and helpful service also the building was very clean!
Suzette Sherwood: Not answering the phone the right way
Jim Clark: WHENEVER I'VE BEEN THERE IT'S TAKEN RIGHT AROUND 10 TO 30 MINUTES SO I ALWAYS ALLOW TIME FOR MY NEXT APPOINTMENT I USUALLY COUNT ON AN HOUR OF BEING THERE BUT IT NEVER CAME TO THAT
BillieJoe Finnigan: The people are so kind and caring about there clients situation and they do there best to help them figure out a solution to there problem thank you very much
Margaret Kerrigan: I posted this on the other Flint SS office address, but it isn't popping up properly, so I'll also post my review here. I had very impressive experiences with a few of the employees at the Flint Social Security Administration Office located at 1149 Robert T Longway Blvd. Flint, Michigan 48503, which is at the corner of Robert T. Longway & Southbound Chavez Dr. across from Holiday Inn Express. -- My 5-star review relates to the specific individuals that I mention below, in which I feel honored to have come in contact with these individuals. The most recent positive experiences were with Mr. Buck and Mrs. Shelley, and in the past Phillip Bartholomew has been extremely helpful and effective. There is also a friendly security guard in the lobby who is always helpful and he was especially comforting during an incident of mistaken identity. Mr. Buck and Mrs. Shelley's professionalism, knowledge, perspective, communication, and eagerness to help were outstanding, and they noticeably tried to do the right thing regarding challenging issues with social security. I can understand that working at the social security office can be very challenging, especially given that many times the office is dealing with vulnerable people with disabilities and more. Some employees handle their positions better than others, and both of these people effectively handle their jobs, - but they also went above and beyond to handle and fix mistakes made by other employees, and actually not only did their jobs, but they also handled the jobs of other employees that 'purposely' ignored their job for months. I am the social security payee for a severely mentally ill individual. Given this, there are significant behavioral issues to handle, to say the least. These dedicated individuals, Mr. Buck and Mrs. Shelley went above and beyond to help me straighten out situations that needed handling, despite the overload and pressures of work, especially during Covid. They could relate to the situation I was in and pushed through challenges quickly. Both of them were warm and friendly, willing to work to handle the situation fast and effectively. In the past, at the same office, Phillip Bartholomew has been helpful and effective. He joins the above-mentioned employees that have good communication skills, communicating clearly, and who are effective in their work. They all did what they said they would do. Each of them listened and handled their positions properly, with respect for their valuable services, and remained strong and positive during difficult times. I appreciate and respect all of them, and I am grateful for their help..
Tim Johnson: the staff at the carpenter rd office was very friendly and helpful on the phone helping me with my questions and fixing a problem. very good service!
Tinka Kelly: This place is disgusting and the staff is rude and NOT helpful at all they like 2 brag that they live in the trashy part of flint missing teeth bad hygiene just like the rest of the drug addict from the state streets they brag about.
Teresa Farley: Very helpful and friendly!! At government agency that does it's job professionally and makes you still feel like you mattee and with dignity still.
Courtney Sledge: The staff is friendly. They try hard to meet your needs and answer your questions.
Kimberly Ross: Been here several times and received wonderful service. Workers are very knowledgeable and very helpful.
Lisa Hampton: Very clean and never jam packed, and I'm always right in and out. Very profeciant.
Flint City Pee: It's faster now days
Pamela Helms: These folks have always been very helpful
Jessie Griffin: Depending on who you get, these people can rock some socks.
Steph: They are a hot mess
Pastor Andre L. Williams Sr.: Great Place to Work
Kathy Adams: My experience was great. They were very helpful with signing up. Thank you!!!!
Andrew McDonald: It needs a two. Waiting is not fun. The "Guy at the desk"is a security guard and it's not his job to hand out lollipops. Most of the people he deals with every day are frustrated and irritable or have some physical or mental disability. I find this office much more agreeable than a secretary of state for instance.
Tonia Maitland: I own an Assisted Living Home and it has taken them TEN months to get the pay that was due to the home for one resident. The first lady who waited on me in June 2016 lied through her teeth and told me they do representative payee by phone now, go home they will call you tomorrow. (After a 4 hour wait) I knew she was wrong and told her so but she wouldn't help. Just wanted to push it off on someone else (lazy) I've been doing this for 22 yrs and never seen such incompetent people working at Soc Sec. Finally after hundreds of calls and visits, got a hold of a supervisor who couldn't believe what she was seeing, pay had been there for 10 months but never mailed. Ridiculous.
Kay Kelley: Called on a Wednesday at 12:15 pm....wasn't allowed to talk to anyone...just given about 15 names and their extensions. Then online I discovered they were already closed. Closed on a Wednesday????? Why?????
Aaron Hyatt: Phone system is obnoxious I pressed 0 to talk to an agent at the main menu and a computer thing came on and asked my name SS# and birthday explaining how the phone system can gather this info now under the Social Security information act. The phone system never said why it was collecting this info and I assumed it was to help the agent serve quicker, boy was I supprised when I was told my Medicare card was reported lost or stolen and I just applied for a new one thats on its way with no way to undo this. Then I asked if I could talk to an agent and was told it would be 40 mins then hung up on. The automated system is horrible at recognizing speach to as if it hears any noise it will get confused or pick the wrong thing and not tell you what it is upto as above. If you can't get an automated answer service to work properly without making so many mistakes, you need a human receptionist.
