Middleton Berry Farm: what do users think?
Tonya Walter: On a whim we decided to find a local berry farm to pick fresh strawberries for jam. Google led us to Middleton Berry Farm and we were not disappointed. It was a busy summer morning when we pulled up to the rustic farm. Rows of fresh strawberries greeted us. Crates were provided for picking (or you can bring your own containers as well.) The pricing was fair and while the farm was busy (it was the height of strawberry season) and the checkout line was long, it went smoothly and quickly. The staff on hand were friendly and efficient and the farm is very family friendly and welcoming to people of all ages. I'll definitely be back next strawberry season!
Jordan S: Middleton Berry Farm is a truly local, sustainable, and environmentally conscious farm. Their raspberries and strawberries are delicious, and the U-pick experience is fun for the whole family. Their popularity was grown over the years, and what once seemed like a well-kept secret now has quite a following. Their reputation is well deserved, as one of the remaining bastions of local, non-industrialized agriculture in this area.
Melanie Czekaj: Really cute farm. Easily accessible. A bit more stringent than other berry farms. Maybe not the best pick for kids. The lady who was running it made us a feel a bit uncomfortable. She will show your kids how to pick with both hands and how to do it which is nice. we watched our kids well, but she kept going up to my responsible husband telling him to make sure they use both hands. She brought a branch with her from the ground as if she was accusing them of breaking it and they clearly didnt as we were w them the entire time. I just found it strange-asked him ehy she kept going up to him and he didnt know why lol. They also dont let you eat any berries due to laws which i get, but Ive never been to a berry farm, which is many, in which they dont. She wasnt mean just strict. It was fun and nice, but im not sure we will go back to this one as that did not feel very welcoming or warm as we have experienced elsewhere. Wish this business the best!
Perrier Paul: It’s 2022, update your website with accurate times and dates. No one has time to drive 45+ minutes to discover it’s CLOSED for the season. I Should not have to call every day to confirm if you’re open. It’s not even July and your farm is closed.
Tracy Kehoe: Very friendly staff. Although the season is nearly over and berries are a bit small. They are very tasty though.
Kim McGinnis: Was my first visit here, had a great experience! The berries were absolutely delicious, and I got 34 pounds out of the one section of row I was assigned!! I do a lot of canning and preserving so it was awesome to get that quantity without having to pick rows upon rows. There is a phone number you can call that will give you the most up-to-date information about picking, so CALL FIRST!! It’s normal to have to call a u-pick place first to check hours and availability before going… It shouldn’t come as a surprise to people but I guess it still does. Some of the berries were on the small side, but some of them were absolute WHOPPERS. Strawberries are naturally a very small berry anyway, people get so used to those giant ones at the store and forget that they’re not supposed to be like that at all!!! Even the small ones that I picked had 10,000 times the flavor of even the in season organic ones at the grocery store. If it’s red it’s ripe & tasty!I’ll definitely be coming back during raspberry season, and even though I don’t need more strawberry jam I’ll be back next year.
Jenny Gillman: went there today and did the strawberry picking we enjoyed it. Tons if extremely delicious strawberries and the customer service was impeccable! I had the honor of meeting the owner who was super kind! looking forward to going back for more strawberries, then raspberries end of August and the flowers to follow.Highly recommend!!
Naresh Talluri: It’s a nice place
Abigail Gatzka: Very nice berry picking area. They were very conscientious about cleanliness in the berry patch, which I appreciated and we found many berries even when a lot of people were out picking. I will definitely be returning.
Jane Emery: Best berries , great people!
Cristine N.: I love picking my own produce and am very happy that I happened to stumble across this place. It was obvious from the moment I arrived on the property that they run their berry farm like a well oiled machine. I know this is going to sound a little strange; however, every employee I came in contact with during my visit actually seemed genuinely happy to be there working. The field was loaded with big, beautiful strawberries and I can't wait to go back.
Jill Green: Great, as usual. Thxs for the yummy jam I was able to make with my daughter & her daughter. Michigan berries are the best... ;)
Amber Garland: We had a wonderful time picking strawberries for the first time. The rows had plenty of great berries and the staff was very friendly. The way everything was set up was easy too. We will definitely be back!
Joe Aylward: Awesome experience. The strawberries are really good. Great for families and anyone else. It is a fun, relaxing and just a different experience that I highly recommend. The season is short so put it on your calendar and don't miss out.
Melissa F.: So glad Middletons never fully went away. So many good memories have been made there when I was a little girl and now making new ones with my little girl. They have family sections and for those without kids so it's an enjoyable experience for everyone. Great selection of strawberries this year!
Isaac Zager: Good place to go with the family or by yourself. People there are friendly and nice. Prices are great too.
jeff iid: Gotta love
Kathleen jones: Flowers are always lovely😃
Nancy Crosby: I took my grandson last year to pick and the berries were small, and not very plentiful. On the other hand there was a single couple that got to pick in a different area and their berries were, beautiful. I'll try one more time with them
Heidi Lyons: We went strawberry picking. The berries were excellent. You have to keep an eye on when they are opened but worth the wait.
Sun Flower: Went strawberry picking and had an amazing time
