NR Walker: Don’t use these guys to dig out an existing pond. We had a half acre pond that we wanted cleaned out. We called Schlicht Ponds to do it because they said they would pull permits. They didn’t, they said we didn’t need any. When we had our county drain commission come out to give us a permit to build an outbuilding he reported us to EGLE because we destroyed a wetland. Not good. They also knocked down a bunch of trees and saplings from around the pond (which we wanted) and buried them in the pond dregs (not what we wanted). How the heck are we supposed to get them back out and get rid of them? It’s a huge mess! To top it all off the owner is a serious hot head and started yelling at my husband when he asked when they were going to be done. Avoid these guys; there are better companies. Carol Smith: If I could I wouldn't give them any stars. Dave came down to look over the area where we wanted a pond and he tells you what you can do not what you want. He doesn't listen. It sure is a easy $199.00 for them. I would never refer anyone to them! I would think twice about dealing with them.

Scott Janiski: I hired TTR excavating to dig me a pond and am very dissatisfied. I had to hire another company to come fill in the pond dug in the wrong area to close to the road. I was told by the owner of the TTR Co. that my pond just needed to be 50 ft away from the road and 50 ft off my neighboring property line...well he left it 35 feet off the property line not the 50 it was supposed to be.And had no idea that there is a road right if way that is 33 ft from the center of the road into my ditch and yard THEN the pod needed to be 50 ft off the road from that line. I was contacted within 2 days after he finished digging that I needed to stop all work on the pond until I paid for a meeting with the township ($450). All along durning my meetings with the owner of the pond company he simply said, "Its easier to beg for forgiveness, than to ask for permission " referring to getting permits before digging, he did not offer to get permits but said I could do it after he dug. Well today 4 months later and after staring at a huge mess in my front yard I am paying another contractor to fill in my $5000 mistake. Do not use this company, research and check with 2 or 3 companies and dont be talked into not getting your permits FIRST.Learn from my mistake dont make your own mistake of hiring this company.

Unless you have it signed and in writing and are ok with potentially having to make use of legal efforts to find satisfaction a wise person would take no communication from this company as trustworthy.

From the early stages where Dave communicated the entire process, even getting back to me after business hours when needed, to the day the work was being done, explaining step by step. Top notch. Same goes for the team members in the office dealing with the entire permit process and also the expertise of the guys in the field running machinery and setting up erosion control measures flawlessly.
