Al Serra Auto Plaza: what do users think?
Madi Fritsma: My boyfriend and I were in a tight spot and needed a car bad, so we went to the Subaru of Grand Blanc. Unfortunately, it has been one of the worst experiences I’ve had. At first they were super nice, and helpful, but when the car that we bought had issues and a failing engine after one day of bringing it home, then the problems began. For starters, our salesperson never answered us, unless we were constantly asking him for updates on what was going on. We were met with radio silence. The responses that we did get back were vague, and most times didn’t answer our questions.The solution to our problem was to bring the car back and trade it in for a different one. My boyfriend was told to send a screenshot of the car he found of the Subaru website and they’d hold it for us. My boyfriend did just that, and once again he got no response for 5 days, and when we went to finally go pick up the car, we were told that the one we were looking at had sold, and we were back to square one. At this point, we’ve been dealing with this mess for just over 2 weeks.Looking back at it, we would’ve had better luck and a better car going to Facebook Market place. We’ve lost hundreds of dollars due to this mistake as the two of us are struggling to make it to work because we are down a car, and on different work schedules, on top of going through a full tank of gas in the car we DO have in less than 3 days.I do appreciate the efforts that were put in to fix the mistake while we were at the dealership, but communication when we weren’t face-to-face was ridiculous. Apologies won’t make up for selling a dud car, or the money & time that we’re lost because of this mistake.Overall, Subaru of Grand Blanc has lied to us multiple times, and I’m extremely disappointed in this dealership, and the treatment that we’ve received. It goes without saying that I will not be coming back anytime soon.

Arthur Macarthur: Never been so unhappy. Bought my 2017 Ram on December 27th. Took it in the other day for its first oil change and tire rotation since purchasing the vehicle. Al Serra then tells me that they are refusing to rotate the tires because the tires are in such bad condition and BOTH front axel boots and ripped and slinging grease everywhere. Al Serra claims to have "certified technicians" look over their vehicles before selling them but failed to catch any of this? My tire are so bad that they are unsafe for the road but I guess safe enough to sell to hard working individuals. This is absolutely ridiculous and I will be letting everyone know about your shady operations✌
Joseph Kennedy: If I could rate this dealership negative stars I would. I have a history with Al Serra from multiple car sales and purchase to oil changes and repairs. Not too long ago, I was inquiring about getting a new vehicle but due to the cost and how much I loved my current lease I decided to buy it. When I decided not to buy a new vehicle the sales rep suddenly lost interest in actually caring about my purchase and it felt like they just wanted the paperwork done and to push me out the door because they weren’t making as much money from the sale. After I refused to buy a new truck, they thought they would increase the sale by trying to punch warranty’s and other protection plans down my throat. I told my sales rep 6 times in 10 minutes I did not want a warranty but I was ignored and the warranty was offered again. After the sale was finalized, a month later I get a notice from the financing company saying the dealership never sent my insurance forms and they were purchasing insurance on my behalf. Total lack of care and it showed the customer did not matter.More recently, I purchased an electronic brake controller for my truck from another dealership. I inquired about purchasing from Al Serra first (as I do all my business here) but they had it on back order and I needed the part. Al Serra also wanted to do the purchase, install and flash at their dealership. I told them I wanted to do the install to save myself money because I wasn’t going to pay for labor on something I could very easily install myself. After going rounds with Al Serra, I found LaFontaine in Fenton had the part in stock so I purchased from them. I installed the part in a matter of an hour or less but I needed my truck system flashed so everything would work as it should. I contacted Al Serra because they are very close to me and told them I needed to get the part I installed flashed. Guest services told me it could be done no problem. When I was transferred to someone in Services, they told me they refused to do it because I did not buy and get the part installed with them. What an honest joke. That’s no different than someone buying a part from another dealership and it breaks and they take it to Al Serra to fix it. I’m sure Al Serra would fix it no problem because there is a lot of money involved in the deal. I made sure I told the service rep my vehicles will no longer be serviced by Al Serra. The way customers are treated here is unbelievable and some employees are very rude.All said and done, I contacted another dealership that I didn’t even buy the part from and they offered to flash it no problem. At first I thought maybe it was just the service rep with a hurt ego because I didn’t buy the part through him but after the multiple experiences I have had with Al Serra, I will gladly drive miles out of my way to find another one that actually takes pride in customer service. Do yourself a favor and keep driving by this dealership and go to the next one, you’ll thank me later.
