The members are very supportive of each other. I joined to learn how to fly. I received excellent instruction. I intend to remain a member because it is far more economical that owning my own. Having been flying now for a few years, I haven't seen anything that compares.

T Denton: GFPA is an excellent organization! The not for profit club is dedicated to transparent operation and maintenance of the fleet. Every member treats the planes as their own because of fractional ownership. I learned to fly with instructors that are members themselves and not just here as a career stop. Flying out of Flint Bishop airport prepares you to fly anywhere and handle the radio with confidence. There is no greater sense of freedom than being able to go wherever you desire for a lunch across the state or a weekend at Mackinac Island. All of which is reachable in two hours or less. At GFPA you make friends and join an outfit dedicated to safe flying.

Used the instructors available through the the club to obtain my instrument rating at a lower cost than would have otherwise been possible. Tom Hammond: I was a member and on the Board of Directors of the GFPA for 10 years. In my opinion, a flying club is the best and least expensive way to learn to fly and/or as an alternative to owning your own aircraft. GFPA members ARE owners - not renters. All of the aircraft are meticulously maintained and very well-equipped for both VFR and IFR operations.
