Genesee County Animal Control: what do users think?
Molly Wittig: I volunteer here regularly and it’s a good clean shelter. Many adoptable animals. Mostly pitbull mixes
barbara baryo: Call to report a cat possibly hurt under my deck. Officer scolded me because he was told the animal was hit by a car and on the side of the road. The officer was incredibly dismissive and rude, blaming me for the poor communication from his own dispatch.
Melissa Gramer: Absolutely wonderful meet Sully my new dog from GCAC love him
Robin: People here were very polite and helpful.
Kathy Capling: I have been trying since Oct 2021 to get them to take in a cat. They don't answer their phone. Leave message they don't call back. Frank the cat loves people including kids but he doesn't get along with other cats. Frank is also an excellent hunter would make a good barn cat
Peggy Hodge: Why post they don't do anything any way.
Christina Bergh: They don’t care about the animals or the ppl
Tina Castle: Love This Place Thier Awesome I Thank Them For Their Service And Sacrifice Amen
Heather Nadeau: I brought home orphamis prime about 4-5 years ago I always wanted to tell the family how greatful I am and let them know how safe he is how loved he is and we hope your safe healthy the paperwork said they had hardship and we always worried about them
Jason Ross: Everyone was very helpful and brought in numerous dogs to see who the best fit in our family was. Would certainly go back for another adoption.
Ron Blake: Well maintained great staff
Aricka Truchan: What a great experience! My dad rescued his dog from here. Wonderful staff.
Glenda Dixon: Wonderful place! Excellence with the animals! They really care!
Anastasia Durrenberg: Staff seem very friendly other thing I didn't like was I couldn't bring my puppy in because they claim to have parvo. But yet again very thankful but I was stoped before walking in with my fur bby.
Amanda Barry: This animal control ALLOWS dogs to freeze to death. Dogs can be left outside on a chain all day without shelter in 2Feet of snow. They don’t have water that is not frozen and nowhere dry to lay. A dog was found today frozen to death.
Nikki Poston: The volunteers and staff are amazing. The new building is cleaner and the dogs are not in stacked cages anymore. Love this place! Go adopt your new best friend. I have.
Christine W: How in the heck does GCAC think it's okay to ask the owner of a dog that bit a 6 year old if the owner wants to quarantine the dog?OBVIOUSLY the owner is going to say no. Massive disservice to the victim of the dog bite. How many kids does it have to bite before it's removed? How many kids faces need stitches before GCAC will be like "Hey, maybe we should just remove the dog first and THEN consider the owner's feelings?"Every other shelter does more to keep aggressive dogs out of homes with children.
Linda Copeland: Closed on black.friday.just NY luck
Norman Leon: First time visitor to this well-maintained, professionally-managed group. Connie was helpful in introducing me to available felines. The staff were friendly, professional, and all deserve our public financial millage support. Thank you, Team GCAC. 😊😼P.S.: "Sarge" has acclimated well and is quite contentful, I'm grateful to say 🤗.
John Wellington: I started volunteering here 2-3 hours/week since the beginning of July. This is a well run operation that's practically maxed out with nearly 150 dogs post-pandemic. I & others come to get as many dogs out on potty walks and to explore as practical. That gives them a break from their caged life there. This is a well run facility that relies on help and goodwill to make these dogs & cats lives a little brighter. Please consider coming by to help them, too.
Jenn Rose: This place has gone above and beyond what I "used to know" about flint's animal control! I found my new best friend and service dog here! Yes, she's mostly a pittie, they get a raw deal mostly, but OMG she is THEE BEST behaved and INTELLIGENT dog I have EVER SEEN, ESPECIALLY right out of the shelter! The volunteer woman, who introduced me to her, and I had been messaging on FB about adoption. I told her who I was, what I was looking for and a little bit about myself. I went to the shelter to meet a different dog but when I arrived he was adopted, so, this volunteer (I can't remember your name, SO SORRY)was brilliant and very intuitive, she introduced me to "Angelina", now Maeble, knowing that she would be perfect for me! She is quite the matchmaker and the shelter is very fortunate to have this woman as a volunteer! This dog is PERFECT and I just cannot wrap my head around the fact that people let her sit in the shelter for over two months before being adopted! Yes, she has heartworm, but the shelter pays for the treatment as long as I take her to their vet in Montrose, which is totally worth it finding a diamond in the rough like this. THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS AND GCAC!!!!❤️❤️❤️
