Architectural Openings & Access: what do users think?
Todd Frisbie: Most parts were available.
Erick Leininger: I wish I could give half stars on google since I think 4-1/2 is really where I’d put my rating for AOA. We went to AOA to look at options to replace our front entry from Therma-Tru. Bob came to our home on the weekend and had catalogs and samples to help explain the products. He was patient and did a great job going over every aspect of the product. Our entry presented some unique challenges since it consisted of a door, two sidelights, and an arched transom, which Therma-Tru does not provide. Bob left our first meeting with some homework to do, but within a few days time, he was in touch with a solution. We met a 2nd time - again on a Saturday - to review all the details, finalize the specs, and take measurements. Due to the nature of the project, Bob also set up a time to bring the installer over to review the project and to confirm measurements. When installation came, the installers were great. The crew was professional, courteous, and well prepared. Their attention to detail and skill is evident in the final results. The project was not without problems. Every project has them, but what’s important is how someone deals with them. It’s also important to note here that the issues we had were not caused by AOA; they were issues in the fabrication process of the transom and the door hardware that made it through QC and onto the project. Regardless, AOA stood behind the products and worked to correct the issues to deliver a final product that met our specifications. The only reason I cannot provide a 5 star review is that communication towards the end of the project was a little problematic. On the day the replacement transom was scheduled to be installed, I rushed home from my office for the 12pm install start time. At 12:50pm the installer called me to “give me a heads up” that they were running late and may not make the appointment today. Had the call been made before the appointment, it would have been easy to rearrange my day and reschedule the appointment without much impact. In summary, AOA was able to work with 3 different vendors to provide a final, cohesive solution that looks fantastic. The people at AOA are wonderful and reliable, and I would absolutely do business with them again, despite the minor communication issues we had. Give them a call if you’re in the market for a new door. You won’t be disappointed!
Dena Holzmann: Horrible experience! Poorly managed. No communication. I get the feeling this company doesn't really care about the "small" residential projects.Every time one of their sub-contractor came to my house I was left with zero information or status and never heard from the project coordinator until I reached out to ask what was going on and why they thought they were finished. The coordinator did not keep track of open points and when sub-contractors showed up they asked me what they were there to fix because the coordinator was such a terrible communicator. This happened at least 6 times that they were at my house. Always late. Took 6 months to wrap up open points. And now I have water leaking in...
Dave Smith: Awful experience. We ordered 2 doors and had them installed. The sub contractor they used was incredible and will be giving them a great review. I would never recommend this company to anyone as their communication with clients is awfull. Their follow up appointment to install a screen that was wrong initially showed up an hour late and I never received a call or email from AOA or the technician. This wasn't just a one time ooopsie. These issues were apparent through the entire 3 month process
Kenneth Kaminski: Very friendly service
Scott Hardy: The best, most professional company in this trade. Hiring them to check and repair the weatherstripping on our exterior doors has easily paid for itself in energy savings and peace of mind.
Gary Wright: Friendly people easy access
Keith Gibson: Gre group of people!!

AOA Window & Door: what do users think?
Sam Samsell: Bob came out and looked at all of our Marvin Windows. Gave me suggestions on how to care for the windows that needed some TLC. Repaired one of the windows. Did not try to sell me something I didn't need. Excellent service
L Disme: Worst company I have ever dealt with. I did not get the windows that I told the salesman I wanted. I made the mistake of asking for a signed contract when he wanted me to just mail in the down payment. In March 2021, I was told and it was stated on the contract, expected time to install was 3-4 months. No communication from salesman as that time passed, nor after the next given estimate date passed. I got upset and a little rude, and tried to cancel early July, he got even ruder. Installation by sub contractors on Sept 13 with defective patio door and missing parts. When the salesman came to inspect he kept threatening to leave because I was not satisfied with the scratched dirty frames and windows, and the poor workmanship on the patio door installation. He did walk out without letting me know how the issues would be addressed. I tried to contact the owners by phone messages and emails, but got no response until Oct 21 from the salesman, stating parts were not due until after the 1st of Nov. On Nov 30 a different crew took a half day to repair the poor workmanship. I paid a lot of money to be left feeling that I was better off with the 30+ years old windows and patio door than dealing with this horrible company.
Juanita Leosh: We live in a condo with a French door that leads to our 3 season room. The previous owner locked herself out in the 2nd story room and dug her way back in, completely destroying the door, the frame, the strike plate, etc. We contacted Bob for a quote for a new door unit after our first quote came in at over $10,000 for a retail price, a 2nd "special" price and a 3rd "if you sign today" price. (yikes). Bob came to our home to assess the problem and provide a quote. The very first thing he did was to repair the door so that it will work properly for the winter. WOW! We asked him to submit his quote for the work and a separate invoice for his repair. We were knocked out when he said there would be no charge for his temporary "fix". I can't promise he'll do the same for you but I can tell you that a man who feels his job is his "calling" is a rarity in business these days. Talk about no pressure!! We're awaiting his quote for replacement but we're pretty sure that it will also exceed our expectations and meet our budget. We cannot recommend him highly enough. Give him a call!
Kenton Hancock: Bob worked with us on picking the type of products we would need and made sure that everything arrived as timely as possible with all of the challenges in a covid economy. He actively communicated and helped us get the right products. We love the final results.
Donald Bryant: Recently had a window to door project completed by AOA and we couldn't be more pleased with the effort, thought, and craftsmanship that was put in by AOA. There was one small negative in the process that we experienced that I feel is note worthy for someone giving consideration to having work done by them. I am rating this company 5 stars because the work was completed within our initial timeline and the quality exceeded our expectations, but there were times that I experienced a tad bit of anxiety wondering if it would be completed before snowfall. The feeling of anxiety was driven by some communication lapses that I felt sometimes bordered on unacceptable. With 2020 being what it has been I feel that it would be unfair to pin material delays and or project completions pushes on this company fully, but in my humble opinion the scheduling and communication of delays does need some improvement and may be of concern when contracting them for other perspective customers.I would also like to mention that our communication issues were resolved in fairly short order when our account was moved to another account manager. All and all, I would, without a doubt recommend this company for a door/window project.
Norm Brady: I am a very satisfied customer! AOA installed a sliding door where a window used to be. There was nothing "standard" about the job and everything had to be custom fit. - Its perfect! The AOA team did a great job of communicating throughout the process. They came when they said they would come, and I feel that I received a very fair price. I highly recommend AOA and would not hesitate to use them again.
Corrina Scholten: Customer service at it's best! I cannot say enough good things about Bob and AOA. They value your satisfaction from start to finish - and that right there has made a world of difference for us. We will definitely be using AOA for our future projects.
Michael Schuitema: Within this last Month (July 2019) my neighbor and I (Mike Schuitema) had the pleasure of purchasing Windows from AOA Design Center. I normally do not submit Reviews. However, I am so pleased with the "Quality" of their Product, Sales Staff and the Installers I have to share my expierence. Our Condo Complex (Northwood Hills) are very particular on whom and what Windows can be Installed. As a Consumer with 42 Years of Law Enforcement experience; let it just say "I do my Homework"! Do not be fooled my Heavy Marketing; things like "Half Off with TV, Radio and Print Media. Take a investigative approach to your "Purchase" of Windows. I urge you to go into their Show Room and take a look at their Product! Then do some comparisons with whomever! If something is "Too Good To Be True it most likely is not!Mr. Spoolsta and Sara at AOA were Professional, Friendly as well as knowledgeable! I would like to add the Installers Jason and Ler were very thorough and respectful! They made sure the Installation of both mine and my neighbors as Precise and Correct! To Top it all Off they were very meticulous in their Preparation and final Clean Up!Thanks Bob, Sara, Jason and Ler!Yours in service,Michael (Mike) K. Schuitemaaka: Chief and/or Sergeant Mike
Mark Baron: These folks really know what they're doing. A wide variety of windows on display to choose from, knowledgeable sales staff ( thanks Diana) and excellent installation.

Sahr Building Supply: what do users think?
Emily Bierma: I really can’t say enough good about Matt and SAHRS. They were punctual- when he said the day we would get a quote, we did. When Matt came out to our home he quickly understood our design and hopes and had really great recommendations. The installation crew was on time, thorough, and friendly. One of the windows came in wrong... not SAHRS fault at all.. Matt came over that day to talk through options for fixing the problem. The windows are beautiful- sleek and modern. We are so thankful that SAHRS was recommended to us and plan to use them again!!
Wendy: Kirk was wonderfully helpfulà
Special K: Matt & Jason are great the only problem is they had to be contracted with ProCare. I would have rather of dealt with Matt myself & then I’d give 5 stars. Unfortunately, ProCare does nothing to help SAHR out when they blame problems on SAHR and not taking responsibility and not knowing who is doing what. Yes, I would highly recommend SAHR for installation of windows & sliders. When there’s been issues Matt came directly down from Traverse City to my home away from his Christmas to try to resolve an issue with the slider. Otherwise, communication and reliability with work ethic is 5 stars.

Polar Seal Windows: what do users think?
Rex and Traci Gulch: Highly recommend Polar Seal! We went with Polar Seal because they were local, had a reasonable price, and stand behind their product. We replaced all our house windows as well as our patio door. Our sales rep, Rachel, explained things well and offered some options on a couple of our windows that we had not considered. She was very responsive to our followup emails and answered all our questions. Our installers, Monty, John, and Chris, were amazing! They were extremely friendly, answered all our questions, very professional, and cleaned up afterwards really well. Very impressed from start to finish.
Richard Ignatowski: I got my windows I installed about 2 weeks ago and I should have been pleased but I was not.I should have watched the installer I think corners were cut.the two people he had with him were inexperienced and were young.they finished the trim and they put. 3/4" bead of caulk around the window and left exposed foam on the top that was not caulked or trimmed. The windows leaked on the bottom 2 corners(basement windows) when the wind blew.i called polar seal and they sent man down and all he did was trim high corner welds with a box cutter.Well it was windy and all the windows leaked.the corners on the bulb tape and weather seal had all the corners open it should be one continuous seal. I called 2 days ago still waiting on a response.what is the sense of getting new windows of they all leak. I am not happy with the polar seal windows at all I paid thousands for a window that was sub par including the design especially what di do now
Wendy Stuart: I had Polar Seals put windows in for me in 2020. The 3 guys that came to do the work didn’t do a very good job. So I had to have Polar Seals come back a few times to make it look good. I was very impressed with their effort to make things right and they worked hard to earn my customer satisfaction too! I was especially impressed with Rachael, Willard and Alan! They are very helpful, kind, friendly and have awesome customer service skills! (which lacks these days with employees, especially this generation.) Thank you Polar Seals for living up to your name! It’s hard to find businesses like this anymore! I would recommend them to my friends and family!
Brad: Aaron and his team did a great job installing 9 windows. Very happy with how the entire process went, and the windows are a good fit and finish. Thank You!
Caryn Milano: VERY MUCH appreciate them
John Haga: Long 8 month lead time for patio door replacement but once the door was in they called to say they would be here at 7AM. They arrived by 7:15AM. The 2 man crew were very personable and proffessional. they finished by 10AM and were meticuloisly clean. the vacummed inside and out and even washed the glass so was sparkllng clean. Would definitely recomnend Polar Seal. Quality of door is excellent
Crystal Stegehuis: I can’t say enough about our experience with Polar Seal. From the sales team to our installers. Anytime I had a question my emails were answered within 24 hours but usually within a couple hours. The installers did a great job and finished when they promised. Great experience
Roger Pickerd Jr: Cool people to work with
Sara VanHorn: We have placed an order for new windows. Salesperson, Rachael, was very knowledgeable.
Justin: I had several quotes for windows and I settled with Polar Seal because the sales rep (Rachel) was very nice and it was NO pressure sales, versus receiving multiple calls from other companies that tried to pressure me to make my decision quickly. The windows looked of good quality and their reviews seemed to be good. I waited about 7+ months for the install from the time I put down my down payment, and I knew about the wait times, so I was perfectly okay with all of that. When I did receive the call for my windows to be put in I was excited to finally have windows that didn't leak! I was told it would take 1-2 days and the install was scheduled. The crew came and they seemed friendly and they started the job. The entire time they were doing the job I felt like I had to watch everything they did, cause they were trying to cut corners with foam and if I wouldn't have requested them to replace some of the rotten wood, it would have been left there. There were so many small things that they just would have let be if I didn't speak up, and I feel those things should have not required me to say a thing! I wasn't confident about the job and how the windows were being mounted to thin wood that was barely even attached to the cinder block, that I was told I should contact the supervisor there, cause the main installer said he didn't feel confident about attaching HIS name to this job. The supervisor came out and tried to ensure me that everything would be okay and that the install would be fine. After 4 days of them being here and me constantly reminding them to use foam in spots where it was obvious they should and plenty of other things, I was just worn out and feel I picked a company that didn't care about quality work. They had to re-do some of the aluminum wrap around a few windows and instead of scraping the caulk that was previously used, they caulked OVER the existing caulk! That is something that you just don't do if you want good adhesion and you want the job to look professional. It was just issue after issue and they finally got done and didn't clean any of the windows and broke one of the screens. I called the owner cause I felt like he should know about my experience and he said he would have the issues addressed and I never heard back until I called back weeks later. The screen was finally replaced and they came and re-caulked a few spots, but all in all I definitely would NOT do this over again! For the price I paid I feel like they should have been close to perfect, but the caulking around some of the windows looks like a beginner did the work and I feel like if I hadn't been there than who knows what they wouldn't have done properly. I'm hoping if any issues arise the warranty will be honored, but I just cannot recommend Polar Seal at this time and I REALLY didn't want to write this review...
Carlos Hidalgo: They came. Measured. Delivered a beautiful looking and well engineered sliding door. Their installing team--courteous and professional did an excellent install. Results? A+ on all levels.
Ashley Dinkel: Had a hide front window replaced and a new slider installed. All quality products. Project completed in one day. I'd like to mention the sales rep(Rachel) was upfront about the delays from COVID and resources, our wait til was 6 months. It was worth it. Beautiful products, professional crew members.
Dillaman nixon: Polar seal is a great company with top quality products and services in west Michigan since 1950. For fast friendly quality service you can't get any better than polar seal.
Trevor S: Before I called Polar Seal, I shopped around and came across another window company who gave me a quote for 11 new vinyl replacement windows. Quoted me onsite for white in/white out, 9 double hung windows, and 2 large picture windows, ~$16k. For white in/black out the price jumped to almost ~$18k. Not being in the window market for awhile I decided to call Polar Seal, man I'm glad I did.Lisa came out and was very pleasant and helpful. She offered alternative suggestions to our window needs and was able to configure our window spaces for a more efficient product. Polar Seal quoted me ~$10k for 8 Double Hung windows. We were able to drop a few double hung in lieu of a sliding window, or replacing it with a picture window.I also appreciated that Polar Seal uses aluminum screens rather that the fiberglass, I was also attracted to the locally made product that provided jobs here locally in GR. For a company that's been local for 70+ years and still providing quality products means they stand by their product and warranty. The only downfall with Polar Seal was the lead time (install around October), but being in the construction industry, I am more than understanding about current lead times in these difficult times.I will update once they are installed October!
Joyce Kuete: My experience with Polar Seal service was beyond my expectations today. Matt made me a believer in going with a local company who stand behind their warranty and I can't be happier with the results. These windows are going to last for a long time and the seal is making it quiet and no air leaks anymore! Thank you Matt. Great job!!
Thomas Spica: After five quotes from companies in the area to replace my original metal frame living room and dining room windows that didn't open I decided to go with Polar Seal and was not disappointed. My decision was based on a few factors; first, they build their own products here and guarantee the work, Second, they have their own hired in crew (no subcontracting for install), and lastly, their price was reasonable. I did encounter an issue with one of the windows post install, but they stood by their customer satisfaction guarantee and were quick to take a look and address it. My windows look great and I can't wait for warmer weather to open them and let some fresh air in!
Paul Levine: Polar Seal Windows offers a Michigan-based quality product with excellent customer service and support. Our patio door-wall and our house windows were locally installed, providing an attractive custom-fitted energy saving solution for our home.
Shawn Tyrrell: Love this place
Logan Williams: Excellent customer service, with quality product.
Ravennaal: All I can say is WOW. What a difference these windows make. We live in an older home and for 9 years we had been paying around $150 a month for heating bills. We've had Polar Seal windows for the last 2 years and our heating bills have been cut by about $50-$60 a month. Plus NO drafts. These windows look great, work perfectly and they replaced all our windows in only 2 days. I only wish we had the money to replace them years ago when we first moved in because they would have paid for themselves by now with the savings in our heating bill. I highly recommend them.
Steve Groen: I wish every company operated like Polar Seal - a great product at a fair price, no high pressure sales pitch and professional installation. Would recommend this company in a heartbeat. Rachel. the sales rep who came to our house, recommended a different type of window that my wife and I hadn't even considered. We took her advise and the windows are a big improvement over what we had before. Thanks Polar Seal!
