Marketing Department: We celebrated our design team with a group candle-making experience at Wax Poetic. It was amazing! The space is beautiful, staff is extremely helpful, the whole process was easy and fun for everyone. Every scent in the building smelled incredible, it made it difficult to choose what you wanted to use! We can't work with Wax Poetic again in the future :)

Katie Degenhardt: Over 20 different scents to choose from with au least 4 smelling stations (all with the same scents) so you don't have to worry about lack of scent availability. Tables for two/four in addition to larger group tables. The process can take anywhere from 30 minutes to however long you choose to enjoy the environment.

Princess Sharp: Great concept only thing there are missing is coffee beans to cleanse the nose of all the fragrance. Soooooooo many options of scents to chose from. Maybe complimentary water but over all my guy enjoyed his self thought it was a cool date. So now I’m back with my next part to my review so the scent I picked worked out great it smells up myWhole en-suite I’m really happy with how my candle turned out and so is my man we love them and we will do it again !

Gina Rios: I think this is a really cool concept but in all honesty for how much you pay for the candle I was expecting that the customers would actually build their candle. When you go in, you pick the scents you want to combine, the container you like and you pour the scents, that is it. We were there for 20 minutes or less. I think it would be really cool and fun to be able to pour the wax with assistance and actually build the candle. After the store does the pouring for you, you have to come pick it up another day once it solidifies.

lisa4954: This was so much fun. We went to celebrate my birthday and mother's day. The only thing you will want to keep in mind is they take at least 2 hours to set. The one I made was 3 hours due to the size. We used the time to walk around and explore and get dinner.

You can choose between three different kits that include your choice to make 1 or 2 candles, soy wax, and your choice of 2 or 3 fragrances plus easy instructions and for those who like to see it visually, Wax Poetic has a video on YouTube.$30+ tax (1 candle) or $ 60+ tax (2 candles)My only complaint is I wish they offered more scent selections, don't get me wrong, their selection has 60+ scents, it would just be nice to have more.

Lauren Kelly: This was a cute place and a nice concept. I came here for a Bachlorette party and they had a nice seating arrangement for us around the bar. I was disappointed by the lack of what you do. All you do is pick a container, 3 oil scents, mix in a shot glass, dump them in the candle wax, and stir. That is the whole process. The candles are plain white and they pour the wax in. No colors or fun sprinkles or anything. It took about 10-15 minutes in all and was very expensive for what you did and got. They can do a lot more here for your money. I have attached my candle. This cost $50.

† Nicola Dâlpheusse †: Yankee Candle has a nice selection of candles, waxes and scents. You'll surely find something that speaks to you among the different fragrances on offer. The scents come from essential oil extracts and are "pure" and strong. The staff are smart and friendly, with good advice and lots of patients. I have two problems with Yankee Candle, however. First, the price. The candles are made of paraffin wax, which is pretty cheap and common. You can get an identical product elsewhere much cheaper. Basically, you're paying for the name, rather than better quality. If you're concerned about finances, save Yankee Candle for special occasions or gifts. You'll be just as happy with cheaper brands for everyday use. The second problem is environmental. Paraffin is a petroleum product which isn't sustainable. Yankee Candle isn't offering alternatives like soy, as far as I know. On the plus side, they do make all candles with 100% cotton wicks, unlike the lead lined versions some companies use. Lead from wicks can be toxic so this is very positive news.
