Colleen Kline: BEWARE. I was not advised that this is a "cash only" business when I made my reservation for 5 paddlers. The kayaks and paddles were in poor condition....missing foot pegs on all kayaks, seat backs were not adjustable and were stretched beyond a comfortable angle, and paddles that were not adjustable for paddle angle. Check in was not overly friendly. I do not recommend this business.

Andrew Minch: Rude people that lie to their customers. Turned us away 30 minutes before they closed because they didn't want to make another trip. They dont answer the phone either. 45 minutes just to drive there. Tell everyone you know to avoid this place

Sansa Minch: We Drove 45 minutes here only to be turned away. The website said they were open until 2, we arrived at 130 to be told it was reservations only. Which it did not say on their website. They also did not answer their phone. To top it all off the lady at the counter was very rude. Terrible

Rudely told us that we took too long ..Never been tubing at a place that times you. ..crazy..,'We also had 2 tubes pop on trip, they replied with,you're alive right??? Never offered a refund, 2 people had to swim back...never again..

Dan Van Til: Beautiful weather on a beautiful river. However the kayaks our group rented and were issued were in rough shape. Three of the kayaks did not have functioning seat backs so the users had to sit up the entire trip like they were sitting on the ground (after two hours, that's pretty rough regardless of your core strength). Most of the paddles did not have drip rings, so lots of people got much wetter than they would have if they would have had the rings.For the cost of rentals ($35/kayak for two hours), AAA Canoe rental could do a better job with maintaining their gear. The seats, the drip rings...this is low hanging fruit in the world of kayak maintenance.

Nic Andres: We were overjoyed by our experience with AAA Canoe. We made the arrangements via Virginia for a 4th of July float. We also had ppl who had their own kayaks and such as well as a group of us who rented deluxe tubes from the company. They were friendly and accommodating beyond what we could have imagined. Right when we arrived the bus was there to take us back to the car.One tip: Arrive 15 minutes early to get everything in order because they will leave on time.Already planning to build a trip back next summer!

I told them they were making it difficult for others to put in the river and they responded to me “AAA OWNS THE RIVER “ that is news to me! they were sitting there for over a half hour! blocking both area to put in tubes/canoes/ Kayaks. would not recommend a company that is rude to other citizens trying to use the public access to river that is available to everyone to enjoy the river!

Christy: Loved working with Rachel at Grand Kayak Adventures. The website was super easy to use and book. Rachel was at the dropoff site promptly. She gave us some helpful tips on where to paddle and pointed out a good public park to take a break. Based on advice from the website, we paddled on a Tuesday, which was great in terms of low water traffic. There are lots of private residences and boat docks along the route, so I fully believe the weekends are busy on the water. There are lots of great opportunities for bird watching and very calm waters, so be ready to paddle (there's not much current to navigate). We went with a 6-hour rental so we could take lots of rest breaks. We leisurely paddled through three of the bayous and took a break at Pottawattamie Park. We covered a lot of ground and finished in just over 5 hours. Lucky for us, finishing early was no problem. Rachel told us in advance where we could leave the boat and text her for easy pick-up---hassle free! Highly recommend this local small business for your rental needs! Reasonable prices and great service!
