The atmosphere and service were great, as well as the cocktails, but the food overall was disappointing. We found multiple hairs in our food and found it to be underwhelming and slightly under seasoned. It was very busy, they do have a wait list but no reservations and it gets very loud so don't expect an intimate experience.Parking: Street parking and paid lots available nearby.

Jim Miars: Had a great experience there, place is super busy, but our foursome got treated great. Try the Brussel Sprouts, amazing!It would be easy for a place like this, due to their high foot traffic location, to be lazy with regard to food and/or service. Not this place! I have been there since and sat in a different spot with picky orderers/eaters- again, treated wonderfully, food was great. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. There is often a wait, so prepare for that. We had cocktails out on the street while waiting, it was great. We were a little hungover the next day, lol.

Courtney Leeper: We really enjoyed our dinner at Butcher's Union. They don't take reservations, but have a online waitlist you can join, we went on a Wednesday night and it was packed so there we had a 30 min wait for 4, but we all agreed it was well worth the wait. Our server was fantastic, and we had a drink at the bar before being seated and staff at the bar was wonderful. Great beer and cocktail selection, not a huge menu but we all got something different and enjoyed it. The inside is beautiful and so unique it made for a great dinning experience. Would definitely recommend trying this place!!

Brandon's Equipment Videos: I was invited to MDRD for a special occasion. I had never heard of this restaurant, but after looking at other reviews, I developed high expectations. I do have to say that MDRD lived up to those expectations! The view from the 27th floor is great. Brandon, our server, was very patient with explaining the different food options to our party and accommodating our requests. Our meals started with an olive garnish. Green olives are not my favorite, but it was still a nice touch. We ordered several tapas, which are essentially smaller plates of food that can be shared with the whole table. I highly recommend the lamb chops, they were by far my favorite dish that I tasted that night! I also enjoyed the prawns. The jamon y queso tapa was not my favorite, but everybody else seemed to enjoy it. For my main course I had the ribeye steak. The steak was very flavorful and cooked to my liking. I love how the ribeye was bone in, as that adds a lot of flavor. Of course, this restaurant is expensive, but that goes without saying. If you are looking for a unique fine dining experience in the Grand Rapids area, this would definitely be one of my top picks!

Parking validation for half of the parking fee is available conveniently across the street. The views from any table in the restaurant are breathtaking. Our taste buds were set alight with the main courses that we ordered. I had the lobster paella and he had the filet a la plancha. Both brought exquisite high def flavors to our taste buds! We completed the experience with the limon dessert, and I am still left puzzled as to how they worked such culinary magic with that creation!
