Kendall Murphy: I am a new patient recently discharged from the hospital with instructions to make an appointment with Dr. Marok as soon as possible and when I called to make the appointment I was in genuine shock at how rude the woman on the phone was to me. She told me id need a referral from my pcp so I asked if it was possible the hospital doctor sent one and she audibly sighed and said ‘I’m not a referral coordinator and they just went through all the referrals’ so I kindly asked if she could just check and sure enough I was in there. I was told the soonest was mid May so I took the appointment but am questioning if the entire experience with this office will be this way. Really hoping Dr. Marok is kinder and more motivated than she was.

justin brust: doctor singh? more like doctor couldn’t carry a tune if it was a backpack. after screwing up the pace maker implant two times, we get charged for the third surgery when spectrum found the device infected? i understand infections happen, but if you can’t get it right after two tries, which he insisted on, and i am sure got paid $50,000 plus from insurance, why would you even consider sending me a bill for $250? to make things even worse, singh was too much of a coward to come talk to us at spectrum. instead he sent an associate in to kind of apologize for the complications and basically just say “meh. these things happen”. at this point, i trust the creators of coffin flop more than these “doctors”. i wouldn’t even let them look at my red headed middle child for a paper cut. zero stars. would not recommend.

David Yoder: I saw the medical assistant, the nurse practitioner, and a student observer, but after one and one half hours the doctor still had not come in, so I walked out. Totally unacceptable. No apologies from anyone either.

Dr. Singh is awesome, well worth waiting to see, he is extremely knowledgeable and he has performed multiple surgeries with special needs on both my parents and would explain procedures so we could understand clearly. I feel like he has really helped prolong their life. I really trust in his care of my parents and that means a lot to our family.

Not Sharing: Unreasonably long wait times, assembly-style test-mill medicine and no MD in sight. More than a week later and no one called to notify me of my test results.I fired them and got a cardiologist who actually spends time with his patients and who considers whether a test is really necessary.

Kelsey Rondeau: After 2 visits to the ED with my father-in-law within a few days, I was on my way back in for the 3rd time and called West MI Cardiology and spoke with nurse Laurie (the ED referred us there). Laurie gathered information, talked it over with other staff, and gave me the words I needed to advocate for additional tests and get answers. I'm confident that Laurie is the reason they didn't send my FIL back home immediately and kept him long enough to get the answers we needed. So thankful for her encouragement to go back in and how she empowered me to effectively advocate for my FIL!

Kim Goryl: Please do not use this hospital. My mother came in for a heart valve surgery and they injured her during that surgery and had to go back in to correct it. The hospital was filthy, nurses were uneducated. Not a Dr in sight. I doubt my mother gown had ever been changed. Had the same compression socks on for days.. my mom passed away

Amy Boyd: If you are a visitor who needs oxygen, know that the staff WILL NOT assist you or let you use the oxygen in the hospital unless you are the patient. Even if your husband is dying, too bad. Go home and get your own oxygen. If you live an hour away and only have a 2 hour tank, no visit for you. Heather in 4Heart won't allow it. No compassion. "It's a billable item".

Glen Powell: I want to thank everyone that saved my partner Tom of 34 years. He had a stress test scheduled but the mri was bad he was rushed to the heart center and hapoened to have a heart attack while he was there. A nurse have him cor and life support. He didnt have much of a heart beat for over a half hour.As a last result a drug was used that can kill you or save you. It worked he is recovering and is stronger every day!! He woildnt be here without all of the nurses and drs that worked to keep him going.. thank you for saving the life of the man I love :-D. He is expected to make a full recovery.

John Max: I want to thank everyone associated withthe Heart Cath section I came in for a catheterization at 8AM Thursday There were complications with calcification At 4 PM I went back in for 3 stents I did not leave till 10PMI was greeted at check in with a smileMy main nurse Kya was great. She was helpful informative friendly, I could not have asked for better The surgery staff was also efficient and friendly I felt well taken care of. Kya looked after us answered all our questions she even did drawings to help explain. I can not thank her enough When her shift ended (late) her replacement nurse (sorry not sure Lora and Ryan?)took up where Kya left off. They stayed late but stayed in a great mood. They went so far as to take our valet card down and get our key and make sure our van was out frontThey all made what was a very long hard day much easierThank youJohn Maksymowski

I personally have been through over 4 years of HELL since my open heart surgery perform there.I just had another open heart surgery, at U of M. To correct multiple issues perform wrong. Replaced 2 of my heart valves and repaired a hole in my heart. This has also caused a major problem with my employment, due to excessive time missed because of treatment received. Excessive money, both insurance and mine lost for surgery and multiple returns to hospital since.

Dianne Pankey: My husband was admitted during the COVID 19 pandemic after the hospitals were experiencing financial deficits. Unfortunately staff has been stretched to its limits. A patient can wait indefinitely to see a nurse because they are racing between patients to do the most important tasks for their patients. My husband who had some complications after bypass surgery waited in many cases all day to be walked or after complications to be moved to a chair. The nurses are excellent, but there are not enough of them. Physical therapy is also stretched to its limits especially on the weekend. I’m really worried for my husband that he will not get strong enough to leave the hospital.. Medical care can be wonderful, but without sufficient nursing care during the recovery process, it will not succeed.

Rob Ford: My experience at The Heart Center was incredible. Unexpected triple bypass on a very short notice - scary situation and this place made me feel so comfortable pre-op. The post-op care was 10 stars - I am certain I was a pain but their professionalism, care and understanding was at a very high level - I hope I never have to see them again in that situation but could not be more grateful for the care they ALL provided. Deb Rolf: I have been a patient here for many years and up until a few months ago felt my care was okay and up to standards.The person I see who is great is out on leave.I used My Chart to ask a medication question and immediately got a response back from a nurse that I would need to be referred out to a clinic specializing in my condition as my medication was making me lightheaded and yes it was an issue I had been dealing with for a few months.Is it not my physicians office job to regulate my medications? Even if it’s taking a while to find what works.I feel Spectrum Health is losing its compassion for the patients.They are becoming too big and the danger of this is your just a number to them.I sent a message back to this person in the office saying I would wait for the return of my person I see for September and a referral to a specialist clinic was not appropriate..I felt totally shoved off by the cardiologist office here and would consider finding somewhere else in the future if not for the one person there I see who does a good job.You have to be your own advocate for your care.Spectrum has become so big they are losing that individual care they use to provide each patient.It’s sad.You give the same response to everyone it’s not personal and your standard response does not hold much at all.

Debbie Rolf: I am a pacemaker patient who recently had surgery to replace my pacemaker battery this past week.I want to tell you that the 2 employees who are running the call in device clinic are rude and demeaning to the patients calling into them for help.Twice now both of them Heidi and Mellany have been beyond rude and condescending to me on the phone. I’m calling in because I need help! I don’t appreciate their rudeness telling me I’m calling them to much when I need help and don’t hear back from them within a reasonable time I am going to call them again and I should not be berated by them nor should any patient calling in for help.It is unacceptable and uncalled for to say the least.Something needs to be addressed with them!
