Antcliff Laken: After 12 years in long term care as a CNA, I felt a tug toward the Veterans Home of GR. I had recently found my biological Grandfather who was a Vietnam Vet- 101st Airborne. My recruiter was dishonest about the base pay- gave me the weekend rate and many others apparently. A CNA whom I witnessed on several occasions coming to work high became a tier 5. Her and I did not see eye to eye. She worked every other weekend. I worked every weekend. She began to float me (sent home after 2 hours) or send me to a floor that I was not familiar with- I acknowledge being flexible is a must. Being targeted and harassed is wrong. I reached out to my recruiter, Anthony and Zoey as I saw a trend. They assured me it had been addressed however I was faced with the same situation that following weekend however this time a veteran CNA spoke up stating that this tier 5 CNA/scheduler had been on this floor slandering me and my name before I had met her or the brand new employee that was training. I received a call that following Tuesday- I was fired. No call back from Anthony. I urge anyone CNA or nurse to stay far away from this agency. The Veterans Home is a beautiful place full of the most interesting and kind members! Unfortunately, children without education are acting as managers.
