J F: My husband and I took both the First Steps and CPL classes. What impressed us was the seriousness of the instructors, Ericka and Jeff. There was no joking when it came to this subject. Thorough instruction was provided about the laws, concerns, and responsibilities that come with carrying concealed, with the possibility of having to use a firearm for self-protection. The shooting at the range was carefully observed and appropriate handling of these tools was mandatory. Info on the opportunity for competition and further training was provided as well. Education is key to make this decision for yourselves.

I would recommend this class to anyone looking for a CPL, they kept the class fun and entertaining even through the lengthy legal portion. The range they took us to was big and well maintained. A big plus is that they offer rentals in the event you don’t have your own firearm. I will definitely be using DSS for all of my questions and any classes needed to renew my cpl in the future.

William Nichols: I have taken other CPL classes, and Defensive Shooting Skillsis by far THE BEST!! The amount of information in the classroom far surpasses what I paid to be there. Jeff goes very in depth as far as all of the laws attached to concealed carry, but also all of the small details that you wouldn’t have otherwise thought of that could save you or your loved one’s lives and keep you out of prison for defending yourself and your family. You can sense pretty quickly that Jeff and Erika are big hearted, loving folks that just want everyone to be safe and have fun. I will be coming to DSS for any of my learning needs, every time! Rod Lawrence: Although my first class so I have no comparison to go by, In my opinion the class was excellent. Everything was covered from gun safety, gun operation, situations that one can adjust to a favorable outcome, legal aspects and most importantly the gravity of concealed carry.Mark was a through instructor and a sage, hope to take the more advanced classes in the future.
Sailorman Dan: Excellent class and excellent teacher. Mark was very knowlegable in all types self-defense options, safety and various legal considerations. Highly recommended in-class with them versus online for CPL.

Rev Anderson alotted the time to explain, in detail, my new firearm and the importance of safety and training to properly use it for the protection of my family, friends, and loved ones.
