Drive to the north end of the series if buildings and 'sneak' in the way back until you see this sign, this arrow. Don't hesitate when the arrow points you across a sheet roofing covered path of skids to a steel set of steps. And please dont stop now! Open the door to a one of a kind custom furniture workshop. Ask Roger to draw your custom design on an old pad of small note paper. You will suddenly realize quality, custom furniture is not dependant on a fancy customer show room. Savor the few moments you have to truly appreciate loving, quality craftsmanship. Timeless.

Communication was excellent and we ended up with a beautiful hickory table that was exactly what we were hoping for.On the way here, his truck broke down and he called me saying that he would be late but he would stick to his word of delivering that day. Aubrey: Where to start... we placed an order for a vanity bottom. It was almost $1000. I went in to go over a custom stain and when he showed me the vanity we found it was made the wrong size. They had to remake it. Fast forward a couple months later. We get the vanity and bring it home. We had an installer come out to put the counter top on and install it and his exact words were “it looks like a blind man made it”. He started pointing out several issues. The “slow close” drawers would barely open and shut. The front cupboard door is warped. The insides of the drawers are not clear coated which he says is common sense for a vanity. The drawers are also crooked because the ENTIRE VANITY IS NOT EVEN SQUARE. He could not put the counter top on because it would be crooked. it doesn’t end there ... the false top drawer sticks out more than the rest of the drawers, for no apparent reason. I was frustrated when we first got it because the color was much lighter than the sample we decided on but I decided to just move on seeing as I got no response from them on fixing it. Finding all of this just made this experience miserable. I asked for a refund because the installer, my husband and myself all felt that sending it back to be made for the THIRD time was something we did not feel comfortable doing. We just wanted to move on and let them have the vanity back. They are refusing a refund so we now have to file a dispute with the credit card company and wait for our refund that way. The communication and custom service has been horrible. I have NEVER written a bad review, but wish I could warn everyone not to waste their time after realizing that they wouldn’t do the right thing and just let us purchase another vanity after all of the hassle.

Kenneth Van Der Scheer: Larry was vary helpful knowledgeable with the custom doors and drawer front on my project. He explained why they choose to use a stonger joinery then typically is used. The hole cost with the better joinery was still reasonable.

Sami W. Al Jallad: I paid Matthew Hutchinson, owner of Grand Rapids Woodworking a deposit of $750 three months ago (08/19) for a project that should have been completed the first week of 09/19. Matthew has not returned any of my calls since and has not completed the project. I do not recommend working with him and will be pursuing legal action.

Drew Pate: I commissioned Matt to make a piece for someone else, a part for an antique spinning wheel. A day after meeting with him and describing how the piece should be integrated into the rest of the wheel I realized that I had made a mistake in the description. I contacted him to make those changes but the piece had already been finished. He ended up having to make the order again as the first was unusable however he was very understanding about the whole thing and even offered a discount for the second round of work. I found him to be very reasonable all around, communications were always returned quickly, the second round of work was finished not only correctly but within the same day. The quality of the work itself was excellent both times.
