Nicole Ronda: What an amazing dinner and a show! The best mushroom burger I have EVER had. Not greasy at all. That's so hard to do and they have perfected it. Drinks are delicious! Rob Ammerman: I've always wanted to stop there. Today was the day! First time. First experience of an icon to the Plainfield corridor. The place looks like what you'd expect. Go to order, no substitutions. You have the choice of take it or leave it. The staff was young and non too professional. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger, picked off what I didn't want. The burger was dry and bland. That was the only remarkable thing about them. Fries were meh. We ate and left. I'm not sure how they have stayed open 70 years.

Javier Guzman: I went to eat with my family, a friend recommended the place, customer service was not good at all, we felt treated differently from others, I am Hispanic, we ordered the drinks and they were given to us in disposable cups, we observed all the tables and everyone had normal glasses except my family and I, I asked the waitress why she had given us those types of cups and her answer was, we don't have more of the others and that's why we gave you those types of cups, we realized that they had more but for some reason they won’t give it to us. Visiting this place a was very uncomfortable.

Something Difrnt: I'm sad to put the post like this, However it was my true experience recently.First I'd like to say I was a fan of fat boy since a child. My grandpa would take me almost weekly for years. I can't begin to think of the amount he spent there, wild. He would get breakfast specials, or we would get olive burgers together. It was our little spot for a long time. Rip Don Jackson.Anyways, fast forward to now. The door is locked 40 minutes before close. 4 people stand around aimlessly playing on their phones hoping a customer doesn't arrive and they have to work. I'm met with eye rolls and annoyance.I order a fat boy burger. Classic. Fries and onion rings. It takes about 20 minutes for those items even though I'm the only customer. I'm sitting at the bar and the cashier and busboy are standing there doing nothing. Small side chatter, laughing, nothing to do with interacting with me the customer. Nor appearing to work on their own responsibilities. The owners daughters boyfriend was next to me. The owners daughter is cooking. Sitting and playing on his phone, the bf is whom is closest to me. I said 'this place used to be way different. Are you all family working here?' He laughed and said no. Stated who he was, he looked at the cashier and busboy and they all smiled and laughed awkwardly, like I had asked an alien question lol no more conversation to be had after that I guess. I'm sitting there in dead silence in an empty lobby trying to support a small business I HAD admired in the past. Everyone is on their phone..I had hoped the food would make up for the nonexistent service and all around uncomfortable atmosphere I sat in. Fingers crossed. 🤞Even as a loyal patron, I was treated with an attitude that only suggested they'd rather close up shop. No thanks, no appreciate you. Just a burger, fries and rings, for $20.00, in a bag, and a have a good one as I'm persuaded to leave. Almost laughable how rude.I got home to eat my meal, even though I had at first wanted to sit in and eat. No thanks lol. The fries and onion rings sucked. The fries wet with perspiration ina. Small box wrapped too tightly with wax paper. Onion rings melted together, most likely cooked too long in the oil. The bun was dry and chewy, most likely a few days too old. The burger was good, the lettuce and topping was not fresh. So all around, the worst experience I've had eating food in a long time. Ramen would have sufficed better.Again, Im disappointed more so than I am angry. I used to love this place. It's gone completely downwards in service, food quality, and all around experience. Whoever is managing should fire and rehire. Those people do not care if you succeed and are not holding true to what that place used to be. When I visited in the past we were always met with a smile, our order was placed and made efficiently. The service made you feel like you were at extended family's visiting.I will never waste 20.00 on a meal here ever ever again. I could have spent 5 bucks at McDonald's and been content. A gas station hot dog and a service attendant there would have been nicer to me and my stomach. I went out of my way and payed exponentially more to support small, to support Fatboy.Trust me when I say it left a bad taste in my mouth. Both literally and figuratively.

Tyler Ingalls: Easily one of the better burgers in Michigan. It’s got that old flat iron grill that churns out the juiciest burger you can imagine. Onion rings are incredible and the food is just perfect!There’s not a lot of seating room, maybe 15 total chairs/spots to sit. So don’t bring a big group unless you plan for take out!The owners are super friendly and nice as well!

Appetizers and food came out at the same time...cold burger had no sauce on it, was suoer well done, honestly would have preferred a mcdonalds burger at least you know going in what your going to get, when it was time to leave we waited 20 min for our check and I uad to get up and ask for boxes as well as to pay. FiTFaM: We were pleased with the quick and friendly service. The Paloma was super strong and good as was their hit the wahl ipa! We had the flight tots that were so crispy and delicious. The salmon salad was ok, but loved that the salmon was cooked perfectly. The pattie melt was also ok just needed to be on a rye toast/bread instead. We would go back, especially for the tots and beer.

Eric Davis: I’m not one to complain about things however, this I have to say. I work as a manager in a restaurant. So I’m aware of dietary restrictions. We have been wanting eat at Wahlburgers for a while. We finally made the Trek to Grand Rapids.First off our waitress was very kind and apologetic. We had long discussion with her about what on the menu my wife can eat because she has celiac disease. Therefore the slightest bit of gluten makes her sick. After talking with our waitress, we came to the conclusion that Wahlburgers will go above and beyond to accommodate Celiac disease. The conclusion was every sauce is gluten free except the BBQ sauce. We ordered the “Spicy cheese and bacon tots”. When the waitress brought it to the table it looked delicious. This being our first time here we are believing after the discussion we had with the server everything would be fine. The tots come and we just start eating. After a few tots my wife stops and says where is the Bacon!!! We were brought the wrong tots that had the one sauce my wife can’t eat which is the BBQ sauce. So now we know what is about to happen. The waitress apologized relentlessly however that does not stop the reaction my wife had. We both ordered the same burger one gluten free and one not. The gluten free bun was dry and immediately fell apart when my wife tried to eat the burger, “ she couldn’t eat it. Both of our burgers were over cooked grey inside and salty beyond edible. I’m a cook also and it looked as if the burgers were pre cooked or old.I know this is a first time experience for us at Wahlburgers and we were extremely disappointed. I don’t know if there is any way to make this right but my will be sick for a few day and we always talk to the server in detail about Celiac disease. This experience was a complete failure and I hope no one else who has celiac will experience what we did Wahlbuger’s.Dietary restrictions: My wife has celiac disease.

The burger was absolutely delicious. This may or may not be controversial, but I thought it better than Shake Shack's burger. The Fries were good, but nothing special. I tried their Chocolate Shake ($5.75), which was also good, but not thick enough throughout. It was clumps, then all liquid. The person I was with had the The Super Melt ($15), which is Two beef burger patties served between thick-cut bread and grilled with government cheese, bacon, caramelized onions, pickles and housemade mustard sauce. The burger was stated to be fantastic. The Mustard sauce especially. In fact it's too bad that sauce isn't also available for purchase.The service was very good. Super friendly and efficient.Overall a 4 1/2 star review, rounded to a solid 4. Would I return? Absolutely, loved the burger.

JJ L: This specific Five guys location needs to work on their operations. I made a web order for my family dinner. I arrived at the time they said the order would be ready. I responded appropriately when asked if I arrived. I walked up to the pick up area they they didn't have my order. Actually, they completely missed my online order and started working on it as soon as I asked for it. I waited patiently for the order. I received my order in about 15 min. I got home and opened up my bag and they left out 2 burgers. I had to go back and pick up my burgers which they stated was still there in a separate bag. Understand that this was our dinner and the inconvenience of having drive 15 min each way to pick up the 2 burgers was a real pain, but I still needed to get dinner so I called explained the situation. They said to come back for the burgers and a refund. When I arrived they said they threw away the burgers. Unbelievable and completely unprofessional. I would give them 1 star but gave another for the refund of 2 burgers.

It's over $8 for a large fry so you should probably hook people up they're just potatoes they're pretty cheap. I'll change my review if they give me more fries next time. If I receive the same amount of fries or less I won't be back again. Fried nation has just as good fries and they hook you up.

Mark Z: We had driven by Mr burger several times and recently we were recommended to try it out. We had some business to take care of on 44th Street and we were getting hungry and passed by it on the way to our destination so we decided to stop on our way back. We went in not knowing what to expect but we are glad we did. This place has that old time feeling of what restaurants were like back in the good old days. The menu is set up just like the old Kmart cafes used to be. You grab a tray and the person behind the counter takes your order. You can see your food being cooked right there. You pull your tray to the area where you have fresh homemade fries waiting for you and within a minute your sandwich is hot, fresh and ready. You pull your tray down toward the end where they have lots of different desert choices and salads. Then to the cashier where she takes your drink order and cashes you out. The seating area is very clean and spacious and comfortable. I had a bacon burger deluxe combo with fries and a salad. The burger was one of the best burgers I have had in along time. The fries are very good and cooked just perfectly. Good size salad too! All that food at a very affordable price. I had seen another customer come in and order breakfast which looked amazing and big portions size. I highly recommend this place for great food and an amazing old school atmosphere. Ranks as one of the top burger places in my book. They have been in business for over 40 years. Many different menu choices too. If your ever craving a good burger....this is definitely the place to go. You won't be disappointed!!
