Etherious Potato: I go here and this is the best school ever. The teachers are nice and the care about you. There are many fun activities like black team vs red team soccer games. It's amazing.

Lisa: Not the best education. I attended Grandville all my life till half way through senior year. The lessons taught at union were what ihad learned in sixth grade at G-ville. Stick to a better school even if you have to drive your kids. Grandville teaches college level classes.

Katie Booms: I keep hearing and seeing great things about Union High School! All students starting in 9th grade can earn 2-4 yr college scholarships as Challenge Scholars. Great leaders, sports, JROTC, and college prep opportunities here. Come see it and support these Red Hawks!

Thomas Harrison: GR Union has tons of extracurricular activities and everyone is welcomed to participate. The Boy's and Girl's Tennis teams are supposed to be top notch!!

Rebecca Zoetewey: It's a great school, it's been the top in the state before so that says something about it. Although the workload can be a lot, it prepares you for college and has a good environment for people who want to learn.

Dude Melón: Ok. So if you're not someone who is persistent and actually cares about education, don't go to City, and don't write terrible reviews because you don't want to commit fully. City is a brilliant school with brilliant teachers that, while pushing you to the limits at time, makes you more than prepared for the next step. The student body is extremely diverse and friendly, and school lunch is free and edible. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

olivia williams: City high-middle school is terrible. They put students academics over emotional health. Students here are as stressed and depressed as it gets. Their rigorous academic agenda is not worth the pain you are caused if you go here. I 100% DO NOT Reccomend this school.

Hunter: It's a ok school not great (some bad teachers) no outside equipment (playground,swings ect.) only a center base and softball fence, has one f the best gym teacher I have had. All in all its ok not great.

Lumpy Tapioca: It used to be Covell Elementary. My first school. Went to kindergarten there. Mrs. Brown was the teacher. I lived just a block away so Covell was central to all of the neighborhood kids. We would have bike races down the driveway hill. No fear (well, maybe a lot). Attempted skateboarding down the hill too, but then, a skateboard was a 2x4 with a sister's taken-apart steel-wheeled roller skate nailed to the bottom. It would shake your teeth out of your head. Under the based of the hill, there was a four foot drainage pipe that ran under the road. It was a mark of great courage if you would crawl thru it.Covell used to have a great playground, my first actually. Swings, a merry-go-round, monkey bars. In the back, before they filled it in and built those 2 buildings, it was a bowl surrounded by (what seemed like) a steep hill. Everyone would sled down the hills every Winter. It was always cold and crowded. If you were daring, you would sled all the way into the woods. On the treeline to the west, there was a place with big rocks to sit on. We all called it Sleepy Hollow. Probably still there.At the base of the drive, before the parking lot (the Covell Oval), Dickie Cryderman and I would climb the trees. (That's his old house up north of the entrance and they owned the land all the way down the hill). We tried out our first curse words up in the trees there. Dickie fell out once, I thought he died.The lot to the east was lawn where we would play bad football and learn who was who. The woods to the north east seemed like a vast primordial jungle to explore. Old growth trees and vines and dense overgrowth. Many memories. We would climb up pipes by the janitors office and go up on the roof. That was scary and took great courage.Memories... Kissed my first girl there. Smoked our first cigarettes. Went there the first time I got stoned. Played basketball with Chris Zeman (everyone called him Zeke and he passed way too early and I miss him to this day. A wonder of a guitar player).There was a Halloween festival in the gym every year with apple cider and caramel apples and candy and games where you would win tickets and maybe win a cake in the cakewalk.It's all but gone now. The social focal point of our pre-adolescent lives in a much more innocent time. I still visit it every so often in Dreamland. If you attend school there now, go in the back and sit on the rocks in Sleepy Hollow. Say hello to the ghosts of the children roaming the halls. Make room for them, there's so much to do and so little time.

High quality education, great Tradition, highly competitive sports teams, well above average for a public school. I would put my kids here. But with every small HS in a small city, there is a lot of talking that goes on. Go East!

Natalie Walejewski: Mrs. Pulera is the best! She always pushes you to strive for your best. She will always be there to talk to if you want to confide in her or just simply have a causal talk. Oh, and she'll figure out your class and college stuff too since that is of course part of your job. Which she does well by the way! She will make sure you are put in the right classes suited for you and that you get all the help you need to succeed in your classes. Overall, Mrs. Pulera is one of the best at Nexus! She and the others who work here understand that high school is high school, but they make it not so horrible by giving you help in any way that you need and giving you plenty of tools to help you succeed!
