Many times once there is a completed transaction, service changes. Each time I go back to the store, the staff always greets me by name and ask how everything is going. I continue to have questions - and every time they always have an answer or they get me the information I need. They continue to provide advice and ongoing education to help me keep my fitness spa optimal. Service in today's society is a vanishing value, I really appreciate this aspect. I still think of my fitness spa as fun preventive medicine!Thank you very much - see you soon!Many people purchase a fitness spa for enjoyment - and a fitness spa is fun, but I don't think people think about it as a long term investment for health and well being. Aquatic therapy supports mobility and cardiac aspects. Despite the late hour, he patiently showed us the spas. We decided to purchase one. Again he was patient with all of the paperwork, and all of the questions we had. He also gave us many accessories for free. Could not be happier with our master spa. Fast forward 5 years. We had a seal leaking from one of the pumps. My wife went to the store, and they sold her a $10 pair of seals, and showed her how to replace them. She was able to repair our spa, and avoid a service call. Good quality spa. There was literally one hot tub on the sales floor to look at. We did speak with Myles about a few options and was given a quote on a possible tub. He was great, but we couldn’t pull the trigger. No way am I spending $10,000-$14,000 on a hot tub I can’t even see. We went down the road to Watson’s, where they had upwards of 20 different hot tubs on display. We decided to spend our money there.

I usually need a product (but not always), and the staff are very helpful in explaining what I need and how to apply the products to the pool. Going to Pools Plus for pool supplies is a good experience!

Last summer was the first time our pool was green and when we hit a wall with it almost clear but stubborn (2 weeks in), I reached out to Scott (the owner) and he himself came out to our home to assess the situation and he was able to not only fix it, but took video and talked through it to use it to teach his staff in their weekly educational meetings. I would recommend Scott and his team if you are looking to put in a pool!

Danielle Buttermore: I was surprised at how terrible the customer service at this business was. My first visit I went in hoping to get some help managing the ph and alkalinity of our hot tub. I bought a house with a built in hot tub and I have never owned one before. I made this very clear. I learned that I could bring in a water sample, so, the next time i come back with a water sample. The guy then rudely says "its not much of a sample". He then informs me that he needed 20 ounces, I probably brought 12. Well youd think he would have told me that at my first visit when I said I know nothing about this and didnt even know I could bring a sample. My husband returns with a sample and the guy dumps most of it down the sink after running the test....clearly he did not need 20 oz. He then explains that he cant give us any information on how to fix our water without knowing exactly how many gallons there are. Well sorry but its built in and there is no information on it. He would not help us at all. Apparently if you dont know exactly how many gallons your tub holds and he cant put numbers into a computer to do the work for him, he knows nothing. He was rude, arrogant, and annoyingly sarcastic with each encounter ON TOP OF not being at all helpful. I went to Fox Pools and they were extremely helpful. I will never go back to this business.
HONEST ABE: Experience here with sales staff was good up until we needed service on our tub. Service department is trash. From the first phone call, to the first service call, to the multiple times we were told we’ll call you next week, and that week came and went......not once but twice.....are you kidding?!? Unorganized, unprofessional, lack of communication, don’t follow through on their word, give you the run around, and chances are they’ll respond to this with some sort of passive aggressive and defensive excuse instead of trying to make things right, typical lol......honestly, scheduling a service call, ordering parts, staying in contact, completing a job in a timely manner for a loyal customer who’s spent over 15k on a product and always gets their chemicals from you to support your business instead of just going to meijer or someplace more convenient, like who do you people think you are?!? Whoever owns this place should be embarrassed. You might make money, but you shouldn’t be proud of how you do it. We’ve had multiple friends (at least 6 couples) ask us where we got our tub, and if we liked it, and now we have to say “don’t go where we went!” I’m not some entitled a hole, I don’t expect special treatment, but decent, responsible, timely service is not at all too much to ask.
Chris Curtis: Owners need to educate themselves on the Supreme Court rulings and the ADA. The MIOSHA "Rules" are only applicable to government agencies not private companies or individuals! ADA says you can be fined 75k for discrimination! Putting a sign up stating the customer can choose to wear or not wear a mask and us common sense is a better business decision. You likely have lost mine bc of the rudeness a unconstitutional "store rule".
Rebecca Dexter: We just bought a house and when we put in our offer the sellers must have turned off the pool system and just let it sit for sixty days because it was GROSS! We went into the store today and Jordan (sorry if that spelling is wrong) was so kind and helpful. They seriously went above and beyond in helping us gather everything and told us we can definitely handle this! After getting us all the supplies and so patiently explaining things (a few times hehe) to me husband and I, they told us to bring back a water sample once we killed the algae growing in that thing to help us figure out the rest. They even told us to call with questions. SO KIND! Great experience!
Nicki Schuiling: A lot of ups and downs but eventually they made it right....Lots of missing parts that put a delay on the build. Different crew out here almost everyday. Was told one side of our pool would need a 1 foot retaining wall, turns out 3 sides need a retaining wall... varying in size from 1 foot to 3.5 feet.No one communicates and you are left wondering when someone will be back to work on your project. This started at day 1. Most times no one would respond and our sales guy would just say “I can’t get a response from anyone.” Project started 5/27, it is June 19th and we are still waiting for completion. The pool is in and usable. Edit: project completed on June 22nd.Concrete people damaged our fence and no one wanted to take responsibility. Basically were told we were lying but they did pay to fix the fence. Guess that’s a win.Pool is beautiful and is the perfect size. Equipment runs beautifully and is as expected.Bryan and Marcus are amazing and are wonderful to work with.Glad our pool is in and the experience is over.

The amount of times pools plus has helped me over the years is crazy! like most, whenever we open our pool it is crazy infested with algae and it’s extremely cloudy. Every year the first thing I ever do is go bring in a sample of my water to pools plus. I typically go to the 29th street location because the girls there, Faith & Presley specifically, are always so sweet, but also extremely knowledgeable! I even asked them one day, “how do you girls know SO much about the chemistry in pools?” They informed me they get trained extremely well and even have pool school every week. I am so happy to hear that their employees are well trained and actually know what is going on! Anyways whenever I bring in my water they help me clear the water within a few days.Before I went to pools plus it would take me and my husband at least a week to clear up the pool. Pools plus helped me save a lot of time and be able to enjoy the pool faster! We have always loved the products they carry and more important the amazing customer service! I would recommend Pools Plus to everyone that owns a pool! They are great at answering our questions and always seem to have what we are looking for.Not once have i been unsatisfied with them. Nate Pegman: Bought Caldera spa from them 5 or so years ago. Can't recommend Pools Plus as their post-sale customer service is poor and communication is terrible. Nothing says "thanks for spending your money with us" like having your calls not returned or being told you will be called and then never receiving a call. I encountered several service issues in the first year or two of owning my spa and was told each time that the spa was out of warranty (it was not). That seemed shady to me. The latest frustration is their apparent COVID-related supply issues which make getting a hot tub cover a six month process. Hey Pools Plus staff, we get it that it's COVID and you can't get covers. All the more reason to communicate with and follow up with customers! You would get a pass, but the last time I called to ask about my cover order, your manager was flustered, rude, and hung up on me and your poor performance predates COVID in my experience. Next time I'll have to look elsewhere.

Robert Oliver: It's a terrible place to work. Underpaid, completely disrespected, and terrible working conditions. They have no interest in doing anything right. Just squeezing money out of the business. Their lack of care to their employees, or the company at all as a whole, is clearly evident on every overpriced hot tub they try and sell. If you want to see how a business is yeeted into the bankruptcy, see the place for yourself.

RY: Wish I would have went with the higher end brands! Too good to be true… I bought two of these for my businesses under a year ago. So far nothing but problems with the pumps! One blew up (literally-the ground wire blew off the pump and electrical burning could be smelled) and the other pump on the other hot tub never shuts off. My dealer told me over the phone to contact Nordic as they don’t carry replacement pumps. I contacted Nordic and after a week of back and forth, they wrote back that my dealer was to reach out to me. Almost a week goes by and no further response from Nordic and no call from my dealer. I persistently kept calling my dealer and was able to get a tech out (this is about 3 weeks after the pump broke), tech reported a “bad pump”. However, Nordic now needs to send my dealer a new pump and the dealer then sends the technician back out to replace. This has now been almost 6 days and no update on a new pump. Moral of the story, unreliable hot tubs. Especially, if you are running a business. I’ve unfortunately lost hundreds of dollars now in refunds from the hot tub with the blown up pump and high electric bills with the second hot tub due to this pump not shutting off when it reaches temperature. Both under a year old. Helpful customer service may have fixed the situation but over a month with no resolution is just upsetting from a customer standpoint. Wish I would have went with a more reliable brand
Doug Clendening: Very hard to find things wrong with these tubs for the price. They're almost half as expensive as some of the more well known nation wide brands, gallon for gallon while being jist as effective. We love ours.There are some things they could do better though. We have the Encore LS:- They could use at least one more light underwater. It's especially dull with the jets and air bubbles on.- The cup holders have an opening to let water drain out. However, the openings are so big that drinks can slide into the hot tub.- There's also not enough cup holders. Move the above-water lights below water and put cup holders there in my opinion- On the opposite end, the two far corners hold stagnant water and can't drain naturally- The lay-down seat could use an adjustable neck pad- The "jets 1" button is confusing for guests since it has two modes- But what makes jets 1 worse is that guests also need to know to turn the large circulater jet off to enjoy the rest of "jet 1" jets, so they often think the "jets 1" aren't working properly or are weak- A button for air bubbles would be nice instead of the manual handles- Inline orp/ph/temp monitor would be great. Like the iopool eco.

The company in the UK i bought it from says that Nordic Hot Tubs are not honouring the warranty. . .I am the customer who bought in good faith and I am the one with a brand new hot tub that has a fault.Will go with a better quality brand next time.

Aaron Sahlstrom: I wanted to provide a review of my experience with Nordic Hot Tubs over the past year. A year ago I placed my order, with my dealer saying Nordic offered high quality tubs. There was to be a long wait due to Covid, but then the delivery date was pushed out multiple times. I reached out a couple times, but the Nordic representative would not confirm my order. I finally received my spa 2 months ago, and I noticed the patio remained moist around the tub when the weather dried. So I opened the service hatch and found 1/8 - 1/4 water in the bottom of the tub, and water dripping from a port on the UV/Ozone unit. I looked up the unit and found the installation manual. The manual clearly stated that the unit was to be installed above the water line, or alternatively loop the ozone injector line with the check valve above the water line. This is called a Hartford loop. Nordic installed the entire unit below the water line (in this case below the top jets), and did not implement the Hartford loop. This was either a design problem or a build problem, so while I waited for my dealer to come out, I reached out to Nordic to let them know about the problem so they could correct it for future customers. Rather than being appreciative of the information, they were rude and made vague threats about voiding warranty by opening my equipment, even though their quality issues caused the issue and the installation manual clearly states that the check valve is a serviceable part that must be checked and replaced yearly. While I am early in my ownership of a Nordic Hot Tub, but rather than being an evangelist for the brand, I am left with a very bad taste in my mouth. We all understand that mistakes happen, but it's how you deal with them that makes the difference. P.S. Due to the water that leaked from the ozone generator, it was clear that Nordic does not use stainless steel hardware to mount the heater and pump.
scott doty: I obtained a Nordic Spa from an acquaintance, used and tired. Whenever I've had questions or problems, the staff at Nordic has been amazing. No warranty stuff here, just good people who take pride in their company. The tub is great, and updated w/ new guts with the major help from the folks at Nordic. If a great company behind your product is important to you, BUY NORDIC! My daughter, of course, didn't listen and bought locally. Usually good practice, but not for her. $14,000 later they have a whammy jammy tub with a million jets andMeanwhile I write this as I a waterfall, but can rarely use it due to constant failures of different systems. This is a major brand tub, and it's junk. Meanwhile, I write this as I'm enjoying my awesome Nordic Spa. Oh yeah, I sat in this tub in -15 degree weather this year. Still no problems. BUY Nordic and enjoy your Spa, it shouldn't stress you out. It's for relaxing! And no, I am not affiliated w/Nordic in any way except as a customer. Nordic Spas Rock!

Zagers Pool & Spa: what do users think?
ThIIIrd Person: They use a contracted company to do pool setups and closedowns now, not their own people. It was a much worse experience having them close the pool down vs having it set up, they left hoses attached to pumps and filters and crudely duct taped the connections that were left open. For some reason they dumped all the sand out of our filter, just made a huge mess under the deck with green crystalline sand, and we have dogs who run around out back so it made the yard feel less safe. We called them to complain and they knocked 25% off their fee and said they knew it was an issue, but i feel like replacing all that sand and possibly other parts that were left connected to hoses all winter might end up costing us more in the long run. The store is fine enough but we use our own independent contractor and his pool team for our onsite pool care needs now, we dont trust the guys Zagers hires out to at all.

Todd H: We were looking into doing an in ground pool in Fall of 2020. We had quotes from 3 different pool companies. What made us go with quality was their willingness to be flexible and they had done another pool in our neighborhood recently so we could see their work first hand. We changed our mind on pool layout and Chad was very accommodating. We then switched back to our original plan as we thought the layout suited our backyard better. I felt bad to keep asking for different options but Chad always was kind and provided us the info we needed.Ryan was also helpful. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything that you may not want to hear but he is honest. I’ll give him credit at setting the pool at the perfect elevation. We had a pool house pre built but it was only a guess on our part as to where to locate it. It turned out great. Perfect slope away from the pool and no steps!Their electrical and concrete contractors were amazing. Any issue we had was always addressed timely.Thanks guys for a job well done.

Brad: We had the salesman from Quality Pool and Spa in Grand Rapids come to our house to provide us a quote on an in-ground pool. Ryan stopped out and was able to answer our questions and provide us with several options. We narrowed down our options to a pool from him and a pool from a competitor. After seeing both pools in person from both companies, we decided we were going to go with Quality Pool and Spa and the “Goliath” from Thursday pools as Ryan was also able to get his quote on the Goliath more in line with the quote from the competition for a similar model, in respect to size and shape. We let Ryan know this and set up an appointment in early July to sign the contract on 7/13. While home on vacation we had access to a pool at a family member’s apartment complex. After multiple trips to this pool we got a good feel for what we both really wanted, as far as features in a pool and came to the conclusion that we were settling on the “Goliath”.As a courtesy to Ryan we called him on July 10th to let him know that we were no longer planning to move forward with the “Goliath” as it lacked some features we were looking for and we did not want to settle when spending over 60K. We informed him the model we wanted was the “Wellspring” and understood this would equate to me needing to come up on what I was going to have to spend. We canceled our meeting for the 13th and he committed to getting me his “best and final” on the Wellspring model early that week. I politely requested the sooner the better as if we were not able to come to an agreement with Quality there were still some options with a competitor we had some interest in. I waited until Wednesday the 15th with no word from Ryan. I called him and he apologized for not getting back to me and requested I send him a text to remind him to call me the next morning. His words here... This would ensure he would do his homework on what we had talked about and get me the pricing. I had to laugh as I was having to remind a salesmen to call me to come after 60 something thousand dollars but whatever I just need the quote. I followed up with the requested text and waited for a call. It is now July 31st with multiple texts to Ryan, phone calls to Quality Pool and Spas main office, and an e-mail to the owner of the company. All simply looking for a call back. I fully understand how crazy the pool market is right now and how busy most companies are. This being said, if I can’t get a simple call back from my salesmen when I am looking to sign a contract for over 3 weeks with multiple follow-ups on my end….how will the actual install go? How will any warranty issues go with this company? When I called the main office I kept hearing how busy Ryan is as he wears multiple hats for the company. Again I go back to the questions above, if your company is spread this thin why should I trust you with 60+K of my money?A pool has always been a dream of ours, but this experience has truly killed the excitement of potentially installing a pool and left us leery of dealing with any company. On a side note, the competitor we have also been in talks with that has been incredible on the customer service side is now booked until 2022 so all this waiting has cost us a year on an install if we were to opt to go with them. Potential customers beware when deciding to trust this company with your pool dream and $$$.
Christina Setlock: My pool is heaven, for my family and my three young boys. My husband and I have very high standards in what we wanted for our backyard and what we envisioned for the layout. Quality made it happen. The final product is not just a place to swim but an outdoor living space. It is a long process but it has been worth the wait. I look forward to years of joy and quality out of the products and system that Quality put in. Chad is very knowledgeable at the shop and Ryan is a busy guy but I know I can call him anytime with questions or concerns. We have been in the pool daily since our install 2 months ago.
Tim Ofield: Was told I be helped by Quality Pool and Spa, a few days later they called and said they were unwilling to help me with a Hayward Warranty. I was really excited to have them start servicing my pool needs in the future, unfortunately they don't follow through on what they say they will do.

For the spring opening they pulled the cover off and let all the debris that accumulated over the winter fall into the pool, threw in some chemicals and left. I stopped into their location on Broadmoor and their receptionist guy told me the Gold Plan comes with a once over scrape but “they aren’t gonna sit there all day cleaning each pool”.??? ???? He then told me he could send someone out to clean out the leaves for a fee!!! See the pictures attached, they say it all. (We have been vacuuming for 3 days already)I agree that the pool has a lot of leaves but that is because your team dumped them into the pool from the cover. You also closed the pool during which I was present and there were no leaves in there at closing. And as far as your contract, it surely states pool cleaning is included as I’ve attached in photos. Your response supports your belligerence and lack of professionalism.
Melanie Fleischer: I originally went with Quality because they were the only company that responded to my information requests on fiberglass pools. I was lucky to work with a number of employees who made the process easy and enjoyable, including Ryan, Nick and Chad. My expectations were especially exceeded with Ryan C. Not only is he very knowledgeable, but he has also been readily available when I have/had questions or concerns. He was able to help me visualize and create a plan for my back yard and how it the pool would fit in. He has excellent customer service and a passion for his job that is contagious! I love my pool and I am very happy I went with Quality Pools & Spa.

Russ VandenToorn: Ashley was awesome and very responsive via e-mail and on the phone, we made an appointment on a very challenging issue with some Hayward components of which they are a dealer. The Service tech was not familiar with one of the pieces and after about 3 hours and on the phone to Hayward; they did not resolve the problem. I would have respected them a lot more, if they said, this is beyond us, we cannot help you but they made some changes to the equipment, unhooked other parts of it and told me once I have the two pieces of equipment on two separate breakers, which I knew would make no difference, it would work. Guess what? It did not work, actually it was worse and I am doing trial and error myself with the help of Hayward to getting it all synced. I am sure they are a great company in most areas, just wish they would have been more upfront instead of blaming the way it was installed and especially saying the two components were not designed to work with each other which is clearly not the case. I am revising the review. they at least gave me credit back for all there time and only billed for a service call which I think was very fair. I am raising this from a 1 star to a 4 star

Jon Fitzpatrick: Bought hot tub and everything was smooth including delivery. Had it for about 4 years and needed service as the tub was shutting down due to over heating code. Called in October, serviced in November…. We are now on our 4th or 5th service call and nothing is fixed, I bought a new heater at their suggestion and had it installed because there technicians said that could be the fix. This was about $500. Did not change anything! The service of this place is non existent! There is no communication about the problem or what has been done to fix it within their department. I’m a supporting customer it’s a shame they can’t figure this out and make this right. It has been 7 months and I’m not any closer to getting my hot tub fixed! Do not give this place your business the service is not adequate for the price of the items you will buy. It’s too bad, seems like an easy fix for the service department but will require professional effort on their part. Don’t foresee that happening. Still not fixed going on month 8… service is terrible!

Ron Sheldon /Pool player working to improve: I have refrained from posting any negative info on this company but as of late, I’ve decided to share my experience in terms of this company’s installation of my new Olhausen 8’ pool table purchased from their store. (I’ve never given any/a review before)After the install, (by the store’s installers) I noticed the slate sections did not match/align. After calling the store, the owner returned to address the issue but the mismatch still existed. Later, another issue cropped up as my cloth began to wrinkle around the side pockets. (Champion brand cloth) The store did come back again to attempt to re-stretch. At first, the wrinkles appeared to be gone but soon (within the week) they re-appeared.While addressing this wrinkle issue, an attempt to once again align the slate was made without success. After 5 1/2 months, I then offered to pay the store to come back to fully break down the table to start over. The store said they were booked out and once caught up they were going on vacation and that I may want to opt to have another company take care of the issue. I took them up on this suggestion and within a week, a new installer corrected everything.It should be noted: the new installer noticed the screws holding down the slate had not been tightened during the original install in the area of the greatest mismatch. Also, the cloth was not glued along all edges which I now know is the standard during cloth installation.I am a serious pool player that plays on average 6-8 hours daily. this being said, I’m sorry to give this review as I like the owners but I have to recommend to buyers…they should consider having another outside company do your install if you purchase a table from this store.

Joe Vander Meulen: I can't recommend this company enough. They were very prompt on the quote and provide a breakdown of labor and material. They also provide a quote with several options for pump and filter systems. Furthermore, we were in a real bind as our pump went bad and were having a pool party within 2 weeks. They were able to fit us in their schedule even though it was a big ask. The service people were friendly and professional. They did an excellent job with the work. They cleaned up great and took the time to show my wife how everything worked.

Chris Hain: They were super helpful. They had what I needed when I called and then set aside those items at the front desk so I could save time when I got there. I called different store about 3 hours prior to ACME PURE BLU and they thought they had what I needed and offered to call back after looking but never followed through. The staff at APB was super friendly and there prices were right in line with those I found online. We will definitely be returning there for our future pool needs.

Joy McLaren: One of the absolute worst experiences with a contractor during the 2017 pool season. Too many issues to describe. Then I find out in 2018 they did not shut down and blow out water lines properly in fall 2017 so there has been 3 days of plumbing repairs needed in the pool bathhouse for the Georgetown of Grand Rapids condo community. DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR FOR POOL SERVICE!

The work was exceptional! The prep work was tidy, we were kept informed about progress and the job was completed as quickly as the weather permitted! We are thrilled with results that truly exceeded our expectations. We would (and have) recommended Acme.
