Lisa Klenk: I reviewed this shop a year ago when I read a spotlight piece in GR Magazine and bought my first houseplants for myself rather than as gifts for others. Those plants are thriving still, with the yucca cane tripling in size. I continue to find a mix of unique plants as well as the more commonly seen houseplants. He (the owner) maintains not only an inventory that is consistently refreshed with a wide variety of plants so there are always new and different species. I really like that there is clearly also attention being paid to price points. You do not have to have an East GR bank account to walk shop here. I see a good selection of plants in a 10-30$ range, as well as in the 30-100$ range, and then of course the larger and/or more exotic types can go above that. Important to note that no matter what price point any plant there is at, I've always found the quality, health, and growth to be excellent across the board. I could go on and on about how much of a gem this shop is, but I absolutely advise that you visit and see for yourself. If you want an idea of what to expect, their social media profiles are updated regularly with what is available, and growing requirements are provided as well in those postings.
max little: Unfortunately the owner here Danny told me a price for a plant and when I came back to purchase it I was told it would be 100.00 more than I was originally told will take my business across the street to the plant shop where they’re more honest/ helpful since I drove over a hour to shop here

You won’t find the low prices of big box stores here but it’s clear they buy absolutely top grade plants. I would rather spend a bit more on a plant that is not stressed out and set myself up for success. Plus, the service and knowledge (during the buying process and any help I need after) is unbeatable. I can’t recommend this place enough. Run there now.

Sharon Goss: Cute little store with lots of plants. My only complaint was that they didn't have ANY plants that were non toxic to pets so I had to leave empty handed. The clerk, however, was very sweet and helpful. She wrote a list of all the plants that they carry that are safe to have around animals so the next time I come in i will know immediately what to ask for. If this isn't an issue I'm sure you will love it. They had many gorgeous plants!

Kay Schultetus: This place is amazing. My parents shopped here 60+ years ago. Romence has grown into so much more than a place to buy plants. It's almost a destination to just walk through and breathe. I especially like their "native to Michigan" varieties.

But this company has really knocked it out of the park as far as customer service, plant, quality and shipment and presentation.They are quick with responses, and my shipment literally got to my house 4 days after I placed the order! Romence is where I get the most of my house plants, they have a fabulous selection, but the younger employees need to learn it's the customer that is needed to give them a job.

So they kept the money, sent out a shipping notification, then proceeded to tell the truth. What an absolute waste of time. Not worth the price I would have paid anyway. Found a cheaper one elsewhere by someone reputable.
Charmin Riedesel: Ordered 5 grasses I couldn't find anywhere else in June and was told they'd ship August 15th. Haven't heard anything so I messaged them. They said unfortunately we won't get anymore of these but we'll issue a refund. Well id hope so! I've waited on these for 2 months and you didn't know there was an issue until I contacted you? Very disappointed. Definitely won't order again especially if its not in immediate stock for shipment

Went today and picked up perennials, annuals, and herbs! Good sale in June.

I ended up buying two small plants and two gold hands as decorative pieces and I love both. They also have tons of other plants that are so unique and unusual for the area. The quality of the plants were pretty impressive, definitely better cared for than a big box store. There are also unique small gifts like incense, loose leaf tea, and small shells/gem stones. Definitely coming back closer to the holiday season! So glad I found this place!

The cashier didn't want to give me a piece of tissue paper to put over the large hole in the ceramic pot that I bought. She told me I had to go buy one back by the house plants and she called someone to go back and help me. No one came. So I bought a plastic drainage pot and had to cut out the bottom of it to make that work. Then I asked her may I borrow your scissors for a second. And she said no she didn't want to ruin her scissors so she was going to look for the crappiest pair she could find. And she gave me a pair that barely even cut the flimsy plastic. Very rude not helpful at all! I am a florist and shop here often. But will not from this day forward

Wide variety of pots, soils, fertilizers, etc. Lots of plants, too, however, the greenhouse area was overcrowded with plants and it was almost impossible to walk along the narrow aisles (even with a small-ish cart) without damaging the leaves and branches of the many potted plants on the floor. Flower land, there has to be a better way, who wants to buy plants that are all beaten up and tattered?I wanted to shop more, but was frustrated trying to make my way.
