Katherine Strong: They did a decent job with our sprinkler installation. However, they installed far more sprinklers than were actually necessary for our lawn, which has caused flooding and overwatering. Make sure you know exactly what they're installing before they come out and that your price reflects that. They also completely tore up our lawn and left massive tire tracks everywhere, which we had to then pay for landscaping to fix, and they caused some minor damage to our fence. And they're very slow about coming back out if you need any corrections made after the installation - if they manage to come back at all. They will need access to your garage for installing the control panel, so you'll want to be sure they're communicating with you about when they'll do the installation and that you're at home and available. Overall, we're satisfied with our system but definitely had some issues with fixes that needed to be made and are still struggling today with too much water in certain areas of our lawn. Larry Groendyk: I had my underground sprinkling installed this year in July. In am very impressed with the quality of work they had.. The service has been great! I needed to have some sprinkler directions tweaked a little and they came right out. When they arrived the city had just been in front of our house to fix some sidewalks and a small section had been removed so SOAK was able to lay a pipe down so that I could have a couple of sprinkler heads put between the street and sidewalk. They were able to do this for a very reasonable price since there was no need to tunnel under the sidewalk. I would highly recommend them!

Chad their irrigation department manager followed up on everything. I had a smaller issue with the lawn being uneven in some places after the dig, due to excessive tree branches in my older city lot. Chad sent the guys out and they happily tweaked a few things until I was totally happy. S H: I could not believe the rushed personality the scheduler had and when I said this was my first time dealing with sprinkler systems. She asked for an email and when I told her I didn’t want to give that information out, she told me that he only communicates through email (despite asking for phone number) and that I need to give her the information despite telling her I didn’t feel comfortable. What happens when someone calls during this difficult time and doesn’t have email access because bills are tight so they dropped internet and this lady only reminds them of what they lost?I’m not sure why he only communicates through email. Mary Saliers: I called because of a water leak in the system. I was told there would be a two month wait for service and should either shut down the system (90 degree weather, or pay an exorbitant water bill). I was not told there would be an $88.00 service fee to replace a $2.95 washer. He also replaced 2 batteries ($7.90) in the rain sensor that hasn’t worked in11 years since the day they installed it. Short of cutting down 10 oak trees or laying the sensor in the eaves trough, it won’t work, under a canopy (think umbrella) of oak leaves. We told them 11 years ago it wouldn’t work. Four days after their service man was here, I received the bill. Obviously their billing department is more efficient than their service department. Along with the bill was multiple notifications that I had 10 days to pay the bill. Seriously! I can wait 2 months but they can only wait 10 days. Schedule with fliers early before the season starts and they get booked.I will share my experience, and while it is anecdotal, I hope you will see why I gave the rating I did. Bought our first house and it had sprinkling. Had fliers come out to winterize and setup in spring. Everything was good for 2 seasons. 3rd season I was late in setting my appointment and sadly needed to get a different company out. Grand rapids sprinkling come out to turn on the system...only to receive a voicemail from them saying turning on the sprinklers was impossible due to the boat. I was confused, this was not a problem for me the first 2 years, previous owner never mentioned an issue. Before I could return the call, another GRS employee had come to the house explaining the first guy just wasn't sure(didnt know) what to do. So, ok...2nd guy was out and said it was my pump that was broke..ok.... i said can you fix it...said yes...ok..as he removed the pump he literally busted the wooden house enclosure lol. Didnt pull the pump straight up and out, just decided to hammer out a side of the pump house. So, after 2 visits I had no sprinklers, a handful of excuses, a broken pump, and now a broken pump house. The language barrier was not an issue as I've worked with individuals where English is not their primary language, and I was able to comprehend the information. 3rd visit they returned and installed the pump and got the water running. Employee said everything was good, I took his word. Got home and did my walk around. 2 sprinklers were still stuck underground, and the pumphouse still destroyed. We will never use gr sprinkling, again. I'd rather have dead grass then more headaches. 4th season is covid season! Guy came out today and spent a good 3 hours fixing and fixing and fixing all the details that had been neglected last season. I'm so grateful we were able to get fliers back. The difference was everything. Night and day. Maybe my circumstances were coincidental? Lots of maybes, maybe I should let GRS earn back my business, maybe covid is a conspiracy lol..but what's certain is that fliers was more knowledgeable, more patient with the job, and just does a better job.

Had great communication during the whole process, but once the large bill was paid and we needed smaller help, they aren’t as accommodating. Have a problem in April with your system, they will get someone out in June to check it out. Need a line capped for a job (20 mins of work). They will get someone out in a few months to help.

Andrea Rogers: I am very happy I decided to go with Fliers for the installation of my underground sprinkling system. Rick Vander West is very professional, punctual, answered all my questions, and was always prompt in returning phone calls. The crew began pulling in the irrigation hose one afternoon and finished the job the next day. It basically took a day and a half. They cleaned up after themselves, and didn't leave any clumps or piles of dead grass behind. I had 3 estimates from competitors and Fliers actually came in $5. less than the other two. Had Fliers been a bit higher I still would have picked them. As my Daddy taught me, "you get what you pay for!"

They did cut an electrical line that ran to a lift pump and although they fixed it, it failed a few month later. Jon Bouck: Lead Technician Jeremy Wysocki was able to fix an electrical issue with our sprinkler system within 20 minutes. That was after our original irrigation company had failed to do so with four visits and hours and hours of attempts. They sent their best who spent 3-4 hours, and couldn’t get done what Jeremy solved in 29 minutes of investigation. Not only helped solve this issue, but fixed up a couple other connections and re set the turf moved for repairs. Great, fast, and professional service.
