Downtown Grand Rapids Inc.: what do users think?
Jon: Beautiful city with big city vibes but much nicer! Every the occasional begger seems nicer and more put together.
Kristi Bektas: I would like to give a huge shoutout to the Downtown Ambassadors with DGRI. About 11 years ago, I lived, worked, and went to school in downtown GR. I was brought back downtown in February 2022 when I began working with a local business, and WOW how the city has changed! Being down here on a regular basis, you truly get to see how hard our city works to beautify the downtown area. The "little" things (or what may go unnoticed by many) like new trash cans, consistently updated landscaping, and friendly Ambassadors who go above & beyond to assist those in need are the reason Grand Rapids is continuing to improve and flourish. I would like to thank one Downtown Ambassador in particular, Thibs, who only ever has a smile on his face! He frequently checks in with the business I work with, and it is obvious how much pride he takes in his role to improve our city. As an example, the other day he stopped by while on his route, and I had a question for him about our new trash cans along Monroe Center (were there now other designated areas to recycle cans). He was unsure of the answer, but he took the time to radio his team to find out. I also was asking him for advice on The Rapid bus system, because I would like to share with others how they can take advantage of alternative forms of transportation to make it downtown. He not only answered the questions I had, but he showed me a couple apps I could download to view the bus routes & offered his personal advice. Thank you Thibs, we appreciate you!
Celeste Mc: Quiet city during the day. I didn’t have the opportunity to go in the night but not many people around which is nice. The weather was excellent in May.
S S: Don't go for the ice sculptures. There r a few downtown, no singing tree, and the piano is broken. It was advertised but that was hype cuz it was a rip-off.
Mari Sundell: DGRI has done many amazing things for and to downtown Grand Rapids. One of the many great things they've done was bringing Block By Block Ambassadors to downtown. They offer hospitality services, and perform a wide variety of cleaning task. DGRI is also host to many great seasonal events, most of which are all family friendly. If you're thinking about starting a small business in downtown Grand Rapids, these are the people you want to reach out to. They will assist with getting your recognition for your opening, and will be sure to send downtown ambassadors your way to assist however they can.
Dawn Sneathen: Don’t go downtown at all. The parking is a horrible situation!
Laura Sheppard: A lot to see.
Alex Benda: This place is driving the growth in this city! A large part of what makes me happy to own a business in Grand Rapids!
Ernesto Fernandez: Great place to cruise and does have nice places to see
Barbara Miles: Most of the time it's ok but I live downtown and all the bars not so good on weekends the people get drunk and scream a lot
Alagar Gandhi: Great place to settle down. Breweries, Restaurants, Museums, Library, University and many.
Eddie Tadlock: Friendly staff and great location to meet.
Romy Karlen: Beautiful Place
M Ted Droski: They do great work!
Melvin Brantley: Made it to all the places we wanted to see, so much to see in Grand Rapids
Nancy Cuncannan: They do what ever they want without asking the parks department for permission, it's nuts!!!! They don't think, just spontaneously act...ugh!
K PAGE: Nice area!
The Notorious: They're tryin!
Coy Davis: Office for downtown businesses

Dwelling Place of Grand Rapids: what do users think?
Derrick D. Simmons Sr.: First and foremost customer service sucked!!! I will be shredding this application due to the fact no one sounds like they know what their doing. Hasta la Vista!!!!
Tara Chinn: Dwelling place is m
Richard Williams: The people that run the front dest of this company are horrendous. Rude and confrontational. I feel sorry for the people that live under these conditions. The worst of the worst.
Ronnie Hammond-Bowen: If I could give less than 1 I would. Here’s why. My kiddo’s father has been living at an Independent Assisted Facility for 3 years now. Always paid on time and thought they were great that is until he hit End of Life Hospice with hours to maybe a day to live. It’s at the end of the month and I asked if we would have to pay for a full month if he passes before the 5th when the rent is due. Not only to I have to pay a full month but they also require a 30 day notice of Terminating the Lease!! So here I may have to pay not one but two months of rent! I was also told that because he doesn’t have a Living Will filed with Probate that the minute his body is removed they LOCK HIS DOOR with a security lock and nothing can be removed until Probate Court orders it ( $1000+) . He only has the one kiddo and no one is arguing that all of his things go to his kiddo!!Why didn’t they tell us this from the beginning? Why didn’t they tell us when he entered Hospice Care? Why did they wait until he’s knocking on death’s door? Completely Uncaring and Wrong!!!
Sandra D Sanders: Haven't had any issues there.
Deb Lyons: I lived here and it was not a great experience. They have too much authority and rules that are not applied to everyone . So if you are a free thinker don't need the mom n dad aspect run the other way they are shady only at dwelling place properties does a land lord have that much control over you and your guests. They tear apart friendships and your confidence in your self once you are on the barred list it almost impossible to get off of it. 5 yrs since I lived there and in order to visit my friend I have to jump through hoops. Take classes to visit my friends ? Where else in the city does this happen other then a nursing home . If you value your freedom and civil right do not sign that lease
Allen Savage: Great place, special Kimmie, ( although she is a bit of a monkey)
Vanessa M Mielke: Finding My Resources.
Cory Modzeleski: This is an awesome agency for those of us in need of low-income subsidized housing. I rented from their New Hope Homes for 4 years and loved it! Beautiful home. The managers and maintenance staff were always really friendly. They take great care if their properties. I also have 2 friends living in their Weston Apartments and have spent a lot of time there and they both have really nice apartments and tell me the staff there is really friendly too. I would strongly recommend any of there properties.
Samuel Keller: By far one of the most corrupt multi-family housing providers in Michigan.
Linda Heard: I Live In The Lenox Apartments And I'm Happy.
Dan Maloney: Great income based housing. Caring people with a great support staff.
JerBear45 FineasWine: Suppose to be here to help ppl ... manager of Perter leimn apts .. very rude..and evicting my daughter and her baby for rent thats due this month..Smh heartlesss
Laqwone Thurmond: They don't return phone calls
James: I was trying to get help in finding reasonable housing but they were not very helpful except to give me a couple of papers to look else where...
Annette Vandenberg: They live their motto " everyone deserves a dwelling place"
kris duttlinger: I moved into Roosevelt Apartments in Muskegon Heights and have copd. My neighbors smoke and have continued to smoke in their apartment for an entire year.
Tim: Poor place to live at. Company just wants there rent and refuse to put money back into buildings fix anything
Sarah Heard: Gives good information list of all the apartments 36 plus have applications to apply
Deanna Robinson: Not a help nasty and rude and love to discriminate and blackball low income and homeless persons, does not help the community unless your a young child having children out of wedlock with no good young boys or a drug addict or alcoholic.
Sabrina Wheeler: It good but they are so stupid
