Arna Mulac: The most unprofessional, unkept, disrespectful, and insensitive place in Grand Rapids. If you have another option to lay your loved one to rest, TAKE IT. Work orders are not handled in a timely manner (if at all), maintenance of grave sites is done primarily by families, and management is far from friendly and empathetic. Worst of all, headstones surrounding my dad's were placed too close due to the lack of appropriate measurement. It's a shame that this business is still running.

Mike Naughton: 30 years ago this place was absolutely beautiful......today it is in shambles. My father was laid to rest here in June 2019 and my family is appalled at the sight and care of this place. The once beautiful fountains are broke down and full of algae and critters. The irrigation is not working. The grounds are unkept and the gravestones are overgrown. Something must be done! I smell a lawsuit!
Kayla lynn: They lost my friends mothers urn and ashes and have said or done anything about it. Will not return any calls and wont even give her the depost back. I do not recommend.
Janet Dahlke: I can't not believe the poor condition inside the mausoleum....where my parents are buried for the last several years the floors have alot of water on them where it is really unsafe to go into their space to visit.Last year they told me they were going to dig on the outside and fix the constant leaking of water...well here it is over a year later and nothing has been done. Shame on you. So disrespectful to the families.

chris kopecky: This is Grand Rapids premier historic cemetery offering the most gravesites from deceased residents whose names you will recognize from the area's streets, schools, hospitals and parks. I tend to prefer the rolling hills and monuments of the south cemetery, although the north does have an impressive veterans section. Of final note there is a brood of wild turkeys that roam here and the Tom can be particularly inquisitive and can come off as threatening if you're not used to dealing with turkeys, be forewarned.

Chasman Rose: Very peaceful. Great place to enjoy history and some nature as you'll see many beautiful trees and monuments as well as many different types of birds including Hawks and turkeys.
Amanda: There is another reason for coming here, rather than hanging out with the spirits.That reason is:. Pokemon GO. This has pokestops galore... and 3 gyms. Great area to walk too

JEFF KREMERS: Ordered and paid for 2 headstones in October of 2021. It's now April 14 of 2022 and they still have not been delivered to the cemetary. I heard every excuse from COVID to "it rains" and "sometimes employees get sick". Grandville cemetary has been setting cement foundations since February. Nothing but empty excuses. Would never recommend or use this company again.

Right On Track: Besides human gravestones and cemetary markers, this company also offers pet memorial stones, like the kind you'd put in a garden and/or next to a backyard burial site. What makes Black Monument Company stand out is that they actually do the etching of the words right there in-house vs. a couple other places I called in town (pet cemetaries like Noah's) where they have to send away for custom stones, which takes days or weeks and costs more money. I was very happy with Black Monument Co - the pet grave marker they designed is a perfect sweet way to honor the memory of my dear departed furry friend.

Stephen Perry: I went to visit a friend's grave
Tom Staskiewicz: Beautiful setting. Office staff is extremely helpful for locating family member information to add to your family history. I was searching for information on a great uncle and having problems. We ended up searching hand copied records and found the information. A search by plot located the electronic record which had a typo preventing a successful search. They corrected the record so others can now locate the information. Fantastic knowledge and help.

Cindy S: I went to the cemetery today and was very saddened! The place is covered with weeds, not grass and looks as if it's been vacated of caregivers! If you are looking to purchase a plot, PLEASE go look in person, it is not what you see in these pictures. Follow up on your loved one very throughly, in 2008, they buried my Dad in the wrong plot!
Linda Mccarty: Terrible customer service. Took my moms marker off to add date and lost it. Had to reorder new marker and took over a year to get it back on. Terrible .nobody answers phones. Place looks so neglected.I 3 more plots and can not even give them away place is a dump.
Meghan Klein: My grandfather has been gone 8 years as of February 2023. Well, you wouldn’t know it because grass has hardly grown and it looks like we buried him last month. Our family has begged and pleaded with this place to get it together so we can have closure and they have yet to prove themselves. BEWARE!!! DO NOT TRUST THIS PLACE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES FINAL RESTING PLACE!! THEY DO NOT CARE! AWFUL!!!!!!
Rebecca Vogel: StoneMor bought this place a few years ago but even before then care had been declining. Now it's despicable. Driving over markers, breaking them and the urns, crushing wreaths and flags, leaving trenches everywhere... The roads are full of potholes... No one cares for this place anymore
Mi E: This cemetery failed us. We paid $7400.00 up front for our father to be buried in this cemetery. We did our due diligence in ordering everything thinking that they would be diligent in properly carrying out the agreement. My father was a veteran and we ordered a veterans marker to be placed on his grave. The cemetery staff informed us that because it was a veteran's marker it would take approximately three months and they wouldn't put any markers on the grave until the spring. This was back in November. I visit the cemetery on a pretty regular basis and in the spring they did put a granite slab and bronze marker down for my mother, but my father's marker was missing. I inquired as to what was going on with the marker. They told me they would check into it, then they wouldn't return my phone calls. I finally called the VA to find out what was going on. It turns out the cemetery staff NEVER ORDERED THE MARKER!!! It had been 6 months. I certainly expected it to be there by Memorial Day. I had to order the marker from the VA myself and have it sent to my home. I would not recommend this cemetery to others they neither answer nor return phone calls. Not once did ANYONE there apologize for this huge mistake.
Steve Grusczynski: Tried calling them to many time. My wife tried calling them as well. Left voice messages. No call backs. Finally got to talk with someone. Said mother's head stone would be there in couple weeks. Been months still nothing. Supposed to be there in January now. Waiting on deeds to my to grave sites. Said send deeds in week. Been months. Time for help. So. It's been 3 weeks since this review. I did get the deeds for the 2 plots. Said the head stone came in the day of review. So it's been 3 weeks they have had the headstone and it's still not put in. The ground is not frozen here. But the weather is going to get cold. I thought after talking with the manager it would be resolved. I can't believe they wanted me to change my review. I would have edited it. Time for better business.
Brittany Clarke: Made call after call after call. Left messages. Finally went in and talked with someone. Took a couple hours f hours to find the paperwork from my grandpa's burial. Head stone wasn't paid for at that time but when it was the headstone still isn't on the burial spot. I went there in May it was paid for in June and we'll the headstone still isn't there. If the headstone wasn't paid for 3 years ago why not reach out to the family? I don't live in town so it takes me a little bit to get the time off work to get there. I understand with the cold weather but with 4 month of which it could have been placed and it still isn't. But trying to get a hold of anyone here is next to impossible.

Scott Lewis: It was a pleasure working with Eric Reed. With Eric's help the service was thoughtful and well organized and was appriciated by everyone. He was very accommodating regarding the grave markers for both of our parents. He was even able to have a butterfly added to our mother's marker which she would have loved.
Amanda Lenover: Eric started here a few months before my family came in to arrange burial plans for plots we already owned, my mother & grandfather. Eric did nothing but explain everything so thoroughly, which made such a painful process and time in our lives so much easier on us. Helped us arrange the addition to a previous headstone, helped set up a printed image of a head stone for my mother and he confirmed everything so well. He’s been in constant contact to arrange our burial plans in mid July, as we did all these arrangements months ago he still has kept in steady contact to check in on us and help us out with whatever we needed. He seriously has been a true god send to our family while we navigate this moment for our family to put them at rest and say our goodbyes. The compassion he has given us is unlike any other. I am unbelievably thankful for all that he has done and appreciate his kind soul so dearly.

Joyce Northouse: My sister came home on March 26th, 2022 from North Carolina and the first thing we do when she comes back to town is go visit our mother, and this year we were there to visit our mother and father, just to arrive and see that there is no headstone whatsoever. I buried my father last June and they said they were replacing the granite because it split into two when they buried my father. It’s been nine months and still no stone nor name plate. My mother has been buried here for 20yrs and now I’m dealing with them not being able to tell me where my parents headstone is. Very disrespectful for the deceased and the families grieving. I WANT TO KNOW WHERE MY MOTHERS AND FATHERS STONE IS. All I got was give me two weeks cuz the managers on vacation. Unacceptable!!

Sydney Lang: Nobody can appreciate history and respect those past if it's locked forever. The purpose of cemeteries is for visitation. Violates the literal purpose. Disrespectful in my opinion.
chris kopecky: St Andrew's Cemetery is a stunningly beautiful and historic cemetery just south of downtown Grand Rapids and its St. Andrew's Cathedral. The cemetery is unfortunately kept under lock and key due to several instances of vandalism. However, this should not deter you from visiting, but will necessitate a little planning. Access is gained by obtaining a key through the archivist office at the Diocese of Grand Rapids. Although mostly volunteers, they have been extremely helpful and generous with their time as well as putting in a heroic effort to discover and preserve the early history of Grand Rapids. With a little planning and patience you will be rewarded with an incredible visit to this historic cemetery.
David Smith: Saint Andrew's Catholic Cemetery was established in 1853 - it is the oldest remaining Catholic Cemetery in Grand Rapids. The cemetery is normally locked, but is open to the public during the Memorial Day period and other days of remembrance. I am a volunteer here, and am always amazed at the beauty and history that I see before me. The cemetery phone number is shown above. The staff has been nothing less than helpful to me.
Erik Nelson: The best that I can discover, this cemetery is always closed and inaccessible. There are high fences with high gates, and the gates are always locked, no matter what time of day. I have been trying for two months to get into this cemetery to fulfill a FindAGrave request for photograph of a headstone. ALWAYS LOCKED!
