Black Monument: what do users think?
Gary Lepsch: Just wanted to give a review for Black Monument and their professional staff. They are a busy place but do an awesome job of getting back to you with advice and pricing. Very Helpful! Their pricing is very fair and they are very patient and professional! Shout-out to Greg for all his help and patience!
Thomas Evans: Thank you Shelley! You were so helpful to me in getting a headstone. It was a unique request for my great uncle who died as a baby with the influenza epidemic of 1918, he never got a marker. You helped me through all the decisions, some I had no clue like the lettering and shiny or mat finish.I can’t wait to see the finished product when it’s delivered. Thanks again Shelley!
Esther Muehlberger: I received excellent service and very pleased with the results of the monument ordered. Every person I spoke with at Black Monument during this process was very pleasant and accommodating. I highly recommend using Black Monument and dealing directly with them, not through a 3rd party.
JEFF KREMERS: Ordered and paid for 2 headstones in October of 2021. It's now April 14 of 2022 and they still have not been delivered to the cemetary. I heard every excuse from COVID to "it rains" and "sometimes employees get sick". Grandville cemetary has been setting cement foundations since February. Nothing but empty excuses. Would never recommend or use this company again.
Cheryl L Tutson: Very reasonable prices, great staff.
Brent Peterson: Good people
Carolyn Devries: Beautiful stones, large selection and helpful personnel
Jimmie Floyd Jr: They really take the time to work within your means and what you can afford during your time of losing a love one with great respect for your lost.
M Arreola: Helpful
Fred Kaiser: Won Redwings tickets in a social media give away and we're the worst tickets you could get.. very top of the arena behind the Gondola.
Debbie Lampani: Very helpful and caring people
Right On Track: Besides human gravestones and cemetary markers, this company also offers pet memorial stones, like the kind you'd put in a garden and/or next to a backyard burial site. What makes Black Monument Company stand out is that they actually do the etching of the words right there in-house vs. a couple other places I called in town (pet cemetaries like Noah's) where they have to send away for custom stones, which takes days or weeks and costs more money. I was very happy with Black Monument Co - the pet grave marker they designed is a perfect sweet way to honor the memory of my dear departed furry friend.

Grand Rapids Monument Inc: what do users think?
David Krishef: This company is not answering the phone and their answering machine/voicemail doesn't accept messages. I am working with a person who is trying to complete a monument for an unveiling service and we have had to postpone/cancel twice because they have not followed through.
Jennifer Willoughby: You need to call me 4584645 asap before I call 13 on your side

Patten Monument Co: what do users think?
Randy VanderBoon: Very good selection and knowledgeable sales people
Wayne & Joyce Kinstner: Excellent! From all points.
karen kitler: They were very helpful and understand
Angela Greene (Maar): Great selection and service. They provide a great attention to detail, a compassion for the importance of the items they are helping to build, and a dedication to seeing each order through for complete customer satisfaction.
NannasBaNannas: Our parents monument (bench) turned out beautiful! Pictures can't really show the detail and beauty of this bench. My parents would be so proud. Thank you Scott, for keeping me posted about the progress. I know it was more difficult during covid with the slow shipment. Thank you for following our design and changes that were made...the bench is exactly as we hoped and more.
Alex Majewski: Thanks for headstone
Chuck Riccioni: Nice service. Details, details.
Phoebe Dale: This company took the headstone for my husband and myself to the cemetery and dropped it of by a tree on the opposite side from where my husband was buried. Never said a word to anyone. This was on the 10th of May.My daughter just so happen to drive down one of the driveways she never goes down and found it. She contacted the person that sold us the headstone in Mattawan MI. The headstone was engraved in Grand Rapids. So whom dropped the ball? Not the seller, but the engraver and setters. Thanks to the sellers boss the headstone was finally set on 14th of May. My daughter and myself should not have to raise hell for them to do their job properly. Never again.
Catherine Upjohn: The monument stone I ordered for my brother has supposedly been finished now. They don't know if they can locate it to send me a photo. The salesperson was friendly at first, then rude and totally unresponsive. I ordered another stone for my cousin, this time through Patten Michigan Monument - Relatives, but a Very different company, and experience. They were easy to work with, came up with wonderful suggestions, and I highly recommend them. They are smaller, and/but Far superior to Patten Monument Co
Bill Chesnic: Given the ratings, I'm disappointed. I felt like Mark was selling me a set of tires...no empathy...maybe been doing it too long? I attempted to interrupt him twice but hung up.
Bianca Johnson: They were nothing but wonderful. There are two Patterns Monument Co and we made an appointment with the other one but Google Maps directed us to this one. Not being from the area we didn't realize we were going the wrong way until about the 45 mintues into the drive, by then it was too late to try an turn around. Didn't realize that they were completely different companies until after we walked in the door. But they still saw us even without an appointment. We met with Mark and he was super sweet in guiding us thought the process of getting a headstone for our mother. The way everything ended up really make you think that sometimes things aren't really accidents that some things are just met to happen.
Lori Porter: Headstones were late and wasn't right but they gave 100% to fixing the problem
Julie Baker: Andy is wonderfull
Carl Wellborn: I'm very happy and was treated very well
R. AR.: Amazing company couldn't ask for a better company to work with during such a hard time
Sally Grayvold: Excellent workers, product and satisfaction guaranteed. Ask for Marc. He will take good care of your needs.
Erich Dewey: Looking for a great job with easily to get along with people. This job might be for you. Family owed and good pay stop in and check us out. Happy current worker. If your looking for sum great custom work on headstones or countertops this is your place.
Christa Hooker: Excellent service, respectful, compassionate
Mike Lusk: Nice headstones prices little high
littlelisaturner: The work this company does appears very nice which is why I attempted to use their services. I called on a Friday and asked if I should schedule an appointment to discuss what we were looking to purchase, I was told to just stop by anytime. My husband and I stopped by the following Saturday morning in hopes of discussing what we were interested in. There weren't any other customers when we arrived and when we were finally greeted, it was rather rudely and we felt like intruders instead of customers. We attempted to discuss what were interested in for a good half hour and got basically no where. The man we were working with basically told us we would need to do all the leg work in working with the cemetery to determine what their regulations and offered zero assistance in doing so. Found a different company to work and had a night and day experience. Wouldn't even consider using Patten in the future unless I knew they learned out how to treat a customer!

Snyder Monuments LLC: what do users think?
Angie Fitzpatrick: After very little experience in this field, and searching to have a headstone made for my brother I came across Snyder Monuments. I worked with Randy; he was very kind and handled my indecisiveness, and perfectionism very well. He made a challenging and emotional task doable. We were able to get the monument in time for the Anniversary of my brothers birthday, and before the snow fell during a pandemic. Highly recommend!

Michigan Monument Co.: what do users think?
Matt Weber: AWESOME little place with PHENOMENAL prices. Got a Bird Bath and a little mushroom for $30.Definitely will be returning for another bath & some stepping stones, maybe a few figures for the kids to paint up for the garden!!
Donald Bigelow: What a nice small business to work with. In this Covid/supply chain issue market, it may have been a little longer than normal lead time. But even with these challenging issues they were very responsive and professional with our family. Worth the wait and a great job on the monument. We highly recommend them.
Kristen Merritt: We absolutely love our stone! They did an amazing job making our vision come true!
Prince Of Panic: I've been a couple times in the past few weeks. Really cool selection, great prices and kind employees. Check it out!
Josh Godfrey: My father in law passed away unexpectedly three weeks ago. This has been a very difficult time for our family, and then we get a letter in the mail, requesting we utilize this service for a headstone. The fact that this company has the tenacity to go through the obituaries and act as vultures is beyond me. It’s honestly remarkable that a company like this exist. I award you no stars and am curious what is helping you sleep at night; that could be helpful for us while we grieve.
Jennifer Tornga: I am completely appalled that this company would go through obituaries and track down grieving people and then send letters as if they knew them asking for business at a difficult time. That’s not how we want to be approached or approached by anyone who would take this method of securing business.
Austin Coyer: Great family owned company with amazing options for markers. Their custom work is spectacular
Walter Strickler: Purchased a beautiful headstone for my son who passed and I purchased a monument as well for my wife and I. I felt they were thoughtful and caring of our feelings, I recommend them to everyone I know!
Sandy DeKryger: Informative, helpful and reasonably priced
Madalyn Fenway: My father passed away many years when I was 19. I did not have any part in purchasing the headstone. My mother and brother did that. Being that it was hard for me I did not go back to the cemetery. My mother passed away in 2012. When we went to the cemetery for her funeral I told my sister that my fathers name was spelled wrong on the headstone. In April because I was moving I was going through all of my mothers papers and came across the original paperwork for the purchase. My fathers name was spelled correctly on the paperwork which my mother signed off on. I called Monument and told Jennifer. She spoke with the owners and they said it could not be fixed, it would have to be replaced and it was expensive to do that. She said that they didn't use the same company to make them anymore so it would be very costly. Well I am sorry BUT they are responsible for the mistake. They were the ones my mother paid to do the job and it was done wrong. But they are not going to do anything about it. So my fathers name is going to be spelled wrong thanks to them.
Phil Haney: My mother passed away unexpectedly 2 months ago. My father passed away unexpectedly 9 days later. His funeral was 2 weeks to the day after hers. I received a form letter from Michigan Monument company today dated a month ago. Expected it to be a notice from the monument company that my father purchased their headstone from several years ago stating that the their death dates had been added to their headstone. I couldn't remember what company he had used. No, instead it's a solicitation letter from Michigan Monument. They expressed their sympathy for my mother's passing.Half expecting another letter two weeks from now for my father's passing. LolDon't need their services, don't want their junk mail. Don't plan on buying one for myself. I can easily locate them on my phone if needed.Until then, they can buzz off.

Lowell Granite Company: what do users think?
Jen Sobie: Our family has been pleased with the good level of service.
Sobie Painting: Very professional, courteous and compassionate for our loss from start to finish. Becky has been helpful through the process. Our family will recommend.
donald callender: I have used them twice in the last 4 years and both times we had great service and craftsmanship. I highly recommend them
Laurie Randall: I've reached out as Lowell Granite has done fantastic work for many markers for my family... and yet reaching out lately both by phone... which isn't answered and goes to voicemail, and email and a follow up email... absolutely ZERO response. Poor way to do business if you ask me.
Jessica: I am giving a 1 star rating and I hope others will find this helpful as I intend on giving lots of details as to why such a rating. My dad passed away unexpectedly at a young age just a couple weeks ago. I have several siblings and we all felt it was important to go as a family with my mom to design a headstone. I scheduled an appointment with Lowell Granite and told them we would have 7 adults in our party. When we showed up, the lady at the front desk greeted us by loudly saying "I was told 7. You have WAY more than 7". We had 7 adults and 4 very young toddlers/infants with us (we are a large, close-knit family and are grieving the loss of our dad/husband/papa). We were rudely and quickly informed that we would have to all put masks on including our young toddlers and those medically exempt, we would have to social distance from each other as well as from the worker, and that we would not all be allowed into the building at the same time. I tried to explain that we are family and have all been together during our loss anyway, but was interrupted as she said it didn't matter and it was her job to protect us from ourselves. Remember, we all came together for support and to work together to design a piece to honor my dad. This was all said in shortness, rudeness, and without any care for us. She did not offer to accommodate us in any way (offering masks for those without, offering to meet outside, etc.). I want to give an accurate and courteous description of our experience. From what we could tell from the outside display, Lowell granite does very nice work. The displays were lovely and detailed. But my opinion is that if you are going to be in the business of primarily making headstones and memorials, be kind and compassionate toward families who are hurting. If the lady had kindly explained their policies and shown some compassion, we would have done our best to comply with all her requests. However, that was not the case here. We were instantly met with rudeness, shortness, and demands. We had little chance to try to speak with her so we left feeling very shaken up over the way we were spoken to. Also note, their policy for party number, masks on toddlers, and immediate family social distancing is not currently listed anywhere on their web page, doors, and was not mentioned over the phone when I called. This is truly not about the "mask/no mask issue". This is about principle and how to treat others with kindness and respect, neither of which we saw a glimmer of in our short dealing with Lowell Granite. We went to Patten's Michigan Monuments (in Hastings) instead and we have had a wonderful experience so far. Patten's was professional, worked with us for a custom design, and warmly welcomed my entire family into their store as we worked together to design a headstone. They were extremely patient with us all voicing our ideas and worked to fit it all together in a creative way (and a bonus - they even provided snacks to the toddlers as we discussed plans). I would highly recommend Patten's. It is well worth your drive to support a business who cares and has integrity.
Austin Miller: The front desk employees were extremely rude and unfriendly, so much so that my entire family left and we are taking our business elsewhere
Donny: I have been a customer for 17 years. Ive had a fewGrave stones made by them. Great customer service. They have something for every budget. You will not be disappointed.
Connor Zandee: Great customer service! Beautiful design work couldn’t be happier!
