Anthony Wyatt: The one thing they had going for them was the food was fast and the staff was nice. The food on the other hand not that good... The pulled pork was kind of bland. The sausage was greasy. The ribs were also dry and bland. The cornbread tastes like a quick box mix. It was not the worst BBQ I have had but... It sure was close :(. My wife and kids were also not very excited. One kid actually asked if we could avoid going there on the future.

Frank: The Pit Stop catered our son's high school graduation open house and it was a big hit for all of our guests. We ordered brisket, pulled pork, baked beans, cheesy tots, and cole slaw. Hayden arrived on time and took great care setting up the food and explaining a few details to us. When our older children graduated, we prepared the food ourselves, but it was so much more relaxing to have it all taken care of for us (including silverware, napkins, plates). It let me focus on my son and our guests instead of having to deal with food preparation. Thanks for the great food and service!

Basically, everything was bland and lacked the smoky flavor. I ordered some brisket, pork and chicken. If not for the sauces the meats were tasteless. Also, the chicken was dry. I used to smoke meats until my smoker conked out. I like my smoked meats better.

Food is amazing. It sells out fast. The staff and owner have no interest in answering the phone, taking reservations, etc. Go early. Eat amazing food. Take it somewhere else or hope to score that picnic table. This is how you know the food is good.

RENE L.: Reasons to not eat here. Firstly the place isn't hygienic. The same guy handles cash and then food without gloves or any hand washing. His mask was dangling of his ear the whole time I was there. Second not overly professional no menu not even a hand written one he just lists what he has. Thirdly the food wasn't all that. The rib tips were 90% bone 10% meat and the sauce kind of tasted like open pit. The mac and cheese wasn't that good. The greens were not bad but the meat in them was dried out which is odd since it sits in the liquid. Overall for the 10$ I paid I really expected better than what I got. Will definitely not be back.

Tiffany Tate: That was expensive and disappointing. I ordered wings, burnt ends, macaroni and cheese and a cornbread. The cornbread was tiny but fine. The macaroni and cheese was fine. (NOTE: I ordered through Doordash and it took a while to reach me. It might have been better when hot.) The wings were fine and had a decent amount. However, the reason for the 2 stars was the Burnt Ends. They should have been from the brisket point and been a little crispy on the outside but fatty and moist on the inside. They were so burnt almost broke a tooth. The sauce they were tossed in was intended to be camouflage how overcooked they were. It didn't work. There was no fat at all, which explains why it completely dried out. Burnt Ends are not easy and a lot of places don't offer them. When they are offered, they command a higher price point as well. So the Burnt Ends were the most expensive thing I ordered and inedible. This is the first and last time I go here.

What I love most about Slows are their gluten-free options, clearly marked on their menus and now the GR location serves local GF beer! The brisket in Detroit was much more tender and juicy than that of GR, but both did well with their waffle fries 😉. miguel ponce: I had the pleasure of trying the brisket. Many people have opinions on how brisket should be done, and my opinion is that this brisket was done exceptionally well. I do not like an overly soggy/greasy brisket, nor do I like a dry brisket, and this was the happy medium...near perfect. The rub is fantastic; it's a good, heavy, chunky, gritty coat. The meat was trimmed nicely, just enough fat. And the cook left the meat able to fall apart but hold together, a good bite thats easy to chew. I WILL be trying the other things on the menu.

I wanted the brisket, but it is extremely popular and they were sold out! Make sure to get here early so you can get yours! If they are out of brisket I would reccomend the pulled chicken or pulled pork sandwiches. The Mac n cheese and mushrooms sides are nasty don't try them unless you like the taste of MREs

JOE SCHULTZ: This place has some great BBQ. The owners are friendly and engaging. It was a pleasure getting dinner here.Those with mobility issues should plan on getting take-out. The dining area is not very big, and the table and counters are too high for anyone in a wheelchair or walker.That said, if you are visiting the Grand Rapids area, escape the same old thing and experience this great local place.

Kozy Coze: I had a chance to eat brisket from Daddy Pete's, City Barbeque, and 2 Scotts all in one week. Daddy Pete's was the best, hands down without a doubt. I wasn't trying to compare when I bought them and just had an urge for some brisket but the difference was extreme. Mama Pete's buffalo barbecue sauce is something to write home to your mama about. You also set the standard on how baked beans are simply delicious without having to add a thing from your cupboards at home! Great work!

I've lived in the area long enough to say this is one of the best barbecue shops in Grand Rapids possibly all of West Michigan.Not only are the meats cooked properly all the way to the seasoning but I recently found out that their meats are sourced fresh every week.Good service, good food make a great restaurant.
