Gary Eichen: Absolutely awesome. Historic village, owls, turtles and an opossum, (oh my - lol) I'm betting fall there is incredible.
Elizabeth Pierce: Lots of hiking areas, some paths are paved, most are woodchip. Many hills, flora and wild creatures. There are some rescue animals on premise, a nice visitor center with bathrooms, a marsh outlook. Check for events, there are many programs offered and cool out-buildings that are used for education.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No …More
Doug Miller: Great place to visit..back to nature. Nice hiking trails
Casey D: Don't bring your dog here if it's a bully breed of any sort. The workers will 100% stereotype them and follow you.

Gabrielle Hensch: I’d definitely check out their website for events— they have a lot of fun events all year round. I’ve been a few times to craft shows, art workshops and of course, got to meet some very cute critters! They have HUGE nature trails. Not a huge parking lot so on busy days, parking can be tough.
Sandi White: A nice place to go. There are rescued animals that you can see very closely and lots of nature trails to roam. Most of the trails off the main one were flooded or muddy because we had rain a few days in a row.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait Reservation recommended No Price for adult entry $1–5 …More
Damir “Grof” Kesar: Went with my daughters 3rd grade class as a chaperone and I have to say it had been a decade or longer since I went there last time and the place is much improved and very educational for kids and adults. Their guides ended up getting sick the night before and I thought that would make the tour less fun (as the parents had to act as guides) but no it was still easy to navigate and full of both nature and history that remains relevant.

Lamberton Lake Fen Nature Preserve: what do users think?
Kathren Ayers (Kat): It's a beautiful little spot. Only .67 walk in and back. Entrance is on apartment complex back.Visited on Weekday Wait time No wait …More
Bob Hartig: Bear in mind that this is a nature preserve, not a park. If you're expecting a great picnic place, you'll be disappointed. But if you're a native plant lover and wetlands buff, you'll be delighted that a rare ecosystem like this exists so close to urbanization. It has some surprises. I remember it from way back, before the apartments went in, when the fen wrapped around the entire south and southwest shore of the lake. Pitcher plants used to grow near the creek.
michael howell: It's about a 20 min walk to the end and back.
Kevin Pinkerton: I just moved to Lamberton Lakes in an awesome trail walk right in my backyard
Liz Klinger: Nice short walking trail, but no parking lot or other amenities were accessible from plaza drive, and lots of road noise from the nearby express way
Brandy B: Lots of trails to choose from
It's just Aja: Saw 3 deer today. Its nice short walk
teresa arlen: Loved it
Mandi Michielsen: Even this early in the year (March) there was a lot of bird activity. I could tell by all the cut brush that a lot of effort is being put into restoring this preserve. What a unique ecosystem to have in our neighborhood!
Daniel Andrella: Small. Nothing really here. No tables to picnic on. Good for birding. That's about it.
Michelle S: Pretty but a short trail, ends at private property so you have to turn around when you get to the end
Carol k Foerch: Sweet short walking trail, nicely groomed.

So many grasshoppers and crickets in the tall grasses. Great trails and I love that it's right next to Blandford's wooded trails! Jason Meyer: No matter what time of year, The Highlands has something new to show us and teach us. From the accessible trails to the habitat restoration to the daylighting of a storm drain...just WOW. What a transformation that benefits humans, wildlife, water quality, and so much more!
Kathren Ayers (Kat): Beautiful place to hike.
Special K: I love the Highlands especially when the seasons change & blossoms are blooming all around. Snakes are sunbathing along with turtles. The geese have had their babies and lots of fawns being born at this time of year. I’ve seen many fox, skunks, owls, pileated woodpeckers, bats, deer, coyotes, etc. It’s great for hiking, running, walking, bird watching, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, etc. The downfall to all of this, are the dog owners who allow their dogs to chase wildlife and never clean up after their dogs.
Francisco Rodriguez: Had a great time enjoying the peace and beauty of nature. I was on a business trip and stayed downtown/city so this was a must. Saw some animals and catch some deep breaths. I’m not a local but as it seems it was a golf course transformed into a nature center. To all who contributed thank you So much for it. So many paths to take and a portable restroom if needed.
