Jennifer Dibble: Love this party store! Been going to this local party store for 10 year's now! Inside of McKay Tower's❤
dan mills: Great place, always a friendly welcome and most of the time you get a cute dog to pet.
Christopher Regalado: Awesome
Pete Anderson: Recently relocated and reopened in the McKay Tower. It is in the lobby and there is no external entrance so it may be hard to find if you don't know it is there. Nothing fancy, just the basics, but there aren't many places to get those things downtown so it is nice to have it back.
Ty'GR Nguyen: Great Downtown Area Convenient Store!

The Sparrows Coffee & Tea & Newsstand: what do users think?
Erin Routledge: I've been visiting Scorpion Hearts club for the last year, and here is why I stopped going there altogether. Many from Grand Rapids love this little coffee shop, formerly known as Sparrows. However, I have experienced some things and have learned a lot that puts a bad taste in my mouth. We as a community are obligated to support and protect each other and that includes making sure everyone is entitled to a living wage.In the past year, many baristas that I have come to know and talk to have left. I overheard an interview in which I learned that the starting wage for Scorpion Hearts club is $9. Ask yourself if you could live off of that. Now, you may say, but tips! "So many people tip and this brings their wages up significantly." While tipping can help, it is not promised and I do not believe that any worker should have to rely on tips to make a living wage. No one should have to rely on a stranger to tip them $3 so they can pay their bills.I have also witnessed several times where there was only one poor barista during a rush and had 10+ coffees to make themselves.I also want to point out that with the returned ownership, all the drinks went up in price, however, the workers still make $9/hr. I urge this company to take a hard look at themselves and question if they cannot pay their workers fairly, do they deserve to own a business? Multiple other small businesses AND large franchises pay a higher base rate.Besides this, there are many other instances that made me uncomfortable and turned me off of this establishment. If you are counting on the wifi to do work, you might as well never come here. On average, the wifi has to be reset multiple times in a 3-4 hour basis and I often felt like I was being a nuisance by asking them to check it. Much easier to just go somewhere where I know the wifi is reliable. I would recommend they upgrade or get rid of it all together. Please remember that small business ≠ ethical practices and I urge you to be an informed consumer. Try a different shop that treats their employees and guests fairly. The coffee is okay, but there's great coffee other places too.

Antonio Altamirano: A coffee shop with a soul. Go for the pour over dark roast and stay for the socially conscious art, books and greeting cards. One of my favorite coffee spots in Grand Rapids!
My Grand Rapids Life My Grand Rapids Life: This coffee shop is definitely one of my favorites in the area, and there are many reasons why.First and foremost, the atmosphere at Scorpion Hearts Club is absolutely fantastic. It's a cozy and welcoming space that feels like a home away from home. Whether you're looking for a quiet spot to work or a place to catch up with friends, this coffee shop is perfect. And of course, the coffee itself is top-notch. The baristas at Scorpion Hearts Club really know their stuff and take pride in creating the perfect cup of coffee every time. You're sure to be impressed by the quality and attention to detail that goes into each and every drink.Overall, I would highly recommend Scorpion Hearts Club to anyone looking for a great coffee shop in Grand Rapids. With its welcoming atmosphere, top-notch coffee and food, and friendly staff, it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great cup of coffee.

She was such a pleasure to get to talk to 😊The ambiance was really cool and there is a good amount of seating—just be warned that on a weekend afternoon, they can fill up fast!

McKenzie Smith: Kid-friendliness: Small area inside with not much room for kids. Outside area would be perfect for kids if the weather is nice!Parking: Small parking lot (2-3 spaces) designated for customers.
Lydia Goorman: Cute place inside Kingma’s. Coffee was alright but very good vibes. The Matcha wasn’t my favorite but the Dirtier Harry’s was pretty good!
Andrew Borrow: Great spot for coffee, and the food is great. This coffee shop is inside of a market with great selection as well.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Ethan Gawronski: This is the best cafe in town y'all!!! This place has it all: great quality coffee, yummy espresso drinks, pastries for days, and by FAR my favorite rotating seasonal menus of any cafe out there.I cannot help but gush about how cute this location is. It isn't the biggest, but there's plenty of seating inside and outside when it gets warm out. It is so clean and well maintained, you just know that everyone behind bar cares about their work. And yes it shows!!! Some of the nicest staff I've ever had the pleasure of being around, I've never had a bad experience here.PLEASE check this lil place out, it is well worth your time.
Craig Eby Jr: We love having this Cafe in the neighborhood. The design and menu are all very well done and perfectly thought out. Their seasonal drinks always hit right. We usually stop by to get a coffee while on walks around the neighborhood. I highly recommend giving Sparrow Coffee a try!Vegetarian options: Dairy free milks available, as well as vegan food options from Rise BakeryParking: Sparrow is located in the back corner of Kingma's market, so they have a large parking lot for the store. But there are also two customer parking spots, as well as street parking near the entrance to SparrowWheelchair accessibility: Easily accessible with a wheelchair. No steps up or ramp into entrance of cafeDietary restrictions: Dairy free options as well as pastries from Rise Bakery available

Awesomely Aimless Adventures: Variety. The spice of life. This coffee spot does an exceptional job of offering various tea/ coffee concoctions that are sure to please. Stop by and see for yourself. A friendly well mannered groups of humans. Major major is good and the lavender tea iced is yum er.It’s cute and chirpy. Just like a sparrow 💕Kingma’s is the attached grocery that is priced for the Kings in the area. I know .. bad joke. Yet, it’s true.
Roger Taylor: Very nice addition to the neighborhood, seating in cold weather is somewhat limited. That wouldn't be a problem if the coffee wasn't so good.
Shane Tovey: This was a great place for a Sunday morning or any day latte! And much much more, Made to perfection! Truly enjoyed this cup of Joe 💯.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Emily Jacobus (Pawthorn): Sparrows is just the best.Really good seasonal drinks, quick and friendly service, relaxing interior as well as nice outdoor seating. I love the events and pop-ups they host. I’ve never had a bad experience there, and today they went above and beyond.I ordered a steamer for my kiddo and a matcha for myself. With a suggested add-in of lavender syrup, the matcha was delicious as always (and free, as they applied my punchcard to the more expensive of the two drinks.) My kiddo’s steamer was the perfect size and temperature, and they added latte art of a little bear on top, which my little one loved.Despite many coffee options in GR, Sparrows is always top of my list.Kid-friendliness: Perfect kid-temp drink, really special latte art on top.
Brenda VanWeezel: Lovely local place. They make all their own syrups from scratch. Never bad coffee. Always pleasant and friendly.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Sarah Brzyski: My daily coffee spot! I love the atmosphere and coffee at this shop so much.
Lance Hansen: Got a triple espresso from this shop today. Glad I'm not allergic to cinnamon. Seeing that my order of triple espresso with Suger and milk also came with a dash of cinnamon in it. Hope you don't kill anybody as you have killed me taste buds today.
Teagan Addleston: Absolutely beautiful atmosphere! I've visited the location on Wealthy Street a few times and loved it, but I had never visited this one. Boy am I glad I did! The walls of windows make it feel open and airy and makes it a great place to study or read or write. I tried The Streisand off the winter menu and it was absolutely delicious! The scone I got was light and fluffy and didn't dry out myouth either like some scones do. And the baristas were so friendly and funny and took great care in getting my order right. 10/10 experience and I'll definitely be back again the next time I visit Grand Rapids.
Drew Simon: Delicious Vegan Chai Latte. I love how much this coffee shop supports the LGBTQ+ community with their donations and charitable items.
Emily: The cappucino was so strong last time that I got a latte today instead. It was pretty good, but if I had known that the pastries were gluten-free and vegan I definitely wouldn't have bought that muffin.
