Catherine Vogt: Lately with Spectrum Health, the care has been hit or miss. I had my preventative exam done at this location for the first time and I didn't receive quality care. I was told to undress and the provider would be in shortly. I never believe that, but when a half hour passed and no one came in, I was irritated. I poked my head out the door and saw no one at their desks. Ten minutes later, the nurse practitioner came in and never apologized for the long wait. She spoke a mile a minute so it was hard to understand her, and the exam was over so quickly, I wondered if she looked at anything. I've gotten a more thorough pelvic exam from my urologist. I won't go back to this location for my physicals.

Renee Aley: I really wish someone would actually be professional enough to do something about the rude staff. I currently go here but I’m too far into my pregnancy to switch to a different OB. I’ve tried giving staff the benefit of the doubt.. bad day maybe? But it’s every single time I have an appointment that I’m walking out disappointed and it’s ruined my pregnancy experience to be completely honest. Anytime I have a medical concern for my OB I’m ignored and not taken seriously. Last time I had talked to a nurse about a question I had about a test coming up, she got frustrated and I could hear her talking about me outside the room to my OB. If you are searching for an OB office, don’t consider this place.

Olivia Huhn: The women’s health office is extremely clean & comforting, and I found everyone that worked in the office to be very nice. Dr. Payne is great, she’s very quick with everything yet thorough and cares about what YOU want to do most importantly.

Heidi Donohue: I am 37 weeks pregnant and have only seen a medical doctor 3 times. They always call to change my appointments and I'm forced to meet with a nurse practitioner or a midwife. I chose this place to have a doctor but have only met my actual OB doc once and two other doctors. I've never heard of anyone being 37 weeks pregnant and only seeing a doctor such few times as I have had. I will be seeking care elsewhere for future pregnancies and I suggest you do the same if you want to actually see a doctor at your appointments.

Critical Thinking: Today was my first appointment at Spectrum health medical group. I was overall very impressed. Beautiful clinic, welcoming desk staff, and a very nice nurse Joanne (or Joanna). My gynecologist Meghan was the icing on the cake. I liked her and felt comfortable the first second she walked in. She listened, gave great advice, and didn't just "rush through the program". I am very pleased, thank you all!

Chelsea Dee: Bad experience with Amy Byler. I requested pain relief before an IUD removal was basically told to take a large dose of ibuprofen and that we should "try it first" before using any more effective methods of pain relief. After pushing back and pointing out that there wouldn't be negative consequences if they gave me pain relief and I didn't end up needing it, she reluctantly agreed to lidocaine gel.Thanks, but if I wanted over-the-counter solution I wouldn't have set up an expensive consultation appointment with a doctor before the removal.

Erika Richiert: After transferring from a different office halfway through my pregnancy due to a bad experience, this office has been amazing. I have seen multiple providers and every single one (pa’s included) listen and treat me with the utmost respect. I cannot say enough good things about this office!

MomLuvs SusPequeños: I love spectrum health as a whole but this OB/GYN office in general is HORRIBLE wish I could give this office 0 stars there is ALWAYS 30+ minute wait even if you're on time or 15minutes early to your appointment even if it is for a simple vaccine which is not an actual appt I have to have paperwork filled out for my insurance at every appt and the receptionist filled it out with a green pen like are you serious and she kept filling out a little bit then going back on her phone so unprofessional if you want to go to this OB/GYN go to their Grandvalle office they're way more organized and professional

ashley adevai: I don’t even know where to start. So I’ll keep it short and sweet. Dr.Dood is god sent. His bedside manner is impeccable and honestly impressive. He goes above and beyond for his patients, it’s very genuine. I’ve never had a doctor be so kind and so patient & truly care about my health before. It feels great and is making this pregnancy bearable . Having HG has seriously kicked my butt and he’s tried everything to make it manageable for me. Can’t say enough good. The staff is also kind and helpful!

Taylor Scheidel: I was a patient here quite some time ago. I now suffer from medical truama from what has happened to me around 5-6 years ago. I was a teenager showing symptoms of endometriosis. I talked about my symptoms came into the office crying at times. My nurse practitioner Amy Byler was very cold. She didn't listen to me and I wasn't given informed consent and went through a painful exam that caused me to bleed for days. She instructed me to take so much ibuprofen for my pain that I now suffer permanent damage to my stomach.Even though I told her it didn't help. I then made an appointment with someone different ( Dr. Kruze) He tried to force me into an exam verbally when I told him no multiple times. And made fun of me when I told him I was abused. Please don't go here ladies. Find elsewhere if you can. I wish I could go back in time and stand up for myself. I can't have a healthy relationship with my current doctor due to this. I Know this review is late,but I think about this every time I go to the doctor and it deeply hurt me for what happened here.

Nika Fesler: I have had incredibly validating and positive experiences with Dr. VanDeBurg. She was a calming and confident presence and we brought my daughter into the world together. She was so excited to birth her that she came to the hospital at 6am, and when my labor wasn’t progressing she collaborated with me and helped me reach a decision I felt was my own. Going through a c-section after around 40 hours of labor is very hard on the body and mind and having the doctor who I had been with my entire pregnancy in the room with me was something I will be forever grateful for. Dr. VanDeBurg will always have a special place in my heart because she was there for the best moment of my life and delivered my daughter safely into my arms.

The work these physicians and supporting staff do takes immeasurable commitment and sacrifice. BUT, if you are keen on honesty, commitment, intelligence, faith, and *exceptional* hugs, Dr. VanDeBurg will not let you down.Thankful for GRWH in many, many ways!

Rachel Holtrop: I feel so lucky to have found out about Dr. VanDeBurg 15 years ago and to have had the experience of her safely delivering my 3 children. She truly makes you feel like a friend and not just another patient, and she is always so thorough during appointments. I have so much confidence in her knowledge and skill set and she has the best bedside manner of any doctor I’ve experienced. Her support staff is wonderful as well.

Dani Jastifer: I've been going to Trinity Health for my whole life and their ob-gyn office since I was 19. Never had a problem with the healthcare I've received. However recently due to a policy change I need to find a new ob-gyn as they no longer give birth control for contraception, only for pelvic pain or bleeding. What kind of ob-gyn does not offer birth control for actual birth control?! Oh that's right, a Catholic one. They should be ashamed to even call themselves a doctor's office.

Cassie T: Switched here from Spectrum and I felt like the nurses, doctors, and staff were less rushed and more personable. My l&d went great and my care was excellent. They really respected and honored my choices for how I delivered as well as my baby's vaccine & testing schedule.

Lindsay Flegge: I wish I would have read the reviews from Yelp, Google, and my local moms Facebook groups before choosing my pre/post natal care from this practice. I should have stayed away, but picked this location due to its proximity to my workplace. I will say that this practice will keep you and your baby alive but that's pretty much the bare minimum. My prenatal appointments were usually 5 minutes long with just weight, BP, and baby's heartbeat before being sent on my way. Not once did anyone ask about my nutrition, exercise, stress, partner support, fears for labor/delivery, or any other aspects of my life to make me feel they were caring for the "whole person." Providers would write in my chart that we discussed things that we never discussed, providers were dismissive of my questions related to holistic approaches, providers would contradict each other from visit to visit, or one would tell you to follow-up with them about something but another provider would respond to the MyChart message and have no idea what was going on with you. None of the providers seemed to remember anything about me from visit to visit, even if I saw them multiple times throughout pregnancy. I even had to ask on multiple occasions if someone was actually ever reading my chart or had reviewed my previous medical records. I definitely felt like "just a number" here. Even after delivery at my follow-up appointments, no one asked how I was feeling about my delivery or how my baby was doing or any of a number of pretty usual questions to show you care about someone. I kept thinking it would get better so I let it go early on and then I felt it was too late to switch providers so I just stayed. I would definitely recommend doing your research before picking your medical team and I hope this practice will actually read some of their reviews and think about how they improve their patient care experience.

I been in pain for 3 months, told me to take Tylenol... they don't answer the phone I can't get a proper appointment. They are the worst. THEY DONT GIVE A FLYING F ABOUT YOU. Jayna Hickox: If I could leave a negative star rating I would. They don’t even deserve one star. But I have to to leave this review. I highly recommend looking elsewhere. ANYWHERE else but here if you want to be treated like a human being. I have been having pregnancy complications since I first made a visit to the ER January 19th. All I got was bloodwork done and the office said “you’re fine”. Well now I am cramping terribly, bleeding, etc etc for the last 4 days. I had a stat ultrasound ordered on Tuesday 2/2 that I immediately went to. No instructions on whether to stay and get results or to leave and they would call. The ultrasound tech at the hospital was also confused on why they didn’t give me those instructions. Anyways I got sent home. Didn’t hear anything by the end of the day so I called in the morning. They didn’t even know I went to my ultrasound and asked if I had scheduled it yet. Then the nurse said oh yea I see the results are in I’ll let the provider know. Hours go by. Still nothing. Messaged the office. They read the message, no response. I call again before the end of the day and tell the nurse Rebecca I think her name was...had to go get a provider and have them look over it. Rebecca then tells me the results were inconclusive. I say “ok what does that mean then what do I do now?” She said “well I just told you it’s inconclusive we don’t see anything we can’t tell.” I’m crying telling her something is really wrong she said “I guess we can set up an appointment to see you but if it’s a miscarriage we can’t do anything to stop that you do know that right?” I am already emotionally distraught. Stressed and in pain. I tell her “ yes I do know that but nobody has told me what to do, I haven’t gotten any answers what do I do now?” She said “we can’t just give you an answer.” Then tells me I can go get my hcg levels checked again if I wanted and that I better hurry because it’s already getting close to the end of the day. They were supposed to give me a note for work to excuse me for the ultrasound because they won’t fill out the short term disability papers my boss gave me even tho my diagnoses is literally “threatened miscarriage”. I guess that’s not an important thing. I had to ask for the note 4 times and when I asked again and asked if they could help me out the next couple days until we know or figure out something because of the pain and bleeding etc etc. Rebecca then says “umm you don’t have sick days?” That’s not the point. I could keep going on about how rude this nurse was and how hard it is to figure out what is actually going on with you and your baby. I have nothing good to say. This has been a terrible experience...already on top of this pregnancy not being right. Please for your mental and physical health do not go here. I am switching immediately.

Celia Horst: Be warned that this office is absolutely the most unprofessional group of healthcare physicians in the Grand Rapids area. You and your baby deserve to have the best care possible and your voice will not be heard by the Doctors and nurses at this practice. I immediately switched to a private practice OB when I was asked some very medically irrelevant and distasteful questions about the intended future of my unborn child at this office. Be aware that there is more substantial care available to you and that you do have a choice in who you allow to care for you. Don’t settle for the mediocrity of this practice!

Cristal Hartsell: I have nothing bad to say about the practice itself and the doctors are fantastic but you must walk passed an ad for Coolsculpting from the plastic surgeon NEXT DOOR to get to the ob gyn. The moment you step off the elevator you are instantly faced with a before and after of a woman's stomach. I'm not saying that this is predatory, but as a pregnant woman who struggled with depression during and after pregnancy, I do believe that this forced influence contributed to my depression. No woman should be made to feel ashamed of their bodies during this vulnerable time. For this reason, I have chose to find another ob gyn. Not because the practice itself isn't great, but for my mental health. I do not wish to walk passed the plastic surgery place again in the future and I hope that they will consider other placement for their coolsculpting ads because it is in embarassingly bad taste to have that right next door to a place where women go for pregnancy and postpartum care in my opinion.

T.J. V: I have had appointments with several OBGYNs from this office, and all have been exceptional. They all genuinely cared for my well-being, and when I had my first daughter Dr. Looby was absolutely fantastic in the delivery room! I did see one other OB during my pregnancy and she was great as well with explaining some things found on the ultrasound (Dr. Mathis) and made sure that I understood everything about what was found. I would recommend the doctors here to anyone looking for an OBGYN!

Elizabeth Fisher: Had a very important appointment with this clinic. Waited a month to get in. My GPS pulled up two of the same address. Thinking it would take me to the right place I followed it. Took me to a place with houses and a few different businesses. I called my doctor's office they transferred me over to the right office. I in the mean time started driving to the location. While on the phone explained my situation got there at 915. My appointment was at 9. She was attempting to reschedule my next appointment a month out when I already have been waiting a month for my very important appointment. I will not be going there. She knew that I was already going to be late and my situation I was in, also, the importants of my appointment. I can not risk not having another appointment threw them waiting out another month because of no lenience.

Angelique Nowak: I have great care here. Everyone from the office, MA, nurses, and doctors have been very kind, understanding, and helpful. There have been some hiccups in the schedule but I've been to 3 different clinics due to moving. I say it is pretty normal for an obgyn office. They rotate with the East Beltline clinic now for hospital rotations. Do not let Dr. Geron Turke (East Beltline) work with you. Run away. Other than that great place.

Curtis Bolt: Nice location and with easy parking. I can't say much for the office people though. Looking at the reviews they could do better. The woman I seen going in there didn't look unhappy.

Melissa Grauman: Waited months for a response to test results I was required to have before being seen (which I was never seen or given instruction after results were given). We ended up with a $500 bill for these results as well mind you. I went months without a period and no answers and my physician not caring. When I finally was able to get word back they refused to admit they dropped the ball and insisted instructions had been sent through their portal.....they weren't.It is also nearly impossible to schedule a yearly exam, the only time they could give me was 2 months away, and only at noon, which requires me to lose an entire day of work as I do not live close. I am not impressed with their service to their patients or their communication methods. I do not reccomend this office or Dr Leahy.To top it all off after having to wait 2 months for an appointment, they cancelled it without my asking for it to be cancelled. They are highly disorganized. This is not the first time they have screwed up scheduling for me.

Tom Stoepker: This was by far the absolute worst experience either my wife or I had with any medical professionals. Even considering them in the league of professionals is a stretch.If a negative rating was possible, a -5 of of 5 stars would be a generous rating.Everything from not allowing us to schedule appointments when my wife was experiencing pain (they apparently do not deal with situations like this.... ) to never seeing the same doctor twice (which led to mistakes around repeated questions in terms of medical history and state of the pregnancy).When my wife asked about how to deal with back pain, we literally had a doctor (Dr. Mathis) say "Stand like Miss America" and then subsequently dismiss us to to schedule a follow up with another MD.Do not trust your health, or future babies health with these people.

Jasmine Palmer: 5 pregnancies with this clinic and couldn't ask for a better experience each time. Staff and Docs are very respectful and professional. Even though I have moved two hours away (3 children while living in Grand Rapids, 2 children while 2 hours away) I still managed to be able to stay with them and they have always worked with me. The list goes on and I will forever be grateful to them! They are always super busy, but anyone who can get in I would say do it! They offer many different options and even offer pregnancy centering!

Alex Amaro: I came here because it was my first pregnancy and didn’t know where else to go that accepted my insurance, and my experience was awful. I had mentioned once to a doctor that I was worried about a health complication and she brushed it off, later on my pregnancy I had to deliver early because I did have that complication (preeclampsia). At 33 weeks or so I wanted a urine test to make sure everything was okay they denied my request. After delivery I felt like everytime I called regarding a concern (because of my complications after birth) I was being too bothersome. They had very bad communication. I will not be returning here.

Rose Clearwaters: Horrible experience there. Didn't even tell me the woman that was following up on my pregnancy was a student the whole time. They didn't respect my opinion on what I felt was right for my body either. Very forceful, rude, and lack of communication on their part. I mean to not tell me she was a student!!!!!

Katie Anderson: Everyone has been friendly. They have really been working to help me with my issues. I have not had to wait long to be seen.

Mallory Campos: Longest waits ever. I’ve been here 5 times and each time I sit in a room for 45 minutes to an hour before I see a doctor. Absolutely ridiculous. Doctors are nice, but the other staff are not professional. Will definitely be switching to another office where a patients time is more respected.

kaylee44703: I would rate this a 0 if it was possible. Impersonal doctors and residence that are interchangeable. No follow up care. Didn't correctly bill my insurnace . This place has been a complete and total nightmare.

Mandi Belmont: I'd rate 0 if it was possible. I first transferred to this office back in 2017 when I moved back to Michigan and my experience for my pregnancy went down hill! I am prone to early labor and was already having to have it stopped a couple times. My doctor there at the time out right REFUSED to set up a labor plan with me so that I felt comfortable. He told me out right "You aren't going to go early so I'm not going to be concerned with that." I had my son 6 weeks early via c-section because my water broke and he was breech. They also never followed up with me for my 6 week appointment. Fast forward to my current pregnancy. I decided 2 years later I would give the office another try but refused to see the old doctor. At first it was okay, but as soon as I have developed symptoms of tachycardia and other issues I was told in nicer terms to suck it up. For MONTHS I have been trying to tell them something wasnt right with my health as I have never felt how I have being pregnant before. Office yet again told me I'm basically overreacting. If I hadn't got to OB triage and been diagnosed with Gestational Hypertension I would never have known my blood pressure was high and causing me to pass out. The office still insists I'm exaggerating and won't take me serious in my care. This is my 4th pregnancy and if I didn't have insurance that only Spectrum accepts, I would never see them again. They are disrespectful and refuse to listen to any real concerns you have. Find a different office if you can!

Kellie St. Bernard: I would have loved to come to this office but I have never in my life been told by an obgyn office that I couldn't be seen without a referral. All I wanted was an annual exam and my insurance company does not require a referral. I've never been to a doctor where the office requires a referral. So confused by the entire conversation I had with the scheduler.Guess I'll just take my business elsewhere .

Krista Smith: I’ve been seeing this office since about a month into my pregnancy, I’m now over 5 months. They have been so wonderful! My midwife has been outstanding and makes me feel comfortable every appointment I have, answering all of my silly questions. The front desk staff is always kind and willing to help me with any questions I may have as well. I’ve had a few tests done and each practitioner or nurse was very thorough with me, describing the procedure clearly answering questions. The office is very clean, a little dated but does not feel dirty or unsanitary in any way (and I’m pretty picky when it comes to this). Very impressed with my visits here and am very grateful for finding such amazing prenatal care!

Red Cheyla: Miscarried and came here for my followup 2 weeks later for them to tell me "it might all be out but were not sure. A Hcg test won't matter and you probably still have tissue left so I don't want to order an ultrasound."

T C: When I read all of these bad reviews, I was sceptical in to coming to this office but when I got there, they treated me very nice. My wait wasn't long at all, the nurse and doctors were very professional and informative. Not discriminating or treated me any differently because of my race. I'm happy with my choice to switch to this residency.

SOPHISTICATED LADIES: They discriminated strongly against me for having note's planning an abortion from 68th street ob office Dorsey Ligon where I experienced negligence, discrimination, pain in suffering in disrespect. I've been a patient for a few year's there prior to switching totally over to Dorsey Login this office lied in said my ob Barbra Bradley didn't work there any more in I couldn't be seen do to wanting an abortion. They lied to my primary doctor in said I had a bad history with them in NEVER had a issue there while being a patient of Bradley. They told me I hope you know we are spectrum health in we all have the same system I'm like why are you telling me that? Then Barbra Bradley message was she didn't need that there to my primary doctor. Told me they call me back all kinds of stuff in this all came from this office in I only called to establish care in this is what I get told while having 3 blood clots in my uterus in two cyst on my right ovary in pregnant

Kristine Baisch/Kelly: So I've tried calling a couple times to personally state my concern but noone called me back. Well I wouldn't suggest going here if you want adequate care. The lady that took my BP, most definitely didn't actually take it. First question she asked was do you know where about your BP normally is? So I gave a BS answer and was quite amused with the result. Then, reviewing my paperwork she had documented the wrong weight... I was standing right there. I'm almost terrified to give birth. What if something does go wrong? Or who even knows if something is wrong with how poorly my vitals were checked.

Alayna Kurtz: IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER POSSIBLE CHOICE GO TOTHE OTHER CHOICE!!!!!! I am now two months overdue for an appointment. I faxed my med record release two weeks ago. It sat in their faxmachine until I called them to get something done and they took two days to review it. I STILL don't have an appointment and I literally have 5 days til the baby comes. They don't act like they give one iota of a care. terrible service and I haven't even been seen.

Shontae: treated me badly. told me the doctor will be a hour late and i can stay there or leave. showed no concern for me or my health. ive never been talked to or treated so badly at a doctors office. stay away from this place...if your not white! They will think your on drugs if you tell them your in pain and your skin colour doesnt match sheet paper......

Dr. West is VERY KIND, CARING, KNOWLEDGEABLE, and has a TRUE GENUINE HEART to get to the bottom of things. She's honest and DOES NOT WASTE TIME getting to the bottom of things.

Ashley Cordonnier: I was only 9 weeks pregnant when I moved to Grand Rapids from Florida. I did some online research and chose Dr. Talcott even before I moved here. I was afraid because I didn’t know the area or the healthcare system but he exceeded my expectations. From the first phone call to every visit throughout my pregnancy everyone in the office was super nice and attentive. Dr. Talcott is thorough, attentive, thoughtful and has a great personality. I felt very safe under his care. My labor and delivery went beautifully. He checked on me frequently in the hospital and made sure to be there to deliver my baby. His office staff is friendly and every time I called I reached someone quickly and they were able to get answers to my questions from Dr Talcott immediately. I would 100% recommend him and will be staying with him as a gynecology patient.

Ashley Cook: He failed to tell me about the horrific effects that the permanent form of birth control Essure could have on me. And when I begged him for his help to get it out of me due to all the side effects I was having he told me he could pick 100 women off the street and they would say the same things to him, than sent me a bill for having a conversation with him about it. I explained how my stomach was swollen since the device had been placed and was getting bigger and he told me to start doing more sit-ups. Needless to say after 3 major surgeries the last being a total hysterectomy at the age of 30 the new doctor I was seeing did say it was the device causing me so much pain, weight gain, heavy bleeding, hair loss, tooth loss, memory issues and so much more. Let's just say I weighed 202lbs at the time of my surgery to remove the device and after 4 months of having it out of me I was back at my weight of 130lbs without changing a single thing in my lifestyle. Thanks for not helping me Dr. Talcott

Alissa dykstra: Awful experience. My visit 7 years ago was terrible I do NOT reccomened going here! The billing dept contacted me 7 years later about an outstanding bill I had never seen. I was also on my parents insurance. They said they contacted me several times..they did not. they called me not did I ever receive anything in mail(never contacted me in all those years) the lady I spoke with was extremely rude and just threatened collections after I asked for an EOB. I work in health care and would tell others to avoid this office. The care itself at my one appointment was also a bad experience.

I also recently had a miscarriage and she was so kind and was willing to spend the time with me to answer all the questions I had about that too. Will 100% recommend her to anyone!
