Grand Rapids Ear Nose and Throat: what do users think?
T: Dr. Taylor is a most pleasant caring physician. Office staff are also superb! Dr. Taylor's patients are usually complex and a lot of pediatric patients, and special needs patients. I may need to wait a little longer due to complex patients in the office, but my time is never compromised. This is a caring office for all patients.
Dan: Dr Artz is awesome. One of the good guys.
Delores Johnson: Armina has an ATTITUDE problem. The doctors are good but the lady Armina not so nice
Haley Eversman: Dr. Cox was very dismissive of the very apparent pain my 2 year old was in. He barely looked at her and said “she’s fine, follow up in a year”. Knowing my child, I got a second opinion and it turns out that one of her tubes was lodged into her ear canal and the other doctor said it would be terribly painful for her. Poor thing. I will never be returning to GR ENT.
Jimi Arizola: Wouldn’t be surprised if the medical degrees are fakes
Emily Schultz: While having my first visit with Dr. Taylor for my 16month old, the care I received from him and his M.A. Dawn was great. I was happy with that. However, this was our second attempt at an appointment. Our first appointment (which we waited 6weeks for, though that's normal as a first patient) I received a call an hour and half before the appointment to be told the office canceled my appointment with no information as to why and we got rescheduled for two weeks later. When we got to the office we were only 5 min before the scheduled time (because it clashed with other appointments already made before finding out we had to reschedule) and the receiving receptionist was one of the rudest and least professional people I have encountered in a health office. She was not only rude to me, but every person I saw come in after. At the end of the day, you can have a great team of physicians in your practice, but if your patients are treated that way by front staff, you need to do some cleaning up. Your patients are coming to you for a reason, not just for fun. Especially since coming to this office has price tag with it.
Shirley Mason: I was pregnant about a year and a half ago and I developed a polyp in my noise which hindered my severely breathing. Due to pregnancy i couldn't be put under anesthesia, I thought I would have to deal with this until I gave birth. My initial visit was w/doc Mistry and it just felt like he cared and wanted to help me; and he did. I had the procedure, and everyone present not just Doc Mistry was so compassionate helpful and checking on me through the entire process to ensure my comfort. I'm very thankful words can't express my gratitude towards everyone there. Thank you, a million times over for all that you do.
Alison Mace: Really disappointing. The doctor I saw was really dismissive of my questions. There were a ton of people in the room (students and trainees). I would have preferred a smaller group as the room was pretty crowded but no one asked. After talking for a bit; it became obvious he had not reviewed my chart prior to the visit. When I asked about this specifically, he appeared defensive and began walking towards the door to end the appointment. I know everyone is busy and short staffed these days, but this just really felt like poor care with little concern for the patient experience.
Shana- Kay Teria: Lack of punctuality. No respect for people's time. This is my second time here and both times I was early for my appointment and they took forever to call me even though they told me to be here for a particular time. Otherwise, I find everything else okay. The lack of punctuality is a big turn off for me.
Lerae Drayton: I had an appointment they made last week and then they called Monday to cancel it wasn't even 4 working days later. Then I sat in the phone tree getting to number 2 then pushed back to number 10 or further then after the 6 the time getting to the front the person hung up after answering. Totally disrespectful totally unprofessional. Don't even think they really care as this would have been a new patient visit. And things on their list of not included in the exam are things I had included in my last visit with a different ent but he moved away. Just don't put up with these people as they aren't properly prepared to service customers respectfully .
Jaimie Schmitt: This place is terrible to try to schedule with! I was on hold for about 10 minutes, but when it hit 12:00 the phone was picked up and hung up! I called back and they were "closed for lunch." I couldn't believe it. Terrible place! I also had a surgery done here that was also messed up. 0/10 don't recommend.
Pat Jimmerson-King: Very pleased with total treatment from front, to being seen, Nicole, PA was great in her treating me and explained what she suspects as problem.
Casey D: I've been seeing Dr. Pfenning. My biggest reason for only 2 stars is the lack of time management and the lack of respect for people's time that he has. My 1st appointment, I waited 30 minutes past my apt time in the waiting room, and an additional 15 in a room before seeing him. I was obviously a little frustrated when he finally entered. Instead of an apology for the long wait, his response was "you shouldn't be mad, it would take 2 hours anywhere else". When he did my septoplasty, I waited over 3 hours and was finally taken back an hour after the original surgery time. After not eating or drinking for 14 hours already, that extra hour felt like an eternity. Again, no apology. I then waited 27 minutes past my appointment time for my first follow up. Today was supposed to be my final follow up, and my last straw. The appt was originally supposed to be 3/21, but they called me asking if I would come in today because "they had a bunch of time open up". I agreed. My appt was at 1030. I had to work at 1130, only a couple blocks away. I figured an hour would be more than enough time, but of course I was wrong. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes before giving up and walking out. This is obviously a usual occurrence. One would think they would schedule better given he is always so behind. He is also very hard to follow. I left my first appt scheduled for a surgery that I didn't understand one bit. Before surgery, I again asked him to explain exactly what he would be doing, and I still had no idea. My GF had the same experience after talking to him post-op. I will be finding a new ENT.
John Snow: Dr.Pfenning did a super job for me the best
Mary Aguilera: Worst place ever!!!!!!!!!!😡😡😡🤬 I will not go back
M H: disappointing experience
The Lowdown Feedback: Dr. Cox was terrible to work with. Abrupt, disinterested, not thorough, and so brief I barely had time to sit down before I was ushered out again. The facility is as outdated as the doctors practicing there. I do not recommend them and I won't be coming back.
Michele Elizabeth Coles Tomlin (Shelley): Great staff! Helpful nurses. Physician very thorough and knowledgeable. Good bedside....
Dave Schroeter: Enough said
barbara lash: Not very friendly or welcoming as a new patient. Doctor was curt, unpleasant and did not offer solutions or next steps. Would not recommend.
Tracy Davies: I had tubes put in my ears by Dr. Artz and had fluid buildup in my ears from the procedure. I called the next morning and Dr. Artz was in surgery and couldn't see me. The receptionist said his nurse would call and speak with me regarding the fluid in my ears. She never called. I called the following morning and was told the doctor wants me to "wait" a few days to see if it gets better on its own. I explained both ears were filled with fluid and the lady on the other end of the phone really didn't seem to care. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, TERRIBLE FOLLOW-UP! DO NOT GO HERE!

Ear Nose & Throat Center: what do users think?
Paul: Go somewhere else. Laura who answers the “after hours number” is unbelievably inept. She could not answer basic non medical questions, was extremely childish and rude. The question I had was “can the doctors, pa’s, etc look up my recent mri’s/X-rays from spectrum health or mercy health “. She said “I have no idea”.I waited 3 months for this appointment only to get a automated confirmation call the day before explaining I need to bring copy’s of my mri/xray. I call the office at 4:30pm as soon as I got the voice mail. That is when Karen, I mean Laura began to be of no help. This seems like a very simple question and should be of common knowledge for almost any of their staff. Her condescending attitude was obnoxious. She told to me I’d find out tomorrow. How do these kind of people find and retain jobs in the first place. Let alone in a medical setting. I guess medical clinics aren’t as serious as they once where.
Ellie Brand: I should have looked at the reviews on here before accepting the referral from my PCP to this establishment. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. If you actually want help, go somewhere else. I have had hearing issues from a very young age, and it’s gotten so bad to the point where I communicate mainly in sign language and non verbally, and read lips to survive. I can make no phone calls by myself, go to a restaurant by myself/understand what workers are saying to me, and I require a lot of patience from those around me and lots of repetition of what people say. Everyone in my life knows it and can see it. However, Ashley Gorman PA-C told me to drink less caffeine… and that the right side of my nose is a little congested… and to run a fan at night. That’s what she told me. She didn’t take the time to hear about how things are for me, and I felt terribly rushed, and that she wasn’t even listening to a word I said and just nodding in politeness. She told me everything I was feeling, all the frustrations and trials I’ve been through are normal. That’s just how hearing is. It took me breaking down in tears to push for an evaluation for a hearing aid. Imagine being a grown adult paying for their services and being implied that you’re imagining it all. Seriously unprofessional.
Blake Roberts: This place made me go in 3 separate times to talk to a whole bunch of people that all said I had different issues, told them I was looking to get surgery and over a span of FOUR MONTHS I paid $120 to get no where. I finally talked to a surgeon and I can’t even get a call back several days after calling about a surgery I need. This place has no clue what they are doing and put themselves before you.
Mark Perkin: Friendly, knowledgeable service.
Ryan Mazur-Baker: Terrible. If 0 stars were an option that’s where we would be. Called and spoke with Tiffany, who seemed uninterested to talk and schedule appointment in the first place. Told her my symptoms and she said well I would have to document it as hearing loss. Then the day of my appointment I receive a call 10 minutes before I am supposed to be there to tell me no one is there so will have to reschedule my appointment. She then calls back and says well since it is not considered and urgent issue (even though I correctly explained the issue when setting up my appointment), we cannot get you in until the end of September. Extremely unprofessional and lack of care for their patients. This was a staff error not a patient error and now the patient has to deal with it.
Toni Blais: They were great with my troublesome toddler. I showed up five minutes late and they got me in right away. My son had a hearing test and check up and we were out within the hour. The staff was friendly and so creative in getting my son to do the testing and being that he never wants to work with anyone I was impressed. The doctor was even kind enough to put in a referral for me when I mentioned how impatient I was for my family physician to do it for us. I would recommend them to anyone!
Nicholas MacDonald: The only thing they will do in a timely fashion here is bill you. If I could give zero stars I would, so go literally anywhere else you can. If your PCP refers you here, ask them to go somewhere else. Concerns are dismissed out of hand, and they intentionally overbook their schedules so clinicians cannot spend adequate time with patients. You are made to feel like you are keeping them from something more important, when in reality it is almost certainly just another 5 minute visit waiting that they can bill to insurance, or you!
tammy turner: Went in cause ear on left kept plugging up and made both ears ring 5x more than normal. Did it for a day or 2 a week throwing my equilibrium totally off.did a hearing test which of course was wrong cause loud ringing and plugged. Have asked many times to have it rechecked free to prove it wasn't lose of hearing which doc pushed at me and I kept arguing saying no its not. Went to my reg doc, put back on sinular and allergy pill and Flonase and sudefed and it helped alot and a antibiotics that I asked ent for since it happened since Nov when I had covid. I'm alot better but no thanks to a doc who didn't even look in my ears. Also Dr elzinga told me loss of hearing and was no suggesting how to fix it. But it's not what it was anyway. I always have ringing to and heard hearing aids do help drown it out and never have been suggested anything for it.
Steve Gunnink: Dr Daniels and his staff are amazing. Going off 30yr old paper notes from another doctor, he was able to diagnose and rectify my hearing loss.
Josh Ferrell: If I could give this place zero stars I would. I have never had an appointment start on time, always 30 to 45 minutes late to be seen by someone. After you are seen by someone they take an incredibly long time to get through the appointment. Then they have the audacity to price gouge for their “care” for which insurance barely covers. This place and all who work for them are the most incompetent bunch of losers I’ve ever dealt with. Find another specialist.
Scott Norkoli: I was referred to this office, because my PCP said they were “the best in town” I had a biopsy and was given a topical medication, when I ran out I called office to get a refill on Friday morning, still no script on Monday morning. I called office Monday afternoon and was told “The provider has it on their to do list, they have just been busy seeing patients all day.” No amount of expressing my pain would garner sympathy or an accelerated response. It’s now Monday after business hours and I still have no pain meds. I fail to see how the “best in town” can leave patients in pain with no communication of a solution.
Hannah Hovanec: very disappointed with the service. I arrived 10 minutes early to my appointment at 8:45 am and still waited an hour just to be called back, and wait another 20 minutes. The doctor visit itself felt extremely rushed and dismissive of what I've been dealing with for years now. 3 years ago I had a tonsillectomy and had a great experience with Dr. Kosta! unfortunately, this was not the case this time. Dr. Rogghe appeared to be rushed and didn't take the time to listen to what I was discussing, and had me do a hearing test, where the audiologist was very sweet. I then waited another 20 minutes for the doctor, just for her to tell me what we already knew from prior testing. she then gave me 2 rushed, impersonal minutes of her time before saying she was unable to help me with my sinus issues other than we would do another CT scan to determine, but didn't need a reschedule. In other words, there was nothing we could really do. Its upsetting the nurses and doctors were rude and rushed, and that my issues are not taken seriously. If you want to be heard, and have issues addressed in a kind, professional manner that is not dismissive, go elsewhere!
Krish Prad: Great place to visit fo ENT patients. Honestly I don’t no other doctor’s name but in my head is DR winkle mark. How humble , honest and encouraging dr surgeon ever seen. I got ear surgery yesterday. I felt way way better than before. He took care patients so well. answering each and every question. My all fears gone when I start talking with him. Strongly recommend if you visit ENT center at kenmore do not forget to chose him as your ENT issues. He got great skills of counseling, dealing with patient’s fears and so on. Thank you dr winkle mark.
Jacquelyn Zeman: I've been going to this office and seeing their ENTs and audiologists for over 15 years. They are great and have a really smooth system of moving between hearing resources and the ENT center. I did not appreciate this until I moved somewhere else and the communication from audiology to ENT was nonexistent. I highly recommend.
Morgan Blenkhorn: They were very rushed. The doctor didn’t seem to care to go over my concerns and shooed me out of the office before we could go over much data. I was very much made to feel stupid for asking questions about my hearing. The one upside was the staff member who did my ear test. She was very kind.
Cliff Buckmich1: Amy Rogghe examined me. I came with lots of questions. She answered all and was very professional. So very appreciative of her expertise.
Cassie Paulus: This places billing is the worst. We are in a global pandemic and we were making payments on our account and they seriously sent our bill to collections. I have had MANY issues with them. I am besides myself with angry at this place. We were making payments. Would highly recommend anywhere else.
Carrie Lyzenga: We had our 6, 4 and 2 year olds noses cauterized by Mark Winkle and he did a fantastic job. He was patient and made things easy for the kids to understand. He did a great job with our kids - definitely recommend.
Melanie Segur: Take same more antibiotics and steroids and come back in a month! What if it doesnt work?finish your meds. Oh and google silent sinus syndrome when you get home.( that is scary, why tell a patient to do that?
Avy Q: The doctor didn't explain my options and seemed rushed. I paid a lot of money and left with questions. When I called later with a question the nurse was impatient to the point of being curt and rude.
Nicole Adams: Absolutely horrible place, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

Metro Health Ear, Nose and Throat: what do users think?
Jennifer Stoinski: Was disappointed that Michelle Oshinski quoted me $2,000 for an MRI when it ended up actually costing me $3,824.50. When I called the office regarding this discrepancy they did nothing.
Jessica Beauchamp: This was a wonderful specialty office to visit. Dr. Spoto was thorough in explanation and friendly. In fact, all of the staff was very friendly. I liked how Dr. Spoto also paid attention to my 4 year old with answering her questions and giving her stickers even though the appointment was for me. I would absolutely recommend this place.
Stacey Lynn: Dr. Spoto was great with my daughter and answering all our questions. It was disappointing though when the billing department at Metro Health billed us for an in office test she never had and would not correct the mistake.
Brandon O: Wife's had half thyroid removed. Team was awesome! No scaring. Doc.Highlander light hearted and cares about his patents. Your in real good hands here. Wife and I have been to many places. None have had such a good experience.

Francis Hart, MD: what do users think?
Rhonda Kuhns: He has taken excellent care of my mom, she had throat cancer. He has also taken excellent care of me. Wonderful bedside manners and very knowledgeable.
Sarah Cooke: Dr.Hart is one of the kindest, most caring doctors I've ever met. He has changed my son's life♥️ We can't thank him enough for the time he devotes to all of his patients and the fact that he actually cares, that is very hard to find these days!
JoAnn Delmar: Dr. Hart is a wonderfully kind and skilled physician. He fixed my deviated septum and I can breathe again! I am forever grateful. I don't know how anyone could dislike him ever!
Joshua Guiles: One of the most caring surgeons I've met. Made absolute sure I was aware of any and every risk to surgery - but when I asked him to stop giving professional cautionary modest advice (what research shows, and past results) and asked for his personal opinion, he told me exactly what I was looking to hear. Before surgery he went over every risk and made absolute sure I had no worries or unanswered questions. Post op follow-up he was extremely careful looking it over, and told me that my upkeep of the operated area was on point and asked if I wanted to be seen in another couple weeks or if I wanted to wait longer. He and his staff really are out for your best interest and best results. Keep up the good work, Dr. Hart and staff.
Breanna Fron: Horrible experience if I could give him a zero I would. I know have a hole where he categorized to much! Not to mention it's been four weeks since my surgery and I still have yet to get a call back from my post surgery check up after they said they would call me back! I would not recommend this place or this doctor!

Dr. Sherman A. Sprik, MD: what do users think?
Randy Swanson: I have been to Dr Spriks office many times in the last two years. Dr Sprik and his staff have been professional, timely and attentive to my needs. I have always had positive experiences regarding my visits. Dr Sprik is hard working, knowledgeable and has very good bedside manners. I enjoy his personality. I have always received excellent medical care.
Jason & Rachel O'Callaghan: Both of my children, as well as myself, have seen Dr Sprik. The office is clean and staff is pleasant. Dr Sprik is kind and through. I have always felt confident with his abilities and appreciate his 'instinct'. He listens to me as well as my kids to really understand. I will not go anywhere else.
Julie Kibler: Dr. Sprik is great. I have taken my 5 old son to see him and I enjoyed the experience so much, that when I need to see an ENT, I call him to make an appointment. He's such a nice guy and a wonderful doctor.
Connor Hawkins: I wouldn't trust this doctor to do anything! Just a warning, he is a nice guy but very old and out of date with his skills. Used antiquated techniques on my daughter (who uses iodine anymore?) and several times appeared quite confused on what he was doing and what the next step was in the procedure. At one point he also had a discussion with his old nurse about what to do next because he didn't know. Neither of them seemed to know what to use or do next! Very scary. Like I said, he is a nice guy, but he should have retired years ago.
rhett ainsworth: Wouldn't trust this guy to watch a dog, let alone help with any ear, nose or throat problems only after he talked me into an operation I didn't need that resulted in a quarter size hole in my septum. Now whenever I get a cold my nose bleeds and almost always results in a sinus infection. On top of that I have to flush my nose out everyday so I can breath properly. Even after the nightmare Dr. Sprik put me through he still never diagnosed the problem that I initially sought help for. I had to go to a real doctor at the University of Michigan. They solved the problem the same day and all they did was ran a culture and found out I had a staph infection in my sinuses. Something Sprik should have done to start with considering he has years of experience? All I have to say is avoid this bumbling idiot at all costs.
