sandra ann lauer: What a ripoff. Offered me "about a hundred" for a 10 ounce bar of silver. That was an insult not an offer as current prices were near 270$. Went to Grand Valley Silver and Gold where Bob treated me fairly and honestly. I was paid nearly two and a half times more than these bandits offered.

You bring something to any pawn shop, expect way less than what it's worth and don't be mad if they won't buy your items. They are trying to make money on it. Brian Morofsky: I have been to different Pawn Shops around Grand Rapids, but nothing like this place. I was given top dollar for the things I brought to them, I was never beat down on what I was trying to get. I was given the upmost respect through the whole process. I highly recommend them. If you want a fair deal, this is the place to go.

Attention was given, politeness.. and above that, information, not only on things at this shop, but what other pawn shops I might try if I couldn't find this or that at his shop. The prices were informed and fair, reasonably competing with craigslist and ebay, and the while the outside of the store doesn't look all that classy.. inside it's extremely clean, and very well organized, very professional looking. If you have to pick one pawn shop in the area to -start- at.. start here, and get advice about other places to visit! (I always respect a person who will send customers to competitors!)

August Shoen: I’m disgusted with the lack of information, professionalism, and care at this business. I pawned my activated iPad for a little dough. I was told I could not retrieve my device for two weeks because it had to go through a police check. I was told I had two weeks to pick it up after the initial two weeks and it would gain interest daily. After one month it would be up for sale. I returned 16 days after the initial pawn to retrieve my device. They sold it! They didn’t even give me a window to pick it up. The owner told me because I didn’t pick it up on the exact day of the two weeks they could sell it. I’m flabbergasted. I asked for official paperwork - receipts, copy of sold, etc and he couldn’t deliver and didn’t even try to. He seemed annoyed by my presence. Instead he insinuated that I misunderstood and he couldn’t help me. This business has been around for 27 years, the owner isn’t American, and he obviously has no integrity in business. I wouldn’t not suggest coming here other than to buy some shady product.

Kobe Bean: Does not answer the phone when calling, and still has not updated the location of the pawn shop. I Pulled up during my lunch period for no reason. Pawn shop no where to be found and no answer after calling 3x. Successful businesses needs to be proactive with these things. Updating the google address is crucial for a satisfactory customer experience.

But the staff was patient, even when the purchase came up as unauthorized they tried to run it again, came down to me finding out later when I put my address into Gpay I put 1335 instead of 1135 for my address and even though I wasn't able to make my purchase at this location I got was I was looking for at a coin and jewelry store next to it. Would recommend this place to anyone looking for any number of things as it was very clean, well managed, and had a great assortment of items.

I had visited the one at Leonard and Alpine a few times, and they were close, both in selection and service, especially in tools, but as that one was torn down a year ago, these guys now hold the crown.I've seen them work with people if they needed a few days to make a payment, in my experience they've been knowledgeable, and if not, not scared to say so, then accessing the internet for information. Friendly bunch of guys, who give a fair price, IF one understands what to expect from a Pawn Shop.In case someone reading this doesn't, if one is going to pawn or sell something, keep in mind they are a business. They have to keep the lights on, and make a profit FIRST!! As a general rule, one can expect to be offered about a third of what an item is WORTH if one goes to pawn or sell an item. (Watch Pawn Stars a couple times, same general percentages)Keep in mind that because YOU bought that TV Four years ago for 5k, you're not getting 4k, or even 3k.Yeah, four years ago, that TV was worth 5k. But with advances in tech, it MAY only be worth 1k now.
