april mae: My son has an educational AND a medical ASD diagnosis. This clinic never asked for any additional information (the clinic I switched to was very quick to ask for his paperwork and offer further lab tests or referrals.) they also almost Never reacquainted themselves with his chart when walking into the room and were caught off guard most times we explained he was behind developmentally bc of his ASD. After 2 years we were over it and left.

Genavieve “Mom Vlogger” M: We have been patients here for almost two years. In hindsight There were red flags. We moved from another state and couldn’t get the pediatricians to actually read our child’s file despite her preexisting medical condition and when we requested continued care (genetic testing) we were told “we’ll decide if that’s necessary” with zero follow up. At some point we got a bill for $3 and forgot to pay it. Bill was sent to collections which doubled it plus $10 making it a $16 bill. Come a medical concern and the office refused to see my six year old until the bill was paid. I paid it immediately but it still took hours to even schedule an appointment. This was cruelty towards a child who needed medical attention but was forced to wait all day over $16. I’m disgusted by the experience and this office’s priorities. I will never take my kids back.

Tyler Baum: We’ve been going here for 3.5 years and two kids and love it. They treat us like family and go above and beyond, especially for our youngest who had a lot of complications. Everyone here is fantastic!

We see Dr. Walter and our kids (2 boys and a girl) are very comfortable with her.I also love the early hours urgent care where we can walk-in before the regular day starts. We don't need this so much now that our kids are teens. But it was wonderful when they were younger and we had a kid wake up with an ear infection or fever.I highly recommend this practice.

Cherise Posey: This was a great place until yesterday! However, my kids were seeing Dr. Daining until he recently retired; awesome guy! I received a letter certified mail from Alger Peds yesterday 2/28/22. The letter was dated 11/11/21. The letter was informing me that they didn’t want to service my children anymore because I continued to take them to emergency and not contacting the office first. These are my children and most time when you call after hours they are rude; especially Hoffman. They tell you anything to get you off the phones. If I feel my child’s need is emergent, I’m gonna take them to emergency it’s not like it’s coming out of Algers pocket. The practice manager Luanne was rude as well when I spoke to her she even tried to lie and say I got the letter because of too many missed appointments yet the letter mentioned nothing of missed appointment. My kids make every appointment scheduled. She then said it was her mistake! They are very rude when they answer the phones and just throw you on hold. I will be filing a grievance!

Tony Buti: My wife went to this place as a child, and all 4 of our girls have been going here as well.They have never had a problem with us not having our kids fully vaccinated but since Covid they have been making snide remarks about having everyone’s vaccinations up to date.Ain’t happening!When we put our foot down they said we would no longer be a good fit and to find another pediatrician.Since when does the CDC guidelines have authority over the law of the land? It’s unconstitutional and illegal to refuse medical treatment based on religious beliefs, ethnicity etc..They said they will have a doctor call me back to discuss making an exception but I have a sneaking suspicion I won’t be receiving a phone call at all. Receptionist couldn’t wait to get me off the phone and was constantly interrupting me.

RaeShawn Jones: Our daughter has been going to Alger Pediatrics since she was born back in June 2020. We have not had any bad experiences with the doctors. When I first called to pick a doctor, I talked to a nurse who asked me what I wanted out of a doctor. I have high anxiety and am a first time mom so I wanted to have a patient doctor that would explain things in detail and answer all of my “dumb” questions. The nurse told me that Dr Larue would be perfect! She was right. We absolutely LOVE her. She’s more than we could ever hope for. She’s been out for a few months so were were placed with Dr Veenema and he’s amazing too!!! He is so kind and has a positive energy we love. He too is very patient, attentive, and makes sure he’s explaining what he’s doing and why. We’ve also had random visits with Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Addy too and also had positive experiences.Our experience with the nurses have overall been good. When they are busy, some may be curt and to the point but never rude. I get it. But today I had an experience with a nurse (Chris) when calling about my daughter being directly exposed to COVID and wanting some direction as to first steps and quarantine recommendations (per her daycare’s suggestion). We’ve been there a few times with my daughter for COVID symptoms, but never when she’s had prolonged direct contact with someone who tested positive. When Chris first answered, she asked me “how can I help you.” I began to explain and she cut me off and asked for my daughter’s birthday and said “okay… I kinda need to know who we’re talking about.” I paused but gave her the information and continued to explain and she cut me off AGAIN… “does she have any symptoms” right as I was telling her that she didn’t yet. She then quickly said, “she’s going to have to quarantine for up to 20 days, we are referring people out to Spectrum for testing would you like me to put that in ?” I tried to ask for clarification on the days and she cut me off AGAIN. She insisted that they don’t offer COVID test even tho we had already had a few. I then asked for her name and she said it and immediately asked without pause if I wanted to speak with her supervisor. I told her that I understand that it’s hectic but that I’d never worked with someone this rude. Her response was “sorry, we all are. Can I help you with anything else?” Later after I calmed a bit, I decided that I did want to speak with a supervisor. Once connected to one, the lady sounded just as uninterested as Chris had. I said that we had a negative experience with a nurse. She responded “okay…thanks for telling me” I asked if she wanted the nurses’ name. She said she already knew and said thank you. No apologizes for the experience or hinting that anything would even be addressed. Nothing. Just “thanks.” No wonder Chris was so quick to offer her manager up, they were both equally rude!We LOVE this office, but they may want to weed out the people not holding up to their standards. That was the worst experience we’d ever had but it doesn’t define the other experiences we’ve had.

Melea Rose: If you want to fully vaccinate your child go here. If you have alternative beliefs or desires look somewhere else! This office is NOT worth your time and you can find MUCH better. They vaccinate for financial gain not for the well-being of your child and once I found out about that I was out of there.

NL: a very unprofessional practice with ALOT of bias and unprofessionalism. Dr. addy and front staff are terribly biased and unprofessional and do not treat parents as equals, rather than care for the child at hand, she focuses on her biased opinions of very irrelevant and judgemental thinking.

Annalise Kontras: We love this practice. We have seen most of the doctors, and all of them were knowledgable, kind, patient with our questions, and attentive. We see Dr. Veenema regularly and highly recommend him. One of the best things about Alger Peds is the daily walk-in hours!

Jessie Bruzan: I absolutely LOVE the Dr.s at Alger pediatrics. My son has had several ear infections and colds and they have gone above and beyond to get us seen even on weekends or when they were closed. The staff is friendly and the Dr.s are knowledgeable and you don’t feel the rush that most Dr. offices put on you when asking questions. We see Dr. Rauwerda as our primary Dr. and love her! I would highly recommend Alger pediatrics to anyone in search of a friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive Dr. office.

Grace Mihalik: Ok first and foremost love this office. Everyone there is great. We have been seeing Doc Daining now for 9 years and he is the rock that holds my family together medically. Never have issues with anything. Things may get a little mixed up occasionally but everyone is human. I am seeing quite a few negative reviews on Doctor Hoffman. He is different but don't mistake him for being good. I have seen sides of him that people talk about after hours with him being kid of short. Yes he can be. But he also has the kindest heart around. I have seen him show empathy and compassion when my daughter was hospitalized for a few days with a very severe face infection. I have seen this man sound irritated for me paging him but, he always shows me another side. This past time, he had the nurse call to see how my daughter was on a Saturday. He always waves and makes it a point to say hello when we are in, even when we are not there to see him. This whole practice is amazing. I could not get through the things my kids have happening medically with out this practice. Without Doc Daining, we would simply be lost. I can't repay this office for all the times they have pulled my family through some tough ordeals with medically related things. I just know we have the best of the best and as a mom it makes my job easier.

Isabella Ramos: LOVE Alger pediatrics! Dr. Rauwerda was my pediatrician and she was so personable and genuine that I had to have her for my first child! She answers all my questions and eases my sanity as a new mom. She also is so great with babies she just gets right in there sometimes with feedings, and changing his diaper if he needs it. I also love the staff! Every single person is so friendly there. And there isn’t much turnover so everyone who has been there has been there for a while which I think says a lot about how they take care of their employees

Andre Champoux: We love Dr. Rauwerda so far for our newborn and would highly recommend her! She is kind and doesn’t seem to rush you or belittle you if your questions are silly (new parents, right?!). One of her strong points is in the education for us- her explanations are very helpful.The nurses on the phone are hit or miss as far as politeness goes and sometimes they do make us feel as though we are wasting their time by calling. However it is nice to have them available for quick questions. My wife was able to send a photo of my daughter’s rash and the nurse had the doc look at it without us having to come in.Another advantage is that there is a Lactation consultant available one day a week for breastfeeding questions and in-person guidance.One suggestion I do have is possibly having more than one nurse come in to give baby’s immunizations. It is really quite the process for one single person to do all the injections and it makes it seem more traumatic for my babe and for me since it can take a long time to administer them all alone.The other downside is the building and environment itself. It’s quite outdated and feels dingy. Time for a renovation! (Even just a fresh coat of paint would help). But I can certainly overlook that because quality care and quality, professional people matter more!

MPost: If you decide to bring your children to this office. I highly recommended you choose any Doctor but Doctor Hoffman. Some may say he is a good Doctor in there reviews. He maybe, but we have not felt that. My advice is shared with a few of my friends of the family who bring their kids here as well, and feel the same as what I am writing.Every experience we have had with the Doctors, especially Doctor Addy has been awesome!We put our trust and faith into our Doctors here. When we do not know the answers to what may be going on with our child. If the office it closed. We call the after hour number like others.If Doctor Hoffman is on call that night. I recommend you choose another direction that night. Twice he has made us feel dumb, embarrassed, and belittled us for wasting his time. Without actually saying the words to us. We should not feel this way. No matter what are questions maybe. We should not feel like we are wasting his time.He is unprofessional and needs to have a warmer heart for people in this field. Even if the clients like us are asking the questions wrong to him. Does not excuse Dr. Hoffman. He could at least act like a professional and make people feel better after they get off the phone, not worse. I recommend any one but Dr. Hoffman. Solely on his manners. Which goes along way in my mind.You want your family to feel comfortable, and like they care for the best for your family. He makes my family and I feel nervous and uncomfortable when comes to an emergency. No matter what level of emergency it maybe. You can treat people with respect.Again, the experience with the other Doctors have been Great!I hope Dr. Hoffman can reevaluate how he treats a family. They are calling intially because something maybe wrong with there child and need advice. Not to make the situation worse by making people uncomfortable and disrespected. Because the Doctor does not know how to have a respectful professional conversation. No matter what the questions or situations. You still should act like you truly care. Especially if you’re a Doctor, taking care of children.

Emily Simmington: ABC pediatrics and specifically Dr Perry is amazing. They visited my newborn in our PP room in the hospital and were able to detect that she needed extra care in the NICU. Literally life savers! My baby loved Dr Perry for 9 months and we would still be with ABC Peds if we didn’t move out of town. Highly recommended.
