James Lott: The owner and staff are friendly, and my pooch is always excited to go see the other dogs here. In my opinion it's a little on the pricey side, but with the amount of business they have and the length of time it takes to get an appointment, it would be bad business sense to have lower prices. I'm overall happy with Cats vs. Dogs

Betsie Walen: Review Update 2023:Still a 5. We're always happy & Lola always comes home happy & tired from all the play. Our 12 yo dog 🐕 just spent a week here. Sleeping on the couch, hanging with the overnight person watching movies. NO kennels/crates unless that's what your pet prefers. Trish called before we left to be absolutely sure she understood how & when to give meds for pain & kidney issues. Later in the week another sitter apologized for calling but they wanted to be certain they understood about the meds and specific diet. We feel this is EXCELLENT care - NOT a bother at all.A phone call on pickup day so the night time sitter could fill us in on Lola's week. Who does that ? NorthBark.Leaving Lola with them is like having a good friend care for her.

Connie Hamilton: Another groomer told us to sedate our puppy if we wanted to return. The Hound Dog was patient and, quite frankly, did a superior job with our Goldendoodle’s cut. We are now loyal clients. Recently we had to unexpectedly change our appointment, but they were booked. They put us on a waiting list and contacted us as soon as a cancellation came in. We were able to get Louie groomed a full week earlier than the next available appointment. Most other groomers wouldn’t take the time to call us with another appointment time when we already had one a week later. We have only experienced Amy as our groomer, but I would be comfortable with any of the stylists there. So happy we found this little place right off 28th street near the Lincoln dealership.
Tom Townsend: 2 thumbs up for Hound Dog Grooming! What an excellent group of people working together in a fun environment. It is easy to tell they enjoy what they do. They're smart and fun to talk to.Neat workspace they have: WYSIWYG; nothing hidden, all open for anyone to see from the sidewalk. I esp like that pets are taken 1 at a time and don't need to spend most of the day there. My dog was well cared for and he looks fantastic. I'll certainly be a repeat customer.

Meredith Hamlin: I was very disappointed in my experience here. I asked that they cut our dog’s hair and brush her out and not make her look like a poodle (she’s a goldendoodle). They called within 10 minutes of me dropping her off to say they would have to shave her and she was biting. She has never bitten at a groomer before and she gets brushed out every 6 week so the matting was not bad. When they were finished I got a text that said I had to pick her up in 30 minutes or would be charged. I went over to get her right away and she was completely shaved other than a poodle haircut on the top of her head and a fluffy poodle tale. She looks awful and it was $160. They were a couple of grumpy ladies who don’t seem happy with their jobs. I would not recommend.

Lindsey Peters: I brought my 3 year old Yorkie-poo here for the first time today and I am very pleased with how the hair cut turned out. He was quite matted and overgrown when I dropped him off. He smelled and looked amazing when I got there to pick him up. My dog has been known to have an “attitude” in the past while being groomed and always seemed traumatized when I would pick him up from petco and would lay around all day when we would get home. He seemed happy when I went to get him from VIP grooming salon and has been running around playing since we walked in the door. The ladies there seemed to care about my dog as if he was their own. I will definitely be recommending them to my friends and family!!

MrRogersComment: Was pretty expensive compared to other groomers in the area we have used, and our dog seemed off when we got her home compared to other grooming appointments in the past.
Ella Ehmann: We just had the most horrible experience with our sweet puppy. She was kept in a cage for 4 hours not even touched when we showed up to check on her. We picked her up and she wasn’t bathed. Barely cut her body, and didn’t even touch her face. They covered her with perfume and didn’t even bother to call us when she was kept in a kennel for multiple hours. Horrible DO NOT go here unless you want your dog unattended for.

Sam Wilkening: I've been bring my dogs here for years. I had an appointment scheduled for Friday am. I've been scheduling Friday am appointments since that works for my schedule. I received a call today to confirm my appointment for Thursday am... I cannot do that. They completely mis-scheduled me and are 'full' on Friday. They could not/would not honor the Friday am appointment. I agreed to bring one dog that really needs to be groomed for a mid-morning appointment, however I couldn't bring both dogs and then wait for the second one since I have prior appointments Friday afternoon. I would have to find someone else to groom the other dog in the near future. I was told the owner said if I'm not bringing both, then the one dog was not welcome... So basically now I have to find a new groomer. With scheduling lead times, I'm going to have one dog that is a mess since he really needs to be groomed every 5-6 weeks. It's a shame that they do business this way. They screwed up my appointment, and then were not flexible fixing the mistake. I was being as flexible as my schedule allowed. I really would not recommend doing business with someone that would put a dog in need of a grooming out like this because they made a mistake. Find another groomer if you want someone that will be reliable.

We are so happy and recommend her to everyone we know!!The building has recently been renovated into several single pet grooming businesses. There is a really nice sized parking lot in the back, pretty easy to get to from Lake Michigan Dr.
