Pilates in East: what do users think?
Susan Irwin: The two training courses I took with Ahme were so informative, enlightening, and fun. She provided bonus materials that were above what she needed to do, and would really enable my teaching.I felt more confident after the courses and look forward to implementing all that I learned. The facilities are also beautiful.
Christie Frisch: I have taken several instructor trainings at Pilates in East, all with Ahme. She is not only a master at teaching and cuing Pilates, she is also deeply invested in supporting her students to become successful, and in the quality of the training she offers. She includes a variety of teaching tools including q&a, lecture, practice teaching, observation and personal practice time, and the 16 hour training intensives always seem to fly by. After each training she has emailed us students bonus materials and sample videos which have been hugely helpful as I get started with teaching on my own and need a refresher. I appreciate that she includes tons of detailed information on the “why” behind the exercises, alignments and modifications and she has a very thorough understanding of anatomy. She’s an entrepreneurial powerhouse and a great person to learn from on all fronts. Highly recommend training with Ahme! I feel lucky to have found her and I’m happy to make the 2 hour drive each time!
Michele Young: I started pilates at Pilates in East in November 2022. My goals were to get stronger, in better shape and improve my flexibility and balance. I am so happy that I went to the free Intro class because I quickly knew that I wanted to learn more. I fall in love with pilates more and more each week and I am feeling great! Thank you to all of your amazing instructors!!
Claudia Ligas: Pilates in East is the best of the best! All of their instructors make every class a positive and healing experience!! Affordable prices and such a lovely studio with separate private studios, you just can’t beat it! There truly is no place like it❤️ If you want to change your life for the better this is the place to be!
Joanne Grunau: Had the opportunity to delve into Pilates instructor training this past weekend with Ahme at Pilates in East. What a fantastic experience. The studio(s) are beautiful - clean and up to date with a vast set of equipment and accessories. The teacher training was fantastic - though the material was far beyond my expertise, Ahme broke it down into manageable bits, and she is masterful at coming up with examples to make the lessons come to life. I couldn't have asked for a better introduction, and look forward to coming back to the studio sometime soon!
Ellen Conrad: I am so glad I finally took the step to enroll in the studio.I started my classes last month & I can already feel the difference in my posture, spine & range of motion. The schedule is great, the instructors are expert & watchful & the studio is bright & immaculate.I could not ask for a better fit.
Simone Lutz: What a fabulous studio in East Grand Rapids! Ahme and the team are incredibly knowledgable, informative, and passionate about sharing the benefits of pilates! You wil get an amazing workout from world class instructors! I can't wait to attend my next training course and classes at Pilates in East!
Greg Boyce: I'm in Canada and I do Pilates virtually with the teachers at Pilates in East on a rented reformer. They also have pre-recorded classes so if I'm doing something else during a live virtual class, I pick up one of the recorded classes. I'm a male, 70, with moderate hip arthritis and I really benefit from the classes to keep me mobile, esp the leg circles in straps. Thankyou PinEast
Sarah Marzke: I’ve taken many courses this past year with Ahme at Pilates in East. She is a wealth of knowledge. I cannot recommend her or her studio enough!!
Ashley Marlette: I experienced this through a Sweatnet event and I was pleasantly surprised, the workout was fantastic, and the instructor was everything you would want in an instructor, courteous, knowledgeable, and knew how to connect with her students. If you are able to try Pilates in East, I definitely recommend it.
Rachel Neiman: Loved my classes at Pilates in East! The instructors were amazing and took the extra care to ensure I had the correct form for safety and optimal workout. I took classes from Iona 3x/week while I lived in GR, and she always kept her classes engaging by keeping the circuits unique and challenging. All of the instructors I had were very conscious to advise on position adjustments to accommodate for any injuries. Could not rave about this place enough!
Kelli Corl: Pilates in East is my new favorite place! What a workout! I am gaining strength and flexibility and I never get bored. Every workout is different and I am working muscles I never knew I had. The instructors are amazing and lead the classes with knowledge and passion. I look forward to working out at Pilates in East every week! You need to try it, you won't be disappointed!
Rhonda Markham: Pilates in East has fabulous instructors who are very knowledgeable and fun! Highly recommend this studio!
Caitlin Bovee: Every time I come to the studio, I smile. I leave feeling amazing. Top notch instructors, creative and safe programing, an amazing facility, you can't get all three anywhere else.
Linda Kolmodin: I attended a course lead by Ahme and was thoroughly impressed with her knowledge and ability to communicate her expertise in such a relevant way. Wonderful studio-great location
Kelsey Cheyne: Pilates in East is a fantastic studio for both group classes and Pilates Instructor training. Ahme has a way of making the most complex movements simple to learn and teach!
James Fisher: My first Pilates studio but I’ve seen massive improvement in flexibility, balance, and reduction in joint pain. Would highly recommend. Great staff, but Elizabeth and Cynthia both are great instructors.
Susana Gomez: I absolutely love this place ! I joined pilates after my chiropractor highly suggested I try this to help me with my chronic back issues. Having done absolutely no research on pilates, I contacted Wendy ( studio coordinator) who assisted in scheduling my complimentary introductory class. After my first private class with Mollie, I instantly knew this was for me. Mollie is very supportive & encouraging pushing me to my full potential. This is exactly what I needed to transform my body. I make the drive from Holland to Pilates in East & I absolutely love it. Every interaction I have had with the entire staff has been over the top. Thank you Pilates in East for such a welcoming environment.
Stephanie Lyons: Rebecca is an amazing instructor! She helped me get excited and look forward to exercising. Not only do I have fun in every class, I’m learning more about the mind, body connection. I feel stronger and more grounded. Love this place and the people so much!
BJ Johnson: I’ve been coming here for Group and Private Classes for almost a year now! This is a fantastic studio.
lindsay carlson: I’ve tried other Pilates studios in the area and other states, and Pilates in East is hands down the best I have experienced. The instructors are top notch and the space is beautiful. I love Elizabeth and Rebecca’s classes, but all of the instructors are amazing! So glad to be part of this community!

Club Pilates: what do users think?
Megan Gustavson: Pilates is an amazing way to start the day! The instructors really care and take the time to know you and call you by name. The best membership I have ever had!
shoran williams: The best thing I have ever done for myself was to go to my first class, and to to keep attending 2-3 a week, which has led to sustained changes in my body and mind.
Judith Jankowski: I love club Pilates at Breton Village. The classes and teachers are great. I have attended classes for over two years and feel that my strength and flexibility have increased. It has been a good way to start the day.
Brianna Thiel-Johnson: DO NOT SIGN A CONTRACT WITH CLUB PILATES. Billing and cancellation is a nightmare. Took 3 months to get them to cancel my membership after I was no longer able to continue using the subscription-- equating to hundreds of dollars of wasted money. Every employee I spoke with gave a different story, and the manager was unwilling to stand by what I was told when I first requested to cancel. Very misleading and dishonest business practices.
Laura Piippo: I’ve been coming to classes at Club Pilates for just over a year. I’ve really enjoyed the variety of classes that meet the needs of individuals and their skill level. All the instructors are well trained and very encouraging and helpful. My body has made changes that are very positive with improved strength, mobility and stability. I’ve also lost some weight as I’ve coordinated my Pilates training with improved eating habits. Oh, and they have a lot of options for class time availability for people’s schedules.
Emily Brouillet: Great studio. Great teachers. I've been going since October and have really enjoyed my classes. Highly recommend.
Nancy Harkema: Great place to work out! Instructors are great! Great place for beginners as well as advanced.
Kelsey Pasma: So far I have loved my experience at Club Pilates! The instructors and front desk workers are all incredibly nice and encouraging. I love the variety in the workouts- from low impact to high cardio there’s some thing for everybody!
Daneal Garbow: Such a great workout!! I always look forward to my classes
Linnae C: I’ve really enjoyed my first weeks at this studio. I’m still taking level 1 classes, but the workouts WORK. Even after my Intro class, I could feel my muscles activated (and sore—but in the best way). Even after the first week (going 3-4x), I noticed a change in my posture and stance, which lead to a lot less body aches. I get really nervous entering new places and class-lead gyms where there already seems to be a community built, but the teachers and other clients are so warm and welcoming. I look forward to my workout each day!
Theresa Petko: I have been waiting for years to be able to experience Pilates on the reformer, so I am ecstatic that Club Pilates is here and offers exceptional instructors and classes-all in a friendly community atmosphere. Every time I leave a class, I feel stronger, fitter and grateful for the experience.
Christine Sapp: I absolutely love Club Pilates. I'm not very flexible and I have hip and spine issues, but lying on my back on the Reform machines I feel fully comfortable and support. I love my classes because the instructors are all great and very helpful. Some sessions are harder than others, but I always leave feeling accomplished and more confident! This is a membership that I will keep throughout the rest of life! #mylifeisbetterwithClubPilates!
Martha Macarthur: The instructors are welcoming and helpful no matter the level of familiarity with Pilates. The classes help me feel stronger and more flexible. I am always glad that I attended the class.
Rin Chamberlin: I love Breton Village Club Pilates! As a person with hypermobile joints (and therefore low muscle tone), I've spent years trying to figure out what type of exercise was right for me. Club Pilates offers free intro classes multiple times a week, so a friend and I decided to try it out. I was immediately hooked. The instructors stress that Pilates offers benefits for functional movement, and they are so right. Simple things like walking up a staircase or bending down to pick up something from the floor feel so different after several classes. Reformer Pilates makes life easier by getting your body to work the way it was meant to. I recommend taking a variety of classes led by different instructors. You'll be amazed at how no two classes are ever the same! If you get an unlimited membership, you can also take classes at the Knapp's Crossing location. Both studios are always clean and well organized. They have a retail section with grip socks (required for class) and workout clothes. Five out of five stars. What are you waiting for? Book a free intro class to check it out today!
George Aquino: My wife and I have enjoyed our membership at Club Pilates. Staff and management always made us feel special. Make sure to join classes taught by Rebekah, Heidi and Natalie. They are the best!
Kellie Durr: Pilates is the most important part of my day. I love how it has made me feel and couldn't imagine a day without it. The instructor's care about you and push you to do your best!!!
Lyndsay Kalcec: I love Club Pilates so much. The staff is great and the atmosphere is calm and clean. Extra bonus Pilates has helped my constant back back pain tremendously!! My only complaint or wish really is i wish they had one closer to where i live.
Andrea Whitsell: Breton Village Club Pilates is a fantastic place to workout at. I have been a member for 2+ years and I feel strong and more confident. I love the way I feel and carry myself. It is something that I love doing, I do not make excuses, because I can’t wait to get to class.
Ramona Roddy: I loved going to the Club Pilates @Breton Village. The trainers were experienced and very knowledgeable ESp Rebecca. Unfortunately the operational hours changed and I was not able to continue my membership there. If things change I will definitely be rejoining. For anyone who has second thoughts Don't. Join now! You will not regret it.
lala marookian khoygani: Highly recommend to anyone looking to try something new, move their body in different ways, recovering from injuries, trying to stay strongand looking for an inviting personable environment!
Tressa Brondyke: Not really a workout class type of gal, but I do like my Pilates classes at Club Pilates! The instructors are very knowledgeable, helpful, and motivating. The staff checking us in at the beginning of every class are so nice - they even learned my name and address me by it every time we see each other. It really is a good workout and I am learning lots...all while feeling better! Having two locations (Breton Village and Knapp Corner) to choose from is a bonus!

Steve Tooker: Kaitlyn and Embody Pilates are both truly outstanding! The studio is perfect for teaching and very convenient for Grand Rapids. Kaitlyn is very easy to schedule with and understands that schedules can change. Kaitlyn really works hard to understand the challenges of my flexibility and balance and to work progressively over time to really help me grow and improve, and does so with fun. I could not be more thankful for her skills and efforts! Outstanding

Club Pilates: what do users think?
Dianna Katsaros: Pilates has transformed my body. I love it!
S S: I love club Pilates and definitely have been seeing positive changes with my body! I am more toned than I have been in a long time and feel great after every work out! I go strictly for the work out! To be honest I do not feel the staff is very friendly/warm they do not greet you by name and I feel like they are kind of short when asked a question etc - overall it’s been a great experience as far as the workouts go and the app is great too! The staff can work on customer service a little more! But happy overall!
Beth Austin: After doing barre for a long time I was interested in trying something new. So glad I became a member of Club Pilates! I love the classes and variety of them, and all of the instructors are great and very encouraging!
Elisabeth Sochacki: Terrific way to start my day! Feeling stronger than ever! Excellent instructors willing to help everyone find the best “fit” for their knees, back, shoulder or what ever needs accommodations!
K Faber: I’ve loved every level class I’ve done. The instructors are personal, watching to be sure each move is done correctly. We’ll rounded work outs!
Erica Monroe: I’ve been coming to Club Pilates for three months. I love the instructors and have seen so many improvements to my strength and overall fitness!
Courtney Gabridge: Love this place!!! Already in love in only 3 sessions!!!
Tressa Sedlock: I do not HATE my Pilates classes at CP Knapp and Breton Village. And that is almost like saying I love my classes. I was not into working out before these classes. I saw the ad online and thought those machines looked like fun because well, you lay down using them. That’s pretty close to napping as far as relaxation goes in my mind. So that’s how I got started. My family keeps teasing me that I really love working out at CP and just because I am stubborn I will only go so far as to say I do not HATE my CP experience! And that’s why I keep coming back.Great atmosphere, great instructors and front desk people. Go on, try it. You might just not hate it too.
Samantha Woody: Great place to work out! Constantly showing new moves, keeps it interesting and fun!
Alison Mace: Pilates has helped with my posture, muscle tone, flexibility. The only work out I’ve ever done that leaves me feeling energized after.
Jodi Kubizna: Love club pilates. I have never felt better since starting pilates. Fun environment and very inviting.
Linnae C: I took my intro Pilates class at this studio and the instructor who lead there really helped sway my decision in joining Club Pilates. The fact that she, and all the instructors, go through telling you how the moves correlate with each muscle group help to contribute to the workout. They were so clear about answering all of my questions regarding membership and adjustments for my knee. I appreciate how each instructor takes personal care and genuine interest in each member getting the best workout they can.
Karen Brush: Awesome workout!!! You know it is working when your husband says ‘ wow, you look really great-that Pilates classes are working!!!
Dawn Elliott: Just started going to classes and love it. The instructors are fun, knowledgeable and change up the routines for a new experience each time. After every class I am already looking forward to the next one. Highly recommend.
Susan Koster: A great place to build strength and core! What a positive difference in my movement and flexibility due to just two classes a week!
Michele Keller: This is my first full week at the Knapp location. I absolutely love it. The staff and members were very welcoming.I hate trying new things as I was a member for 4 years at a different establishment but because of on going back issues pilates was suggested to me.I am so glad I made the change. If you are looking to try something different please consider Club Pilates. You will not regret it
Megan Sheldon: Club Pilates Knapp location has pushed me to want to workout. The instruction and encouragement that I have received in the 3 weeks I have been there motivates me to to get strong and I feel my body getting healthier with each class. I couldn't be happier with making this a choice to rebuild me again.
Sue Rosema: Pilates gave me strength and flexibility after having knee replacement surgery. It’s fun, but I work hard as well. The instructors and staff create a very friendly and non-threatening environment. I recommend it highly! Thank you Club Pilates!❤️
Jennifer Storre: Club Pilates Has literally saved my life in every aspect.Mentally it has revived my soul in an unexplainable way.Spiritually it has connected my mind and body to soul.Physically it has healed my body and made me stronger and more agile than ever before.Pilates’s IS All there is!Side note The Staff and Instructors are beyond Amazing!!! Each and Every One!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Heather Ross, LMT: Great studio! Have enjoyed all the instructors and especially friendly and helpful front staff.
Emily Gross: The first couple of levels are very slow paced, so can be hard to stay engaged. Not sure about the other formats. Building is also a bit run down with water damage on the ceiling, etc. Was given some apparently inaccurate info about their cancellation policy and they said it was probably a former employee because “there has been some turnover” but still charged me? Not worth the high price to me.Edit: Owner did contact me to correct the mistake after some back and forth with the front desk, so that was appreciated.

Constant Movement: what do users think?
Jane Plaisted: I credit this studio with my good health. I have never been able to stick to an exercise program for long until I found Barb — now I can say I have been doing Pilates here for over ten years! More importantly, I still like it. The only competition is with yourself and there’s a positive vibe throughout. I would encourage any one — any age, any size, any level of fitness — to try this Pilates studio.
Nicole Clairmont: I found Barb at Constant Movement thru her website and search for Pilates near me. I am so thankful that I found her studio as it is the perfect fit for me. She provides both individualized and small group classes which feel very personalized for my level and goals. Being someone who had never done Pilates before I appreciated her attention and focus on my individual needs and because of the smaller class size she is able to tailor the sessions to each person’s individual level and abilities which is much appreciated. She is also very attentive to those who may have previous injuries or limitations and makes necessary accommodations. I recommend Constant Movement to anyone at any level..

Alexandra Bohlinger Pilates & Osteotherapy: what do users think?
Ingrid Aguayo: Alexandra has been wonderful in every session I’ve attended. I started attending her individual sessions because I wanted to work on my core area. My clinical menopause of 8 years finally hit me at 50, and it was getting harder to lose lower belly fat. I knew she was listening intently as I described other chronic ailments, and started on those instead of focusing on my belly. The first session she worked on my chronic neck pain, that I had learned to live with, by working deeply on my arm up to my neck explaining what my body had done in years of protecting that area, and how we were going to concentrate in strengthening to hopefully not have any pain. I knew strengthening needed to happen, sooner rather than later, and I had been to PT many times for neck:arm issues, but the pain always came back. However, the biggest difference this time was that Alexandra worked on breaking the years of accumulation of scar tissue to then concentrate in re-teaching those muscles to work properly without the need of protection from pain. The feeling afterwards was amazing!A week later I broke my finger, so she helped me through that healing process as I was going through PT, since PT only concentrated on my broken finger. After all that, we finally started working on my overall strength and it has been a great experience. All the knowledge she shares while she is making you work is the guidance I was looking for in a personalized class setting. I recommend Alexandra 150%!
Elaine Rongey: Excellent personalized instruction at her home studio, helping me to become more flexible and stronger and feel younger. I'm grateful for her care.
Brianna Noorman: As a Pilates instructor and massage therapist, I’m always looking to grow in my understanding of the body. In just two sessions Alexandra has personally helped me change the way I see movement by improving the journey of back pain I have been on for a year. I’m back to some of the activities I have been missing, and I’m excited to keep learning with her!
Alina G.: After 8+ years of searching for answers, being to 3 osteopaths and 4+ doctors (and almost lost hope of feeling better) I have found Alexandra and finally found answers to the issues with my health.Alexandra has a very scientific and holistic approach. She explained how everything in body is connected, why this happened and I felt better from the first session. Moreover, she showed how to avoid it in the future and to be a friend to your own body. What we worked with and healed:SIJ dysfunction, Snapping Hip Syndrome and TMJ alignment dysfunction and shoulder rotator cuff muscles tendinopathy.I was with my clicking jaw to dentist and physiotherapist. With my joints at the bottom of the spine and clicking hips I went to orthopedist. Then a few osteopaths. More than 8 years of searching, tries and errors, and hearing: seems like there’s nothing you can do about it / you need surgery / etc. … I wanted to find the core of the problem, but me and doctors only saw the consequences: migraines, numbness in fingers, meniscus damage, back pain.. the list goes on!And then I met Alexandra. Who found the roots of all of this. And showed the perfect combination of osteo treatment and classical pilates. I feel so good and strong now. Boy, I wish all people knew how awesome their bodies are if you just help to let go the “wrong way” and teach it the “right way” that you can implement right here, right now and be healthy.
Judith Glessing: I've been training with Alex since January 2021, firstly doing matwork and now also reformer work. Her enthusiasm, enjoyment and great knowledge of teaching the classical repertoire always make her sessions challenging and fun. She's inventive with her classes finding different ways of performing the routine and getting the most out of her clients with each session. She's skilled at adapting exercises to take account of any body limitations or injuries and has x-ray vision for corrections - even over Zoom! I have benefitted greatly from attending Alex's classes, she has given me a much deeper understanding of the method both mentally and within my own body, and has inspired me to be a better teacher, which is great not only for me but also for my clients. I highly recommend her.
Lisa Staples: I am a Level V Romana's Pilates International instructor trained and teaching in Champaign, Illinois. I watched Alexandra's workshop on Hypermobility in an effort to learn more about working with several clients with hEDS. After that workshop, I felt like her unique combination of Pilates and Osteopathy could help improve my teaching - especially for my clients with a genetic Hypermobility disorder. In the time I've been working with Alexandra, I've gained so much knowledge and insight about working with this population, as well as other body types. Most of my lessons with her are for my body, but many times she will help offer suggestions on teaching the body in front of me, or even with specific questions I have about specific clients. She makes sure I FEEL connections in my body so I can convey that to my clients effectively. She also gives me great ways to modify or break down the work. My clients are noticing the difference, and getting more from their lessons with me. As much as any training program tries to cover all the important points, working with real people off the street is a whole different ballgame.Alexandra has helped me continue my education by combining her Pilates training with that of her Osteopathy. Her knowledge of the human body has been so important as I continue my journey into the realm of Pilates. She fills in the gaps of anatomy and understanding body systems that was not covered in my training - and has even helped me rehab my own body after 2 slipped discs and a third torn disc.I cannot stress enough how important it is to take your training to the next level after finishing any certification program - that's when the REAL learning with REAL people with REAL body concerns begins. And in addition to becoming a more effective teacher - staying on a regular lesson schedule each week will help ensure that you continue to take care of your body after your certification.I look forward to my weekly sessions with Alexandra. Regardless of the style of Pilates you may practice or teach - Alexandra can help you take things up a level!
Brittanie Bonham: I have been working with Alexandra for six months. The impact she has had on my overall health and wellness has been extraordinary. Since receiving a spinal fusion two years ago, I had been suffering from constant muscle spasms in my legs and severe neck and shoulder pain. My symptoms were often overwhelming and caused me major discomfort and anxiety. After multiple nerve tests and doctor appointments, I was told everything looked normal. I was prescribed multiple medications, including muscle relaxers and antidepressants. The medications only seemed to mask my symptoms and never addressed the actual problems. Alexandra was recommended to when I was at a dead end and extremely hopeless. Since working with Alexandra, my muscle spasms are very mild and on most days non existent. The pain and stiffness in my neck and body have diminished. Through a combination of osteopathic work and Pilates exercises, I feel like I am finally in control of my body and mind again. I am off all of my prescription medicine, and my anxiety has disappeared. I feel stronger and more in tune with my body than I ever have. Alexandra has been so supportive every step of the way. I look forward to our one on one sessions every week and I am eternally grateful for the help and hope she has given me.
Elease Savage: Words cannot express how grateful I am for Alexandra. She’s so knowledgeable about the body and how it functions. After only 1 session, my constant back pain that hindered my movement and caused sleeplessness nights, is gone! I can pick up whatever I dropped from the floor, I can go from sitting to standing and immediately start walking. I had not been able to do that for quite some time! I am in absolute amazement of what was accomplished in the first session. Prior to meeting Alexandra, I was headed towards pain pills, injections and getting weaker. With Alexandra Bohlinger Pilates, I’m on this journey to enjoy incredible living..and I look forward! I am so grateful and thankful. Alexandra is the best!
Meghan Schrotenboer: After only 3 sessions, I found myself standing at the kitchen counter and telling my husband, “I can’t believe how much stronger I feel.” I am so grateful to have found Alexandra for Pilates after years of trying everything to regain my strength post-babies. Alexandra helped me recognize why the attempts at exercising just didn’t seem to work for me, and why I probably have always had a harder time than most building muscle. I now have the confidence that I am on the right path, and the investment in 1:1 Pilates with Alexandra is already changing my life. I can’t wait to continue with her program for many more sessions.
Andrea Rongey Dudley: Personalized instruction to help you be your best in your body. Highly recommend.
Kate Heindel: Amazing! So relieved to have finally found someone that has the knowledge, passion, and dedication to not only actually find the source of my pain, but also the capability to help me heal.I felt relief after the first session and have felt continued progress each visit. So very grateful to be under Alexandra’a care.
Dana Nystrom: I cannot express strongly enough how Ali has help me with continuing my rehab from a horrific MVA. She is so knowledgeable about how your body functions properly and how it can be realign for maximum efficiency. I had major injuries that we are current working on and gaining improvement in my daily endurance. I cannot like I said previously imagine what and where I’d be without her expertise in the rehab helping me.
Amy Rohn: Alexandra is incredibly knowledgable about human anatomy. She is kind and compassionate and provides an environment which feels safe and comfortable. My son (11) had a muscular injury in his back. After Alexandra worked with him he was no longe in pain and was able to go back to his activities. We are so thankful for Alexandra's care.
Kyle Visser: Alexandra is first and foremost a wonderful person with an amazing depth of knowledge of the body. I am a former professional basketball player with on and off back pain since retiring in 2015 and Alexandra has helped me immensely over the past 6 weeks to stabilize/strengthen my core which has led me to some of the best weeks I’ve had in years in regards to pain/discomfort. So glad we have her in West Michigan!
Julia Visser: Alexandra is a wealth of knowledge and experience!! As an athlete, it has been both humbling and empowering to learn new methods to build a robust core and improve my Achilles pain. I love her positive approach and attention to detail on every movement; also that each session builds on the last. I highly recommend her!!
Katherine Love Miller: I feel eternally grateful that I connected with Alexandra a few months ago. Her attention to detail is unmatched and her knowledge of the body is extraordinary. Prior to meeting her, I did not have a good understanding of the way my body worked and moved. Within minutes of my first session, Alexandra explained to me that I was hypermobile. This made so much sense because of the joint pain I had been feeling for years. She has worked tirelessly with me to help me feel my body and really connect with it. I look forward to each session with her and wish I could work with her every day. In just a few short months, she has helped me immensely with my posture and my ability to actually feel my muscles within my body. She is truly the best!
Rick and Gail Kamminga: So very happy to be continuing Pilates with Alexandra since getting back to MI in May. Have been taking lessons in AL since Feb. It has been helping greatly with sciatic problems and my confidence in movement and strength for everyday living has really improved! Alexandra is fun to work with, very knowledgeable and her Pilates studio is a delight to be in.
Jessica Bordo: I feel so lucky to have met Alexandra. I have MS and deal with foot drop and leg weakness in one of my legs. Her understanding of the whole body and what it takes to create strength, tone, and flexibility is everything I could hope for in a pilates instructor and osteopath. Looking forward to my continued improvement with her help and guidance!
Angela Visner: At 43 years old I was informed I’d be living with nerve pain for the remainder of my life; that is until I met Alexandra. Initially I was excited to learn Pilates from someone that was so thoroughly trained in the original method but upon meeting Alexandra our priorities quickly changed. I shared with her my back and nerve pain issues and she worked with me to eliminate, yes you heard that correctly, nearly eliminate my nerve pain in a matter of weeks. Now, 6 weeks into my twice weekly sessions, she is teaching me how to engage muscles I never used to properly care for my body. We have advanced to using the Pilates apparatuses which is challenging and exciting at the same time. I am forever thankful for meeting her and plan on working with her as long as I am fortunate to do so. I truly believe Alexandra would benefit everyone and anyone that is humble enough to learn and be educated by her.
Alexa O'Toole: By the end of my first session with Alexandra, it was clear that she would be a special gift to this new community. Her focus, attention to detail and commitment to the traditional Pilates craft is exquisite. I look forward to continuing to learn with her.
Stephanie Eder: I am a Pilates trainer myself and a student of Alexandra's. I have learned so much from her in such a short time. She is a wealth of knowledge about the Pilates system. She is very encouraging but will push just enough. Her cuing is very targeted so that u can move your body to the best of your abilities and the way she would like to see it moving. She has worked with a wide variety of injuries and illnesses over the years. You would foolish not to take advantage of her depth of knowledge to continue or start your Pilates journey. I would highly recommend Alexandra for any level of Pilates trainer and any person that is currently doing Pilates or is interested. Grand Rapids is so lucky to have such a gem in there town. If I lived closer I would definitely be seeing her in person at least 2x/week.

BodyMind Pilates: what do users think?
Genevieve Ingram: BodyMind Pilates is beyond fantastic. They offer highly personalized training and the work they do is like nowhere else. Although BodyMind classes are not a medical service, I strongly believe that the work they do is, in many cases, more effective than physical therapy for many people. I take privates with Hannah and Carolina and both are so knowledgeable and kind. After failing to progress in PT for years and never being able to participate in exercise due to pain, the work I am doing with BodyMind has helped me to learn about body mechanics and neurological connections to muscles and I am finally able to make progress, especially in core work. Whether you are already fit and looking for a challenge, coming back from injury or trauma, or simply looking for the best possible exercises tailored exactly to you, BodyMind is absolutely one of a kind - I am grateful for their work, their unique, personalized approach, and their peaceful, friendly, and positive studio.
Kathryn McAllister: Carolina and Hannah are both wonderful teachers. They help you see and feel the good and bad habits of your body and teach exercises that strengthen the deepest parts of the muscles. Classes focus on strength, balance, stability, motion, and working the senses for overall health. Each session I feel stronger and am able to engage the correct muscles quicker.100% recommend this studio.
PDot Pushkin: Progressive, mindful studio. Try the Discovery program and get your body back on track with their unique rehabilitative approach to fitness and wellness!
Seamas Accounts: I had two shoulder surgeries which made me reluctant to go back to the gym. Carolina and Hannah have worked with me building incremental strength and flexibility so I feel ready to go back to more strenuous workouts without the risk of injury. They have made a big difference in my outlook on exercise. Give them a try! Very easy going Studio with a great atmosphere!
Christine Rajah: I always learn something new about my body each and every class! Knowledge empowers me to be the best with what I have!
Amy Wilson: BodyMind Pilates is excellent. I am so grateful for the knowledgeable Pilates instructors who truly care about my body and my mind and give me personal attention, even in group class settings. I highly recommend BodyMind Pilates to anyone looking to be healthy, strong and centered.
Michelle Bottrall: I love my time with Barb. She keeps me moving, reduces my pain and provides a very positive experience.
Jenna Geier: Carolina is AMAZING! She knows each clients body and how to make sure you use it properly. You have to be patient with the results, but if you are consistent your aches and pains will eventually go away. She is as good as it gets for Pilates!
Audrey Valentine: I have the body awareness of a drunken walrus. I feel that doing pilates has greatly improved it, however. The staff has always been welcoming and encouraging.
