Tilly McCracken: Love this place. I called in a complete snow storm, and they were here within 24 hours, to bring us propane.
Nathan Wagner: One of the drivers was driving incredibly recklessly behind me. We stopped at a red and he laid on the horn for no apparent reason. When we started going again the driver stared me down while driving at least 10mph over the speed limit on a busy road. I have no idea what his issue was, but road rage and harassment in a marked company car is a terrible look, even if an isolated incident.

Customer service is non existent and they will not help when needed they just tell you to order sooner next time.Edit: I can't reply to his comment so I'll add my answer here. We were not looking for a fill the same day we purchased it. We ordered the delivery the week prior and ran out on Sunday. Running out was my fault (I never said otherwise) but I called 8:00 am Monday morning to get the order upgraded to an emergency fill (I was wiling to pay the fee) the guy I talked to said dispatch would call. They did call 8 hours later and told me I would get a delivery the next day. This company has no respect for their customers.
Adrianne Neff: We get fuel oil deliveries from Crystal Flash. Not much to say about price--it goes and up and down, closely following the market. The phone reps are always professional and friendly. And the drivers are great. They have to navigate our long, winding, and difficult driveway and then they have to drag their hoses around the house through snow in the winter and weeds in the summer, and they always do it promptly and without complaint. Thank you!

Chris Kaminsky (CriscoDesigns): First time checking this place out tonight. I didn't know what to expect. I mean... an old bank converted to sell propane? But it was a great experience. I believe it was the owner that helped me out. He dropped some propane facts on me Hank Hill style. Great establishment.

I had a tank inspected and the man working reviewed everything with me and gave me peace of mind that the tank was good to go! I will absolutely return!

Jason Emery: Crystal pro ided me with amazing service. Due to a customer not returning the key for the pickup truck, I was not able to get my original scheduled time. She upgraded me to the next size up all while communicating this fully. Her customer service and care was top notch.
tony poynter: They installed a hitch on my SUV. I called and they installed it the next day. No issues.
Alfonso Calderon: O stars. A lady that works there has no idea what she is doing. Very bad service and only a couple people know how to do their job, so you have to call in advance to see if they are working but good luck with them answering the phone. Place is a joke.
Tim Sproat: I've been renting a truck every week for the past 3 months. My experience dealing with the different U-Haul sites around Grand Rapids I found the one on Plainfield to provide the best service with the friendliest people. That is until this last time I rented. I have never had to deal with Crystal (the owner). I have seen her working every time before this and she has always had a bad attitude. I did not realize until this last time that she was the owner. I always assumed she was just an employee who obviously hates her job. Apparently there was an issue with a rental prior to my reservation. The previous customer picked up their truck later than their reservation was for but still used it for the full 24hrs from the time they picked the truck up but was not charged for the extra time. Crystal asked if I would be able to bring my rental back by 830, 2 hours before it was due based on my reservation. I told her I would not be able to make 830. She then said she would have to put me in the next size up. A bigger truck is going to cost me more in gas. So I asked about the $50 reservation guarantee and Crystals attitude changed. She was clearly very upset with her employees, slamming thing around on the counter and reprimanding the employee, I assume was responsible for the issue, right in front of me. It was at this time I looked at her name tag and saw the title "owner" below her name. I too am a business owner and I realize employees make mistakes from time to time and need to be made aware of their mistakes in order to prevent it from happening again. However employees are people too and deserve to be treated as such. What I witnessed was extremely unprofessional and because of that I will be taking my business to another location. Just as my production has increased and I will be requiring a truck twice a week instead of the once a week I have been using.
Anthony Himebaugh: Had a hitch installed on my vehicle a few months ago. I am very disappointed at the work performed. My rear bumper diffuser was bent and rolled to make the hitch fit. The Tech tried to tell me that my car had been in a previous accident and that is why it looked the way it does. 2 days after the install, service engine light comes on. After scanning the code, discovered that the Tech busted the evap canister pressure sensor off, and managed to crack the canister housing that is Conveniently located next to the passenger side hitch install location. Not a cheap fix... Also found the +12v wire (for the trailer plug) ran under the car to my battery, was melted to my exhaust that it was wrapped around several times. Good thing his wiring kit had a fuse in it to prevent further damage to my vehicle. If you need a hitch installed, please save yourself the headache and money... Go elsewhere

Kolinn Morgan: Had a hitch and trailer light wire harness installed. 80% plastic inserts that hold the removable panels were busted out and now all they do is rattle going down the road. Also, the tech who installed the harness cut through plastic instead of running the harness out of place it is designed for. Two stars for the nice service desk person.
Jeffrey DeSonier: Heard an older mechanic chewing out a Fed ex driver. Over having an overhead door open to bring in packages. I will not be giving this location any of my business if this is the way they treat people.
Julie Mulder: I made an online appointment to get a trailer hitch put on my vehicle. The team working that day was efficient and friendly. They showed me an area to wait for my vehicle and let me know they would update me when it was done, estimated to be done in about an hour. Less than a 1/2 hour later I had the warranty in my hand and was out the door!
Dan H: Call me corporate Uhaul: reservation 27156367, you have my number. I ordered a hitch and arrived on the scheduled date of install at this location. No hitch they told me, and I'd have to come back and they'd call me when it came in. Height of Covid, no waiting allowed, far from my home, and I already drove there with two vehicles one time at an appointment they set, so I didn't reschedule right away when they called a week later. Now they report they installed the hitch three months after that. (I was waiting until winter was done by that point) Hmmm whose vehicle was that on? It certainly wasn't mine. The receipt they sent me "proving they installed it" has amounts changed from my online paid-in-full invoice, adding a $0.76 cash payment on the "day of install". Shady stuff. There is a place for a customer signature too = blank. I’ll stay away from this location, and maybe Uhaul in general. Buyer beware, a lot. Crystal the manager is the person I dealt with. Edit 9/27/21, a month later: After posting this review, some chats with UHaul corporate, and 3 more calls to this location in the last month, they finally refunded me - turns out they have a $50 guarantee on honoring their appointments too - they of course didn't bring that up initially. In the end, they made it right, but I'll not be dealing with UHaul in the future. Newcomer Plow and Hitch in Holland did a fantastic job getting my hitch needs taken care of.

Brad Hekman: Made a hitch installation appointment weeks in advance. Appointment was cancelled day-of because they didn't have the parts. In the days that follow, after hours navigating call trees and nationwide customer support, it's revealed that the parts won't be coming anytime soon. But they're happy to help me last minute reschedule my 2500 mile move..... -_-It's a really bad experience to book installations when the parts are clearly on long-term backorder. I feel lied to and utterly screwed over. Guess I'll just demand my refund and badmouth U-Haul forevermore. :'(
Larenz C: This goes for all uhauls. I’ve had terrible customer service every time I call. The last time I went into the store was helped by someone who was more interested in his food than helping me. I will never do business with uhaul again and will let everyone I know to never do business with them as well.
Scott Baker: While visiting GRR from out of town, we were rear-ended which destroyed our UHaul hitch. We needed another hitch to be able to tow a trailer of furniture back home, and while this location didn't have the part in stock, Brandon spent time and effort tracking one down at a UHaul in Holland so we could pick it up there. Very helpful!

Max: Very slow at times. Be prepared to wait a while. I'm not going back there again for propane! I waste more time waiting then I would driving to a better place.

Angela Kovich: Currently at 3% in my tank. I have called 2 days in a row and they say we can’t get a rushed delivery. They know we are going to run out of gas and have no concern. I have to wait the full 14 day window and hope they will be here sooner than later. It’s the middle of winter and my family will soon be in the cold. Poor customer service.

Glenn Watson: Start up service in 2018 went well. Refills, not so much. This year we have run out twice in the winter although we have called close to thier recommended percentages. The first time we had to do an emergency fill, this time (we have been out for 5 day) and they say they aren't doing emergency fills anymore, there is a 10-14 day fill window, we should have called sooner. Well, initially they said call at 20% we did... we ran out. Then they said you should call at 30% and now they are saying call at 35%. I've called all along the way to running out to let them know where we are. When we ran out, customer service said to use space heaters. Day 10 from the call to fill and still no gas. We only live 8 minutes from their office.
Rebecca Boarts: So when we first started in the fall of 2018 they were great. All downhill this year 2020-2021. First they overcharged us because they had the wrong tank size recorded (this was corrected after a couple phone calls) . Lastest problem called to order propane n 1/27/21 and no one showed up, called back to check on 2/3/21 and our payment was charged that day (advised them at the time that if was low around 15% or less since no response from the 1/27 call). Well this morning 2/8/21 the tank is empty and after 4 phone calls we are being told sorry you will have to go without heat until ????
HONEST ABE: Guys who come out and fill the tank are great, always friendly whenever we’ve chatted. Quick response time, easy to pay bill and place an order online, competitive prices. Lost 2 stars because we recently moved into a new house, tank was 20% full, called Ferrell to set up a new account, was told $0.99 per gallon on the first fill and then locked into a slightly higher rate after that for a year right? Except when they came out to fill the first time for $0.99 they only filled to 60%?!? That’s messed up, that’s the kinda bs big companies do to take advantage of customers with absolutely no remorse. They don’t even respond to reviews so they obviously have enough money not to care, must be nice.
James Roush: Going to find another company that wants my business. I sent a check with the price lock agreement from fall to spring 2017 and then got hit with a big bill when I called for a fill. Had to call to get it fixed, which was ok, but didn’t even receive the price lock option in 2018. Stuck with another overpriced bill.
Lorraine Wheeler: Needed gas unexpectedly. The super cold weather sucked it up much faster than we expected. It was the weekend and they showed up with the gas. Relieved us of a lot of stress and worry. They rock!

I have been with Suburban for many years and never had a problem knowing when the truck is going to be here. When it was 10:30, I called to inquire when the truck was going to be here since Lindsey told me the driver would call an hour and a half before he came. When I talked to Lindsey the 2nd time today at 10:30, Lindsey informed me that the driver totally turned his route around and would not be here till late today. Apparently Linsey did not care to call and inform me of that 2 hours ago. Horrible customer service

Michael Smith: I must unfortunately share that I am extremely frustrated with how I was handled as a customer of Suburban Propane. I have been a customer that paid on time for almost 3 years and thought we had a good relationship however your motto of "Our business is customer satisfaction" in my viewpoint is just words with no accountability backing this up.I bought my cottage and the previous owner was using Suburban however mentioned he had some past "issues" but he suggested I stay and give you a try. Things seem to work well initially however in this period of time I was given price increases of over 115% which based upon the current gas market seemed totally out of line. I received my bill at the beginning of 2019 and made a call concerning the highly escalated price and was told this is a good solid market price--which I paid. In April I received another bill for a fill up I did not request or need at this escalated price. I called and was again told this is the market price. This lack of willingness to review market pricing caused me to check the current pricing of other competitors and found standard pricing to be over 30% lower. Followed up with at least 10+ calls to Suburban to try and work out a situation where we could maintain them as a supplier while getting a competitive price. After all these calls to Jessica, Nicole ,Sue, John etc. with no support to get competitive pricing I had to make the call to shift suppliers and did so with the understanding during my last phone call I would expect the following: a) I get the gas refunded to me at the same price i paid for it when tank was picked up b) there would be no restocking fee for tank since i tried numerous times to retain Suburban c) No close out fee. Instead what i got on my last statement was 1. $100 close out fee 2. $355 restocking fee---both of which I find totally unacceptable.My final conversation was with supervisor Angie L on 7/8/19 and she shared she could assist and give $99 back which I appreciate however doesn't get the situation back to where it should be.Based upon this note (I can provide all the details on all the calls who & when) we will better see if the Suburban motto of "Our business is customer satisfaction" really means something or it is hot air and we must continue to share with others not to use Suburban.

Mike Boarts: helped us out of a big problem when we ran out after our previous supplier failed to show up after waiting 3 weeks for propane. Crystal Flash found time despite being booked out 2 weeks to bring us a tank and propane in less than 24 hrs. it was during sub zero temps, kept our house from freezing and our family safe. very fast delivery this week too, less than 48 hrs after i placed the order online, and it was a holiday
Karen Haskins: I have been with Crystal flash for over 30 years. I couple of weeks ago I received a letter from them that stated I had 3 options. Pay a 99.00 service fee- fill my tank or call to have it removed. I was shocked to think that they would remove a tank from a long time customer because I did not use enough propane. The warm weather probably contributed to the low usage. It makes no sense to me to remove a tank and set it in storage when it is still in use. I will not pay the service fee and more than likely it will be removed at some point. It is amazing that CF would loose a long time customer over a 99.00 service fee.
Jeff Blanch: We are building a new house. Due to rain the Lowell Michigan Crystal Flash couldn't set my propane tank where I needed it to go. I found out that they were coming to do my final grading and I needed to get my propane tank put in its final spot before they started to smooth my yard out. I called Crystal Flash in Lowell Michigan and they made it a priority to get out there 3 hours later and get it moved all while having a busy schedule. Larry Pieniazek: Employee owned and operated, and it shows. During the time of the virus, they worked hard to satisfy a random customer that needed his BBQ propane tanks recertified and refilled. Way more than proper social distance was kept, everything was arranged and paid over the phone.The multiple people I worked with were friendly, helpful and efficient. I wasn't a regular customer, either, they didn't have to accommodate me, but they did after several other places turned me down. I was impressed. We will be starting propane service soon, and I know who I will be using. Thank you!
Alan Jurgens: Just used Crysal Flash for first time for propane on a construction site this week. They brought the fuel and heater. Had lots if problems with the heaters, it actually took them until Saturday to actually get me up and going with heat. As frustrating as that was, I will say Phil made multiple trips on site to remedy the problem. He was even on my job site at 9pm on a Friday nite, as well as back on Saturday morning to make sure heat was working. He also didn't charge me for the rent of the heater for the issues.
