Chelsea Kirby: This is the preferred Field’s Fabrics location. Customer service is great, they have an excellent selection and often times have things in the outlet building at great prices, that are still retail price at other Field’s locations. We went to three of the ones in the area when my mom was in town today, we picked up a beautiful fabric from the outlet building for $2.37/yard. At the Jenison location we saw the same fabric for $4.97/yard. Check out the outlet building first! Well worth it!

Charles Tisron: Needed a 2x2 foot 4 inch thick foam rubber piece for my aging dogs bed. The woman that helped me was quick efficient really nice. I was shocked at how much foam rubber costs. But she told me right away that it was a lot more expensive than people realized. But my dog deserves a comfortable bed and the stuffing that was in the Kong brand bed got all mashed to the side. Dexter my 100 lb. yellow lab is happy, so I'm happy

Sherry Rainer: I've shopped at Fields for 25 years and today may have been my last visit. When I entered the store at 5:15 I was immediately told by the two customer service women who were just standing around (obviously waiting to leave) that I only had 15 minutes to get what I needed. Now, it's not like it's a restaurant where I was showing up expecting to have a 2 hour sit down meal. They made it obvious that their main goal was to get out of there at 5:30,(Which one of them even said to me).They did help me and worked together to get me what I needed and I left at 5:28, but the atmosphere was uncomfortable and very off-putting from a customer's perspective. I felt like I was just an intrusion that was getting in their way. I've worked retail for many years and would never treat someone like that, even if it meant I would stay after work a few minutes to help them. If you're open until 5:30, that means a customer can walk in at 5:29 and expect to be helped. Please teach your staff to be nicer to people when they come in. If I'm unreasonable, let me know and I will respond accordingly.

Lauren DePree Andersh: This is one of my usual Field's locations, mostly because it's convenient for me. It is a good store! There is SO much fabric, so much to choose from. Usually it's great, sometimes a bit overwhelming. You definitely have to dig a bit more for what you're looking for, but they really have a lot of beautiful stuff!This location does seem to be busy most times I stop in. Somedays that means a little less help or waiting a bit to check out, but that being said, I've never not had good customer service!

Kristen Videan: Extremely disappointed with the customer service my dad received when shopping today. He was looking for fleece, specifically in a crimson color. He asked two workers that were in the area for help finding the correct color, which he was looking for for my mom. They were so rude. One pointed both fingers to her eyes and said, "you have to use your eyes and your brain (pointed to her head) to figure out which is the right color for you." Needless to say, my dad did not purchase anything from here after being treated like that, after driving an hour to get there. People like that should not be working in the public. So rude and disgusting.

Barbara Kaaikala: I like to support independently owned businesses. Even though I live an hour away and have little time to sew, I try to shop at Fields when I do need something. Today I made a pillow bed for my granddaughter using the "envelope method" with 60" wide fabric from Fields. The pictures didn't turn out well, but the pillow bed is very cute! I used instructions from the blog It's Always Autumn and from Olga Ling on YouTube.

Sarah Holmes: We left the location in Holland to come here because they were so rude. I'm so glad we did! The selection and customer service is unbeatable! They were not annoyed with my little dude who is very vocal and playful and even played cars with him while cutting fabric. They helped me figure out the math for what I needed with kindness and patience. This type of atmosphere should be the norm but it's rare to find 5 star customer service and selection. Go to fields on Plainfield!

They have decorator fabrics, 100 % cottons, bolts and bolts of fleece, apparel fabric, flannel, trims, and notions galore. The staff is knowledgeable and very helpful. In my opinion, their quality and selection is superior to the large fabric and craft store.

Julie Lewis: I love this store. There are several open bees that every one is welcome to come and play for the day or to come regularly. We have a lot of fun, order in lunch, and have quality sewing time.I appreciate that there are knowledgeable sewists there that can help me (I’m still learning) with just about any sewing technique. They have accomplished paper piecers, quilters, free motion sewists, and many more interesting techniques represented there. They offer a wide range of classes for beginning to accomplished sewers/quilters. And if you would like a class for something you don’t see on the calendar, they are willing to accommodate by adding another class.I see in a review below that there was confusion about hours. They do have different hours on different days, so I always take a quick peek online if there is any question about hours.I know they are always willing to cut more....kits, fat quarters, etc, so if they are low or out of something, just ask and they will cut more. The help has always been kind and polite with me.This is a retail store I will definitely visit again because I love their excellent quality fabrics (Moda) and their willingness to help with fabric selection. (I’m challenged here, and am always happy with what I go home with).They also have a nice selection of wools, flannels, and civil war fabrics as well as 30’s and batiks. (Shibota!).Give Attic Window a whirl, I think you’ll love it too!

Sandi Dykstra (Sandi D): The store has beautiful fabrics but I personally feel customer skills can be worked on. After calling a week ago to ask what their hours were for todays particular date, I was told 10 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A large group of us gals were traveling all over the Midwest Michigan from store to store collecting the summer Row by Rows. We arrived at the store about 6:45 p.m., sign in window "closed". Door unlocked, I called out "hello". Sales clerk replied. I asked if really closed, explained I called a week ago verifying hours. She said they are closed and then said I guess you can come in. But, if we wanted the RxR kits they only had two left and didn't have any cut yet. We were puzzled why would a store put their hours on the internet, on a window sign, and tell you personally on the phone confirming store hours. Then having 3 personnel on premise, the closed sign hanging in a window and the neon light turned off. What message is this owner trying to convey to customers? We sure didn't feel welcomed. We spent money there. We believe in supporting small quilt stores. We were very disappointed in not being welcomed. Becareful quilters when traveling afar. Call ahead to this store, the day of, if you are planning on stopping at it.
