Local Legend Recording: what do users think?
Theo Ndawillie II: As a musician who's lived and worked in some of the most competitive spaces in the world, from New York city to Los Angeles, I can say it is rare to find a recording space of this caliber. Local Legend Recording is custom built, maintained and run by Josh K., one of the most knowledgeable professional, personable, easy-to-work-with guys and one of the most skilled audio engineers / producers I've known throughout my life-long music career. Truly state-of-the-art equipment, setup/design, an incredibly inviting, comfortable space, and a truly inspiring space that fosters creativity, collaboration, and community on a level that's hard to match anywhere in the world.
Cameron Warne: Best recording studio in the area - beautiful live room with high ceilings, grand piano and incredible mic options. Josh is a masterful producer with quick turnarounds. Couldn't be more pleased with what we've created here!
Gabrielle Stoner: Josh is an absolute pleasure to work with and the space is ideal and comparable to any studio I've recorded in in LA or Nashville. Josh knows his stuff, has the right gear and has an impeccable ear...and has a created a warm environment for musical creatives to thrive. Cannot recommend LLR enough!
Peter Fox: Best studio in the world!
Alex King: Took forever to get songs mixed down ...bad commutation. recorded here twice over a month ago and still haven't received final mixes
Andrew Szumowski: This studio building with its famous huge room was redeveloped from a 100 year old warehouse and offices, newly constructed in 2020 and opened this year. Josh Kaufman (Brian Setzer), one of the most talented mastering producers in the midwest United States, has plotted his new HQ about 2 miles from downtown Grand Rapids, MI and my first few experiences there have been world class. His huge room is ideal for recording acoustic music, vocals, piano, guitar, horns, harp, choir, orchestra, chamber music, jazz, folk, etc. Vocals get an extra lift from the dynamics of this pristine space.Luxurious, human, sonically high end, and comfortable while being ultra modern.
Tolen Music (Tolen): I get all my mastering done here and they bring my mixes to a whole new level! Amazing experience!
Niko: Did the demo, they no longer exist
Matthew McCloskey: Amazing work. I needed a mixing engineer to bring my new song to life and Peter Fox delivered. Superb instrument clarity, great balance. Peter's a pleasure to work with - he's friendly, professional and timely. Huge recommendation from me. A+
Anthony Giraldi: These guys are the real deal! They have an amazing selection of new and vintage gear, a beautiful space, and are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. BOOK HERE!

Mackinaw Harvest Music: what do users think?
Tanner Hamilton: sounds like a place where you’d buy fancy cheese
hugh dewitt: Awesome studio!
Brian Morrill: Great place to record 👍, Top engineers with calm ambience...
Travis McRae: The studio itself is a fantastic environment, a wonderful expression of Michael's vision. It fuses professionalism and state of the art equipment with a personal touch to that of a luxurious open cabin. This makes it feel both business and a comfortable place to be.Lane "the Magic Man," DenBoer was very hands on in his approach to sound, tone and execution. He made sure you got the sound and take you wanted. Coupled with his opinion on performance and his ability to blend, punch and cut, it was certainly something to behold and work with.Michael Crittenden had amazing input and really sought to know our songs and what made them tic. He worked to find exactly what we were looking for, even if we didn't even know it. His skills as a producer, listener and person were stellar.Highly recommend this place to anybody seeking to go into the studio and record, well worth your time and money.
Sam Nuerminger: Nashville level music production right hear in Grand Rapids! Have had nothing but amazing experiences, awesome service and gotten top notch products back from Michael and his team. 10/10 , if you're a musician looking to get to the next level, come to Mackinaw Harvest.
Tony Carmody: Awesome sound quality
Gretchen DeVault: I HIGHLY recommend Mackinaw Harvest Music. We recorded our last EP there and it is one of our best recordings (if not THE best) to date. Michael Crittenden really gets it. We've worked with many producers and he not only understood our sound, but he was SO enjoyable to work with. The studio itself is a little slice of heaven. Though you're pretty close to downtown Grand Rapids, it feels like you're on vacation at a quiet cabin. Everything about our experience from planning to recording to editing to the final product was amazing. Mackinaw Harvest is the real deal.
Bonnie Couchie: Excellent studio and Producer!Mackinaw Harvest Music Owner and Producer Michael Crittenden sought to understand what was important to me in my music project and accommodated me in every way. He went the distance. Literally. He loaded up his quality mobile recording studio and travelled 9 hrs to my little town in Northwestern Ontario so that I could record within the comfort of my home, in a setting that inspires me. He has fantastic vision and is an extremely talented multi-instrumentalist. He easily and innovatively helped me overcome my challenges and created a secure and relaxing atmosphere for me to record my songs. I highly recommend Michael Crittenden and his Mackinaw Harvest Music studio for your next CD project.
Aubrey Clark: I had so much fun recording at Mackinaw Harvest with Michael Crittenden! I did two songs, and he helped me tweak the lyrics to work out better, gave suggestions on the chord progressions and the singing of the songs, and played whatever instrument he thought would improve the sound. My songs turned out sounding so professional, like something you would hear on the radio. I would recommend Mackinaw Harvest for all of your recording needs.

Mike Bos: It was an awesome experience and Matt is an awesome audio engineer to work with.
Thomas Carr: I want all my recording done here
Fiona Dickinson: This studio is placed beautifully along the Grand River. It’s a calm space with plenty of natural light to fuel long tracking sessions - something many studios unfortunately lack. Just a good spot to do creative work.Matt was a breath of fresh air to work with. Great intuition as an audio engineer and also as a producer. Knows when to let musicians just do their thing and when to share support or a suggestion. He’s incredibly thorough and made sure we were happy with every fine detail. Always happy to adjust something or swap out a piece of equipment to find the perfect sound.Highly recommend. Will definitely go with Amber Lit Audio again.

Cold War Studios: what do users think?
InfernoArk420: Yall need to get it together how yall open 24/7 but don't answer yo phone or leave any details to where the entrance to the studio is if yall are gonna start a business know how to run it correctly seriously if u guys can't even take care of communication the I wonder how horrible the prices u make are
Raven Griffin: Rick is a great engineer. Affordable and easy to work with.
Nardos Osterhart: Rick is very responsive, experienced, affordable and very easy to work with. Helped me produce an album in ‘record’ time.
Russell Wagner: Rick really knows how to make a guitar pedal sound like a laser gun. Top notch experience, 5 stars, would record again.
Maddy Peters: Rick is the nicest, coolest, and chillest guy to work with. He often made suggestions on what to add to the tracks I was recording to make them sound better, things I would have never thought of. He's all about making the customer happy, and want your mixes to turn out exactly how you'd like. The recording quality is excellent, and he's an all around cool dude to be around. I would highly recommend!
Truth Soldier: If I could give zero stars I would! The site looks promising but it's a waste because you can't get any service. Whoever runs this place literally never answers the phone. I have to refrain from using caps and exclamations to avoid looking like an angry idiot because I want others to take this review seriously. They don't reply to any forms of communication, the place was hard to locate and calling for directions wasn't an option because they apparently feel no need to communicate with willing and able potential customers . If this is how it is before I even complete a session I can only imagine the nightmare if I did. Unprofessional and a huge disappointment . Honest review ( of what I was even able to review )
Anthony Guimond: Rick always does a top notch job in studio. I have been here with 2 different bands and eveything came out amazing!
Stuart McCallister: Great place, great experience, professional all around.

Sound Post Studios: what do users think?
Joy Eggerichs Reed: Stuart was so helpful and gracious as I recorded my first audiobook. He had fantastic feedback as I read, always knew right where to tell me to pick up from and he even went above and beyond when I asked if he could add a little custom sound each time I had a prompt for my reader to do something. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend Sound Post Studios!
Sughnen Yongo: Such a personable, professional and empathetic person. Stuart was a big joy to work with.Hire him now.
A.E. Griffin: Stuart is the man. I simply can't say here all the greatness this man embodies. Years of experience and thoughtful, creative insights make Sound Post Studios the premiere place for audio in GR.
Karen Campbell: The CD 'Your Love Dispels our Fear' was a project born out of covid isolation which meant the musicians had to record separately. Stuart's patient encouragement ensured high quality amid limitations and the inspiration of what is possible even in distressing times.Stuart approached the recording process not just with a strong musical sensibility but as a craftsman.  He shaped a clean but lyrical sound accommodating the gentle movements in each piece enabling the soul to breathe and the heart to sing.
Charles Meyers: This is the best recording studio in grand rapids mi
Eddie Bullinger: I love working with Stuart, he is a magician. He is a perfectionist who adds value to every project he touches. Stuart has the rare ability to listen and take direction while providing valuable ideas... or take the lead if needed. He is a talented musician, and has a network of others to call on for instrument or voice talent. I'm looking forward to my next session.
Joe Anderson: I've both produced and performed some of my best stuff here. Always a great time! On task and professional.
Julie Finneran-Augustyn: Stuart is brilliant at what he does and wonderful to work with!
David Winick: THE studio to use in Grand Ralids.
Sharon Spungen: Great work and even greater people!
Liz de Nesnera: Stuart Poltrock is a true professional. I know that when I get to work with him, the project will be top notch and if I have any questions, he'll have the answers quickly and always with a smile! Getting to work with Stuart is one of the reasons I love being a voice talent!
T Lou: Great space! Stuart is so talented!
Kevin Kent: Great job. Love the place.
Rodolfo Fernandez: Being a VO talent, I always hope to work with clients and studios that are very professional, considerate of my time and offer fair compensation and a kind relationship. Having worked and recorded for Sound Post USA since 2009 I can only say that all these qualities are always present, making every project a win-win one. Kudos to Sound Post USA and their team of real human beings!
Blaine Parker: I've been working with Stuart and Sound Post for over a decade. Their work is top notch, and their attitude is always can-do. If it was possible, I'd give them a sixth star just for putting up with me all these years.

Centennial Sound: what do users think?
MICAH Gurley: Ben did the audio for by book and did an excellent job! He was able to put together a whole cast and it came out Amazing! I don't have anything but positive things to say about him.
Fred Stella: What I love about working with Ben is that he's not just the guy hitting buttons & watching levels. He is a 1st rate director as well, letting you know when you're not giving 100%. One of the reasons i choose to record at Centennial is that I appreciate being kept in line. Ben does that.
Steve Leaf: Over the past six years, I’ve recorded at Centennial about a dozen times. The place is a gem. The space is beautiful, well laid out, and most importantly, inspiring. The head engineer Ben is amazing to work with. He is the perfect mix of laid back and professional. He takes the stress out of recording. He acts as a conduit between your ideas and actually making that sound happen, it's impressive. I’ve been a customer for years, and I’ll keep coming back.
Tricia Mingerink: Ben Zito at Centennial Sound is incredible to work with! He gives you all the professionalism of a big studio with the hands-on approach of indie. He works with amazing narrators who do excellent quality work, and I’ve always been pleased with the audio files he provides, which make proofing the audiobooks a breeze! I highly recommend working with his studio!
Traxton: Ben is an awesome guy to work with! Recording can be a stressful thing, but he really knows how to smooth the process out and create a great atmosphere to get the creative juices flowing. I can't wait to go to Centennial again, and highly recommend it for anyone looking to get some great sounds!
Julie Gilbert: I’ve worked with Ben on over fifteen audiobook projects ranging from poetry to scifi to mystery. His studio is beautiful. He’s also great with communication, easy to work with, affordable, and a genuinely nice guy. When working with him, I know I’ll get high-quality work with a quick turnaround. In addition, Ben knows some top-notch narrators.I look forward to commissioning many more projects in the future.
Carrie Coello: Ben and Centennial Sound are everything you'd want in a post production team - prompt, great communication, and most importantly they make me sound fantastic. I always look forward to working with Ben.
Andy Garcia-Ruse: PERFECT for voice over artists/audiobook narrators at every stage of your career!I began working with Ben at Centennial Sound when I was brand new to working as an Audiobook Narrator. Having a disability (a brain injury), I knew I would need help immediately with any and all post-production work. Not coming from a technical background with any applicable skills, Ben was the perfect fit for me! Not only did he evaluate my recording space, reviewed my equipment (mic, sound, DAW, etc.) but also walked me step-by-step through the process of what it's like to work with an audio engineer. To be honest, as a new narrator, I was nervous to work with an engineer (I was afraid of having someone hear my mistakes---it's a very vulnerable feeling), but I was treated with dignity, respect, and encouragement. I never once was belittled for mistakes, etc. Instead I felt supported and empowered.  As I moved forward in my career, Centennial Sound matched me step-by-step.  I highly recommend!
Cass Kim: I had a wonderful experience working with Centennial Sound for my audiobooks! I love that there are several different voices to choose from with this group, and that you can trust in: timely delivery of files, reasonable willingness to re-record specific things, and high quality sound with no distracting noises or muffled voice quality. I would highly recommend them for any voice-over, audiobook, or recording work you need.
Morgan Haner: One of the best experiences I've had with working in a recording studio. The owner, Ben, is knowledgeable, professional, and super friendly, and the recordings ended up sounding better than I'd hoped for. If you're looking for a recording studio in Michigan, always look here first.
Nick Humphrey: Amazing place to record!
