Spectrum Health Medical Group Rheumatology: what do users think?
Alexandria Dipiazza: I couldn't say enough great thing about my experience. Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Checking in was easy and fast and I didn't feel rushed at all. Dr. Mohamed was extremely thorough and made everything easy to understand. He even kept the coast of everything in mind when prescribing me my medication. I would suggest this location to anyone!
Samantha Kanisky: Went with my sister to see PA Jeffrey Stout because The Doctor had no openings. He came in the room and was in quite the hurry. He asked her what her issue was that brought her into the office. As she was explaining what was going on he seemed to be pre occupied on his phone and computer. When he spoke he was very rude and condescending. Making it seem like there was nothing wrong with her and she is just looking to far into her issues, when in-fact the Dr has bloodwork and X-rays showing she has arthritis and other issues related to that.My sister left the office that day with no answers, no recommendations or relief of her issues and insulted by the way she was spoken to and treated. He definitely needs to have some extra training on how to listen and acknowledge the concerns patients are having and explaining to him. He also should have a little compassion for people who are suffering with autoimmune diseases and looking for answers and some sort of relief. I do not recommend seeing him,I would strictly see the Doctor or go to another practice. You will get no where with Jeffrey Stout. My sister left that office not only with the no help or advice for her issue but insulted and upset about how she was treated. It was a wasted office visit and a wasted co pay.
Addy Pierantoni: Dr.Thabet Is amazing! Listens to your concerns. Answers questions you have very well. 100% recommend him

West Michigan Rheumatology PLLC: what do users think?
Autumn: I have seen dr Slavin many times and have always had a good experience with him. He listens better than any of the doctors I’ve been to. He truly is compassionate and wants to help. Also good at explaining things. He will even draw you flow charts on white boards if needed . Does not make you feel rushed which is huge. Would highly recommend
Lavender K: My 17-year-old daughter was referred to their office after speaking to Sue I would never recommend this office to anybody the lack of compassion and empathy this woman has is ridiculous my daughter has been suffering with lupus and another auto immune disorder and trying to explain how much pain my daughter is in sues response was maybe she needs to see psychiatric care this woman does not have any compassion for anybody who is in pain due to their autoimmune disorder. And the fact that she herself is trying to play doctor here and tell me what my daughter does and doesn’t have and to expect somebody to keep running to the emergency room I hope to God someday this woman might actually understand the pain somebody has when they’re having a severe flareup she doesn’t deserve to have a job in healthcare
Melanie Grochowski: Dr. Slavin and Pulani are amazing. I have never had a Dr with such an amazing bedside manner. Dr. SLAVIN always wants your input on your care plan. He definitely cares and has his patients best interests at heart. It definitely is worth the 5 hour trip to see him.
Skye Schader: After positive ANAs showed up in my bloodstream, paired with an existing diagnosis of Sweets Syndrome and a myriad of AI symptoms, my doctor referred me to a Rheumatologist. After 3 weeks, I called them and was quite coldly told to call back in 3 months if I'm still waiting for an appointment. That seemed unacceptable to me, so at 6 weeks I called them back again. Turns out they've denied my referral TWICE on the basis of - and yes, this is what the receptionist actually told me - I am not "important enough" to be seen. This incredibly rude receptionist also shifted blame on my doctor for not communicating the referral denials, though when I later spoke to my doctor, they had never been informed as such. When asking for more information as to why I was denied, a bunch of regurgitated medical lingo was read off to me, and when I asked for further clarification because I don't know what that stuff means, the receptionist snapped that she just told me, and refused to offer any more information.I burst into tears by the end of this phone call. I have NEVER been treated so rudely by a medical receptionist and because I *KNOW* my body and I know that something is wrong, it seems vile and wicked that they would just decide I'm not worth their care, fail to communicate this to my doctor, then have the audacity to blame my doctor, and in total have set me back nearly 2 months now in my quest to obtain answers and/or a diagnosis. The real kicker? When I related this story to my doctor, I got the impression this has happened many times before, as the person on the phone even seemed to indicate that they knew who the receptionist was who treated me so poorly.West Michigan Rheumatology should be absolutely ashamed of themselves for denying care, bypassing communication, and ultimately leaving a receptionist to speak so poorly to someone that I broke down in tears. I have spoken to my doctor and agreed to seek care outside of Grand Rapids. I have never been treated so carelessly or been made to feel so disposable.
Christine Thieman: I wouldn’t recommend Dr. Slavin to anybody he is a very uncaring doctor and tells you that you have nothing wrong it’s all in your head. Two months later I go to see a rheumatologist in Lansing and found out I had RA they don’t know what Dr. Slavin was talking about. Wouldn’t recommend him as a doctor at all!!!!
Linsey Freet: I was very impressed with West Michigan Rheumatology. All the staff were very nice. Dr Slavin really took his time with me and was very thorough.
Chenney Ward: Dr. Slavin is incredibly knowledgeable, great bedside manner, and works with me on treatments. His nurse is patient, kind, and very professional.
Emily Lynn: I've been coming here for years. Great staff and doctors. The place is professional, yet relaxed. Incredibly thankful for their care and flexibility.
Brenda Marcy: The entire staff is professional and compassionate. Dr. Slavin is very thorough & compassionate.
Isabel “Isabel Maggie” Wright: Dr. Eggebeen is fantastic. He listens to everything, wants your input, and is very knowledgable.
Marianne Rafferty Wentzloff: I cannot give enough compliments about my experience with WMR. The staff are friendly and helpful. Wait time is minimal. And Dr. Eric Slavin is hands down, The. Best. Visits are complete and thorough. I am included in decisions and options. I have never felt rushed. And Dr. Slavin’s easy going yet professional manner always makes me comfortable.
Nichole Krist: The office is very clean and well kept. All the ladies that work in the front office are always very nice to you. The office is always willing to work with appointments, the times that are better for you and rescheduling. I have been very happy coming here for the past 5 years. I see Dr Slevin he has been the best rheumatologist I've had in the past 30 years,he always has time for you is very patient and listens to YOUR symptoms and experience with rheumatoid then schedules a plan. I feel really blessed living in this area to help me with this disease as I am a very active person with 2 dogs that need me to walk and play!
russell rosema: Dr Slavin is an amazing guy! He takes the time to listen and explain your concerns. I was feeling pretty rough when I first went to see him about treating me for RA. Two weeks later I was on the mend.I would definitely recommend Dr. Slavin to anyone who needs help with Rheumatoid arthritis.
DJ Fenske: Dr Slavin takes the time to listen to your problem then offers a couple options for treatment. Truly makes you feel you’re involved with your healthcare. Great experience, highly recommend.
Chris Conklin: I have been a patient for a few years. Dr. Slavin as well as his staff have always been very responsive to my needs. I never feel rushed. He provides great explanations and options for my care. I feel like a partner in my own care.
Mary Foley: Dr. Slavin is a very caring doctor. He explains things and answers all of my questions so that I can understand. I am very glad I found him.
T P: I have had RA for over 25 years and prior to seeing Dr. Slavin I was really struggling. Dr. Slavin is knowledgeable, skilled, kind and empathetic. He always listens to my thoughts and concerns and includes me in the decision making about my care. I get timely responses to phone inquiries and always get worked into his schedule for immediate issues. Thanks to Dr. Slavin, my quality of life has improved tremendously. I would highly recommend Dr. Slavin and his very efficient support team to anyone!
Luis Saenz: Warm friendly staff, everyone is happy and welcoming. Paulani is an excellent support for your visit. Dr. Slavin is extremely caring and thorough.
Dawn Krieger: I love to see Dr. Eric Slavin. He is attentive and really listens to his patience. He has helped me live comfortably with my arthritis.
Mary Zimmerman: This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had with a doctor, and I have seen a lot of them. Dr. Head was terrible!! He barely looked at me, hardly spoke, and spent about 40 minutes looking over my past tests. He didn’t even ask me any questions. He just said “ You don’t have X, but I think you have X. He made me feel like I shouldn’t of even been there. So, I think I will go elsewhere thank you very much! Ridiculous 🤬

Metro Health Rheumatology: what do users think?
CATHY Linder: Thank You for being the BEST! You willMissed dearly..
Sharon Goss: Office assistant was very friendly and helpful. She listened to my concerns and helped me transfer my care to their office from Ann Arbor. Thank you for your help!
Sara Runkel: Receptionist was very rude. Sorry you don’t like your job where you have to answer phones and great people. If you can’t do that kindly, maybe you should look for a different career.
Shaya Buege: Doctor and Nurse care AMAZING! Receptionist... not so much. Just wish they had a little better attitude when tending to patients both on the phone and in person. I feel like I’m interrupting what they are doing when I call and check in.
Sherrelle Padron: My review rating, is not on the account of my face to face visit with Dr. Birmingham. He was kind and knowledgeable the one time I met him. However throughout my treatment I’ve been in touch with the nurses and haven’t heard from him directly since. The main reason for the low score is for the receptionists. One of them in particular is rude, a poor listener, and quite frankly I have to do her job for her every time I call. The other is better than the latter but still subpar. They would benefit from new receptionists all together. It would make my experience much better, especially during such a difficult time of my life. I consistently feel bothered every time I have to call the office and wish I could have been referred elsewhere.

Dr. Richard W. Martin, MD: what do users think?
Loren Wagner: I've had Dr. Martin for my rheumatologist ever since I was diagnosed. He's great. He doesn't mess around telling you what you want to hear. He tells you the way it is and what can be done to help you. He includes you in the treatment plan, explains any questions you have and does the best he can to help you be the best you can be. He truly cares about your health and well being. That's been my experience. I've read the negatives. Give him a try. You'll see.
Kim Brown: Very nice and through. He explained to me more about my condition then any other rheumatologist that I’ve had before. I would highly recommend him.
Diane Hylarides: I’ve been with Richard Martin for over 30 years. He’s very knowledgeable and truly has your best interest at heart. I’m thankful for all that he has done for me.
steve zimmer: Dr Martin is one of the best docs I've ever visited. He's smart, listens to me and is honest and empathetic. I know I can trust him to help me deal with my RA.
Becky Majkszak: Very nice Dr
Stu Joldersma: I am happy and pleased with the care this office is giving me. Appointments have always been on schedule. True Professionals. Most importantly they are making me better.
Omer situation: I call for an appointment.. they show me attitude for no reason.. showing attitude doesn't mean you are good doctor
Josephine Leader: My experience with this office was anything but what you would expect from medical professionals. While he did seem as though he would look into my case, I never returned as my husband and I did not feel the need to pay money to be bullied. I have never met a doctor more narcissistic in my life. Listen to the reviews and find care elsewhere, chances are anywhere else you choose to go will provide far more compassionate care.
patrick pullen: I'm motivated to write this review because of other, unfavorable reviews of Dr. Martin. I've been a patient of Dr. Martin for 10 years and he's been nothing short of amazing. He is ALWAYS willing to take time to explain the physiology of arthritis and the specifics of how certain meds may work to treat my condition. He includes ME in the decision making of treatment, etc. Dr. Martin has been involved with researching medications and is published in the field. I've never been happier with a doctor. He never has an attitude, has never been condescending and treats me with respect. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Martin!!
Shawntina: I recently came to this office with a family member who see's Richard Martin. I do not respect him therefore I left the " Dr." off of his name. Richard Martin is very rude, inconsiderate, uncompassionate, and very condescending! He is the Epitome of a doctor who should NOT practice. He immediately came into the room, he did not say hello to me but said hello to my family member. He asked about my family members recent hospital stay and when I began giving him background information and inquiring about a certain treatment/medicine he immediately began talking down to me before I could explain why my family member was there. He then told us that we "can go someplace else" Yes! he said that!! So that is what my family member will do. When he left the room he told us he was printing off the labs and visit summary and he would be returning back into the exam room, he never came back. I have NEVER been mistreated like this before and would NOT recommend Richard Martin to anyone for rheumatology.
Jim Babbitt: I have been seeing dr James Burmingham for over 6 years at this office. Although he is carrying and kind I believe the time spent in the office is better served seeing someone else at this point that treatment is just not helping. After thinking about changing doctors for over a year. My last visit caused some concern with the curtesy of the office staff. I’ve been going here for years and all of the sudden they need to see my ID insurance card and asking my primary care doctor every time I came in. When I got upset about that practice the office manager came into the examining room and said that she is just fallowing my government regulations (what I can only figure she was referring to President Trump) fallowing the letters of the laws. She then began making things into a argument. I was in a great deal of pain that day a level of 9-10 later I have been to a Surgen dr John Keller sever stenosis lower back I have scheduled a procedure to relieve the pressure and relieve some pain. They also said that the stenosis in my hands can be removed quite easily they are very kind at the Surgens office and carrying. Unlike West Michigan Rheumatologist office , they have turned quite rude. The office manager whom wouldn’t give me her name. Said she was cleaning house and had fired people who would not fallow her rule. She said with a sarcastic grin she had fired the front office receptionist already and she was going to get more. I could not believe what she told me and I said she had made a hard dession easy for me and I’m not going to listen to her anymore. I have never seen such an arrogant manager of a medical office in my 62 years. Living with RA is not easy and for these people to give me such griefs is totally uncalled for. I questioned her about if this was about money and she said she was not going to tolerate dead beats , excuse me I have a no copayment insurance with a zero deductible. How much desrepect can one person take who is in severe pain, uncaring office staff members are not acceptable in my humble opinion. Past time for a move.
Val Wierenga: Dr Martin, is rude , inconsiderate, uncompassionate, and very condescending! He's an untrusting narcissist!! The day I finally went to my new rheumatologist, she told me that she had four other patients that day, that were new patients, that had left him. Do yourself a favor and find another doctor!!
Kat Ponte: I love Dr. Martin. I had a complex case with vasculitis at a very young age and he has followed my case ever since. He’s been great and I would recommend him to anyone needing a good rheumatologist
