Phil: Went to see The Insyderz on the 15th. I'm from out of town so it was a little bit hard to find the entrance at first, but it's around back. At first when you enter you think you are behind stage but its the way the entrance is set up. The place is all ages (which means no alcohol) but had other drinks available. I would definitely go back to see any other bands that come in the future. I would have for the following weekend since Flatfoot 56 would be there, sadly 😔 can't make it. I only give 4 out if 5 because its one bathroom and the toilet paper was running low lol but really it's a nice joint def recommend 👌
Yancy Weaver: The atmosphere is so just wonderful. Feels like an old school Venus with an amazing sound system. Not too big and not too small & the fact that it's an ALL AGES VENUE makes it a beautiful place to play and go watch a show. This is a great place to make awesome memories at. 11/10

Anna Rae: I love skelletones. I’ve been going for months and have always had a great time. On 7/1, i arrived to find out that the price of tickets had over doubled. i understand this was a national band, but there was absolutely NO mention of this change on their social media whatsoever. Upset, i chose not to attend the show. the next morning i got a call from a friend who was at the show. i was told the mosh pit had never been this violent. the man who was the main cause of this violence was not kicked out, police were not called, he was allowed to stay and continue punching and shoving people. After this news, i’m not sure i will ever attend again. i will miss it but i am extremely disappointed. this is a SERIOUS risk to children and minors.
Evan Arraut: Skelletones is such a nice venue. I've had both the experiences of playing here and attending shows here and I can tell you for certain that this is one of the best rock venues in Grand Rapids. The staff is extremely friendly and empathetic, when playing here they were very understanding and helpful for any problems that we had. They do a very good job managing sound, and they sell earplugs for cheap too! The usual crowd here is such a nice group of people, very friendly and courteous.

Anna Walz: The venue is pretty sweet for a small, intimate experience, but it was horrible for watching Pop Scholars, a four person improv group that we LOVE. The only good seats are in the middle, otherwise you can't see any facial expressions or body movements from the comedians, which really deters from the experience. If you are on the extreme side, most of the time you a staring at someone's back (a comedian). Great venue but just not conducive to our fav show. Oh, and we got there a half hour early, fyi. Obviously not enough time.
Kendrah Van Dyken: We were charged 100 dollars and we had 4 drinks which should have been 60.72 with taxes and tip. Super disappointed. I dont like to write bad reviews but we got ripped off which is super unprofessional. We wont be paying with a card at this establishment ever again. We will continue to go for the Comedians but if they dont want me to pay cash they aren’t getting any extra business from us. They dont even give you a receipt. Im guessing so you cant complain about being ripped off. 👎Also you cant go to the bar for drinks. You have to sit with a empty drink for half the show until your server gets to you. I recommend more staff for better service.

For being in beer city that should even be a question. Start stocking some popular beers around town guys!

Original Thought: Mulligan’s is a fun place. They have fair prices and a friendly staff. They had live music in the back room and I was surprised. There is billiard tables and plenty of seating. It’s a very quant pub and I would recommend to stop in at least one.
Christopher Buiten: It's a great chill spot. Drinks are well priced. But it is dark, loud, and a bit smelly sometimes. With that said it is still the overall best dive bar in town. The staff is great too. I've had some of my favorite bar nights here.

Bill Anderson Jr: I found bartenders to be incredibly rude. I came in and waited at the bar for almost 10 minutes before anyone even addressed me. As I was having my drink I was mocked by one of the bartenders and the rest of them laughed and continued to avoid me as I was trying to get my check and leave. In that time, a song that paid for on the jukebox came on and they all mocked me again and skipped the song. I have never felt so uncomfortable or unwelcome in a bar in my life. I will never be stepping foot inside this bar again.

It might not be much but the people I've met and befriended and the memories ive made have made it like a second home to me. Dont let Nick Culver discourage you from checking it out. We are a rowdy and colorful bunch but we are welcoming!
Derrick Duemler: This is literally the worst pile of garbage I've ever been to. I have been to many great dive bars throughout the country and this takes the cake for the saddest purgatory of agony I've ever seen. Everyone looks like they want to die. People try to scam. People brag about their alcoholic lifestyle and shame you if your lifestyle doesn't match theirs. It's sad really. This bar will make you feel cursed. Bartenders would rather patronize with the 30+ year regulars than actually serve anyone. I'd rather have a wet sock used by a homeless dog gagging me than ever step foot in here again. May God have mercy on your soul.

Anyone says otherwise are just bitter cry babies who complain on Google reviews because they were kicked out or cut off. As a former bouncer of 15 years. I've seen tons of bogus bad Google reviews. When someone says the staff was rude or kicked them out for no reason, come be really we all obviously know their is always a reason. Ironwell also brings in a variety of entertainment; from the bands, dj bingo,karokee and line dancing. Tomas, Audrey, Jen, Taylor, Neavaeh, Liz and Lauryn are all amazing bartenders and really care about their customers. I love this bar and will always support them.
Ben Meade: The male bartender there is INCREDIBLY rude to customers. His attitude towards people who come here to relax and have a drink is absolutely miserable. I watched him be very rude to the person next to me for NO REASON AT ALL! I immediately closed my tab and as much as I hate to leave no tip I didn’t leave a dollar and left. Will not be returning to this place. People beware find another place to go it’s not worth it here or you’ll find yourself dealing with this bartender and his nasty attitude.
Sarah M: The male bartender I believe his name is Tomas is very very rude to customers. I have dealt with him along with many other people I know. He is snippy as hell to anyone who goes up to the bar and orders drinks. I try to avoid having to go up there because his nasty attitude ruins the entire vibe of trying to go out and have fun. I have dealt with it myself but have witnessed him antagonize customers numerous times then have them thrown out when there is a response from the customer. They have taken my drinks off the table and have them thrown out after I literally just paid for them because this bartender was getting very nasty with me and when I decide to respond I’m thrown out and my money just spent on drinks are thrown out. Something needs to change with the quality of service. Will not be returning until this bartender is given the door. If you don’t like bartending with a positive attitude obviously this isn’t the job for you.

Lee Bosman: Saw Prof tonight. Everybody was complaining about the sound including him. He did an amazing job with what he could do but he had to continuously call out for the sound guy (PHIL), to fix things. I can't wait for him to come back but if he gets booked here again, I'll be driving to Detroit instead.
Joe White: I’m currently at the Prof concert and can’t hear anything. He’s complained multiple times, it’s echoing, I should get a refund. Fix your acoustics

Jackson Baldwin: For EDM shows, the sound system could use more bass. Other than that, it's a great venue. Brings in a lot of artists who are too big for the Stashe but too small for the main room. The crowd that it attracts is awesome. A lot of nice people, unlike Elektricity that attracts a lot of brosefs trying to start fights. My only other issue is security. They do a great job of keeping the crowd safe, the women safe, and minors from drinking. I'll give them that. But the security here can be aggressive at times. I was once accused of being on a drug which I was not on, and he was really aggressive about it. I tried telling him I wasn't on it, but he wouldn't believe me. He still let me in, which made no sense. Why give someone a hard time about being on a drug (which they weren't even on) but still let them in? If I were actually on that drug, he would have accomplished nothing. Also, at a different show, I was in line, and the people in front of us were all dressed up in rave clothing. The same security guy asked them condescendingly if they had any drugs in their pockets, then started to pat them down. My group was wearing more everyday clothing, and he didn't do that to us. That's just straight up profiling if I've ever seen it.Overall, good venue, good crowd. Could use more bass, as well as security that's not on a power trip to find people using drugs.
