My youngest child didn’t want to skate and played on the arcade machines the whole time- there’s something for everyone. We have also been to the Byron Center location and had an equally great experience!

Maribeth Vlasman: GR Skate has always been the place we've gone to skate when I was younger and now with my family. Both of my kids had their birthday parties there and I run the school skating party at the Kentwood location. Scott, the owner, Carrie, the events coordinator and all of the staff is friendly and helpful. The place is clean, all the arcade games work, great choices for food, drinks and snacks. I highly recommend this location.

LadyM M: 04/06/19 Very unprofessional today we didnt even stay longer than an hour. Staff rude charged us for rental skates & we bought our own then when we asked for our money back because she over charged us she had an attitude. We brought a backpack with our skates in it they took the back pack from us for security reasons which is understandable. She then said I’ll have to go outside to get the backpack back which my children shoes were in it. Been coming here 23 years & I will never return. They have a bunch of young staff working here that don’t know what they are doing.UPDATE: 3/19/23Havent been here since the last incident in 2019 thought ill give it another TRY! I thought wrong it wasnt no where to sit & some homeless looking blk guy had a problem with my son sitting eating a slice of pizza I'm guessing he works there. My 6 year old son wasnt bothering no one but it was a fight about to break out with adult & his scary self didnt do nothing but pick on kids. I will never go there ever again. Also NO AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC WAS PLAYED and 5 parties that were there was AFRICAN Americas.

Marcia Carbines: I was at GR Skate last night for a birthday party. I had a fabulous time...for many reasons. The management was awesome, we felt safe because the rules were clear. The property is immaculate...not a crumb on the floor and just the perfect skating decor. Because we were having a party, we got special attention complete with a flag and the HAPPY BIRTHDAY song. We had pizza...the best ever and pop corn and drinks to go along. It was the best of the best. These people and this place are amazing. Go and have a really good time there. It will not disappooit! Thank you GR Skate! .

Olivia Deckert: GR Skate absolutely knocked it out of the park with their Junk Food Party package. Not only was it a blast for the kids but most of the parents ended up purchasing rentals because the nostalgia of the rink was calling. 10/10 would recommend for all ages.

Rhonda Patton: There is a nice size skate rink, but there is some uneven flooring along the white half wall. Avoid that area and you should be good. The staff was friendly and helpful. The people skating were curtious of the many children skating with the helpers. Other skaters would stop and help them get up if no one from their group was close.

Kandi Banda: If you have your own skates, GR Skate and Event Center Byron Center is the place to go! You can walk right in there and skate for free without anyone noticing. If you need rentals, this is NOT the place to go. We decided after 7 we wanted to go skating but figured if we got there by 8 we would still have 2 hours to skate. However, when it takes 30 minutes to figure out who you have to pay and who is working the skate counter and then they spend another 30-40 minutes playing specials so your kids are only able to skate maybe 5 minutes in the first hour and 15 minutes... totally not worth it. And don't bother asking about a refund because they will just point out you could stick around until 10 for the chance at another 15 minutes of skating. Woo hoo! $30 well spent (NOT!). And $30 for 2 skaters and skates with 1 spectator seems a bit high but in fairness there, it's been awhile since we had been skating so could be the norm.

Natalie Count: Absolutely loved it here, however I'm not a big fan of the rental skates they weren't in very good shape but we had a wonderful employee help us out with being new to the area she had pink and purple hair I didn't catch her name unfortunately but she was super helpful

Danny L: I appreciate the skate guards monitoring the rink floor and making it safer (e.g. whistling anyone playing rink tag, etc). I don't want my 7 year old child to be injured unnecessarily. I can still have a conversation on the rink because the music is not overly loud. In the past, I had to go to the snack area to have a conversation and I'm glad they decided to turn down the music volume.

Evonna Ramirez: We just moved to the area from CA. We’ve skated at quite a number of rinks in different states and didn’t really know what to expect here. We came on adult night and we were so pleasantly surprised. Great vibe, cool retro aesthetic, and friendly staff. The music was pretty good but after awhile it did feel a little like you were at a middle school dance but all and all, a great spot with some good skaters

Jessica Herbst: We went here for a school function for my daughter and we had such a fun time. My absolute favorite part, though, was the staff. I know there are a lot of rules that need to be followed and the staff implemented them with kindness and grace. It made my kids and me feel safe and comfortable. One gentleman in particular named Jose (I believe) was working so hard in every area of the roller rink. Very impressed and will definitely be coming back.Oh and they accept Apple Pay! Which is awesome, because I didn’t want to carry around my wallet or debit card and didn’t have to!
