calvin ackley: I wanted to send a decent sized generator with wheels (4x4x6 feet). I was given a quote (pleasant on the phone, the only reason I'd give it a 1 star). I clearly communicated the exact details (it needed to be secured on a pallet). And for the price savings I decided to bring the product to the Grand Rapids location 90 miles away. When we got there the shipping dock (or whatever you call it) the guy that was going to take it off the truck rejected it immediately because he said it needed to be completely inclosed in a box! Horrible communication between the front office (or wherever) and the people unloading the products to be shipped. I got another quote later in the day kindly explaining the situation and the lady on the phone (really nice) said she would explain the situation to the higher ups with keeping in mind the wasted gas money and 1/2 a day bringing it to GR. We got the new quote and there was NO discount even put into it considering it was a mistake on their end. Poor business practice, go elsewhere. Obviously they are big enough and don't care.

Darrell Johnson: If you have a big home improvement project then I recommend Eikenhouts. They have high grade building material in bulk. Not cheap but better than Home Depot and Lowes.

Kim Paavola: Very frustrating process with this supplier trying to get one window replaced. First walked in their store to get the ball rolling in July, finally got my window in December. They didn't get the order started at the onset, when I asked for an update some weeks later they told me I needed to pay first which is something they didn't ask for when I made the order, then once the window was in they didn't call me to let me know, I had to call them to find out it was ready for pickup. The finished product was fine but they are slow and poor on communication. Maybe they are better with large orders or big name builders but my experience as one little guy just needing one replacement window was poor.

Ken Moredick: Absolutely horrible at communication and processing(Grand Rapids location). I placed an order for metal roofing, received an order confirmation, 3 weeks later at the expected arrival date, they inform me that the order was never processed. So we re-ordered it. 3 more weeks... Expected date comes. I call to verify arrival and delivery setup. No return call. I email, no response. For 3 more days I get no response. Finally I get Alex (my original salesman) on the line and he informs me that Metal Sales never received their order again. He just sent off an email ordering the material, never got a confirmation, and assumed it was ordered. He then tells me it will be 3 more weeks if we want to re-order it again, or I could change the gauge and color and have a different product in 1.5 weeks. Absolutely horrible at communication and follow through. Terrible to do business with.

Paul Vandentoorn: Unbelievably horrible customer service. I needed replacement glass for 3 windows which took 12 weeks to get in, once I finally received them in November 2020, 1 was broken. I have been asking Travis (the service tech) to reorder a new piece since November of 2020 it’s February 2021 and still have not even received an answer, if it is ordered. I have been contacting him every couple weeks and can’t get answers.

Tim Vandentoorn: After being a customer for years, I will never recommend, or use this Fox Brothers again. After a frustrating time with a sales rep on a warranty issue I was finally handed off to Craig Bates who is apparently a supervisor at Fox. Going back almost 9 months I was told they had ordered a replacement sash for a cracked Integrity window. 3 months ago I was told the window was shipped. Since that time I have emailed Craig twice with no response and today was my third attempt to get some level or acknowledgement. I can only hope after spending tens of thousands on dollars I would get a response, but to no avail. Whatever happened after the merger a few years ago destroyed all levels of customer service here. I will be following Eric Vanderkamp to Zeeland Lumber for my window and building needs. Update: The day I wrote this review the window sash was dropped off. Unfortunately it was not the right window.....

Zach Lanser: I Called to order 8 pieces of vinyl siding on Monday 10/10/22. The representative I spoke with said he would get back to me with the price, and the product should be arriving from a different warehouse later in the week. I Did not hear back from him and called back on Thursday morning (10/13/22) for an update. I was told the product did not arrive yet and it should be here later in the day. I did not hear anything back and called again on Friday. Again, was told the product had not arrived yet, and am now told it should be on the truck arriving Tuesday (10/18/22). I ask if I can be contacted Tuesday whether it has arrived or not. It is now 10/26/22 and I have received no further communication. I would look for materials elsewhere.

Justin Parker: Stay away!! If they had an option for 0 stars that's what they would get from me. Very unprofessional to say the least. I ordered new windows and siding from them on May 29th and they told me 3-4 weeks on delivery for the windows. I called them yesterday (July 6th) for a status update and their response from the Manager (Chris ) was "sorry it was a simple human error and your windows were never ordered". Mind you we called 2 weeks ago for an update and they claimed they were in route. He proceeded to argue with me and said mistakes happen. Literally ruined our whole summer, they took our money back in May and held it for this long just too say sorry they weren't ordered properly. This is why you should always go the the reviews and notice the lack of reviews to be a serious problem. Buyer beware. I canceled my entire order and will never buy or refer anyone to this joke of a place. No accountability whatsoever.

David Bouwkamp: I bought shingles to reroof my house.The good:* Friendly, knowledgeable service* One of the few places you can find Malarkey shingles* Large selection of take-home samples* Very reasonable delivery fee.* I'm a homeowner, not a repeat-customer contractor, but I was still treated as a valued customer.Could be better:* When I brought in returns, they said they had my credit card on file and would post back to it. When I checked my statement and found no credit, I had to make another trip there to give my info since they didn't actually have it.* First shipment didn't have enough shingles. They arranged another shipment in a couple days, but that time the truck cracked my driveway.* Someone in the back kept using vulgar language when I was in the store on several occasions.

They moved when I asked them: I went in and asked my husband if they had come to the door to let us know. He said, “no” I have been home now for 30 minutes wanted to go to dinner and could not as they had me blocked in. Have courtesy of neighbors when you do block driveways. Park in front of the property you are serving.
