They have the newest, cutest fabrics and have completely won me away from big box store wovens. I'm now Ruby Star Society and Rifle Paper Co obsessed. Someday I'll let them teach me to quilt, but for now I'm having fun making my kid's outfits in adorable coordinates! Their customer service is top notch, all the staff are very knowledgeable, and they go way above and beyond. We are lucky to have this store in our area!!

Valerie Duvall: Family Sewing is the best thing since…. Let’s just say they’re the best! They do an awesome job on repairing your machine if needed or for its annual health check. Candy and Heather are great to work with and very knowledgeable. They will open your eyes to a whole new world of machine embroidery (which I do) or other fun sewing projects and classes in general. I highly recommend supporting this family owned business; they treat you like a valued person.
Helena Sibylla: Fantastic customer service here! I called on the Saturday of a holiday weekend, and they answered the phone even though the store wasn’t actually open, and then let me come in and exchange a part that I needed to complete a project. Can’t guarantee this will happen for you, but just know these are people who go out of their way to help their clients!
Kelly Austin: Very friendly staff. Knowledgeable and helpful.
mr Gene: Bought a used sewing machine here. Larry spent the extra time showing me how it worked and answered all my ignorant questions. Perfect customer service, something that this generation has forgotten.
Jonathon Hitt: The team there are artists themselves, not just associates. It enhances the experience of popping in and popping out.
Hannah Pedersen: Absolutely amazing. I can’t sing their praises enough. I went in with an error and walked out within ten minutes, and they even showed me some tips and tricks on my machine I didn’t know! The ladies were so very kind and patient and I can’t say enough good things. This is the second time I’ve been to them and I know it’s the only place I will be bringing my machine! Thank you again!
Jessica Stoutmeyer: Nice selection of machines and helpful staff.

Tom H: This place is amazing we took our sewing machine there because it broke and the staff there went the extra mile to find out it was covered under warranty.I cannot say enough about the employees knowledge of the items they sell there and the knowledge that they have in the sewing subject in general. This place was recommended by someone from the local fabric store who expressed their appreciation for the employees there.

Leslie W: I have been buying sewing machines and getting service for over 20 years with Family Sewing. Without their support, tutelage, repair service and excellent advise, I would no way have the sewing skills I have today. Their classes are amazing and follow up after you buy a machine is never ending. I am grateful every time I sew for coming upon them so long ago. Thanks for all you do!

Lakeshore Sewing: what do users think?
Sherrie Johnson: First of all I would like to apologize to the owner for the mistake I have made on a review, this business is an A+ and the owner has such class thankyou sherrie johnson
Pamela Watters: Being brand new to the field of sewing, I was disappointed to be looked down on for the type of machine I purchased (Janome). They also tried to sell me a $1400 "beginner" machine!
Sherry Olsson: Came in today and expressed disappointment in the way my embroidery machine behaved yesterday. Spoke to a friendly lady and she gave me some suggestions to deal with the thread breakage issues. Anyways, I bought some embroidery thread and needles there. Upon my return home, decided to do what she suggested, which was clean my bobbin area out and check for burrs. I put the new thread on and am embroidering very happily right now. Thanks for the help!
Mike Stone: Always had the best people to work for them.
Eise: My grandmother spent tens of thousands of dollars at this store over the years between machines, materials, and classes. My grandma considered the owner, Carol, a friend because she was invited to go along with her on trips, including a trip to Australia about 7 years ago.My mom went into the store recently to get advice on how to sell the remaining sewing machines that we have (most of which were bought from that store) and explained that grandma is in a nursing home now due to alzheimers. It was explained to Carol that my mom and uncle both have cancer so we're trying to clean things out to get the estate settled. Carol's response? She told my mom that it would have been good to know about grandma's issues so that she didn't have to 'babysit' her in Australia. My grandma was competent when she went to Australia on a group trip with Carol.I'm glad my grandma is no longer aware enough to know that someone she considered a friend may have very likely been using her as a cash cow. There were far more civil ways to decline to help my pancreatic cancer patient mother. If you read this Carol, know that my grandma will never get a chance to go back to Australia as she's in the end stages of her illness now. It was a very impactful trip for her and one of the last good adventures she had. I'm sorry you felt inconvenienced while staying in different rooms on a group trip. I'm sure grandma more than paid for your 'babysitting' services. Shame on you and your cold heart.
Stefanie Bulk: An expensive quilting machine as a gift from my son, never worked correctly from the day I opened the box. I was unable to get help from the company it was purchased from. I called Lakeshore Sewing….Brian and Scott offered to try to help me. After inspection it was found to have a part that did not belong to that machine. After ordering the part needed, testing it out…I am now very excited to use my machine that works!!!!!! They did not have to go out of the way to try to help on a machine they did not sell.Very nice, helpful, went the extra mile to help….I recommend Lakeshore!!!!!!! ;)Stefanie B.
Kelly Austin: Great selection of fabrics, knowledgeable staff and the classes are fantastic!
Joan Blessings: Carol is so helpful and full of knowledge! They take good care of you there.
Toni Fox-Cole: Great customer service!!
Lisa Gleason: Staff are so nice and very helpful
Blurae Gray: Had exactly the thread we were looking for.
Bette B: Always so helpful.
Beth Parr: I’m here at 3:11pm Saturday and even though the hours posted say they should be open until 4pm, they are closed.
Brandy Yntema: My favorite place to go. Always friendly and helpful; and great customer service.
Hazel Smith: I didn’t end up buying the machine they showed me there (I found a used model more at my level elsewhere) but the service was great. Brian was very helpful and very knowledgeable, I will definitely be back for more supplies :)
Kim Overkamp: People were real nice to work with great experience. Bought a embroidery machine.
Tom H: Amazing place . They repair there.I went to turn in a sewing machine and walked out with lots of knowledge.
Denise Ryzanca: I bought a nice machine here not long ago. This weekend, I had a needle break and fall down into the machine underneath the feeds. I took it in today and they immediately started working on it. He was able to retrieve the needle. They also gave me advice on the project I was doing and suggested I get a smaller needle and a Teflon foot. He also adjusted my threader which I was having trouble with, but hadn't mentioned it. I bought the items I needed and used my $10. off card they had sent me in the mail after I bought my machine. Everyone I have interacted with, at Lakeshore Sewing, is professional, knowledgeable and courteous. I strongly recommend them to anyone wanting to buy a machine, or sewing table.
Vicky Sluiter: Updated!I would love to give them a higher rating. I bought a beautiful machine at a great price. The reason I went with them was the promises of support, including a class to help me learn my machine. Sadly that has never materialized. The few choices for class time were all in the morning during the work week. Some of us do work full time jobs. I asked about a Friday class as I could get that off. I was told they would get back with me. That never happened. I'm very disappointed.I have amended my review. The team reached out to me, very apologetically, because they dropped the ball badly. They worked with me to find a day and time to fit my schedule. I'm very happy with the class I just took and look forward to taking project classes there. I do hope they are working on answering phones properly and passing along messages.
Nancy Husted: Dropped off a machine for repair
Susan Kruszynski: Some beautiful fabrics!

SewTech: what do users think?
Kellie Terry: Mary did such a fantastic job fixing my Juki sewing machine. She is friendly, her turnaround time is amazingly quick, and her fees are very reasonable. Best of all, as another reviewer noted, when I had my machine back, it ran BETTER than it did brand new out of the box. Very satisfied customer!
Cherie Cullum: I dropped off 2 machines for service. Mary knew I was eager to finish holiday sewing and promptly turned around one machine for me! Excellent service and prices! I will use her again!
Maureen Kennedy: Positive:Professionalism,Quality,Responsiveness,ValueWow. So far, so very good. My baby lock seems to be running better now than it did from the factory.
Heather Northuis: Excellent service, responds quickly to messages. Willing to answer my small sewing questions to better use my machine. I was in the middle of a project and the quick return of my machine was greatly appreciated. I also valued that she spent the time looking up my machine to properly care for it since it was one she had not worked with before.
