Dj H: My wife and I came here at the recommendation of a friend who has good taste. The food was absolutely fantastic and we were greeted warmly by the owner who was very kind. He was very friendly and told us about the business and made the food promptly. He had great pride in his restaurant as he should.I went with his recommendation and just got the butter chicken which was great and my wife got a vegetable dish which she absolutely loved too. The food was very filling and left good tastes in our mouths. The garlic naan was delightful. It was very crispy on the outside and soft on the inside at the same time; the perfect texture. We will definitely be back even though we live on the other side of town, and we will pass the recommendation on as our friend recommend it to us.Vegetarian options: There are lots of vegetarian and vegan options as well. He specifically asked us if we needed any special preparation when we orderedParking: There is a rear parking lot with rear entry to the restaurantDietary restrictions: They have lots of vegetarian and vegan friendly meals

Sheri Monroe: This is the BEST Indian food in town, hands down. My husband and I love Indian food and have frequented many places in the greater GR area, some places we've really enjoyed and unfortunately a few have gone out of business. We used to live nearby India Town (walking distance) and went frequently. We moved to another part of town 10 years ago and while we don't go as often, the food never disappoints! We recently ordered take out for a date night in after our kids went to bed and were both so happy with the meal. We get a couple of appetizers and split a meal and there is more than enough food for us (we have leftovers, too).
Piramesan Bala: Food: 4/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 4/5More
Chris Snyder: Best Indian food I've ever had. We've been there twice now, and will be returning frequently. The garlic naan is amazing!

Nirmaljeet Singh: I highly recommend India Town in Grand Rapids. Fantastic service, delicious food, well priced and great location. We ate here several times already and planning to invite my friends soon.
lucy: The food here is amazing! I have never had Indian cuisine before and was glad to have this place be my first authentic meal. The owner is super friendly and has great customer service. If you are thinking of trying this place out, I recommend you do!
Dr. James Heath: Great food! Super tasty and would recommend it to everyone. Tony, the owner is a very friendly and personable man and takes his food very seriously. He works hard for our enjoyment. Great place with wonderful authentic food!
Tanisha Zaynab: I went there and was the only person there. (I'm Muslim and wear hijab) and he started being so creepy with me. Asked me where my husband is, asked how much money I have. Told me Muslim women love him and he has many Muslim girl friends. Told me he is married but does not care because love is love. Told me about massages he gives other women and tried to give me he cell phone number asking me to text him. Told me he likes me a lot and I'm very sweet. If you're a single woman I do not recommend ever going in there alone. I asked for a to go box and left. And $30 later I can't even eat my food because I feel so disgusted
Amy Huff: Highly recommended! The food and atmosphere was exceptional!

Mithu Srilankan & Indian Cuisine: what do users think?
Taufiq Umar: Hello, I am happy today that I found a restaurant that serves my favorite food. Thank you very much for your sweet and delicious food. You cook really delicious food. I will always try to eat at your restaurant. All the food was very good. I enjoyed the buffet today. Thank you very much👍
Jon Howell: What every Indian restaurant strives to become. Friendly locals good service and cheap delicious food. Mango Lassi blew my gentiles back. Chefs kiss.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Rakesh Ramesh: Initially I was blown away with the reviews and went to this place but unfortunately it was complete disappointment. We went there for lunch buffet $15+taxes. This review is based only on the buffet hoping Ala Carte menu might be better. I would prefer other restaurant in this over this one.1. This place not for somebody who knows Indian and Srilankan food especially people from south part of India will definitely not like this food. I can understand chilli levels will be reduced to accommodate everyone but taste and flavors should be there bare minimum.2. Items were very less to the price but sufficient quantity was there it’s refilled properly. Place was small but it was organized well in the available space.3. Only one meat is provided that is chicken atleast it could have been fresh, chicken in the gravy tasted stale however that gravy taste was nice which is close to the cuisine mentioned in restaurant name.4. Biriyani was like tomato rice in fact tomato rice will taste better this is no where close to any biriyani type or tomato rice type I have never eaten any biryani in Sri Lanka or India like this.5. Saled was fresh and good fortunately that’s what helped to fill myself. Only dessert available was fruit custard but the strawberry or whatever essence was dominating the taste.6. Yellow rice, and veg gravy was not bad but definitely not the tasty ones for sure. Coconut rice was betterLastly the restroom could have had better lighting light was dim as candle light.
Elliot Nolte: The curry is an alarmingly delicious detonation of flavor. There is so much going on in it that I cant identify any individual flavor, my taste buds just transmit "AWESOME" to my limbic system. I have bought take-out from them for two years now, consistently delicious. Amazing food 10/5 stars
Brian Martin: As a lover of Indian food I was excited to try this local spot after seeing the reviews. I was craving my usual lamb seekh kabab dish that I get everywhere and I have to say it was so dry and flavorless I literally could not eat it. Like a charcoal briquette. Maybe the rest of the menu is amazing, but this was the first unedible dish I’ve had anywhere.
Sheeba: OMG, you have got to try this restaurant! It's a hidden gem that we stumbled upon during our trip to Holland. We were a group of 7 ladies from Chicago who were craving some authentic Indian food and this Sri Lankan plus Indian restaurant totally hit the spot. Even though it didn't look fancy from the outside, there were so many people inside that we just had to give it a shot. The staff was super nice and got us seated in no time. We ordered a bunch of stuff - chicken biryani, chicken kotthu, fish curry with yellow rice, masala dosa, and tea. Let me tell you, we were all big time foodies and food critics , and this clearly checked all boxes ! One of the best we have tried here in the US for a long time. The food was so good that we wanted to go back the next day and try their buffet as well, but we just didn't have the time. We were so impressed that I even called the owner, Mithu, personally to thank him for the amazing food and asked him to consider opening a restaurant in Chicago. We don't have a single Sri Lankan restaurant here and we're really missing out. I suggested that he should even consider setting up a pop-up restaurant or food truck so that we could try his food again without having to travel all the way to Grand Rapids /Holland in MI. Fingers crossed that he takes our suggestion seriously and brings his delicious food to Chicago soon!Seriously people - this restaurant is a MUST try if you live in the area or are just visiting - you will NOT be disappointed and of course , no doubt - those 5 star reviews on google and yelp are all genuine ones just like mine!! Give this place a try ASAP if you are an Indian food lover.
Colleen Egleston: This place is amazing! This was our second time dining there and the food is probably the best Indian I’ve ever had, and I’ve had Indian in NYC, Chicago, California and all over Michigan. The Butter Chicken has the most amazing flavor, very deep and complex, the Veggie Samosas were perfect, the Chicken Tikka Marsala was fantastic. Don’t let the sketchy strip mall fool you, in fact the location is probably the only reason there isn’t an hour wait, the food in this little restaurant is giant on flavor. Also one of the cleanest Indian restaurants I’ve eaten in, and it’s the only time we’ve ever been asked if we had any food allergies or dietary restrictions. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Alex Navarro: Best Indian food I’ve had in Grand Rapids.I’m not an expert but these flavors make my stomach happy. The spicy is spicy. The naan bread is alway crispy. The staff is also super friendly and welcoming. Even when they are slammed, they keep their cool and help everyone out.Vegetarian options: Tons of veggie and vegan options that are t the typical, mmm tastes just like chicken that you don’t want to eat anymore. But actual, legit, delicious dishes
Drew Ayers: The food is very good. It always comes out hot and tasy. BUT expect long wait times. The staff is good and attentive but I believe they are very understaffed so it takes a while if you dine in.Edit: Upped it to 5 stars because of the Saturday lunch buffet.
Anthony Cardinal: Amazing food, service, and atmosphere!!! Going back 100%!!!
Latino Stilo: Decided to try this place because of the many reviews and I like Indian cuisine. The food is amazing, will return.Food: 5/5 …More
C. Albert Thompson: The food here was very good. I felt like I was back ordering food in India. I ordered the lamb tiki masala it comes with a bowl of rice. You should order naan to go along with your food.I also ordered the mango lassi which was very tasty.
Charles Lerg: Knockout food. Have been several times, everything we’ve ordered has been amazing. It’s a must go.
Theepan Navaratnam: Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5More
Paige Mama: The food here is DELICIOUS! According to reviews we do not order anything with bones in it, but everything we have ordered has been amazing. We get common dishes like butter chicken and naan, nothing that we are not familiar with. For a family of five, three meals are more than enough to take home.
Hills (Hillary S.): What a beautiful little restaurant with amazing food and service. From start to finish our meal was amazing---highly recommend!Vegetarian options: A lot of great vegetarian options that are flavorful.Dietary restrictions: Very good about labeling things and also ask if you have any food allergies
Rajavel Alagaraj: We have tried lunch buffet here and the food was delicious ☺️
Mindy Bailie: Absolutely delicious food!! Portion sizes are large and the owners are very nice. It's my favorite place in GR!Dietary restrictions: They always ask if there are any dietary restrictions when you order - very considerate.
Anthony Rodriguez: Everytime I come in I am greeted respectfully. The food is awesome and authentic. Great place to eat Indian food.Vegetarian options: Good amount of vegetarian options.
rosie Tangorra: We had a wonderful feast here yesterday! I am new to Sri Lankan cooking, my family is not so they ordered and it was fabulous. Food so freshly made and so delicious. Thank you.Vegetarian options: There are plenty!Kid-friendliness: Very nice to the 2 with us. They loved the food too.Parking: Right in frontWheelchair accessibility: I have a Walker and it was fine, no steps
Louie H: Really great Indo Chinese dishes here. One of the best Gobi Manchurian (battered Cauliflower stir-fried Chinese style) I’ve had in the US.Rest of the meal was great too. Friendly service.

susmitha Inturi: Amazing service and food
uday chinnu: Friendly staff and pretty quick turn round time to have meals on the table I have visited yesterdayConsistently good food quality.
Girish: I would not recommend this place. Poor taste. They will take hours to deliver the food. Even for a cup of water refilling you need to wait for a long time. All the dishes tasted very bad. Horrible sambar vada. Better avoid this place if you want to eat tasty and hygienic food. Please don't waste your money. There are a lot of better restaurants around this area
Kumar Naidu Pendyala: This place is amazing. Quality food in a pleasant environment. They have priced it nicely and the Dosa night is just awesome. I'll surely visit this place again and recommend it.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Hyderabadi Dum Biryani Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More
siva subash: Probably the worst Indian we have been to in Michigan. The lamb was half cooked in biryani and karivepaku chicken tasted like some curry mixed with left over chicken from the previous day.
Ozzie!: Great Chicken tikka masala and Garlic naan. Amazing customer service!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chicken Tikka Masala Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot …More

Avinash Maddu: Chicken 65 biryani and egg biryani tastes really yummy 🤤. Make sure to order spicy
Mairead Steketee: Delicious food! I was too hungry to take pictures but we got the butter chicken (10/10 mild spice was perfect), chicken tikka masala (8.5/10 medium), garlic naan, aloo paratha(this was spicy but sooo good), and butter naan! Excited for these leftovers.Vegetarian options: Lots of options!Kid-friendliness: Nobody was here! sanjana dara: Satisfied to the fullest
Usha: Kid-friendliness: Kids are very comfortable to roam around..
Shaik Shakira9882: Very good taste 😊
Ritish Reddy: Good food and decent ambiance with warm hospitality
TANOJ KUMAR: As we entered the restaurant, we realized there is no absolute sense of ambience. It feels so dull. We had high expectations of the huge menu as the first waiter spoke high about the chef and tastes in the restaurant but the food was really disappointing. Some of the chicken pieces were under cooked, Biryani was not heated fully, besides tasting bad. Food was not fresh and a particular waiter asked us to manage with it. We had a good laugh at the irony of the food. I DONOT recommend this place.
Kayla DeWeerd: Curry Leaf was so good! The food was outstanding and the staff was really friendly. I will be back!
Nan Bear: Our Waiter had a bit of an attitude in the beginning of our meal, not to include our food came in a odd order (appetizers came last LOL) they were very pushy for a 5 star rating but the food was very good all in all

Linda Monroe: Always great, love the dumplingsFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Vernon: I’ve eaten curry everywhere. They ARE the best. Goat was tender. Sauce was super good. Needed more rice. Naan was average though
dilu Sharma: I highly recommend this place!!! Desi spies is one of the best Indian + Nepalese restaurant that I found in Grand Rapids. I moved to Grand Rapids eight months ago from Nashville, Tennessee and I have been many Indian restaurant in here but the most delicious cuisine I found out is this restaurant. The dumpling is to die for, so delicious. Methi Chicken, Butter chicken, Chowing, goat curry, lamp Rogan Josh and Etc.The staffs are very friendly and welcoming. I’m definitely going back to this restaurant. ❤️
Greg Cleveland: Had dinner tonight, Butter Chicken, Paneer Tikka Masala, Malai Kofta and Garlic Nan. YES. Tasty, authentic. Atmosphere was simply real. Nothing fancy, but so delicious and generous portions. Will be going back here.
AgentTheory: Ordered through Door Dash. We had (left to right) the lamb saag, Rogan Josh, and chicken vindaloo. Rich flavor profile, but I think they add the hot spice late in the cooking, which tends to cover the other flavors. All three dishes also had whole bay leaves (or other type) and other solid spices in the finished dish. Good flavor overall, but rather crude preparation technique.
andi nicpon: I really enjoy Desi spice I go there once a week to once every other week. I've had the chicken tikka masala, the butter chicken, and the tandoori chicken. I usually go for a spice level three or four which works out great. There's enough flavor in there but you're not hating yourself for getting it. I would highly recommend trying Desi spice if you never tried it and are looking for some really good Indian food
Tiva: Always come back for their great dumpling especially the chili momo and mango lassi.
Meera Patel: I spoke to the owner Prabin at 7:40 pm on January 11, 2023. I called him to inform him that the order that I received was not what I placed on the phone with Durga. I asked for 3 orders of extra spicy chilli chicken momos. And I received three orders of blend chili chicken momos. Also Durga failed to ask me what spice level I want. This has happened several times in the past. All in all the customer service is terrible. I asked him what he could do for me since I did not receive what I paid for and instead of solving the issue he was being very rude to me. Saying that next time I should say what spice level I want such as 20 or 30. I am a frequent customer of desi spice, so the way this was handled was not acceptable at all.
Jeffery Seegert: First time eating at this restaurant. It is primarily Indian with a small selection of Napalese food. I started with the vegetarian samosas (2 per order). These were freshly made, large and crispy on the outside. The flavors were spot on, especially with the spicy Tamarind based dipping sauce. My son and I ordered the Chicken Thukpa and the kauai goat along with some Bhatura. The flavors were extraordinary and spot on with the spice levels. My son, who can be a picky eater, said one word during dinner ...."good!" The portions were very large with very reasonable pricing. The only down side was that the menu had no drinks on it and the selection in the cooler was limited to sprite and orange soda. All on all a great place to eat. I will be returning frequently to explore the menu.
Edward Dixon: Very good food fresh and amazing for such a small place. The potions are large. Staff are very polite and friendly. It is worth a visit. I have been to many Indian restaurants throughout the US I would say for a small place it compares to some of those larger restaurants.
Kori Wickham: First time there. Quality food. I didn’t expect it. No buffet but the menu has so much available. Yummy momo and bread basket. Shahi planner amazing. Butter chicken good. Chicken briyani amazing with no bones in it. NO BUFFET is not available here. Oh, and fair prices. Leave a good tip. Will be back. The spice was spicy! Yay!
Murtiag (Murt): Great food, great service, great atmosphere. Large portions.Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Pradhyumna Kumar Pillamari: Ambience is really old. Service was very slowCouldn’t handle grub hub and dine in orders together. We sat at our table for 20 mins after the appetizers to get our entrees. Chicken Tikka and coke was the only thing I could feel like eating. Please don’t ever try their chicken fried rice. I should have asked for a refund on the rice. Dumplings very just ok. Overall not recommended!
Esther White: Update: I became very ill after eating a small portion of the food I ordered here. I reached out to the 3rd party delivery service and they're investigating the issue for me.Ordered delivery from here and was disappointed with the outcome. The cucumber salad is $5 for literally a half cucumber cut up with pepper sprinkled on top. The samosa is good, but the vegetable biryani and aloo gobi were both so strongly seasoned with mint it was borderline inedible. I've ordered from here before and had similar issues but wanted to give it another shot, I definitely wouldn't recommend the food here due to both experiences being fairly negative. I would say the only item that has been satisfactory is the samosa and chicken fried rice. Kind bummed out about bad food, but maybe they just need to work on a little quality control?
sun ny: Indian food does not taste good. Nepali foods are ok. Most of the food don't have the flavors they need to be.2 star is for Nepali food and staff. For Indian food it's 0. Ambience and neatness not good.Food: 1/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Dominic Iacovoni: This place is very authentic. I keep coming back! Even when I’ve an issue/mix up, they’ve gone out of their way to make it right. This is a reliable and respectful establishment and a genuine experience of Indian cuisine. It’s a little hidden gem. I recommend anyone try it and disagree! Fair prices.Vegetarian options: Great paneer!

Josip Benko: Definitely the top place for Indian food. My wife and I have made it our go to meal for Friday Nights! We usually get the Chicken and Lamb Tikki Masala with some Garlic Naan. I do wish we got a few more pieces of lamb and chicken but overall the meal was fantastic. Great creamy sauce, with a side of fragrant jasmine rice, you really can't go wrong here.
Shubha Somashekhar: I have been to this place a couple of times before. It is usually when I am passing via Grand Rapids. This time, food didn't taste as good as last year, and some of the breads barely had salt. My kids wanted to eat here this time, and they were disappointed with cheese Naan and they said it barely had any cheese, which they had previously liked.
Matt B: The food is amazing and the service is good if you can flag down a server. One thing we didn't realize is that some of the dishes do not automatically come with rice. We waited for the server to come back so we could ask for rice, but the server never came back. We had to go up to the bar to get some attention, but this was probably a fluke, since they were pretty busy. All in all, it's one of the top Indian restaurants in Grand Rapids.Vegetarian options: Decent vegetarian options, as Indian food tends to lean towards vegetarian. More options than your average restaurant.

Pind Indian Cuisine: what do users think?
Táňa Rulková: Excellent food and great service. Tons of vegan and vegetarian options.
Leslie Soriano: It has a great vibe. The food looks and tasted great. Felt like authentic Indian cuisine. It can be considered spicy for some. Staff was nice and came every certain time to refill water and make sure everything was going good.
Rob G. Lewis: OMG. Live this place. If you like Indian Cuisine this is the place to go!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Vaibhav Kate: Nice Indian food and very quick serviceGood ambiance and located in downtownVegetarian options: Good vegetarian options
Carrie Simons: We had a large party before our daughter got married. We already had reservations but the private room was too small to accommodate us properly. We were putting people at the end of tables and still didn't fully have everyone seated at a table. We did make do and the staff did their very best to accommodate all of us. It just wasn't a practical place for the number of people we had.We will go back again, just with less people.
Himanshu Agrawal: We recently dined at this restaurant and I must say, we were thoroughly impressed. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted warmly by the staff, who made us feel right at home. The ambiance was perfect – with just the right lighting and decor to create a relaxed and inviting atmosphere. Now, on to the food – it was absolutely delicious! Every dish that I tried was expertly crafted and bursting with flavor. The chef clearly knows what they're doing and takes great pride in their work. I especially loved buffet, the hara bhara kabab and vegetable biryani which were perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection. And don't even get me started on the dessert – it was divine! But what really set this restaurant apart for me was the exceptional service. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. They made sure we had everything we needed, and even provided some great recommendations on what to try.Overall, I had an amazing experience at Pind Indian Cuisine and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, everything was top-notch. Thank you to the staff and the chef for making our day so memorable!"
Laura F: Amazing food and beverages and attentive service. Great location and atmosphere. Staff is so welcoming and food is prepared and delivered very quickly. We did have a minor delay in our initial bar order, but it was due to a large party that had just ordered. The bartender more than made up for the delay with a very special treat for our table. Can't wait to go back again!
Sara Meinke: Very nice dinner -Chicken Masala, drinks were delayed due to large wedding party, the manager was apologetic and delivered a round of green tea shots for the table!

Johaun Hassen: I used to live downtown and my only regret is not living closer to Pind! I had an event that took me down close to them, but they are closed at the time I got done (4pm) no matter, bring it to me. Food was still hot packaged properly and DELICIOUS.Lamb chops, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and rice! Not pictured matter paneer for my wife. I love this place!
Lilly Baker: I wish more people knew about this place! I have been several times and it's usually pretty slow. The butter chicken is super good. They also have a weekday lunch buffet that is a great deal. Highly recommend for Indian food in Grand Rapids.
thomas ralston: Authentic!Recommended dishes Chicken Biryani …More
David Kaiser: I go here on a semi-regular basis. The price is a little high, but the food is top notch. I like to try different things on the menu and they never disappoint - so much flavor! Today I had goat curry. At first I thought it was a bad deal because of all the bone, but when I sucked the marrow out I understand why the was so much bone. It was so good I was moaning with satisfaction. The meat was tender and delicious, but the marrow made the dish a step above. They also include basmati rice, unlike some rivals. Definitely a must try. Beware, the heat level is not for an average American palate. If you're unsure, go a spice level down. If you're adventurous, ask for Indian spicy - you'll sweat like your in a sauna, but the delicious flavor cuts through.
KORORION: As the first time I've ever had Indian cuisine, I've gotta say that the CHILLI CHICKEN IS PHENOMENAL absolutely the most delicious thing I've had in awhile, there's so many powerful flavors here , if you love a ROBUST flavor with a hint of sweetness then this is definitely the dish to get here!!10/10 ps. ALWAYS GET EXTra bread or rice (you'll thank me later)
Richard Watson: Visited for lunch. The buffet was well stocked with a variety of foods. I love spicy foods, but my body doesn’t. There were several choices for me. My friends dug in with the spiced items. Everyone had a satisfying meal. How nice is that!? Will be back.
Rachel Mo: Delicious, great recommendations, spot-on service, nice atmosphere. Will go again!
Robert Nordling: I ordered on Door dash and they were 40 minutes late
Tina Benson: I only wish I could give Pind more than 5 stars. The service was top notch, our waitress made sure we had everything we needed. Our glasses were always full and the host checked on us multiple time to make sure everything was great. All of the staff were exceptionally friendly. We loved the ambiance. The restaurant was clean, quiet, and well lit. There was plenty of room between tables, so we didn't feel crowded. The food though! The food was the highlight of the evening. The menu has a such variety to choose from, it was hard to decide but I went with the salmon and tandoori sampler. Everything was perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, wonderfully seasoned and came out simply beautiful. I have tried Indian cuisine at other establishments and enjoyed it but it simply doesn't compare to Pind. If you have not had Indian food before, go to Pind. If you think you have had the best, go to Pind. You will not be disappointed.

Curry Kitchen GR: what do users think?
Maria Hassan: Apparently this restaurant inside the Radisson hotel is now called Taste of India, no longer Curry Kitchen. Just had an incredible dinner here!!! It has been a few years since I've eaten at curry kitchen and it's the first time that I'm at this location. There is plenty of parking. The staff and chef are so incredibly friendly. I ordered the biryani, lamb curry, and butter chicken to go. It was incredible!!! Tasted just like the old school curry kitchen on Fulton. On top of this, it's right on the river so the views are lovely. Highly recommend everyone come check it out.
M Walls: Fast but food was lack luster. Maybe it was a bad day. I'll try it again but it wasn't the best India food in quality. Two years ago I reviewed this place at their old location. Now located in the Radisson, I was still disappointed by this restaurant. The service was little to none existing. I noticed others having to go and ask for service and basic things like cutlery, water, etc. People had dirty plates piled on the tables. Dishes in the "buffet" were 4 curries, plain rice, onion Pokora, and some fruit and veggies with sauces. When asking for more naan, which we thought was included in the buffet and was confirmed by the owner who spent most of his time on his phone, we were told we would be charged extra. Will never come here ever again.Mithu 4309 Kalamazoo Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508, has better service, variety, the owners constantly check on you and are so friendly and what they say are included in the buffet are included in the price. They usually have 14 different items, along with a couple of drinks, and dessert in the buffet. It's further from here which is the sad thing, but willing to make the drive because they don't deserve my hard earn cash. They clearly showed they didn't want or need it, so if you were there on 10/22/2022 after 1pm, make your review to back this up! Thanks!
Debra NAPIERALSKI: The food was very good, so many excellent choices and you can choose your heat on a scale of 0 to 5, I went with 2.5 and my dinner guest went with 0. I loved the view of the Grand River while dining, and the restaurant was so quiet it was very relaxing. I had the Mango Lamb and Naan, and would order it again. I noticed that there were a lot of take out orders, but at 6:00 P M. I was a little worried that we were the only 2 dining, another party of several people came in as we were leaving, I hope this restaurant thrives because good Indian food, especially on my side of town is hard to find. Hopefully I will be back soon.
Ammad Khan: I gave them three stars for food and location only. I have to take one star because they had such poor service that it is better to go somewhere else. And another star because they don’t have halal meat.We went there on Saturday around 6pm with the family and ordered our food by 6:30pm. We got the appetizer in 40 mins and then there was another delay of 40 mins between appetizers and main course. By which time our children have had enough and we had had to hurry.
Abbey Carter: Food is good if you actually get it. Been here for an hour and a half and placed the order two hours ago. No updates just excuses and no refunds. Seriously?? So expensive. If I knew it would take this long for chicken and rice I wouldn't have come.
Stephen Morris: We ate here a couple of weeks ago. The food was excellent. The physical plant was nice. You can get a table next to the Grand River. Unfortunately the wait staff was kind of clueless, certainly not on a par with the food. The food itself would rate 5 stars the wait staff at most 3 stars. With several other Indian restaurants in the area that are outstanding in all respects a return trip might be hard to swing.
Liz Wheeler: Came to check out the new spot after missing you guys for a bit. Food was good and the staff were all kind and attentive. They seem to all keep an eye on guests needs so thats awesome teamwork :) see ya back soon!
Benjamin Zeeuw: I really wish I didn't have to give such a negative review to a local business that is clearly struggling (the place is always empty and they've changed locations several times recently). Their food has always been outstanding, but I had such a negative experience recently that I felt it necessary to share.I ordered carry-out lunch for my staff of 11 people. This was a $300 order with gratuity. After we picked it up and returned to our office we found several items missing. I called and restaurant and after some push back they agreed that they made a mistake some items had been missed. I made a second trip to pick up the missed items and the hostess informed me that they would only be providing me with some of what we were shorted because, "The chef said he made that". I insisted that we were shorted a meal and one of my staff members didn't get a lunch. She just shrugged her shoulders. When I made it clear that I would be leaving the restaurant very unhappy and likely to provide a negative review she said, "not my business".As a customer service representative I would consider this 100% her business. If you mess up my order and make me drive back to your restaurant to get the food you shorted me I would prefer you not call me a liar in the process. I'm not looking to scam anyone. I just want what I paid for. Or, at the very least some consideration for my trouble. It wasn't just the hostess either. The chef made a conscious decision to not replace the dish and instructed her to tell me I didn't deserve it.Even the best Roganjosh is not worth dealing this such terrible customer service. I will not be returning to Curry Kitchen.
Katie Hughes: Don’t waste your time on Tuesdays. We made plans to go try this place, checked the website to confirm open time & then get there to a written note that they are closed on Tuesdays. I get lack of staffing- but update your website & other sites that advertise your business. You wasted our time & two other car loads of individuals we met in the parking lot.
LISA SCHROETER: The tikka masala was wonderful, mild spice was perfect for me. The naan was great too. This place is a hidden gem.
mobley Mobley: Great buffet! Was very happy with the food, nice restaurant with a pleasant view. Will be back.
Daniel Slick: There’s nothing either exceptional or terrible about this place; it’s just decent. The food is quite spicy and the naan bread is delicious.
Kristin Crawley: Update; I had to drop a star. While the food continues to be very good on the buffet, the afternoon staff is just consistently subpar. They sit at a table on their phones and generally pay no attention to the customers. It's quite a shame because it's probably preventing us from coming back.Great buffet for lunch. High quality Indian Food. Would love to see it busier so it stays around! If you like Indian food, it wasn't too try it for the first time a buffet is a great option. Highly recommended.
Kristina Colby: Excellent lunch buffet!! $14/person. And you can order additional items off the full menu if you want. Very vegetarian friendly. YUM.
Daniel S.: i wish i could give a higher rating. The food here is so fantastic, except for the last time I was in. We both ordered the veggie plate, which is all of the vegetarian appetizers. First we noticed that for some reason we were given chicken nuggets in our meal with pakoras. Pakoras were delicious as always, but I didn’t know why a vegetarian menu item would be served with meat especially very hidden in with everything, and why chicken nuggets in an indian restaurant. Thought oh well, i’ll take it off the plate and not eat it, since i don’t eat meat. But then, both of our plates had one of the two samosas with meat in it. Again these were vegetarian samosas on the vegetarian appetizer menu.Just saying for other people avoiding meat-eating, be cautious here. The lychee juice was so good
Vishnu Gokul Krishnamoorthy: We visited this restaurant today(06/20/22) from a long trip. We were hungry so we ordered 10 mins before we arrived as the restaurant's kitchen was about to close. Paula was the receptionist/attender who took our order on the phone. She was so polite and patient in getting our order. After we sat at the table, she instantly bought all the ordered food to the table. There was one Chicken Biriyani yet to arrive. She told she was working on it. Later we heard the bell sound from the kitchen when she was attending another customer. It was from chef Mr. Sunny. She went to the kitchen after addressing the customer. In the kitchen, Sunny started yelling at her as she didn't come there to take the food. She was explaining that she was the only one attending the customers. Also, he didn't make the chicken biriyani that we were waiting for. He argued that he made the food correctly for the order he got and further said the kitchen is closed and he had to leave. Ms. Paula was trying to explain that he did wrong but he was arguing that he was right and he left the kitchen.Later somehow we got our chicken biriyani. We didn't like the chef's attitude towards the attender. He thinks that he's the boss of the restaurant. Such attitude can't be tolerated. Which will weaken the customer affinity towards this restaurant. The food was below average. They should improve better.Place was ambient and organized. Owner should hire chefs with good attitude and better cooking skills.Hope Mr. Owner sees this. Good luck!Parking: Parking was spacious
Jeff Sellers: Shoe leather lamb
Erin Dilley: Best Indian food in Grand Rapids.
Matt Arnett: I ordered take out here as I was craving Indian food. For 3 people the food cost over $20 a person for basic items. They told me it would take 40 minutes, but I arrived and was told to wait longer. When I went to pay they added a mandatory gratuity, even though I was getting take out and had no server. Over priced and slow. We'll find a better option next time.

Qalam Arts: Wonderful Indian restaurant, the butter chicken is better than I've had any where else. The naan is also soft and buttery which can be paired with the grilled kabob plates (also delicious). The paani puri was cold and not the best I've had but everything else was delicious. Bonus points for halal meat!

Francesca Parnham: Tried Indian Masala on a recommendation from a friend after Bombay Cuisine closed. I got take out and the food was up to par with Bombay Cuisine. I ordered naan and tikka masala. The menu is reasonably priced. 4 stars because I would not dine-in. The staff is very friendly but the atmosphere isn’t the cleanest, it’s poorly lit (meaning way too bright) and they do not offer alcoholic beverages. Will be ordering take out again!
Kami Outlaw: Fresh authentic food great blend of spices.
Pratima Khanal: Yummy food😋😋
Pradip Bashyal: Best food in town

Davis Head: My parents got me take out from this place as I am, at the time of writing this review, currently quarantined in my house due to Covid. Although I usually base my restaurant opinions on how the food is on location (since it’s usually more fresh and plated how it’s supposed to be), the *very spicy* chicken tikka masala knocked my socks off with how delicious it was. It had a great balance between unique, savory flavor and challenging spice level. The meat was plentiful and tasted fresh and tender, while the rice I poured the curry over was light, soft and delicious. I also got the tandoori roti for some side bread, which I thought complemented the meal very well. It looked and tasted just like fresh, whole wheat bread that I would have baked at home! Overall this was an extremely satiating and satisfying meal that left me with a smile on my face and a happy tummy. I would definitely recommend Indian masala to anyone who eats food and I intend to eat from here again, hopefully in person next time! 9/10
GG Taruc: Apparently, no more buffet ☹️ please bring your buffet back.
Lee Marvin: Tasty food, but tiny portions for the price. In most Indian restaurants, buying extra bread gives you extra bread. Here, the portion was barely enough for one person. Also, we ordered two entrées and the portion of rice was enough for only one entrée. I guess covid cost cutting is alive and well here! Sadly, no value here other than being close to home.
Markus Schmermund: Great foodFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 3/5 …More
Kathi Mayer: We have been going there for over a year now on a frequent basis. It's been really good but lately there has been a new staffing and service and food has changed a bit. It's still good but it's not all the same anymore. I'd still recommend it, it's good food and we still like going there.Food: 4/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
JP Singh: As a native, I'd like to think I know what good puniabi/indian food tastes like. The food here is garbage, and the service was even worse. Our food came out either bland, or way overseasoned. The chicken 65 was tough, the gobi Manchurian was burned and salted until it was unedible, the butter chicken was nothing but cream... Need I go on? I had to go up to the staff and manager multiple times just to place orders. Even tho we had a big group, we were given next to no attention, and that's not because they were super busy. The manager would just sit down and be on his phone instead of attending to his customers, and the rest of the staff clearly followed his lead. We will not be returning.
Kathy Lentner: Fantastic food but the waiter was not very attentive. Had to ask 5 times for certain items and order 3 entres` with rice for 1. Wasn't impressed with the service at all but food was deliciousFood: 5/5|Service: 2/5|Atmosphere: 4/5 …More
Jason Boogholt: We do carry out from here pretty regularly. IMHO it’s the best in town. Can’t go wrong with butter chicken and naan, but I always love the tandoori chicken too. It’s so good I order extra to take with me for lunch later in the week!
Lauren Elaine: Indian Masala is one of my go-to restaurants in this area. I NEVER walk away disappointed. The food is delicious, the service is fast and polite, and the restaurant itself is always pristine with a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere, even when they’re busy.My go-to dish is the muglai lamb. It’s rich and tender every time. Oh! And definitely have the gulab jamun if you have a sweet tooth! It’s a real treat!

Pal's Indian Cuisine: what do users think?
Lori Browning: I tried this restaurant on the recommendation of a friend and I'm so glad I did. I asked for his favorite dishes and I tried them all. Garlic Naan, Samosas, Chicken Biryani, Prawn Vindaloo and Goat Vindaloo. All were delicious and spicy. I like that you can have the spice catered to your liking. 5 was perfect! I will be returning to try many other things that they offer. Do yourself a favor and if you're buying samosas for two people, get 2 orders. You'll want another one after you try the first one! Flaky crust, soft fluffy inside. So good!
Jody Bowen: Garlic Naan and butter chicken were outstanding. Definitely recommend
Daniel Schumaker: I have some pretty high standards for Indian food thanks to my Indian coworkers. I have to say Pal's does a great job and delivering delicious food at a fair price in a timely manner. They also have some relatively authentic options and a diverse selection of protein. My go-to for Indian food is goat but it's hard to find places that sell goat in West Michigan. I'm glad to see that Pal's offers goat in a wide variety of options. If you're new to Indian food I'd recommend getting the butter chicken, it's creamy, not too sweet, and delicious. I personally recommend their saag goat, that is my favorite dish alongside the methi goat. Methi is a little like butter curry but more spices and a more complex flavor. Saag is a spinach based curry with a subtle cumin undertone. All of those are great options. And of course, be careful how spicy you ask for, I usually do 7 out of 10 which is hot but not so hot that you're nose is runny. 10/10 will put tears in your eyes. Enjoy :)
Sarah Ann Willhite: Amazing food, but menu pricing is off by $4... just keep that in mind when ordering. Definitely the best Indian place in the area tho
Neal Halverson: Very good Indian cuisine
Maria Hurd: The good was amazing. Fantastic flavor. Recommend to everyoneFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 4/5Recommended dishes Kheer, Samosa …More
Ashley Thompson: Great food! I've ordered several times and I love that I can expect the items to be prepared the same way each time. Try this place you won't be disappointed.
Raj Parmar: If there is any option ,I could have give zero stars.I ordered Punjabi sabji ,appetizers, Lassi, etc The rice which came along the sabji is chewy and undercooked and after eating sabji we had stomach upset and vomiting. I don't know if it's stale or frozen since long ,Lassi was so watery and not so good in taste .The dips with appetizers was very less and not so good ,we also ordered chicken which was smelling raw.Vegetarian options: Less vegetarian options and not so tasty
BDGR Manager: Our favorite Indian Cuisine!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5 …More
Jeff Carlson: Very good food!Food: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5 …More
Arunkumar Sundaram: Ordered chicken biryani via Uber eats and sorry to say it is a one kind of Disaster quality of food with no taste, half cooked rice and chicken and No resemblance or matching for the word chicken Briyani- called the restaurant to gave feedback but they sounded least bothered about customer feedback- will never recommend to anyone 😔
James White: Food was okay but shocked by the dirty toiletsFood: 3/5|Service: 4/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Debbie White: Wouldn't go there again. I wish I had checked out the restrooms before ordering, they were very dirty. Place is out dated.Food: 3/5|Service: 3/5|Atmosphere: 1/5 …More
Gregory Fritz: Delicious. One of the best Indian Restaurants in Grand Rapids hands down. Butter chicken and Tula Masala 👌👌Recommended dishes Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken …More
Penny Raap: I could eat here every day. The food is superb and I love that they come all on dishes that you can share. The bread, oh, I have no written words to describe how delicious it truly is. I was a bit bummed when I woke up and all I had seen was the tinfoil on the counter with no more bread. I guess I will have to go back so I can chow down on food I already know is great.
Jelly Girl: I personally cannot get enough of the lamb vindaloo. I find myself asking my bf to order this weekly. 🤦🏽‍♀️The food is always so fresh and flavorful. You cannot go wrong with the garlic naan and raita to give your palette a refresher. We have had them delivered and had take out and our meals have always been hot and ready to be eaten. If you have never been here you are missing out on a real gem.
Flawlessly Finished: Everything was delicious as usualFood: 5/5|Service: 5/5|Atmosphere: 5/5Recommended dishes Chicken Vindaloo, Garlic Naan, Samosa, Butter Chicken, Goat Curry, Roti …More
Adarsh Shetty: This is a great place! We love the food and service! We enjoy eating here
Mike Sabo: Food was phenomenal, besides the curry sauce in the chicken was not creamy at all but the meatball curry was. However, for the price, the amount of food was pretty pathetic.
Marti Martinez: I could stay here all day enjoying the smell of all the spices. The food is amazing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning. If you have never tried Indian food your missing out it is very flavorful. Get on over to Pal’s Indian Cuisine.Recommended dishes Garlic Naan, Butter Chicken, Masala Tikka …More
Phu Pham: Terrible Chicken Vindaloo. The sauce taste like tomato purée with a few spices added. It lacked body, flavor, and robustness. Under salted and bland. Chicken was all white meat that was dry and over cooked. Bonus freezer burn taste too! Their Medium is Hell Fire HEAT. Stay away!

Bombay Cuisine: what do users think?
T.J. Taylor: R.I.P. to a real one
Kris Shannon: Delicious food as always, sorry to see it go. Truly the end of an era!
Atokad Erad: Placed an order 2 hours ahead of pickup time. Order was canceled 10 minutes before pickup time and not a single person in the store could tell me why they cancelled my order and this it was “doordash’s” fault.
Angel Rose: Recommended dishes Cheese NaanMore
Crystal Steverson: Placed online order and went to pick it up but didn’t receive the full order. Called and they apologized for the problem and explained that at times when placing an order online the full order doesn’t always come through. Had to drive 20 minutes back to get the remainder of the order and was not offered any complimentary item or recompense for the inconvenience. As far as the food it was just okay. Not bad but not good enough for me to go back.
Selah Joy: This was the most amazing flavors. It was like an explosion of the most unique wonderful flavors I have ever tasted. definitely will come back. The food was absolutely chefs kiss! We got Tika masala and butter chicken both where amazing the butter chicken definitely had more flavors going on but both where so good. Thank you so much for this amazing experience trying Indian cuisine.
Shelley Kaur: Very nice service , food is good. I tried Murg methi.
Gurinder Singh: Very nice service 👌 and food is very tasty
Jared Hauck: This is an update from a previous 5 star review from 2012. This place used to be good years ago, but has sadly gone downhill. The food is still pretty decent, but the service is horrendous. I do feel bad as they were obviously understaffed, but for high prices like they charge, they need to make it worth it to the consumer. To add insult to injury, we were charged an 'upcharge' on our bill without explanation. When we asked the waiter about this mysterious charge he said it was due to food costs being higher. Why was this not communicated with us beforehand? It was not even mentioned on our menu. The waiter brought a menu from a neighboring table that had a temporary sticker on the back with the upcharge listed, but ours did not. He did apologize, but did not offer to remove the charge. The service was also in general horrible. We were given the wrong food and waited the whole meal to get our waters refilled. Unfortunately, we will not be able to recommend this place any longer.
Neha Amble: Great indian food. Good quality and quantity. Rogan Josh is a must try. Variety of vegetarian dishes available.
Aubrey Kroes: Had a great experience last night! Food was so flavorful, the waitress was very pleasant. Sat outside and it was lovely.
Emma Green: I used to love this place. However, it seems to be going downhill. The food was just okay this time, nothing to write home about. Then when I went to eat my naan I found a hair baked in. We called to let them know and they told me they didn’t believe me but I could get a free order of Naan if we wanted next time we come in. Eventually they said they would mail a gift card for an unspecified amount.Beware of their prices. Even though the menu claims one price, they add “up charges” for meat. This is not stated anywhere on the menu. Seems very shady that Buttered Chicken gets an up charge for having Chicken even though Chicken is in the name.Very sad, this used to be my favorite Indian food in town, I guess I will have to go searching for a new favorite. I’m open to any suggestions!
Mary Frank-Murphy: Food is great, as always. We are so glad to be back after a few years. The service was disappointing. Waitress was very nice but we had to wait for our check and then to pay for a half hour. She seemed to disappear. Seems that they need more staff in the kitchen.
David Kaiser: Quoted 30-35 min. Waited almost an hour. Only 6 tables in the restaurant. Couldn't make me a martini. Helo? Bombay sapphire? Will go to Pind next time.
Jeff Van Beck: Great brewery and restaurant
Howard Smlth: Very good authentic Indian cuisine.
catcat: I've always had mixed feelings about Bombay Cuisine. Bombay has some great reviews, and their food is good, but as someone who has traveled around and eaten a lot of spicy food, it does feel like Bombay caters to individuals with a midwest palette. If you are a spice champion and ask for spice, expect the food to be mild, at most. If you dislike spice, and are looking to venture into Indian food, this is a great place to start. I'm curious as to what region in India the owners are from because the dishes are different than what one would expect. I taste a lot of ginger and sweetness and not too much spice or tanginess in their dishes. Although there are Indian restaurants in Grand Rapids that I would say might be better, Bombay Cuisine holds a space in my heart. Growing up in Grand Rapids, there was never any accessible south Asian food - the food at Bombay was one of my first experiences with Indian food, which is now my favorite cuisine. As someone who has gotten older, traveled quite a bit and eaten quite a lot of Indian food, Bombay still holds a space in my heart because it feels like home in a way. I also think it's super cool that they have merged with East West brewing - you don't have many chances to grab a craft beer and eat Indian food in the same sitting, so I love it!
No L Castro: What a great place!! The food and service was on point!
Mike V: 1st time patron, staff very helpful with menu and meal selection. Looking forward to returning!
Ms. Gray: Yummy food with dietary allergy selection and big servings
Bradley Smith: Used to go here a lot when I lived in GR. It was my wife’s birthday and I ordered online for pickup at the restaurant. I wanted to heat it up the next day for her birthday dinner. I was missing an entree and the chutney. I called and they couldn’t refund me as they said I needed to contact door dash. I filled out the “problem with your order” link at the bottom of my confirmation email and never heard anything. My wife ate one of the entrees and I ate the other and she ended up with a very bad case of food poisoning. Basically the opposite of what I was intending for her birthday dinner. I had to throw out all of the leftovers. The following week I stopped into Bombay Cuisine to tell them about the food poisoning and to see if I could get a refund for my missing items. They said that it wasn’t possible that she got food poisoning from their food and that I couldn’t get a refund for my missing items. Not even offering to just take cash out of the register to make it right. They essentially told me that they didn’t have my money and door dash did. Unfortunately they’ve lost me as a customer.
