Chelsea Kirby: This is the preferred Field’s Fabrics location. Customer service is great, they have an excellent selection and often times have things in the outlet building at great prices, that are still retail price at other Field’s locations. We went to three of the ones in the area when my mom was in town today, we picked up a beautiful fabric from the outlet building for $2.37/yard. At the Jenison location we saw the same fabric for $4.97/yard. Check out the outlet building first! Well worth it!

Charles Tisron: Needed a 2x2 foot 4 inch thick foam rubber piece for my aging dogs bed. The woman that helped me was quick efficient really nice. I was shocked at how much foam rubber costs. But she told me right away that it was a lot more expensive than people realized. But my dog deserves a comfortable bed and the stuffing that was in the Kong brand bed got all mashed to the side. Dexter my 100 lb. yellow lab is happy, so I'm happy

Sherry Rainer: I've shopped at Fields for 25 years and today may have been my last visit. When I entered the store at 5:15 I was immediately told by the two customer service women who were just standing around (obviously waiting to leave) that I only had 15 minutes to get what I needed. Now, it's not like it's a restaurant where I was showing up expecting to have a 2 hour sit down meal. They made it obvious that their main goal was to get out of there at 5:30,(Which one of them even said to me).They did help me and worked together to get me what I needed and I left at 5:28, but the atmosphere was uncomfortable and very off-putting from a customer's perspective. I felt like I was just an intrusion that was getting in their way. I've worked retail for many years and would never treat someone like that, even if it meant I would stay after work a few minutes to help them. If you're open until 5:30, that means a customer can walk in at 5:29 and expect to be helped. Please teach your staff to be nicer to people when they come in. If I'm unreasonable, let me know and I will respond accordingly.

Lauren DePree Andersh: This is one of my usual Field's locations, mostly because it's convenient for me. It is a good store! There is SO much fabric, so much to choose from. Usually it's great, sometimes a bit overwhelming. You definitely have to dig a bit more for what you're looking for, but they really have a lot of beautiful stuff!This location does seem to be busy most times I stop in. Somedays that means a little less help or waiting a bit to check out, but that being said, I've never not had good customer service!

Needless to say, my dad did not purchase anything from here after being treated like that, after driving an hour to get there. People like that should not be working in the public. Employees who were working through our the store were not very kind but the tall skinny brunette working the counter was very sweet. DO NOT use the bathrooms here!!!!! I could not believe how dirty the bathroom was! I can certainly understand being busy and short staffed but there was dark thick dust on the toilet seat covers container, the stall doors, dirt all over the floors and walls. I would have felt more comfortable in a gas station bathroom in all honesty! Besides that if you need fabric and no potty breaks this is your place!

Sarah Personke: This is a lengthy review, but something I wish I would have read before selecting a seamstress for my alterations.I originally messaged her on January 11 about my dress. We scheduled the first appointment that day for January 17. At the appointment, we discussed doing the dress in chunks (starting with straps, waist, and chest area and then doing hem and bustle).I came back for an appointment March 21 per her timing recommendation. This delay between appointments was fine, as we discussed having this appointment and then a final pick up late April/early May before wedding. At this second appointment, the chest hadn’t been touched. The outer beaded layer was cut off in pieces (expected to make alterations, not a problem), straps were loosely pinned. Once again talked about chest alterations and straps at this appointment, which were discussed at the first appointment.Came back for a third appointment on March 31. Less than two hours before my appointment I got a phone call asking if I had rescheduled. We hadn’t even talked since my last visit, so I certainly didn’t reschedule. I told her I did not and she asked for pictures of the front of my dress. I sent them immediately. She then called and asked where my dress was from (seemed odd, as the dress bag has the name of the store on it, but no big deal). I then get to the appointment and chest had been adjusted, but pads were completely taken out. Straps still not done, beaded outer layer still not back on dress. We talked about adding bra pads back in, strap adjustments (again..), and hem.I then came back for a fourth appointment on April 10. When we arrived, she asked us to wait 5-10 minutes as she was still working on the dress. Cups were still not back in dress, which we then discussed AGAIN at this appointment. Straps still pinned and not done. Beaded layer back on and hem done, but there were clear “white” areas on chest where the beading was not properly reapplied. Discussed fixing this. Bustle was also discussed at this appointment. I then came back for what was instructed to be final fitting on April 26. She had said it was a two hour appointment at 4 pm. Received a text at 2:45 pm before my 4 pm appointment asking to move appointment to 5 pm. I had to work at 7, so confirmed timing as again, I was told it was a 2 hour appointment. She said now it is only 50-60 minutes total so I’d be out in time. Odd to change timing of appointment by one hour less, but okay. Arrived at 4:55 and she said please sit down and wait, as she was finishing up dress. Sat down and waited while she did my dress alterations until 5:20 pm. It was CLEAR that she moved the appointment because she hadn’t worked on the dress until now, and she still wasn’t done. The bra cups were not in, after having discussed this at every single appointment. She did address bra cups today and added them in before we left. Had some minor detail things to fix up, which she did for the most part at this visit.Ultimately, the dress turned out okay but it isn’t perfect. When I asked about a few things at the final fitting that I was unhappy with (straps and some detail beading that was removed and added back), it was met a bit defensively and she said at one point “well what do you want me to do”. I’ll have to tape the straps on, as they just fall off the shoulder otherwise, and tape down part of the top so my chest doesn’t show from the side. This was hands down the most stressful part of my wedding planning process thus far. She clearly has done well for others in the past, but I wanted to be transparent with my experience so that others, especially baseline anxious brides, are aware!Service:Wedding gown alterations

When we arrived for the final fitting, we waited over 40 minutes while Olena sewed. The hooks on the train for the bustle bunched, and the dress's lining showed when bustled. Olena had me (MOB) video her showing me how to pin my daughter's silk gown so the lining didn't show. The bigger problem was she took up the straps too much, making the armholes so small the armhole left red marks in the armpits. Olena told her my daughter she was just bloated. Material saved from the hem had to be added to the straps and the lace patched by another seamstress, who said the straps were indeed taken up far too much. We also had to remove the bustle as the photographer expressed concern the bunching on the train would show in photos. I suspect she is a good seamstress who was just too busy, but blaming the too small armholes on "bloating" and the hastily done bustle did not make us comfortable with taking the dress back to her to be fixed.

Meghan McGhan: Olena did a great job on my wedding dress. She tightened straps, added a bustle, and sewed on my wedding belt for me! Her prices were reasonable and my dress was done in about 2 weeks. Marrissa Penney: I'm finally at a point in my life where I can share this and not cry about it. I'll start off and say this, I've had an eating disorder since 2015ish. I also got married during COVID in December 2020. It was already an extremely stressful time, I was in a deep depression because I was constantly changing plans/canceling vendors, etc. and what was supposed to be the "best day of my life" was turning into a nightmare. I was at the lowest point in my life that I've ever been mentally. I went to Olena because I heard good things, my sister used her and a few others used her and had good things to say. First appt was fine, no complaints. When I went back for one of my other appts, Olena mentioned the fact that I "looked bigger" from the last time she saw me. It had been a few months because of COVID- the city was completely shut down. When I left that appt she had me in tears telling me that "I need to lose 5 inches". I starved myself and ate extremely strict and obsessed over food before my last fitting, was so stressed I was puking at work because I didn't want to put my own wedding dress on in fear I'd hate my body even more than I already did. At my last appt I put the dress on, in tears once again, as Olena commented on my weight mentioning how I needed to lose "inches to make it fit better". The dress fit in the end, Olena did a great job with the alterations but I left this whole experience hating my own wedding dress because I couldn't help but feel like I needed to lose "a few more inches" so it fit better. Overall, I was extremely disappointed by how it was handled and wouldn't recommend Sewing Cinderella to anyone. I appreciate the alterations being done and the time spent on my dress, but feeling anything less than beautiful on your wedding day isn't something I'd sacrifice to save some money.Service:Wedding gown alterations

Gretchen Stein: Olena did a fabulous job with the alterations needed for my wedding dress. Sewing on drop sleeves, adding cups and a bustle made my dress fit perfectly. She also helped secure some boning that was starting to poke through on the dress. She was fast, efficient and top notch in her craft. I highly recommend her!
