I ordered here 4-5 times in the last six months from Uber Eats, and every single time it has arrived my food has been cooked perfectly and still warm! This is an amazing feat, because I live on the NE side. They take great care of their takeout packaging as well. They use tin foil to keep the food warm. Every single time I have been here except for one, this is what I've ordered. It's two fried pork chops smothered in their beef gravy, which is made in-house. Absolutely delicious. Very flavorful. These will definitely make you hurt yourself from over-eating if you're not careful. Definitely like how mama used to make!𝐌𝐚𝐜 '𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞I'm very picky with most mac 'n cheese. It reminds me of Kraft Instant Mac 'n Cheese if it's not done right. This has not been one of those times. Their baked mac 'n cheese is made with cavatappi noodles, which is a perfect vessel for their cheese sauce. Also comes topped with bread crumbs. Absolutely delicious. It is definitely home cooked.𝐋𝐨𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐝 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐞𝐬This is definitely a must-try dish! Honestly, between this and the mac 'n cheese, I would come here just for those two things. Their loaded mash comes with a house blend of cheeses and then it is topped off with bacon, and then baked in the oven! The mashed potatoes are creamy while the cheese and bacon is not overpowering. A great side to any meal they offer.𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐠 𝐐𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬These were not my favourite, but to no fault of the cooks! The chicken was very juicy and it fell off the bone because it was so tender. I just think the seasoning isn't my forte.𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐃𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠I really liked this! It is made with house-made chicken broth and then toasted. The only thing missing from that is a side of gravy! Yum.𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐍𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐬The portion sizes here are absolutely HUGE! I usually have one meal last me all day and still have enough for a second day if I can restrain myself from eating it all in one sitting. Their cornbread (which you get with every meal) is really tasty and it reminds me of having dessert. You get all of your drinks from a standard 12oz can, which I love. It's name-branded as well. For water, they give you some of the best; Ice Mountain Spring Water. If I had the money, I would totally buy from Great Giant Supermarket every single day. Hats off to the chefs, keep on cooking because it's some of the best soul food in Grand Rapids!

I would have never expected this quality level of food out of a counter kitchen. Daniel Schumaker: Family Fare is always more expensive than Meijer, so you might ask, why even bother with this place? Well the staff is excellent, super nice. Jarod the cashier is always there and is always friendly. There are other staff members that have also been really friendly but I don't know them by name so I can't rep them here. Also I like their honey crisp apples much much more than Meijer over on the Beltline. 100% better quality fruit. Their chicken wings are absolutely perfect as well, much better quality than Meijer. Also believe it or not they generally have more international goods available than Meijer, which is great for me because I love cooking foreign foods. So overall I shop for some things here that are better quality or are more available, but shop at Meijer for the goods that are the same quality no matter what, because they are substantially cheaper there. Overall I do recommend shopping here, but just make sure you're hitting up a cheaper store for the bulk of your groceries and treat yourself to some better quality ingredients when you come here.

Michael Greiner: It was one thing to reduce hours during and coming out of pandemic....but we are a couple years past re-opening things. Not being 24 hours is absolutely awful for those of us who work bar industry and entertainment industry late night. We can't grocery shop anymore without interrupting our sleep-work schedules.Corporate trying to save a buck since pandemic isn't an excuse. A whole industry of people in this city can't properly grocery shop anymore because you close before we are often ready to go shopping on a day off so we feel rushed. And aren't open when we get out of work. Sleep-work schedules for lots of us aren't conducive to your preference towards 9-5 workers. I'm absolutely not the only one.I figured being patient and letting time go by since pandemic ended, we would see a return to the normal we remember and expect. Instead reduced hours happened.Please fix this. There isn't anywhere in Grand Rapids to shop between midnight and 6am anymore. And there's a large amount of people in this city working late night bar time service industry who aren't served by this.

Ann Hackney: Family fare focuses alit of their advertising on digital coupons however their machine never is working. This makes it harder on chasier who isnt always happy to look up the info. They Really need to get this fixed.

They go out of their way to help and even bag my groceries. Today I had some unfortunate technical difficulties and Jarred at self check-out was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. He went way above and beyond to make sure it all went smoothly and make sure everything rang up correctly and the rewards went in correctly, etc. He really made what could have been a frustrating experience good because of his kindness and patience. Thank you thank you Jarred. I greatly appreciate it.

Inside the store you’ll find a renowned butcher case that a come to a few times during the summer for bbq meats, sausages and other goodies. They have also an olive bar and cheese case. Also nice produce and specialty packaged food items. And much, much, much more.

Kari Hicks: This place is such a gem! My fiancé and I are both foodies, and love to cook, and this is our go-to store for inspiration. As soon as you walk in you’re hit with delicious smells, and the mesmerizing wall of chocolate covered goodies, and candies. The best part is the fantastic meat counter! Friendly, outstanding service every time. Hands down, the BEST homemade breakfast sausage links around, a variety of jerky sticks, huge stuffed pork chops, and if they have the whole smoked chickens, grab one! I was also thrilled to find Cavendish & Harvey hard candies from Germany…a favorite of mine from my childhood. We also love the selection of individually wrapped buns/croissants, and cake slices from Sugar Momma’s Bakery.

I used to love coming here for their meat market in the back, but this is just plain getting ripped off, and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I do understand that smaller stores are typically more expensive, but paying 60-70% more for something so basic is a tad absurd. Can't say I will shop here again unfortunately.

When I asked I was told the bakery manager had been promoted and the new one doesn’t know how to make donuts! What? A bakery manager that doesn’t know how to make the product much less manage the bakery? Not certain I’ve ever heard anything so stupid. The Peter Principle at it’s finest. Is this going to be the death keel of D&W like their sister store Family Fare?The Russell Stover rack has not been replenished for at least six weeks. I buy sugar free chocolates for a friend and I haven’t found them since well before Christmas. They also had a special on the Russell Stover boxed candy. Buy one- get one free. And there were none.I haven’t found the small cans of V-8 for weeks. Often they are out of Diet Coke. I could go on and on. Most of this has been the norm long before COvid. But the lack of donuts was the final straw. They have become similar to a poorly stocked 7/11. I expect way more from Spartan Nash. And now a year later not much better. Tons of donuts but not a chocolate one to be found.

They have a wide variety of usual groceries; however, the prices are a bit more compared to places like Meijer. Great selection of gluten free foods. Butcher is very good. Produce is fine The highlight of Michigan-produced foods helps people wanting to support local businesses. Johnathan Bright: I will no longer be doing my shopping at Bridge Street Market. I was so happy when a legit grocery store came to the West Side, but this place is becoming a joke. You start charging people for bags and now even having customers have to push a button just to get a receipt, but you can't keep the shelves stocked. There has never been a time when there weren't 2-3 items on my list that I couldn't pick up because the spot on the shelves is empty. That, and when you do have people stocking, it's during the busiest time of day, in your tiny store that's hard enough to walk around when busy anyway.

Bill McNair: This is a really cool and unique grocery store. You won't find the name on the building, but it's owned and operated by Meijer. So you get the pricing, selection and value of the Meijer brand. It was does have that boutique market feel though. Very well set up. It's not a department store. No garden center or home improvement for example.

Sheri Monroe: It's wonderful to have a full market/grocery store on the west side! I love the covered parking - makes it so much easier to get in and out with the kids if it's raining or snowing. They have a wide variety of items and lots of unique things that can be hard to find elsewhere. Their prices are competitive for the most part. The convenience is great! We love Bridge St Market!
