I went to this store with my little sister and brother and they had so many great toy options that we bought so many more toys than we thought we originally planned lol. Not to mention the great customer service and helpfulness of the staff working there. A++++ I’m usually an introvert, but it felt really comforting and fun to be there which made me feel a lot less shy than I usually am with speaking to staff. Also don’t forget to try out the animal rides they have! Both my siblings enjoyed it and you can ride it with the kids too so it’s definitely worth it if you get tired from walking around the mall the whole time and want to take a break!

nitrowrench79: Came in on a Sunday afternoon to return a toy for my son. I didn't know the mall didn't open until 12 so we waited next door and played video games. I checked at 12:05 and the doors were still closed and lights off. Checked again at 12:15 and it looked like they were getting ready to open but lights still off. I know people run late sometimes getting to work, but come on, its noon on a Sunday. The staff is friendly, but I don't plan on coming back. There are other options for toys, including the Target at 28th/I-96.

Then after they are no longer busy they both walk away from me to help other customers that were clearly their friends. Probably won’t come back to this location after this experience.

MASSIVE selections of gunpla, and tons of Pokémon and general anime figures, plushies and cards. If you’re visiting out of town and never been here and are an anime fan, this is a mandatory mark on your to-visit list

The staff were also really helpful.Just wish they gave box toppers with a free (cheap quality) sleeve to protect it on the way home. Carrying the raw card home was a little concerning, but it made we safe.

Jon Shomali: Upon entering Galactic Toys for the first time, my excitement to browse the board game section was deterred by the smell of bodily musk. A smell that was frighteningly similar to that of the MSU Engineering Building. There were many people in the store, so I decided to just put my mask on and continue shopping. I found their board game section to be sufficient and chose to purchase a strategy game called Décorum. During this process, the person working at the cash register asked if I wanted to make a rewards account. I agreed and gave him my first and last name. He then proceeded to mutter something under his breath, so I asked him what he said. He then asked where my last name was from. I told him I am from Palestine. He continued the conversation by telling me about how he had friends online from India. Palestine and India are two different countries, so this felt off putting and confusing. For the remainder of my time in the store he yelled out names of cities in India to me, even after the transaction had ended and as I walked out the door. I felt extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. The employee that interacted with me at Galactic Toys displayed microaggressions and blatant inappropriate behavior. Despite my love of board games, I will not be returning to this store. There are more inclusive and welcoming board game retailers who also host community game nights, such as House Rules.

Toxic: The whole experience was ruined by very rude employees. If their not ignoring you they cut you off to ask about a " party " thier co workers going to. Took 45 min to ask 3 things cause thier more worried about each other and their personal lives then customers.

A: This is a long review but it is genuine and should be of high interest to anyone who is thinking about going here to purchase Pokemon cards.I wil say they do have a lot of options to pick from if you are going with intent of purchasing Pokemon, Magic, or other types of card games. Their inventory is always pretty nice.However! Tread with caution if you are going to purchase things that they have behind the counter that is not factory sealed. Pokemon to be specific since that is what I would go for. Any individual packs purchased are 99% likely to be weighted. I'm so sure of this because I have purchase a fair share and they have always been the code cards that indicate there is nothing inside the pack. A friend has also had this experience. The only reason I do not say 100% likely is because I haven't seen them do it but the evidence is there. I've purchased a factory sealed Evolving Skies ETB that did have an alt art Espeon in it, that's why I say if it is factory sealed you should be good to go. When I purchased the Evolving Skies ETB the gentleman I dealt with was nice, but he did let it slip that they get their individual packs from promo boxes that they open which also makes me inclined to believe that they weigh them and then put the duds out for the public to purchase. Bottom line: Do not purchase individual packs from this store, you will be highly disappointed.My second and more important point is that I went in with the intention of getting a quote for trading in some cards for store credit. My local store often gives me about 75-80% for in store credit because I go multiple times a week and they know what I bring in is valuable. They were a bit dry so I went here to check what they would offer and what they had available.This place offers a humiliating "60% store credit", less if you sell. Besides that, I brought in a Gold Arceus vstar ($130+ card at the time), Deoxys vstar, and Deoxys vmax + some other less notable cards. These cards total at the time would have a retail value of a little under $200. They offered me $80 for everything. For reference, this same stack plus a couple other small cards got me $150 at my local shop.I had the cards sleelved and in hard cases. The girl who handled my cards took them out of the cases, out of the sleeves and STACKED them on top of eachother and was sliding them around on top of each other as if they were a bunch of commons. She also walked away with them all like this, risking dropping them.DO NOT bring valuable cards to this place, they will handle them like they are worth nothing and then offer you basically nothing for them. After you purchase individual packs from them and get nothing for 10+ packs the girl says 'well I had to buy 20 before I got anything' as if that's helpful. She clearly doesn't actualy know what she is doing. The young teenager at my local shop handles cards with grace and eloquence because he understands the value of what he is handling.2 stars because they do have a lot to pick from on top of trading cards and they do have factory sealed stuff and some hard to find things.-1 star for weighing packs.-1 star for mishandling of customer belongings.-1 star because the employee doesnt know what she is doing.

Taylor Beal: Went for a little thrift adventure and came across this place walking in I thought wow this place is pretty cool. The owner was nice at first walking in, talked pretty nicely I was there looking around looking at books for awhile and then he started venting about how people come in and spend 20 minutes looking at stuff and not buying anything(granted I didn’t buy anything) because of the way he made me feel after I was ready to go. Making comments about my hands in my pockets as if I was stealing or something and trying to make me buy something out of pity I assume. I don’t wish anything bad on him and I know running a business can be hard but do not make acquisitions about you customers if they do not buy anything and are just looking. Don’t think I will be back for a while. I’m a very sensitive person especially when I am accused of something I did not do. So I cried after I got home. I didn’t not appreciate how I was treated after I spent 20 minutes in the store. I don’t normally write reviews but it just made me upset to feel treated that way at a thrift store. Since those are a sanctuary to me. All in all it’s a nice store with cool items some a little bit overpriced in my opinion, I would recommend going with a friend just so don’t feel as sad about the customer service. I feel very bad that I feel the need to write this review. But words and acquisitions hurt. Giving it 2 stars because the store itself is cool. But they way I felt after leaving 0 stars.

He spoke to my 6 month old and filled my husband and me in on what he's doing to get the place up and running how he wants. And of course there were some real treasures in his store. I found a lovely pillbox hat from the 60s and my husband found a signed copy of a Gladiator VHS.We tried to go back a couple weeks ago but even though the hours were listed as Open, the door was locked and the lights were off. That won't deter us, though. We'll definitely try again!

I was unfortunately put off when I was told that he didn't have the time to listen to any more questions I had to ask him so to say my experience was all bad is unfair and I won't do that. I will.say though having had a rather extensive past in customer service myself that no matter the opinion of the customer a shop.and all it's employees should strive to make everyone feel.as if they mean the world to you. I feel like the attitude there was that he just wasn't interested in my business was annoyed by my presence and he seemed to hover around half way through my viewing of the place like he was fearful of me being a threat to the shop for some reason..I want to hope that my next visit would have been more pleasent but after a comment like the one made to me I don't think I will be going back to this shop again and won't recommend it to any future possible patrons I come by..I hope this review will help the shop further it's customer interactions to a positive note in the future and I wish them all the best in their venture. Everyone is allowed a bad day so I only hope I caught this man on one and he isn't normally that rude with someone asking him about how his business is done via a customers stand point..

Isaac: It’s going to take some trust on your part. However set aside some time and go here. I can not stress this enough that it is a complete experience to go here and it’s always worth it. Not sure of the owners name but he’s the nicest guy in the world (not usually sober) however he’s always excited to talk about his collection. Great spot to take a date or just kill some time.
