Urology Surgeons, PC: what do users think?
Ron Vander Lind: My first time there, very impressed with all the attention to my issue needs. Dr Lobo has my trust and the staff all seemed professional and dedicated to the well being of the patients. Going back.
Denny Beck: I had excellent results after laser reduction of my prostate by Dr. Kuntzman. All systems are truly "go," and nighttime bathroom visits are typically down to one and sometimes none. Dr. Kuntzman combines advanced knowledge and skill with a genuine interest in patient welfare and progress. He responds to MyChart messages as promptly as possible and is always thorough and concise. I am grateful my primary care doctor referred me to him.
Dan Korhorn: Dr Mander connects with his patients at a personal level which gives significant reassurance and in turn helps healing. Very honest and positive approach in treatment is a rarity in the highly commercialized, money driven medical monopoly in Grand Rapids that is Spectrum Health. I was treated by Dr Mander after 14 months of fighting with a different, inattentive ufology office. I was seen, diagnosed and surgery was performed in a 2 week period. I must admit he is one of the best. My only irritants were with some office policies and the front desk attendant. Signs everywhere tell visitors to wear a mask because its the law. It was never a law. Ever. In addition, I did not appreciate being barked at about masks by said front desk assistant while she herself never not wore one in all 4 of my visits to the office. However, as far as care goes, this office delivers on all fronts. Independence from the big corporate medical groups is very refreshing. While I hope to not need to go back, if anything else occurs, this will be my first choice.
Angie Fleming: Not the most welcoming office. The front desk employee was very rude to another patient. The PA I saw was very nice but the environment is very cold, didn’t seem like anyone had the compassionate side of the medical world. I never even saw the doctor who performed my surgery.
Thomas Crawford: its a good place.......its a doctors office...expect to wait.. but they're fine. Dr Markian is pretty cool and very steady.
Ron Hayward: Very professional and thorough! I would recommend him!!! I don't understand the negative comments here?
Dennis Merryman: Very professional and nice staff. No issues, everything went great.
Mike Muenstermann: Dr. Manders is honestly the worst doctor I have ever had in my life. His office has failed to return my calls week after week. I also became infected with a UTI and then he repetitively treated me with the same antibiotics that failed to work every time. They sent me in for two different urinalysis that they failed to run cultures on and failed to let me know that I had a UTI. Worst doctor ever! Worst office ever! Do not call this office if you want to be healthy!
carol reviewer: Office takes longer than any I have experienced to get back to me with answers to questions left on nurses line - takes multiple days. Disappointing because otherwise I respect this office.
Nathan Galusha: This was an awful experience. My appointment ended up being rescheduled which is fine stuff happens but extremely inconvenient to arrange kids to be someplace and taking time away from work. The Dr asked if I could feel him poking me I said yes he then stuck me with more anasthetic and IMMEDIATELY went to work. He must have senced my toes curling and asked if I could feel it. I mustered up a yes and his response was you have lots of tattoos you will be fine....hahaha funny guy let me cut your balls open and see who is laughing. Then the billing, I purposely schedule it towards the end of the year so HSA account would cover any additional costs. They billed it on January 6th so yay I can pay out of pocket. Oh and they Lost my deposit that I had to put down to schedule the appointment no record of it. Unprofessional on all levels, do yourself a favor and get a referral to someone else
Julie Taylor-Carlson: Dr. Mander made me feel very uncomfortable knowing that I did not want a male touching me. My husband was in the room and he said , Dr. Navneet Mander was very unprofessional and not compassionate what so ever. I was shaking on the table of anxiety and he nor his nurse did anything to try to make me feel more comfortable. I would never go back. The staff, when I went to go check out, laughed at me. It was one of the most horrifying experiences of my life. Dr. Mander is definitely in the profession for the wrong reason. Woman stay very clear of this one. I will never return. Mercy Health Transplant Center you should feel embarrassed that Dr. M. Hofmann sent me here to get a stent removed and made me go through so much trauma. Like I need to go through more trauma, after all the other surgeries and things I have been through. Dr. M. Hofmann, nephrologist at Mercy Health Transplant Center, maybe next time you will think twice about making a female transplant recipient go to a urologist that is very poorly rated, unprofessional and does not care about their patients, after I asked for a female urologist. Dr. M. Hofmann think about the patient and not the money!!!!!!
matt hazen: Staff are rude they cut you off every time you try to ask a question keep telling you to deal with the pain on tramadol that doesn't do anything
Mary Barrett: These are the NICEST group of medical professionals I have EVER had the pleasure of meeting. From the receptionist to the nurse to the doctor to the check-out clerk...seriously, SO KIND. They all went way out of their way to accommodate my needs.
Luke vandenberg: They were great, I'll change my stance if I have another kid
Drake Dominici: Awful first impression. called to get some information and the person who answered hung up on me when she asked if i had a doctor's reference and i said no.. she didn't even let me explain-- she just hung up flat

Urologic Consultants: what do users think?
Jay Congdon: Jannah Thompson is the "on call" urologist for Spectrum, but refuses to serve Spectrum's referrals even as Spectrum insists that she cannot refuse. Spectrum should end their relationship with Jannah Thompson and/or Urologic Consultants.
Jacquelyn Grigereit: Every step of the way with them was amazing! They made my daughter feel comfortable and I knew she was in good hands!
Jessica Slaydon: Hoping I’m able to update this review once this issue is resolved. My son was a patient before he was listed on our insurance. The office said I needed to pay in full and that they’d run my insurance and reimburse me within a few weeks. Procedure was done 2/3/22. I called in May, 7/19, 8/4 and today and have still got gotten my money back and each time I’m told they didn’t send to the insurance company yet and that it will be each time I talk with the call center. Please contact me asap so we can resolve this.
Ellie VanKeulen: We have used Urologic Consultants for a number of issues in our family and have always been treated with care and concern and professionalism! Love this office! Yes downtown parking is a bit difficult, but it’s so worth it!
Michael Deacon: Got snipped here. Doctor was quick and efficient on my surgery. He did not waste time with the small things like conversations, he was there to do the job.Currently waiting for my post vasectomy to be clear. If I end up getting my wife pregnant after it clears, this will be turned to 1 star.
john scoggins: Tried to pick someone up at front door and it's impossible to find parking to wait on them. Almost all the cars didn't have anyone sitting in them and when went back 10 minutes later, the same cars were parked there. They need valet service or something.
Justine Vanball: This office is exceptional! All of the doctors are so informative and educate you so well. The entire staff is so kind and welcoming. It was a fantastic experience and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a urologist!
Mandy Lerch: Our family has been here twice, once for a circumcision and once for another reason. During our consultation with Dr Roelofs for a circ, he explained the history as well as biblical reasons for circumcisions. Then he went on to tell us the cons of the procedure. I know more about this procedure then I ever thought I would know. We felt educated and confident in our decisions based on our consultation. Our second visit with Dr Anema was very much the same. We went into the consultation not knowing what to expect and left with more knowledge then you would think possible. The staff and providers are kind, caring and you can tell they know their stuff. 100% recommend even if you aren’t sure what your decision will be, they’ll give you the tools to decide.
Rachel Trostli: This office is about to perform a completely UNNECESSARY and very damaging surgery on a 2.5 year old boy without valid medical indication, and against the mother's wishes. They are also going against a court order! Shame on them for not standing up for the child's best interests and basic human rights. Disgusting
Lindy Bergakker: Very Friendly Staff from front desk to clinical staff. All questions and concerns taken care of. Staff went above and beyond.
Wayne Brown: This organization is outstanding and really cares about its patients. From the waiting room to the doctors office, you know your in good hands. I have had several surgeries with great success.
Annie lynn-le: My son has been here several times beginning at the age of 5. He is now 16. Eleven years ago Dr. Steinhart did the intial 3rd and final surgery on my son. After 2 failed surgeries due to a prior dr. This place is great. The staff is very friendly and overall the place makes you feel important and well taken care of Dr. Steinhart has retired so we seen Dr. Barber. He was very friendly and made my son feel comfortable, and answered all our questions and concerns. My son was given great care . Although we miss Dr Steinhart we were left in good hands with Dr. Barber. I highly recommend this place for any age child or young adult with urologic concerns. They are about the patient not the time or the money involved. I'm super satisfied with the outcome as well as the staff. Thank you so much for all your help and time you took to care for my son . Shout out to some of the best drs around Grand Rapids Michigan!! Cudos to Urologic Consultants.
Melissa Conner: These doctors do not care about getting sick patients in, they could care less. They will tell you to go to the ER or they will put you on a cancellation list which you will never get called for. You can’t ever speak to a nurse you have to leave and message and wait all day for a call back. Then if you miss it you are back to square one. This is not a patient centered office they do whatever is convenient for them and makes money.
Kaity Soteriou: Took my son for a consult. They were able to get us scheduled right away. Once at the appt the wait was minimal and all the staff were very friendly. Extremely impressed with Dr. Barber's bed side manner. He was professional and reassured my husband and I along the way. Would reccomend him to anyone.
Chris Serrano: Dr A. and his male nurse are special, especially his male nurse. It’s been a frustrating and unpleasant experience as a patient being under their care.
Scott Tiret: If you want a procedure then it may work out Dysfunctional practice once you move past the procedure. They don't want to deal with sick people and may grow impatient and get angry at you for "taking time from other patients".
Sherry Schneider: I’ve been trying since June to get an appointment with Dr. Jannah Thompson. I’m only in Michigan for the summer. I live in Florida and am on Medicare. You don’t need a referral in Florida to see a specialist when you’re on Medicare. I wanted to see Dr. Thompson because she specializes in Urology and Gynecology. I need a specialist in both areas. My doctor in Florida sent a referral. Unfortunately it was for the wrong thing. I had them send another referral twice which I was told could not be found even though the fax number used was correct. Now I’m told Dr. Thompson is booked up until October. I will be back in Florida by then.I saw an internal medicine doctor in Michigan. He told me Dr. Thompson would be a good doctor to see. He did not treat me for my issues so he wasn’t the right doctor to give me a referral.I’m totally disappointed with the response I received from Urologic Consultants. I don’t have a clue if Dr. Thompson is even aware of the issue.
Cherri J: The physical therapists are so nice but office staff and managers enforce a pay all up front policy not utilized in their medical side. Told to find somewhere else if you don’t like their policies.- so I did. Another place with better hours for customers, more customer friendly and not policy-money- mongers.
Tara Mechem: Travelled from Muskegon for an appointment for my son. Was under the impression that the main objective was to have an ultrasound done. At the appointment I am informed that the ultrasound tech is not there, in fact has been out of the office all week. Dr. spends maybe 10 mins with me, telling me this and mostly basic things that we already know. I left with nothing gained but an advisement to schedule another ultrasound appointment, and a bill for this waste of a visit. There was absolutely no reason why they couldn't have contacted me beforehand to reschedule my appointment for a time when an ultrasound tech would be there. Instead they chose to let me drive to GR to tell me in person, then charge me for it. I will look for a more competent office with better communication skills, and I recommend others do the same.
Don Barth: I had a positive first appointment with PA Brenda (thanks) who determined my kidney stone needed to be removed. This was on a Monday. She advised that Dr. Curry's scheduler would call me in a few days to schedule the procedure. Despite several attempts during the week to speak with "ANNE" and leaving messages, she would not return my call. On Thursday afternoon,of the same week, the receptionist called to advise that Anne would "get to me" on Friday. Thursday night after a third trip to my local ER, I was transferred to Butterworth to have the stone removed Friday morning. It's now Saturday morning, I am home, and Anne still has not called to schedule. I am sure Dr. Curry is a great doctor. Anne his nurse is a terrible communicator. From my very first message, all she had to do was relay a message to me through the receptionist. That is part of patient care too. I know this because I have (2) doctors and (3) nurses in my immediate family. You need to do better Anne. The one star is for you and you only.
Haso Keric: Does not honor agreed upon appointment time.

Michigan Urological Clinic: what do users think?
Laurie Markle: Dr Shockly is very down to earth and easy to talk with . He's open in his bedside manner , efficient , keeps working while he explains what he is doing . He was wonderful in my husband's emergency situation and put us both at ease as much as he could .He is definitely our Urologist for as long as he is in practice. I highly recommend him and his practice.
dustin burke: Dr.m is the best, being I'm young getting the snip he made me comfortable and assured me it wouldn't be bad. Talked to me throughout the course of the procedures. Made me feel comfortable all the way. Would recommend him to family and I have.
Holly Marshall: Husband had a vasectomy here almost 3 years ago. Amazing and friendly staff.
Andrew Curtis: So intially I scheduled here because it was covered by my insurance for a procedure. They seemed nice enough however has a two cancelations policy they did not make me aware of till it was to late despite tellinf them I worked nights, and didn't have a reliable ride because I am the only one in my household with a license.Regardless I had to reschedule and considered both a cancelation instead of understanding that some of us have real life problems must be nice for them and needed to look else where. At this point I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and and should be clear ln policy's from the get go.
Maggie Isenhoff: Do not go here!!!! My husband has had chronic pain issues for six weeks after his surgery. They’ve don’t absolutely nothing except give tell him to take more ibuprofen. He has been in the worst pain and it has affected his daily life all while they have done almost zero to help. All they care about is getting you in and out as fast as possible.
Tiffany B.: If you're going to this office because your doctor referred you, please push back. I went in with a pressing concern and every appointment felt like it was a NASCAR pit stop. SO extremely rushed; I felt like I was on candid camera it was so unnaturally impersonal. They performed a 5 second scope and brushed me off. Said nothing was wrong and to live my life with this new issue that felt like a UTI every day. I went back to my primary doctor and expressed my concern - something was wrong and I felt like an annoyance at this point. She referred me to Dr. Emily English. This doctor actually took time. She did an actual evaluation on me and asked questions (had a conversation). Found the root cause during my initial appointment with her and referred me to a pelvic floor physical therapist. I just wrapped up my time with the PT and I am so grateful I didn't lose hope. My issue is almost 100% better after months of not knowing what was wrong with me. I have stretches to follow, etc to get back to normal. Spare yourself some time, money and stress. Skip this office.
Joseph Vanderzee: I really wish I could give this place zero stars! Do not go here for any procedure. They discriminate against people and dont look at your insurance policies to see if you are covered. They had 30 days before my procedure to check my insurance to see that the procedure was covered 100% with no cost out of my pocket. As soon as I mentioned that I had a secondary insurance they got very scattered brained and very judgemental and try to tell me I had to pay for this upfront even with coverage i literally called my agency and they told the facility while I was on the phone with them that I was fully covered with no put of pocket costs. And the office said I wasnt. So needless to say, I'm getting my procedure done elsewhere and this company will be reported for discrimination and for loss of work! And to add while i was at the facility, my insurance company informed the facility that this is a preventive procedure and there is no deductible for this and they still tried to make me pay for the procedure
Kayla W: Everyone there is amazing and very nice
Robert Arnott: Very friendly and professional
Howard Vanderwall: When told my PSA well elevated I was referred to Dr.Mattman. Highly skilled and an excellent physician. Honest and forthright. Explained in easy to understand terms what my options were and the possible outcomes of each. Glad to say I have been cancer free for 3 years now.
dymiva: This office was recommended to me when I was considering having a vasectomy procedure. I was concerned about possible side effects, and wanted to go with a physician that had plenty of experience and believed in being less invasive. The consultation was quick and easy, everything was explained from start to finish, and the actual day of the surgery went very smoothly. Every follow-up visit I was met by very friendly staff, and thus I would definitely recommend this particular office if you are considering any urological procedures or need consultation.
Ken Sanborn: Dr. Maatman is an excellent doctor. He was kind and patient and willing to answer all questions we had. I would recommend him and this office to anyone looking for a urological clinic.
Daniel Wimbush: Professional & polite, follow ups went well, no complaints.
Shelby Novak: I have contemplated leaving this review for a few months and I have never left a bad review for a doctors office before but I feel like I need to share. I have been to this office twice in 4 years. I have been suffering from chronic uti’s and uti symptoms for more than 10 years. My first visit here, I didn’t feel like I got any answers. I was told to avoid alcohol and follow a diet that would calm my bladder. The diet change did help, but still continued with my symptoms for four years. After many PCP visits and cultures coming back negative, my doctor wanted to refer me to a urologist. I requested a different office but this one was the only one with available appointments and I was desperate, so I gave it another shot. I felt like I was begging them to get to the root of my problem. I was once again told to follow the diet. Which I have been doing. I have learned over the years what irritates my tract the most. But I am in major discomfort more often than not. I was asking what conditions can cause this, if it is possible that I could have damage to my bladder/tract. Nothing at all was explained to me for what could be going on and the doctor didn’t go over any conditions that could be causing this, nor did they even want to find out. I was told to try a medication and come back in three months to see if it was helping. I wasn’t told what the medication was or what it would be treating. I was asking for imaging to be done to check for kidney stones and damage (or anything else, I’m not a doctor so I don’t know what all the possibilities could be). He finally agreed to do an x Ray after I insisted that something be done. I still don’t have any answers and continue to have symptoms nearly everyday. I am very frustrated to say the least.
bennymac1313: A+++ doctor all the way. He talked to me during procedure to make me feel more comfortable and did an amazing job! I would definitely recommend.
htinkham: Dr. Maatman was quick, completely efficient, perfectly conversational to help you relax. Highly recommend.
Fred Beaulieu (Secret Garden Poetry): I saw Dr. Maatman for a number of years. He was always pleasant, helpful, attentive and professional. I would recommend him to anyone.

EL SIERREÑO CALENTANO: Muy buen urologo
mike morin: I had my prostate removed in April 2020. Dr. Kuntzman explained all my options and the pro’s and cons of each . He performed the surgery and it went exactly as he outlined in our preparatory meetings. He has great follow up skills and I would highly recommend him for this type surgery. He’s excellent...
Han Solo: Had my vasectomy many years ago. Doc did a great job. No complications and a great bedside manor. +++
