Ben Heinz: I went to this location on Thursday at 12 to apply for my passport. The man who was taking pictures and the woman handling the passports desk were incredibly rude to us and others. The woman was ignoring another customer who had a special needs son. When we tried to schedule another appointment the woman said the earliest available time was next week at times we had already said we weren't available. When we went online there were multiple times that she didn't share with us. It felt like she was purposely being unhelpful. Terrible experience.

An my original arrival for today now has been bumped to tomorrow...this is ofcourse after waiting for it to leave Chicago as it was sitting there for 7 days with the same Dispatched update then cancel...Departed so on..
Alicia Wilkins: Let me start by saying, the employee’s that work at this location are violent and aggressive. I had an appointment at this location on 3/26/22 at 8:45 AM. I was on time, and was greeted with a nonchalant “hello.” The moment I told the 5 employees that were standing behind the counter what I was there for, many of them preceded to say, “it’s my time to go & etc..” I then stood there, mind you, I was the only person in the lobby, while the employee’s played the game “IT,” before telling me which window to go to; no one was working, just talking….😔 As soon as I showed the young women (African American woman, slim in stature, and very long hair) my birth certificate (original document) she quickly looked and said, “I don’t think they’ll expect this,” & took the document to her colleague, like it was a piece of trash, and told me that I would need to get a new one. I then asked where should I go to get o new north certificate, and she told me across the street. I asked where, and she repeated a cross the street…. I said all of that to say, these employees are very rude, uneducated, lack understanding, and only employed because it’s federally funded. I’LL TELL EVERYONE TO NEVER DO BACK OR TO THIS LOCATION.

Jesse Domina: Worked at this location for a few months, but had to quit due to the harassment from management and lead clerks. They get upset if you leave the machines just to use the restroom. They get upset if you wait to use the restroom when it's time for your break. They won't let workers sit for the full 15 minutes of their breaks. If you're waiting for maintenence to show up, they'll force you to try the machine in front of them, which just shreds more mail. The problematic management have been fired for harassment get rehired into the same positions. If you have ANY disabilities they will fight you tooth and nail to discount them in order to force you to work longer shifts. The union is TRASH and won't do a thing to help any of the new workers.
Claudia Rayner: Always a bad experience when there are 8+ people in line and just one working. Another post lady was behind the window but obviously couldn't be bothered to help get the line down as she just disappeared with her drink in hand. Then someone from corporate was obviously in (they were wearing a suit) because they came and saw the line and joked with the 1 employee how he wishes the building looked closed and the employee responded 'I wish so they could stop coming in' for all to hear. Wish I could opt out of giving them any of my tax dollars

I went close to 6pm on a Wed and they were still open.They have signs on all the doors I went through saying that masks are required in the lobby. So I stopped before entering, put my stuff down and got one out of a plastic bag from my backpack. I don't mind.Masks weren't being enforced (it's either all or nothing, whatever), but I was annoyed to see the only two clerks not abiding by their own regulations. To be fair, one was wearing a mask, but it was pulled down so her nose was exposed. The other clerk (male) was maskless.I don't necessarily mind grabbing my mask out if it's required by a business. But don't post signs saying they're required if you're not even going to have employees wear one.

josi stevens: I receive notification of mail to be delivered by USPS Informed Delivery everyday. I continue to not receive the mail that I was notified of. This past week there were 2 that were not delivered, both very important mail, 1 being my renewed license. You cannot get through to the post office via phone. The service is getting worse by the day.

Check again 30 minutes later, driver left a slip. They NEVER knocked on my door. I was sitting 10 ft from my front door and couldn't possibly have missed a knock in those 30 minutes. Simply put, there is a reason this public business loses billions every year. They're lazy.

#mybuddyandme: This location is terrible and the staff is equally horrible. I shipped out a package from another location only for it to find it's way here a month later. I tried in vain to reach them by telephone however the number provided me by the USPS themselves seems to be out of service. When I went to location to retrieve the package I was treated like a criminal by the staff. They informed me that it had been shipped improperly and indirectly accused me of doing so. I blindly followed the associate at the location I shipped this package from when they told me how much it would be to ship. As a customer how was I to know any different? What's more after I requested to speak to a supervisor there was no sense of urgency from the associate to find someone. When someone did eventually show up he was very rude as well. I am going to avoid this location at all costs from now on.
jml: Placed a hold on my mail, canceled it the next day. 4 days later I still have not received my mail, After speaking to an individual named Brian at the Northwest Walker Street location, he told me I would get my mail today Wednesday, September 29th. I still haven't received my mail. Will be following up with another phone call tomorrow Thursday September 30th. The Walker Street location is a joke, they have a history of not delivering mail and many complaints with the Michigan Postmaster General.

Nowadays it's a much different story.We (those of us on my street) have not received our mail since February 13th; today is the 22nd. That's 7 post office business days without mail.For the most part I don't really care as they don't delivery anything worthwhile anymore. It's just no wonder they continue to lose so much money year after year. They completely unreliable.

Alyssa Myers: Charging 13 dollars a package because they couldn't walk 20 feet to actually drop it off where it belongs
Taylor Hermanson: I have worked as a funeral service professional for many years, and when we serve the family of a veteran we need to get a burial flag from the post office. ALL that has ever been needed was the person's DD214 and the appropriate flag application. When I went to the post office to pick up a flag, as I normally would, I was met with the rudest employee and they refused to help me because I would not provide the death certificate of the deceased with the flag form. The death certificate has never been, and currently is not, needed to receive a flag. I am unsure who was trying to 'help' me, but they need make sure they are better educated for next time.

I find this extremely troubling that I continue to experience this issue while I'm awaiting my mail-in ballot and I have to go out of my way to ensure that I continue to get my mail. Representatives at the post office have indicated that this carrier often decides that mailboxes are too full to deliver mail too and declares residences as vacant and that I am one of many cases. THEN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT! Livid that I cannot trust the postal service to literally do their job.

M B: A little out of my reach personally as the bus doesnt go there, but the service and the peace going in the check my box; everyone has always been very helpful and able to problem solve quickly what is what. Even when I have 20 questions, remembering that even if I get frustrated, that I can ask for on paper information, if that is what I need. I am multisensory impaired, so for me... this is a great office, calm, nice layout, and knowledgeable staff.
Joseph fiola: There are lines all the way to the door, still no help was sent just extremely slow as to take it or leave it. Employees are union and they know regardless of how they treat the public there job is secure as can be. I often wonder about management helping out at times or anyone stepping up to the plate, it hasn't happened in all my years coming to this office.

IceyOne: The mail carrier for my apartment complex is the worst I've ever dealt with. I had a package arrive on the 3rd in one of the parcel lock boxes. It's already gone. I went to check my mail yesterday on the 9th(sure a few days late but we had really bad weather last week) and there was no key for the parcel lock box. Either they gave the key to the wrong mailbox or the mail carrier returned it already. Neither would surprise me. They are constantly sending my mail back without warning. Everywhere else I've ever lived, if my mailbox got full, they'd empty my box and leave me a note to come pick up my stuff. Not this carrier. It's so frustrating.

I was told to buy an packing tape roll from them in order to send it. I ran home to get tape, couldn't find anything but duct tape, which I know they wouldn't accept, so I went back, stood in line for 30 minutes while the same girl flirted with a customer in front of 5 other customers waiting. I brought the packing tape up to the other girl in line and she told me I didn't have to buy tape, that she would just tape it for me since it was just 2 pieces. Thanks USPS for making something that should have taken 5 minutes take an hour.

becky smith: This is the best, most friendly post office. It is located on Monroe center across from Rosa park circle, across from the Grand Rapids Art Museum. I cant believe there is an inappropriate restaurant review for the post office. Nor negative review for the main post office on this page. This post office, the window closes at 4:30 and lobby at 5.However, this is the friendly post office and the one that usually will try to answer the phone if they are able and help you. It is the main post office up on Michigan that makes up their own rules, never answer the phone, and has extremely long waits. However, this post office is not open on Saturday; the main one on Michigan is open on Saturday until 3p.m. Also this post office does not process mail for downtown, the main one does. As for mail on the Westside the one out in Walker processes mail for the Westside. This little cubby hole post office downtown is our favorite and the best, still cant believe all the inaccurate negative reviews that belong to a restaurant, the main post office, and delivery issues that they have no control over. The USPS has messed up the phones for both great downtown post office so you may need to call East grand rapids if only have a quick question not related to delivery.
Adrian Mora, MS: I've eaten at this restaurant, numerous times, and I have not been disappointed in the food. I am a big critic of Mexican food since I am Mexican and I typically do not like many restaurants that are said to be "Real/Authentic Mexican Food". You will not be disappointed in the authenticity of the food.

Ms. Sherer: Last night, my husband went to drop off some last minute packages. The postage and packaging was completed, so we have been told NUMEROUS times by several employees here to bring them to the counter and skip the line since we don't actually need assistance, they just need to be thrown in a bin behind the counter workers.My husband did this, and at first, the counter worker ignored him completely. Then, the worker yelled at him and told him to get to the back of the line if he needed anything. (This particular worker has told us to drop the packages at the counter in the past. We're in and out of here every other day.) My husband REALLY didn't want to stand in a line full of people without masks on (immunocompromised family member). The worker finally said, "Do you want to take this outside?" The worker grabbed the packages - and my husband left.What?? I do not care what world we live in, THAT is unacceptable. But the next part blows my mind.The worker FOLLOWED MY HUSBAND OUTSIDE, and continued threatening him with physical violence. My husband RAN for the truck and tore out of there, the guy chasing him and yelling at him. I just don't know in what world behaving like that is acceptable. Maybe a check cashing place, but the POST OFFICE? I mean, seriously, who the heck gets that worked up over four express packages? And why? Bad days aside, threatening customers is not a good look.So yeah, I'm guessing this post master is too afraid to fire this guy, for obvious reasons. If he reacts like this to a customer asking him to grab 16 ounces of packages that are pre-labeled, and turning around to toss them in a bin behind him? Can you IMAGINE what he'd do if they fired him?Glad that's not my job.Anyways, perhaps until they get rid of the Mike Tyson wannabe, I'd recommend finding another post office.

Connor: I normally love shipping with USPS. Not the same experience here. The workers at this particular office made me feel like I was interrupting their conversation by asking a few questions and inferring I was dumb to each other with side comments. I thought it may be just me but the other reviews confirm that this branch is a bad apple.

Rohit Jha: One of the worst USPS stores to deal with. Lost my package which I shipped with them despite asking for enabling tracking. The USPS guy who took the package said he enabled the tracking but later came to know he didn't. When I visited the counter again after waiting for more than a month for the package to be delivered, the black lady at the counter was too rude to even acknowledge. After visiting their main office, they accepted that it was a mistake by a newbie guy at their counter but the package was lost anyways. And I don't think they took any action against the guy.

What harm would it hurt to have those items available for your paying customer. We are the ones paying for these items. This world has lost touch with the simple things in life. Alison Garnier: Worst experience ever. The lady working there today (08/03/20 at 3pm) is the most rude person I have ever seen. I tried to explain clearly what I needed, she kept cutting me off and telling me “this is not how you do it”, although I have clear instructions from the embassy on how to do it and which enveloppe I needed. I had to insist but all of it ended with my official document (birth certificate) being torn up. Do not go there. Never had issues in East Grand Rapids so I will keep going there from now on.

It was clear I arrived before 5:00 and a customer in line opened the door and the worker behind the counter yelled to go back out and that they are closed. I am handicapped and they would not even let me put a prepaid postage box on the counter and leave. I had to go to another facility in the mall and walk my packages in on a broken hip. How rude. If you close at 4:55, post it that you close early.
Via Essentja: I don't leave bad reviews, often. This is in fact the first one I have ever written. Went in Tuesday morning last week really early, was one of the first customers. Sent a PRIORITY 2 day delivery birthday gift to my niece, to Muskegon! FROM GRAND RAPIDS TO MUSKEGON! Guess when she got it???? 8 days later!!!!!! It was important to me that she knew we didn't forget, that she got her birthday gift on time. I was so upset, I chose to call the 1800 number and I waited 48 minutes to speak with someone. Just being able to get in the queue was a task in itself. I spoke with a lady who told me that the priority delivery of 2 days I payed for was not a guarantee but a possibility. I WILL NOT BE USING THIS LOCATION EVER AGAIN! I WILL BE AVOIDING USING USPS AGAIN AT ALL COSTS. WHAT A JOKE. and just notice - Our opinions matter so much they don't even care to answer. Every normal customer service business would want to care enough to at least address the issue.

David DaMour: The lady at the front desk was so funny and nice. But then this grumpy young guy with headphones on from the back comes out and slaps his hand on my parking sign. I was the only one parked there, got a coffee next door and left. Wasn’t even there for 10 minues including my time at the post office. There was all other spots available but this grouch slammed the sign and made a big deal over nothing. If you are so unhappy at your job and are rude to your customers …don’t even show up. Showed him my receipt that I paid for post service and he yelled even more. Did I mention there was an entire open parking lot other than my spot? Imagine hiring someone so completely miserable with life.
Jeffrey Oldani: By far my favorite post office. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. My only gripe is that the parking lot seems to always be full, even if the traffic is light. Thankfully street parking is not expensive.

Robert Ham: Whomever is responsible for delivering packages from this usps location, has destroyed two media boxes of books and records. Extremely poorly handled, clearly other things were stocked on top of it, and must've had trouble carrying it because the bottoms were broken out as well (which is funny because they were under 70lbs and when you apply for the post office, one of the first questions/requirements is being able to lift 75lbs). Several books are ruined and a few are even missing having slipped out through breaks in the box. Thanks usps.

Corey Guigelaar: Terrible customer service and apathetic carriers. I got a notice my package was delivered to the neighborhood mailboxes and put into the package locker. The carrier then put that key inside our mailbox so only the intended person can get it. The key was never put in our box so I never got it. So I filed a Stolen Package complaint. I got a voicemail but when I called back the person who answered pretended they didn’t know anything about it. They said they’d have the carrier go out and check the mailbox for my package. Problem is that almost a month went by between me filing the complaint and someone finally calling me. Use FedEx next time.

Trinity Paasman: I’m so thankful I don’t have to use USPS very often. I went in this branch last week to ship an eBay return. There was only one clerk helping customers. There were 4-5 people ahead of me and it literally took 35 minutes just to get waited on. Nobody has time for that. When I have to return anything from Amazon I can drop off at any UPS store and it’s super quick. I don’t know how USPS is going to build themselves back up with this type of customer service. Mel S: Great customer service does exist. I live in Texas, in a tiny town on the Gulf of Mexico. I purchased contacts from an online company. Unfortunately, the company wrongfully sent my package to an address in Grand Rapids Michigan (no I did not get the house address only the message of "your package was delivered in your mailbox in Grand Rapids Michigan" 🙄I called my local post office, and they called this location. Today, Edwin returned my call (on a Saturday!) Although, I still do not have said package. I just wanted to give thanks to Edwin- for giving me a friendly call about the issue of my misplaced package. Hopefully, the contacts will find their way back to me. Still hoping 🙏Again, thank you Edwin. 😊

L Ham: I know there are bad reviews about this location and hope they can correct whatever gave this location those but speaking from my own experience on 4-12-23...they did a good job. Starting from Dominique over the phone who was patient and courteous in answering my questions and in-person with Erica during drop-off. In-person there was no wait at 4pm and was greeted quickly and given the supplies needed to complete my package mailing. Always room for improvement with any business but during my interaction with this USPS location...they shined!

Fire Bug: Supposed to relieve package yesterday. Recieved a text "attempted delivery no access" didn't ring the bell to be let in. Went outside as soon as I got the text. No truck outside asked my neighbors who were outside if they saw a USPS vehicle while they were out. They said no and were out there for the last hour. I had the same problem 3 years ago today ironically. Made a post back then too. 🤦‍♀️
Queen Crafts: I was waiting in my living room on a package that needed to be signed for. I could see the mail person outside my window putting mail in the boxes. I go get my mail and there was a notice in there saying I need to come pick up my package because the driver missed. The person never even bothered to knock at my door so I could sign! Now I have to waste gas driving all the way to this location just to pick up my package that they got paid to bring to me! I have had nothing but problems with this post office for the last 5 years!

This was about 2:30. After doing my business on 28th Street I stopped on my way home about 3:40 pm. Still unable to get into the facility. Several other unhappy people also leaving without being able to to take care of business. Unbelievable especially at this location.
