Emma Varley: I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding at Clearwater this past summer.(Emma Varley Photography) This venue is so stunning it gives limitless opportunities for photos! Not only that but they have a well lit indoor area for the ceremony. They also have spacious rooms for the bride and groom to get ready in that a lot of venues don’t offer. I would highly recommend this venue to couples!

Jalyn F: Attended a wedding here, it was pretty nice. The skylights and tall ceilings made for a bright atmosphere, so it looked like it was still the afternoon when it was 9pm. Facility is clean, easy layout. Not the best for sound, as voices didn't carry well in the large space. It was hard to hear people talking even when using a microphone, but that could have been equipment-related. Overall, decent place. Lots of parking, well-lit outside at night.

The Cheney Place is a 5 star venue with 5 star service.

Ruth Wittbrodt: If you are getting married in Grand Rapids, you must book The Cheney Place. Not only is the venue gorgeous and unique, but the staff that help you out along the way are top notch. We worked with Sara and she was fantastic. I was a bride that asked a lot of questions and really wanted consistent communication via email - and Sara did just that. I never felt like an email was going unanswered or that I was unsure of what what needed from me. Anyone working at the venue is knowledge and will help you bring your vision to life. Guests will love the cocktail hour space upstairs, and the reception area is perfect for anyone looking for a modern industrial look. The staff put all of our decor out perfectly the day of, and it is amazing that they help you pack things up and make the end of the night super simple. I promise this venue is where you should get married!

Michelle Nedved: I am SO happy we picked The Cheney Place as our wedding venue! The space is beautiful, quirky, and was such a hit with our wedding guests! They all were gushing over the cocktail hour space and the elevator entrance was a HIT. One of the reasons we fell in love with the Cheney place is the fact that you could get away with minimal decorations, as the venue speaks or itself. Unfortunately, there was an ice storm on our wedding day, meaning outdoor pictures were out of the question. Luckily, The Cheney Place has SO many cool spots for pictures inside, that we didn't even care about the weather preventing us from going outside. The staff was fantastic to work with from start to finish and made us feel at ease with the process! We worked closely with Colleen as our coordinator and she was so fun, helpful, and thanks to her, the day went off without a hitch!My only tiny complaint is that at our "final details meeting" 3 weeks before our wedding, the individual who hosted our meeting was very clearly quite ill... We were a little upset about this, as there were other staff members at the venue at the time. I understand that people get sick and "the show must go on", but I wish that we were given the option to do the meeting via phone, with another staff member, or at the very least, the sick staff member wear a mask during our meeting. Had it been at any other point in the process, we would have cared less, but being exposed to germs 3 weeks before our wedding that we had been planning for 1.5 years, was a bit upsetting. Luckily, we both stayed healthy enough to still enjoy our big day!Overall, Cheney Place is a 5 STAR venue and I would choose them again and again! If you are thinking of booking with them, the answer is absolutely YES!!! :)
Madelyn Buhrman: The Cheney Place is the best venue around!!!!!! Not only is it gorgeous, but everyone who works there is kind, helpful, and 1000% knows what they are doing! We specifically worked closely with Abby who was fun, caring, and made sure everything ran smoothly. Seriously the day went PERFECT because of them! Every person at our wedding commented on how beautiful the venue is and my friends told me everyone who walked upstairs to cocktail hour mentioned how cool it is up there. The elevator entrance was so fun and made the day even more memorable. My bridesmaids told me watching me come down made them sob even more. Seriously you won't regret booking with this venue!! They are organized and were so helpful during the days leadings up to the wedding.

It took so much stress off us with there assistance during the day. The place is beautiful on every floor, especially the cocktail/second floor, which every one of our guests complimented. They also allow you to have options for a caterer, instead of only one, which made it possible for us to have one of our favorite meals (nachos!) for the dinner. We highly recommend this venue for others and can't thank the staff/venue enough for everything they did!

The staff is fantastic - coordinating vendors, organizing decor, maintaining the order of events. They worked with our work schedules for meetings and took what inspiration pics we had and created an amazing venue.Our guest raved about the second floor space for cocktail hour and that it is a hidden gem with the nondescript exterior.We would highly recommend The Cheney Place for anyone looking for a venue - great location, minimal decor needed, and AMAZING staff.

All our guests raved about the venue and my husband and i can’t stop talking about how helpful and caring the staff at the Cheney place was, especially our day of coordinator Abby who made sure that everything went off perfectly. She coordinated with our vendors and made the day as stress free as it possibly could have been. We also used their Photo Booth service and it was such a huge hit with our guests. Everyone loved getting their photo strips. We cannot recommend the Cheney Place enough.

Grace Simpson: We had a beautiful spring wedding at Venue3Two. The mansion and conservatory are stunning and has so much space. There was plenty of room for both the bridal party and groomsmen to get ready on the big day. We used the kitchen to serve breakfast and lunch while getting ready and had plenty of space in the suites to get dressed. The venue staff, specifically Ava, are super helpful and responsive throughout the planning process and on the big day. I'm so glad we chose Venue3Two for our big day!

The staff on the day of your wedding is nothing less than unprofessional and rude.If you want to get the stink eye all night, and basically forced to leave before you can even finish celebrating your big day. For the money, it is definitely not worth it and you can find a better experience somewhere else.
malysa le: Booked venue. Staff recommended us to book conservatory but did not disclosed we would not have suites. Live out of town, When asked for accommodations, they were not helpful in trying to make our event more enjoyable. We were not able to do rehearsals, drop offs, pictures or anything. They setup our venue for ceremony and reception—— imagine walking into your reception and ceremony at the same time.. very little effort by the staff. Definitely paid for a venue and not service. Very disappointed overall. Recommend booking else where that would appreciate their client.

The grounds were perfect, the venue team were so kind, and everything about Lauren + Tony's day was an absolute dream. Being given the opportunity to shoot at this magnificent wedding venue was a dream come true for me as a wedding photographer. Every corner is perfection, even the interior. The natural light, the landscaping, architecture, decorations...all sooooo beautiful and I couldn't recommend this space enough. To photograph another wedding here would be another dream come true and I will never stop loving it!!!

Leah Rife (Leah Rife Photo): I recently shot a fall wedding at this venue, and it's been one of my favorite wedding venues ever! The staff was incredibly kind, the spaces inside and out were so dreamy, and the location was really lovely. It rained on my couple's wedding day, but the indoor space was so perfect for photos and there was a ton of natural light, something a lot of wedding venues don't always have. Luckily we were able to still take photos outside later, and the backdrop of the gorgeous historic manor was perfect for photos. I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a wedding in the greater Grand Rapids area!

Micaela Sian: The Revel Center is a beautiful venue! The photo-op decor and little touches were delightful. Gabrielle Howard helped me with my event, every step of the way. She was helpful, courteous, pleasant and a joy to work with. Event planning can drive someone to drink but she was able to talk me off the ledge a few times. Haha. 10/10 experience.
Aspen Andriessen: Such an amazing venue. Not only is the staff helpful and genuine, but they go above and beyond to make sure things are in order. Ali Blankinship: We loved using Revel for our reception celebration! It's so unique and all of our guests were WOWED by how awesome it was. It was the perfect space to hold our not-so-traditional wedding/first birthday party. The arcade went over so great with both the kids and the adults. The space was roomy and cohesive to spread out guests. We loved that our decor was complimented by the space's decor. And sidenote: the place smelled so great- a very underrated detail lol. The owner, Matt, was so accommodating to our needs throughout the entire process. We also enjoyed the fact that we were able to cut costs by bringing our own alcohol. For being a more conservatively priced venue, there was nothing that was lacking. Also, the dance floor was poppin'

Hailey Hoover: We had our wedding at the Revel Center yesterday. The staff was amazing and so helpful. I can not speak highly enough of Gabby, she worked so hard to keep everyone organized and on time. She was even scraping ice from the horrible storm so that our guests could enter safely. Us and all of our guests had an absolute blast and our wedding was everything we could have hoped for. The bar service we requested was amazing. Gabby even made us a personalized drink list for guests to order from. We are so thankful we choose the Revel Center as our wedding venue. I could not recommend them more for anyone getting married. From the bottom of our hearts thank you for everything.

The natural light that floods the space is simply stunning, making for incredible photos without the need for excessive artificial lighting. The rustic yet elegant decor adds to the overall ambiance, providing the perfect backdrop for capturing those special moments.I would highly recommend New Vintage Place to any couples looking for a beautiful and unique venue for their special day.

Rachel Grow: I booked this venue for a corporate event. Pros: Style, free onsite parking, larger room capacity, multiple rooms for guests to congregate. Cons: Communication and planning management. Communication leading up to the event was spotty and answers changed on policies for working with other vendors which was frustrating. The final setup of the room didn't match our final approved floor plan so we had to move tables ourselves upon arrival. The venue withheld a portion of our security deposit for disputed fees from a third party vendor we weren't liable for which definitely wasn't legal, but we paid it anyway because we didn't want to spend the time fighting it. The Sonos sound system they had really didn't work, which was a stress during the event. Finally, at the end of the night, the venue manager lost their keys we had to wait around for 30 minutes for him to find him in order for our vendors to pick up materials before leaving. All in all not very professional, but the guests loved the look of the venue so it was still a win, but we probably won't be booking with them again.
BreeAnn Schmidt: The venue itself was beautiful, we loved it!However, the management was not the easiest to work with, unorganized, and added many little costs as the date got closer for things that were not disclosed in the beginning when booking.

Erica Halsey: I got married here in June and highly recommend this venue to all couples. The staff at NVP was kind and responsive. Touring, booking, and making payments for our wedding was easy. We rented the entire building for our 140 person wedding and with Covid it was nice having the extra space to spread out. The brick walls, modern finishes, and beautifully large windows made for dreamy wedding photos. We got a lot of compliments on how cool the venue was. Even though we had a shuttle to/from hotel, there is a massive parking lot which is rare for a close to downtown wedding. 5 stars, 10/10, would book all over again!

Then let’s talk about the actual venue! It’s GORGEOUS, also string lights are a must. If you’re looking for a place to book that will provide a lot of space and a beautiful venue, look no further, trust you will be satisfied!!!
Chaz Oswald: My wife and I had a wonderful experience with NVP. We were able to bring in our own catering company, Cousin’s Tasty Chicken, which was a priority of ours. The staff answered all our questions and worked hard to help us design the floor plan we desired for both our ceremony and reception. We would certainly recommend this venue to anyone looking for an event space.

Allison White: My husband and I were drawn to Leona because of it's closeness to downtown GR and beautiful interior. It had has a unique, Scandinavian/boho charm that captures the character of the city. The ultimate deciding factor to use this venue was the gorgeous ceremony space. If you're looking to host an indoor wedding with the same location for ceremony & reception than this is the venue to do so! No makeshift curtain or divider is needed to imitate your ceremony area. This venue has you moving eloquently from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception. Your guests will love it. The coordinators at this venue are down-to-earth and so ready to help you plan your day. They answered all my emails promptly and kindly. A special shoutout to Abby for being our main coordinator and making our décor look better than we could have imagined. She made our big day stress free and her humor was appreciated. You will also love the natural lighting and exterior of the building for your wedding photos. The windows in the bridal suite and reception area allow soft lighting that makes for great photos. The last thing to rave about this venue is the fact that your coordinators setup and take down all of your décor! We got to enjoy the rest of our wedding night with our guests and worry about grabbing our items the next morning. If I had to give one critique about the venue, it would be that noise is echo-y. The space is very open so it is hard to hear things when everyone gets mingling. Overall though, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leona & their staff to any wedding couple!
C Blair: The space is very pretty. Don't be fooled by the cheaper venue cost comparatively to other venue options. They force your hand by choosing their caterers who are more expensive than the venue to do a full service catering. My fiancée and I didn't like that from the start as we just wanted a buffer style dinner. We talked with the cheapest option for food and told them about our want for just a buffet style dinner and they said they could do that, but because the venue only allowed full service catering we'd have to pay thousands for two people to walk around and refill water. The venue still only will allow you to use their bar which is equally expensive to the caterers (no cash bar option.) They'll also charge you 500 if they see anything with glitter! My fiancée and I, after finding that our newly purchased home had leaks in its roof, had to get a new roof. This newfound cost set us back quite a bit and when we reached out to Leona to cancel they said that within 9 months of the event you have to still pay the full amount which is insane because that's around when we booked the event. From the get go we wanted to do things our way but the venue is extremely strict with what they want you to do. Don't do this venue if you're looking elegant space, the venue is trying to look affordable but once you get into it they'll suck you dry.

Vida Wilson: Beautiful venue! I was a vendor at the Made Market 2022 and throughly enjoyed it. It's open and gets lots of natural light. There is a chic bar area that wasn't in use for our event. In a few corners of the room they have seating areas with modern furniture and comfortable couches and chairs. Someone had fun renovating this space.
Dillon Padgett: Can't recommend this place enough! Leona Road is the perfect place to have your wedding. The space is designed specifically with weddings in mind. There is plenty of space for large weddings but even smaller weddings will be able to enjoy the space too. They have designed so beautifully that it will require minimal decorating. We just accented the room with some flower towers and center pieces and that was it!

The venue lost power 10 minutes before our ceremony and the staff went ABOVE & BEYOND to ensure our day was still perfect. Their team had generators at the venue within 30 minutes to get us back up and running. Although the full power never came back on, the staff went out of their way to get extra candles to bring a little light back into the space and make it feel extra romantic. They were so sweet throughout the entire day even with the unexpected power outage. We HIGHLY recommend Leona Rd and their team - best in Grand Rapids!

They made every bit of my dream come true and helped cater to all my wishes and needs. The whole planning process was quite easy and filled with no nonsense, I couldn’t be happier with how everything came together and worked out! I highly recommend the Mckay Ballroom to anyone wanting an elegant and stunning venue that people will never forget! It gives such a feeling of fanciness and glamour that makes you almost feel like royalty or at least as close as you can get in west Michigan. The ballroom really is something to behold! Also the bridal suite and rooftop room were so convenient and cool looking, just an additional element of wonder and ease. Overall a spectacular venue and wonderful staff! 11/10 would recommend

Yeonhee Cho: I was married here a month ago in the middle of December. We booked the venue in a hurry in October and throughout the whole process, Ashley and Chandell were so helpful and accommodating for the short notices and other requests for Korean guests. The actual wedding day was as smooth as can be and I had such a wonderful day. The venue itself was gorgeous and the beautiful chandeliers and the lighting was all perfect. Thank you again Ashley and Chandell for making the wedding day so wonderful, as well as countless other staff who made it all possible!!

I made a couple mistakes throughout the night that resulted in more work for them, but they never complained. Only served with a smile. The space is gorgeous. Ashley provided several lighting changes throughout that made some moments really special. Would highly recommend this venue is you are in search of a classy, downtown wedding.
Dj Lloyd: The manager Ashely at the McKay tower was extremely unprofessional with my best friend and his wife all they wanted was a good reception in a wedding and when we showed up we had to set everything up and she had no clue what was going on we had to walk her through everything but once everything was set up it was a nice place to do the wedding but when it came to clean up this event manager was extremely rude rushing everyone out the door screaming at The newlywed ride and groom and made a couple of in-laws cry. I would give no stars if possible but I figured the one star was good enough 100% would not recommend to get married at especially if Ashley the event manager is managing your wedding

Red 3 Productions: Cool old building repurposed into an event center
Heather Osterink: The Goei Center was the perfect spot for our Art & Experience Auction event! The space was beautiful, and the Show Room was the perfect spot to display the art and other items for the Silent Auction portion. The Banquet Room does not have a bad seat, and the TV displays helped to show off the Live Auction items. The staff are amazing! The are so easy to work with, and flexible and responsive to our needs. The whole night was amazing - just an incredible vibe! We are already booked there again for next year!

Korean Connection West Michigan: Korean Connection just hosted 120 people in the Kindle Room to honor Korean War Veterans. It was the perfect venue and the staff made everything run like clockwork. Kylie & the team were all so helpful especially hanging out TWO neon signs we had! Day of everything was absolutely perfect. Highly recommend the Goei Center, from the unique koi pond, to the multiple ways to set up your ceremony, the bar, chandeliers, reception area, even all the comfort seating it was everything I could have dreamed of and more! Not to mention the AMAZING bridal suite that is perfect for all the candid pictures while getting ready!
Winnifred Walsh: I have worked with the staff at the Goei Center for several events and I am continuously impressed! Our primary contacts were Kylie, Katie, and Jaihla. This team is extremely professional and quick to answer questions. The venue is also amazing! I've utilized both the Kindle Room and Goei Center, and both rooms/areas are beautiful. The other venue staff were also helpful and very professional. The bartenders are friendly, the AV technician was super knowledgeable, and every time we host an event here I know we are in good hands. I plan events for a living, and the venue staff really does make a difference. If you're looking for a unique, friendly, and professional venue in West Michigan- look no further!

linda Wilcox: For starters beautiful venue. Has more then one venue in the building. Got to experience the back venue for a wedding. Was set up very nicely when walking in. Had a rustic barn kind of setting with white sheets separating the seating and eatting area. The bathrooms were clean and offered a basket of mints, tampons, eye drops and other stuff that maybe needed. The bartenders were very nice but the list of stuff was very small ask for a margarita list stated tequila and sour mix so ask if they could make a margarita. Bartender had to ask the other Bartender how to make it and then Google it. Still tasted good and was very nice. Parking lot was not very big so if you do have the chance get there a little early. The venue has its own security....this is the problem that makes me not want to give more stars..... the security person was very rude....I will say this as I know some people may think this, we are a calm set of people and no one was heavily drunk.... but when walking outside to smoke the security person was very rude. Which kinda killed the whole wedding happy vibe. Which if I were to get married of have an event that is the biggest reason I wouldn't choice this place. I wouldn't want the security to be why people let unhappy.

Faith Mclain: The venue space was nice. The appetizers tasted better than the main course. They over cooked the steaks and they were very dry. The music was not the greatest. Most of the night no one on the dance floor. Had a hard time hearing it over everyone talking. I am not sure if the food and music had to be supplied by the venue since it was a work party.

Sean and Keara Ritsema: We recently had our wedding reception at the Waddell Center, and overall it was awesome! The staff was friendly, the venue was gorgeous, and the food was great. However, one big thing kept the day from being perfect. The handicap elevator was out of order and had no sign indicating its status or any other accessible way to get in. My uncle waited for around 10 minutes for a staff member to come by just to let him know that there was a ramp around the back side of the building. HE ended up being assisted down the stairs but was incredibly embarrassed. This is really unacceptable, and it seems from other reviews that this elevator has been an issue in the past that has not been addressed. I hope the Waddell Center addresses this issue promptly so no other individuals have to go through the embarrassment that my uncle did.
Kelly Bajdek: Beautiful space! Planning my “potential” 😂 wedding here! The space is exactly what I need with a rustic vintage vibe! The Waddell had artwork in their walks. I don’t see that often unless it’s a historical venue which you usually cannot change. This decor is modern and fits in beautifully with the open brick walls! Highly recommend booking a tour and and getting the deets! They already have a preferred caterer and bar so it’s an all in one exclusive venue! Saves time hunting down good food and music! Love this venue! 🤞 💍 💕

Lindsey and the other ladies in the office communicated so clearly and consistently and responded so quick to any and all of my questions throughout our planning time. They were always clear in what they needed and expectations on both ends. Hannah was our day of coordinator and she couldn’t have been more of a pleasure to work with. She was so attentive and kind and every detail she followed up on was thorough. The food and drinks were great, definitely get the herb chicken! We could not have asked for a better wedding celebration and it’s all in thanks to the beautiful Waddell Center and Distinctive Catering staff. Thank you again!!
