Raven Nevermore: I’ve really had the best experience at this store. I’ve visited a half dozen times over the last year. They have a great selection- and the staff is nice and helpful. This last time- a lady helped me- I came in about a half hour before close. I have to drive an hour to get there- and traffic isn’t always kind. She helped me get the right coating_ and introduced me to carbide tools.I appreciate being treated well- and I love my new hobby. No amount of online shopping can replace when you get from visiting a brick and mortar store with knowledgeable staff that love the hobby.Within the first few days - I’ve already sold 2 pens, and the lady wants 3 more. Thank you for the amazing experience

Angel Green: Alway happy to shop here when I need a really nice piece of wood, but today (3/9/2022) was extra special. I had been really looking forward to having the day off to be creative and work on projects, but when the day came, I naturally deciced to have an ADHD induced bad brain day. I just couldn't think to even get started, which resulted in a lot of aimless wandering and mounting anxiety and depression. I finally picked out a piece of wood for a project, and brought it to the counter. The very kind gentleman at the register (I regret not getting his name) looked at a large gouge on one side of the board, pointed it out, and said he couldn't sell it like that. Then he said, "Merry Christmas," and just gave it to me. It's a little thing, but I REALLY needed that, today!! Thank you a million times! 💞

Kenneth Van Der Scheer: Larry was vary helpful knowledgeable with the custom doors and drawer front on my project. He explained why they choose to use a stonger joinery then typically is used. The hole cost with the better joinery was still reasonable.

Sami W. Al Jallad: I paid Matthew Hutchinson, owner of Grand Rapids Woodworking a deposit of $750 three months ago (08/19) for a project that should have been completed the first week of 09/19. Matthew has not returned any of my calls since and has not completed the project. I do not recommend working with him and will be pursuing legal action.
Drew Pate: I commissioned Matt to make a piece for someone else, a part for an antique spinning wheel. A day after meeting with him and describing how the piece should be integrated into the rest of the wheel I realized that I had made a mistake in the description. I contacted him to make those changes but the piece had already been finished. He ended up having to make the order again as the first was unusable however he was very understanding about the whole thing and even offered a discount for the second round of work. I found him to be very reasonable all around, communications were always returned quickly, the second round of work was finished not only correctly but within the same day. The quality of the work itself was excellent both times.
Winslow Photography: Hired Matt at GRWW to transform a bare cargo trailer into an elegant customer space for our road shows. The craftsmanship, finish and feel of the final product was stellar. Not only are the customers always impressed, but our sales increased dramatically after making this investment. We highly recommend GRWW.
Joe Meatball: Asked for a simple project several months ago. Never completed it and couldn't get ahold of Matt by phone or email at all. Lucky to at least get my property back.A complete waste of my time and resources, not recommended....
