American Red Cross Blood Donation Center: what do users think?
Dr. Basheer Sufyan: I made a same day appointment but arrived pretty early. The ladies reluctantly checked me in only to take my information then say my blood pressure was too high to donate. This was a lie to get rid of me. I went to another blood drive location in East Lansing at the people's church and they were so kind and caring. Guess what, my blood pressure was completely normal at the church and I was able to donate a half hour after my original appointment. The shame of all this is they lied about my blood pressure and if I was not a medical provider who keeps a close eye on my health they would have caused me undue stress all because they are understaffed and didn't want me to donate at that time because I arrived early for my appointment. Very disappointing especially when blood donation is always needed. The staff at the 1729 East Saginaw street Lansing Location need to pause and think about how their unscrupulous actions can negatively impact the good people who voluntarily come to donate blood there. In the end I am thankful I was still able to donate whole blood today.
Caitlin W.: Everyone here is always very pleasant. I have tricky veins in my left arm, but several people have come up with ways to use both arms for platelet donations.
Ashley Hawkins: I have come here to donate blood a couple of times so far. The staff are very kind and caring. There’s always good, upbeat music playing and great snacks for after you’re done. Scheduling appointments on the Red Cross app is easy and convenient. They make it easy to donate.
John Doe: With a demand for donations and one patient at the center, how does a walk in get turned away? Like there isn't a shortage
Ana Henriques: Definitely not well organized.Received a call on Wednesday evening to donate blood since there is a severe shortage and as a O+ I can greatly contribute, got scheduled for Saturday at 8h45 AM (today). Drove 15 minutes to get there and arrived at 8h30 to make sure I was on time. The lady at the registration told me they were under staffed and could not take my blood. She was polite, still didn't make up for the fact of making me go there for nothing which could have been avoided with a simple txt or phone call. She asked me to reschedule, well I am not doing it for at least some time as I feel greatly disrespected. I have donated blood in different countries, it's the first time this ever happened.
Amy Bozung: People were friendly and helpful.
Jenna Thompson: I’ve been here at least five times and every time the staff have been so friendly, accommodating and humble. This time was different and frustrating. I had to wait outside for ten to fifteen minutes because the doors were locked (no problem) but no one was there to open them. The suggestion to call didn’t work so I tried knocking. After 15 min I had gotten back in my car and finally called a third time to which someone answered, sounded annoyed, and told me someone would come out. After getting in, I overheard a staffer remark how I was 13 minutes late for my appointment when I had been trying to get in and in fact, was late because of them.Nevertheless, I proceeded to give blood. I normally feel lightheaded for about 5-10 minutes afterwards, and have always laid in the bench no problem. After not 10-15 minutes where I happened to just need a bit longer, the phlebotomist suggested I shouldn’t donate blood if I “get sick” every time. I would have thought they would have appreciated that I know I get that way, and shared it in advance. Other than that one remark, which I believe was told by another unfriendly staffer annoyingly, the phlebotomist was very good.It was the systematic problems that disappointed me and made it an uncomfortable enough of an experience (not including the actual donation) that I would not go back there. I’m willing to feel momentary discomfort to help out others, but it won’t be here.
heather galat: very friendly staff, they seemed very caring if you are feeling light headed after a donation, they take care of you, will come back
Alice Astromech: Horrible wait times, takes on average three hours and that is with an appmt and the rapid pass. The staff is friendly although they often seem to struggle getting my veins.
John Geisler: I scheduled an appointment online to donate at 2 PM. It is a 25 minute drive from home. I walked in the door at 3 minutes after 2 and the woman at the counter told me they were closed. The room was full of people. I asked kindly if she could fit me and and she rudely said no with a snide, “I’m sorry”1 week later I arrived 15 minutes early for a 12:45 appointment and was told it would be at least a 20 minute wait from my appointment time to begin. 3 people behind me in line also had 12:45 appointments and were told that they had to reschedule because they could not get to them. Also while waiting 3 others were turned away. They continue to advertise that there is an urgent need for blood. UNBELIEVABLE!!
James Hatt: They have a good crew working in the platelet donation center
Raynebeau Noir: I really enjoy giving to my community. Because I've given before ARC now gives a pass via the website which makes check in much quicker. I was able to "skip" 2 steps, right to checking my iron level. Also they had run out of shirts downstairs but someone went to their storage upstairs and got me one for donating. The volunteers were really nice and had intriguing conversation as well. It was the best donating experience I've had in a while.
Brandon Tooley: Awesome people
Rissa Park: Everyone is talented so it's a speedy process. Both times I've been there been one snooty chick. Other than that good site. Frequent drives.
Jill Baillargeon: The kindness and professionalism of the staff is superb!
Nathan Harburg: I enjoyed working with their staff!
Bill West: Check in can be very slooow
Thomas Mulnix: Platelets donation. What would we do without those good people!
Gbear G: Great nurses to help donate! Quick and easy, more people need to go donate!!
Linda Bowman: There is a great shortage of donations happening because of winter weather and illnesses keeping volunteers away. The staff is friendly and helpful. Please consider donating today. You never know when one of your loved ones may have a need of life saving blood products.

CSL Plasma: what do users think?
Deerose26: I'm a gold donor I switch from the south to the west and started facing the same problems.I'm a nice polite guy, so beware guys that are similar, these girls will get the wrong idea and complicate your donor experience. I dread coming here.I put it like this I don't feel like taking the high road. These girls are unhappy and desperate and love to share that energy ( they can't get no🍆).I mean I didn't expect them to be politicians but professionals they are not and don't care.No since of professionalism, it's like their doing you a favor for doing a job they Applied for.I pray God fulfill these women 🙏🙏.
Totionna Williams: I been here 4 times and everytime it's take them almost 3-4 hours to get me in the back this is ridiculous this is the worst 1 I have ever been to
Duncan Graham: very VERY BAD SERVICE i donated through you guys for 4 years and i get permanently deferred because someone i brought got flagged for your bad system of false positives. Its been since january she has turned her info in and got cleared, how am i not cleared when i havent had the flag. every time i call i get the runaround im just trying to be cleared so i can sswitch plasma donation services. DO NOT GO HERE DO NOT GO HEREi wish i could do 1 star
Brie VanBennekom: Today was my first time ever going and donating. And granted it was a bit busy. But I was reassured multiple times that others would stop by to make sure I was doing okay, that I was handling everything alright. And that I was feeling good by the end. That was not true. Besides the person who set me up for the poke, no one stopped by. No one checked on me. Though I did see them go to the same patients multiple times to check on them, and converse for a few minutes. When I was finished, no one had asked how I was feeling, nor any small talk. Nor any questions. If they’d asked, they would’ve known I wasn’t feeling all that great, and felt lightheaded. But all I was told was “there’s the exit.”I still plan to donate at this location one more time, but then I’m switching locations. Besides the person who did the poke, the others were very caught up with their “favorite” patients and coworkers.
Paul Moreno: Very slow on the blood draw side have to wait 2 hours just to get drawn.Getting in and screening is quick. Not enough phlebotomist to help draw.
Letrelle Calhoun: There were three worker's trying to bully me. I'll never come back to this location.
Steven Seitz: Not helpful, understaffed, not welcoming. So basically everything you'd expect a plasma center to be.
William Teems: Just need more people working here
Adem Lysogorski: I was called to the side by management for an "incident" the last time I donated. I didn't even remember what he was talking about (he wasn't surprised by this at all) because I made a joke to the tech about "shooting me" with a needle. Basically I was told I shouldn't make jokes like that. Well I think they are too sensitive for a place that literally looks at blood all day. Won't be donating here again. Some of the staff are really nice that's why I didn't give it 1 star.
Nike lastking: Very rude && stuff are really lazy I don't think I'm going back there again
naddia smith: The workers are very rude and lazy and give nothing but an attitude any given chance they get. I recommend going to a different location
Josh Brown: The staff is really friendly. It sucks waiting 20-30 mins for the pre screen and then another 10-15 mins to be called back. I've been here many times and it's always been a 2 to 2 1/2 hours if not 3
Jamir Muhammad: Better than cedar... Oops nevermind... Mistuck deferred... Lost blood not my fault... 10 weeks no money... Thanks again and I hope to see everyone again...
Mandee King: Very nice inside. TV, music and staff on top of their A game. The lines usually very long though, but depends when you go I guess.
Patrick Garton: I went in 05/16/2022 around 9am to donate. There were 2 people that I had interactions with. First walking in I did not see any signs about masks were mandatory. I see everyone "wearing" masks. The staff person that I was talking to first had thier masks down around thier chin. The second person we were getting transferred to had short had on a mask and a face shield. She got on us about not wearing a mask then got on us for not wearing it right. Meanwhile she clearly was more focused on us not "following" not following mask mandates and missed 2 donators and the other staff person standing right next to her. This gal with the gray short hair does not seem professional either. As I was going to be donating for the first time, I was told to go to booth 2. Then it got switched up and I was told that they were not accepting any new donations at the time and to go check cedar. I wish I would have gotten names. It's time the lame mandates to go as the effectiveness is counter productive when they are constantly touched to put them on and take them off.
Megan Feldpausch: Csl is pretty awesome the people that work there are really nice and they love listening to EVERYTHING I have to say ! And thanks Chris for making me smile
Michael: I have been a plasma donor for over 5+ years & today I felt uncomfortable due to the temperature of the building. It was very cold inside of the building on Tuesday while I was donating. The temperature felt like it was in the 50's - 60's which is ridiculous. It felt so much colder indoors than it did outdoors.I had let the person know who stuck me that it was cold & he agreed with me. He then told me that he had already mentioned something about it but nothing was done about it.If they don't correct the temperature on my next donation, I will not be able to donate anymore until the temperature can be adjusted. The thermostat should be set to at least around 70゚ & not below.
fluffy 1: Never more than one person here to check in while 3 sit and do nothing...the staff is just lazy no one will do anything until the line is out the door ridiculous...some how 3 people in a row fail instantly at the big ones booth that's crazy helpful for her to as she said help the line so she is failing to help the line?4 hours to donate that is unbelievable just go some where else
J: Pretty great place! Sometimes a little busy due to staff shortage, but they work hard and are super polite and professional!
Sarah Wright: The wait was long but bearable...staff was pleasant and courteous...You will need to wear a mask but at least they will provide you with one if you forget yours.😷😷😷
April Kelly: Great experience donating. Friendly professional staff. Clean facility.

CSL Plasma: what do users think?
Caitie Biggs: They're constantly refusing to use the correct cuff for my arm & I get deferred because they use to large of a cuff & give an inaccurate reading. Every time they switch the cuff the issue is resolved. But every time I try to explain this it's a constant argument, same with when I need a senior for small veins, the newer employees never want to allow you to speak to who you need to speak to.
Tina Case: It became pretty cool there if you get the right days
Olivia Roose: In the span of four days, they managed to blow a vein in both my left and right arm. For my left arm, they even discussed how they thought it was going to blow, yet they did it anyway ??? Didn’t even ask me if I still wanted to continue donating, they just went ahead and did it. Make it make sense. Thank you for the nasty damage to my arm. They also wrapped my arm horribly the second time, I had blood running down my arm in the grocery store afterwards.
Regan Janetzke: Friendly and helpful staff!
Kev Tubz: They were very friendly and very helpful there any plasma place in Lansing
Jamie Mosley: I love this location. Yes, it can be very slow depending on when you go. But I know this ahead and plan on being there for a while. Staff is very, very friendly.
Amber Van Vleet: Staff is amazing. They are so friendly and helpful
Keanna Sump: Definitely a great place to donate, had a couple of times where they didn’t put the needle deep enough, and it popped out of my arm while the machine was returning my red blood cells, made a little mess lol. They pay is decent at first until after the 8 or 10th time, when they pay you about 35 dollars and then it’s just not worth the one hour of sitting plus however it takes to make it thru the line.
Deerose26: The ladies there are miserable and love sharing that energy, if you like being discriminated against for unknown reasons this is the place for you.I've been coming to this place for a while because it's an honorable cause, and I was trying to hold back judgement but I'm not excusing adults who behave in this manor. If they feel slighted they will hold grudges against you and I don't even know why. You'll be ostracized by the workers and it's just a toxic environment. Beware.I feel sorry for the 1 out of 5 workers there who are professional and sensible. I feel bad that I have to write this review.
Zechariah Rudnicki: Nice clean facility. Wait times can be a bit long at times. I've never had any issues when going
Ahmadou Alain Mbow (BEAUTY): The stuff are professional and amazing 🤩
Sabrina Kruger: This is my least favorite CSL center but after last night's visit, I won't be back. I didn't like that they don't gauze wrap your arm after, but when I started bleeding all over the bathroom last time, staff didn't care at all. I was sent to the sink to deal with it by myself while that employee continued stocking. I sat for about 10 minutes to make sure I was OK, because I was too light headed to stand. While I sat I had time to notice how dirty the floor was, with visible dirt, hair, gauze, cotton balls and bandaid wrappers. The next staff member I approached was actually human and helped me get cleaned up. I get the feeling this center needs some corporate attention. Staff shouldn't be too busy or tired to tend to actively bleeding patients or sweep the floor, and for the love of Pete, get them gauze! Risking bleedouts seems a much higher cost than gauze rolls.
Joshua Carpenter: 2 years later many of the same problems unfortunately. The lines are absolutely horrendous.2 hour long lines just to get your finger stuck and then you have to wait in line again to get called back for a bed and then wait for somebody to poke your arm and hope they don't screw it up cuz then you can't come back.I don't have any complaints about the people that work there, they're awesome they do a good job for the most part but clearly who's ever managing this location isn't doing a good jobEmployee turnover rate people not showing up for work meanwhile there are other locations that see just as many people but have a 10 minute wait come on now
Cameo Brumley: Unprofessional
Mandee King: They have a great staff but are overworked. I donate regularly here. The staff is always upbeat and nice. I have big veins that roll and they never had issues with them missing or having to repoke.
Abraham Harris: First time donor here. When I first went there, I was pretty anxious and a little scared. But, the staff went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and safe; and the whole process went by without any problems. I'll definitely be coming back again.
Neshia Smith: Very very slow . Only pokes about two people within 40 minutes, does not care if anyone else has anything else to do . If you come here plan on spending 5 hours here because they don’t care or low staffed but they been slow for years I thought they would have gotten better consider a plasma shortage but nope . Slowest place in Lansing . Irritates me everytime I gotta get up at 6am just to get out at a decent time
DD: Staff for the most part are great. But upper management are selfish. I am platinum level here which does nothing, The ATM doesn’t charge a fee but the credit card company does. The fees charged over a year are like donating twice or more for free.
Will Gregg: Overall the staff is professional and friendly. The lines are hit or miss. The closer to late afternoon their closing time the longer the lines seem to be
Crystal Barrett: Staff is Always So Helpful! Especially Melissa Wiley (so sorry if I spelled it wrong) Ms.G, Royce Your a Tech Legend and I'll Be Adding Names The More I Go These Workers Are So Wonderful And Informative Thank You So Much for All The Help!!
