Big shout out to Larry, Sam, and the bearded red headed gentleman whose name I have forgotten. They are superb. Great prices, friendly atmosphere, and a wide selection of products to suit your hobbies. If you’re in the area, drop in to say hey and crack some packs.

Kyle Recker: Great place to play TCGs. I see mostly Magic, Pokemon, and Yugioh being played. They have board games, sealed tcg products, and singles.

Eric Brockway (Bruke): They have a small selection of board games and ttrpgs. They have a good space for public gaming, including many pieces of 3D terrain. Miniatures skirmish games seems to be their focus and their selection supports that flavor of gaming quite well.

Michelle Biggs: Lots of fun to meet new people and the tables for different games are one of the main reasons for coming. Generally supplies needed are around and if they aren't the staff is open to orders. Wonderful place all around. Bathrooms can definitely be cleaner though... yuck.

Board game and wargaming/D&D selection not as large as Summit downtown but still decent. Patrons usually welcoming and there is a public board available to post on by the front door if you're looking for a group.

Nick Hyatt: AFK Games is a great example of what a FLGS (friendly local game store) should be. The store caters to physical games rather than digital games, so along the lines of Warhammer, Magic, board games and RPG games of all kinds. There's a good selection of merchandise, but more importantly the community is what makes the store a fun place to hang out, rather than just shop. There are different games run every night of the week, with regular events on weekends (tournaments and such). The staff is friendly, and the clientele is welcoming.

The owner has worked extremely hard for the last year to make AFK games a wonderful place for the community. Go check it out. Highly recommend.

Employees are friendly and helpful should you have any questions. Next to the store, they have a large area with tables for gaming.

It will naturally draw comparisons to the shop down in Lansing, but having a shop available nearby with attached gaming space and better parking makes this a clear win for Okemos gamers. Friendly staff and tidy arrangement make it easy to find the things you want -- or didn't know you wanted.The only shortcomings worth noting are a focus on mainstream RPGs (D&D still makes money, so it's not a bad business decision for them) and a lack of clear pricing on dice and dice-related accessories up at the front.

Dave Rogers: Nice selection of games and game-related merchandise. Very friendly and helpful staff. Their game room looks awesome and the gaming group I manage will be gaming there on the first and third Saturdays starting at 2PM. We're looking forward to it!
