Archives Book Shop: what do users think?
Cody Cox: I ordered some Ian Fleming novels from Ray over the phone. Great guy! He's fair at pricing and mailed them to me well-wrapped and protected from moisture. If I'm ever in the neighborhood, I'll definitely be stopping by. Thanks Ray!
Nola Warner: This store is a piece of East Lansing's history. It is valuable to our area in so many ways. Staff here are friendly and helpful. This business deserves your company, and you won't regret your visit.
Island Ewert: Really cool spot for historical reads.
G: I love stopping in to Archive books, I always find at least 6 books I need. Its exactly what a good used bookstore should be.
Andreas Overmyer: Charming used bookstore. Owner tells interesting stories
Elena G.: Amazing selection of classic and unique books .
Amy Klaes: I had a hard time navigating the store as there were stacks of books everywhere. Seems like a neat place if you can handle small spaces. The person working was very friendly, and it did have an ambience that felt like I was somewhere hidden.
Bruce Bower: The store is overflowing but with patience you will find treasures. Worth the trip and parking is easy. Life slows down while inside.
Pamela Parker: This is my daughter's favorite bookstore! She spends hours there and we never leave empty-handed.
Robert Hunter: very lovely bookstore :) and the person at the front desk was perfectly kind and helpful
Brian Caruthers: Gun free store. Unsafe
Chris Myers (Spidey): Wide variety of mostly vintage/antique books. Everything is reasonably priced (not a place to go if you’re looking to resell). Great selection of antique childrens books and even a small section of antique board games. Only complaint is that there was a bit of clutter of books throughout the store. The owner was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend for any book lover.
Sara Walters: Not for someone who doesn't due well in closed spaces. Books are arranged. Nice place for any book collector.
Katie Osborn: This place is so awesome, especially the staff. Never have I ever walked into a used bookstore packed full of amazing old books and not seen or smelled dust!!! This place really rocks.
Brian Morofsky: I came in to have a couple of books looked at. The owner had so much Knowledge on what i brought to him, it amazed me. I would Recommend this establishment to anyone looking to buy or sell old and Rare books..
Alex Freeman: Wonderful and beautiful bookshop! Great collection of books and good prices, and the owner is so kind.
Tammy Allen: One unique Archive Bookshop. Lots of History here too. The Owner & Saleslady are Awesome People. Very friendly & great Customer Service always given to each of their Customers. This little Nook Place is pretty cool . You can get Lost in the World of Books & Literature. It's Amazing how many Famous Author written Books are here. And lots of Historical Books & Literature & Materials & Maps & Magazines, etc. I believe The Owner of this Archive Bookshop in MSU Territory & in Lansing Our Michigan Capital City is Owned by a very nice Man named Larry. He is Passionate about Books & loves his Store. And he is so, dedicated & is a great Person that loves to see likewise Book Worms & Nerds & Passionate Literature Lovers who love Books & Literature & Cant live without it. His Lady Assisant is very awesome too & very Passionate & Dedicated to her Job too. And is always ready to help Others.
Kylie Chicilli: Super sweet staff, My friends and I all found multiple books to take home!! Amazing prices. Super great environment. Will be back. Great for any type of reader. I don’t leave reviews often!! Check out this place.
Eric South: Lot's of cool old books and sundries.
Ethan Watrall: Great antiquarian bookshop. A little cramped and crowded....which, in many ways, is the hallmark of a good antiquarian bookahop
David Wells: Got everything you want old new classics something for everyone thanx ray

Curious Book Shop: what do users think?
Got 0 Jams: Nice store, good book smells
Rebecca Coldstream: Over the moon about this place. Found my dream book here today, and I wish I had had time to check out the top floor. The service I received from the employee there today was wonderful. Extremely friendly, and patient with me lol.You WILL find something you want buy here. Great pulp selection, vintage magazines, old cookbooks, craft, art books, technical books, birding, etc. Decent organization, some subjects needs a little digging as things seem to get misplaced by other customers. You end up discovering more books that way though. They even have unsorted banker boxes of books on the floor, also worth looking through!!Unfortunately the only drawback is that they are not wheelchair handicap accessible. They have three floors and are *cramped* with books. I imagine that the employees there will help you for something specific, but it just doesn’t make for good browsing. They also seem to have a sister store, called the Archives?
Island Ewert: Great small bookshop on campus. Truly a monument in the community. Support local bookshops!
Great Lakes Narwhal Michelle Erskine: Lots of gently used books to choose from also new books
Amanda Walters: Book shop on msu campus with no parking but the ramp a block away. Lots of romance and fiction. Old medical books, encyclopedias. Very tightly packed, run down and dirty. Books have mildew on them. This would never be my go to. We're out as a family and thought we would stop in. It was a Sunday so the Ramos were open and we didn't have to pay to park which really was the best part about the whole experience.
Kent Nessa: Since moving to the area in 2014, I've been on the hunt for bookshops of any kind. Sure, your booksellers that get all the latest titles and whatnot are good, but having a bookshop that has books you're not going to find anywhere else (due to being out of print and times having changed for certain types of literature) is what I was really wanting. When I discovered Curious Book Shop, I was hooked! I love the building, the organization, everything about it! The smell of the books is something I enjoy immensely as well as browsing in some of my favorite categories in the hopes of finding an obscure title.I probably have spent several hundred dollars there already and will be more than happy to continue to patronage the shop. I've been able to find numerous titles to add to my book collection and to also continue reading some of my favorite authors and series due to the fact some publishers no longer print certain books of some authors, including popular/well known authors like Robert Heinlein. One of my other favorite things about the shop is the fact they have a section of movie novelizations. As a fan of the genre, being able to track down hard-to-find and long-lost titles has been a treat. My kids enjoy going to the shop as well. When I showed them the children's section, they get excited and always pick out a few books when they visit the shop with me. It's turned into a bit of a thing I do with my kids from time to time.I can't say enough good things about this shop. If you're a bibliophile, you must visit them! Or if you're a fan of a particular author, series, genre you have to visit them. I'm sure you'll find something unique or that you've been seeking for a long time.
Madison Roberts: A must see in East Lansing if you’re a book lover!
Autumn Romig: I donated to their fundraiser during the pandemic. I asked them for only one or two books for my son who is a voracious reader and a list of other books he might like. I included a bit about him, his reading level and what interested him. They sent me a package with two books and a list of 12 books they thought my son would like and why. They also included a note as to why they thought he would like the books they included. The care and service with which they treat their customers is amazing. We love this store.
Andrea Fontana: My favorite used bookstore in the area. I love to visit and escape into the magic of the bookshelves. It’s like treasure hunting!
Mark Brandt: This book shop is perfectly organized. It is organized enough that you can find things, but disorganized enough that you feel like you are finding a lost treasure. Plus, the books have words in them; a real treat.
Adam Sellers: This place is awesome. The prices are great and the atmosphere is amazing. I get lost looking at all the books for hours.
IRK GrandRapids: It's literally wall to wall, floor to ceiling full of books, a total paradise for book lovers. If you're willing to take the time you can find some VERY rare books here. I've picked up tons of first edition books here for competitive pricing. I always stop by when in town.
Emily Thompson: PLEASE VISIT THIS BOOK SHOP. It's the perfect book shop for people who like books, because they have a TON OF BOOKS.I go in every time I'm in the area, even when I wasn't intending to. It's very TARDIS-like (bigger on the inside).I have purchased many a fantasy/sci-fi book from here - some I was looking for, and some I just picked up because they looked interesting and why not?It has stacks of bookshelves with old books - also know as, the best smell in the world.Do yourself a favor and just go in!
Steven King: I would stop here from time to time when I lived in the area, looking for Beat and counterculture books. One day the clerk saw me eyeballing that section and offered me a signed copy of Allen Ginsberg's Cosmopolitan Greetings. It's a beautiful signature with a large sunflower illustration. Anyway, I was in my twenties and didn't know any better but it's a real signature and they gave it to me for a good price.
Ethan Watrall: Great used bookstore
drafe007: first time i ventured into curious. mind was quite blown. overwhelming. do they still have them old star wars trading cards on the second floor?
RLB Hartmann: My book arrived today and I am THRILLED at the professional packaging and the superb condition as described. If there were 6 stars, I'd rate Curious Book Shop with another one.
Liz M: It's been months since I moved from East Lansing and I miss this place dearly. I could always find clean books for a good price here. And the smell of old books is awesome. Despite my new city, I'm still rocking my Curious Book Shop tee!
blackhawk81: The man who owns this shop is very kind and always thrilled to talk about Hemingway. :)
Wendy Casby: So many books and good prices... I could get lost in the stacks for hours exploring...
Nathan LaFollette: This isn't a bookstore, it's an adventure

Barnes & Noble: what do users think?
Farah Siddiqi: Perfect and cozy book store 📕📗📘📙📖📚you can just sit and relax with some coffee and snacks just like library and membership saves you a lot on each and every thing
Pat Carlisle: My experience at Barnes and Noble was great. The clerks were very helpful and very pleasant.
Katie Brosnan: Not wheelchair accessible. Their front door does not have a handicap door opener on either of their front doors. Many of the tables in the entrance and in the aisle made it so I could not get through because they were too close together. They also left book racks with books to be shelved at the end caps which were around very difficult to move around.
Catherine Lindley: I simply walked PAST Barnes and Noble. I did not go inside. I was walking in the mall for exercise. (I do love Barnes and Noble, tho)
Larry Colman: Love to place
AM V: WoW, I mean, WoW
Nancy Fedewa: Bought a gorgeous pregnancy book
Kathy Kreimer: Best rest room in the mall closet to the bus entry
Dean Bliss: Love it
Eric Brockway (Bruke): Staff was helpful. Had to return a book and they made the process quick and painless.
Erik Owens: Very helpful staff. I needed a Spanish dictionary because l was traveling to Puerto Rico for work the next day. And the older gentleman led me right to it because they weren’t located with the English dictionaries.
Lars Lentz: Nice store with friendly helpful staff!
Shana Faust: I went into the Saginaw location yesterday around 12:30 and grabbed my usual hot latte with almond milk. My partner got a hot chai with extra flavor and caramel. Nothing out of the ordinary - EXCEPT, for how we were individually treated. The man helping us was very knowledgeable, kind, and considerate while giving my partner feedback on the points system and was incredibly helpful. Until it was my turn. With it being 2023, I am so beyond disappointed at the blatant disrespect. Not once did he make eye contact with me. His well worded sentences quickly became mumbled after he was done helping her and more specifically when he asked, “anything else for you?” because I had yet to order .. and eventually at one point simply ignored me when I asked for a cup of water (although he did provide it, just without any acknowledgment to me, just set it on the counter wordlessly). Lastly, I noticed he filled my cup with water to make my latte. I have been a barista at multiple places and I have never once seen a latte be made with water unless asked for, which I did not, and come to find out after we walked away, my drink tasted watered down. (We were the only ones in line so it was not anyone else’s drink). I am a very openly gay, Native American woman, with a variety of tattoos and a “masculine” appearance. To say my partner and I look different is a very subtle way of putting it - but to be treated differently because of it is something I am shocked by and will absolutely not be a customer again if this man is working. We are better than this. I love B&N, as well as Starbucks, but I do not appreciate being treated this way and will not be coming back anytime soon and will let my LGBTQIA+ friends know this as well.
Bonnie Robinson: Love this bookstore. I could spend hours just browsing.
Dennis Lardie: They carried a religious book that I could not find anywhere else in town
Richard Pritchard: Great services and products
Heidi Lamb: The store employees above and beyond in every way! Even if I have no idea what I'm looking for to read they are always next level at helping me navigate and make the right choice. I enjoy the store itself but they make the experience that much better! :)
Jonah: Great store! Has a Starbucks.
Alex Ellis: Huge selection to choose from, across all genres. A little over priced without their membership, but overall a good bookstore.
Carey: What greeted and happily waited on by an extremely polite young lady in the early morning. Wish I would've gotten her name. She deserves acknowledgement for her confidence and contagious acts of kindness. I would most definitely recommend this Barnes and Noble establishment!! Must add not only the organization but cleanliness!!! Impressed, definitely highly recommended, and I MOST DEFINITELY WILL BE A RETURNING CUSTOMER!!! THE PROOF IS ALWAYS IN THE PUDDING. PERIOD
Toni Glassco E: Took the grandkids to browse and choose a book. They enjo5i5m

Student Book Store: what do users think?
Got 0 Jams: Nice bookstore
Rylen Pierce: literally had someone watching me and my friend while we were shopping. It made me really uneasy because all we were doing was looking at clothes.. if you are that worried about it at least try not to make it obvious that you are watching us. It made me want to leave and not buy anything so thats what I did.
Rich Basher: Good selection. Handled large crowd well.
Alexander Wong: They gave me my books I needed for college
Jennifer Sochor: Got MSU baby outfits. So cute for grand-daughter 16 months old.

Christopher Paplin: Ripping off students!
Kris Shannon: It's a beautiful dorm in the prettiest part of campus. The cafeteria is very quarky and nice. You feel a little bit like you're in a Harry Potter movie, and the food is very good. Because it's not one of the bigger dorms I think they can give more attention more attention to the fare.

Stacey Yarnold: Had a lovely visit to Deadtime Stories: True Crime and Other Books, the shop had a really amazing layout, a great selection of book, gifts and ice cream. Even a cute cat! The staff were all friendly and very helpful, can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend if you are looking for some books or gifts!

Mindy Gorter: Drove all the way to Lansing from Muskegon today, just to visit the store. I was not disappointed. The lady running the store was very knowledgeable, and treated us very well. She even recommended other book stores for us to try when we were there. Will go back as soon as I need more books to read!
Kimberly Stanbridge: I have visited many times and it has been a fun and unique experience each time! The owner is great with rotating stock and offering new books regularly! She also keeps in-touch with what customers want. This is my go-to place when I have an out-of-town visitor. Not only is this place unique to Lansing, it's unique to the universe! Monica Slone: I FINALLY was able to stop in this shop today for the first time and I am in love. Awesome gift idea shop. I can't wait for Xmas next year now!!!!
Jennifer Hatt: Love this little shop! Great book selection
Steven Glynn: A must for true-crime lovers. The book selection is well curated and the selection ranges from local stories to national cases. There seems to be a good mix of stories about murder, paranormal, and more. I believe there is also a non-fiction section. The gift selection is great as well with additional things like t-shirts, candy, toys, and more.10/10 would recommend to a friend.

Everybody Reads LLC: what do users think?
Jon Casey: Really fun place
Jeremiah Z: Great little shop! I live in the St Louis area and was told about this place. My daughter's enjoyed the products and they had a very nice selection. Will visit again!
Rina Risper: Everybody Reads has a lot of books than other bookstores. There are one on the only places where you can get postcards. They also have a used book section and the new books are fantastic! The owner Scott is also very community oriented and makes you feel welcome.
Michael Vader Misner: Great place.
K S: Poor service. Spent 2 hours going through their boxes of back issue comics, got to the counter and they priced them on NM MyComicShop.com pricing. Tried to charge us almost $200 for maybe $20 worth of dollar bin reader copy books that were no where near NM condition, put most all of them back and left with only 2 books. We will never go back!
Aaliyah Haqqi: Everybody Reads LLC and Triple Goddess are 2 in 1, I have been here alot in the past 4.5 years to buy books, and donate books and they have great decorations also. It's a great atmosphere, everyone is very friendly, the people and the books are what keeps me coming back
Clayton Williams: Always a great treasure finding experience with wonderful people!
Man Of Margarin: I can’t stand it when stores don’t honor the price they have on their comic books, as soon as you take it to the counter they look it up on eBay and up the price on you. Not to mention they price it in good condition when it’s not in good condition.
T Crawford Martin: Great atmosphere, affordable prices, and a wonderful children's sections covering a wide variety of topics for little ones!
Michael Purcell: A nice place for new/used and modern/vintage literature.
Sarah Paul: Great place. Warm people. Love the scents from the incense shop attached. Great selection of used books at great prices.
Dave Stickles: Have all the new comics and lot of old ones.
Jim LeMay: Very little comic knowledge by most the employees. Was told a few days by the employee that they grade most the comics as midgrade so they over charge on comics. Some comics have grades on comics but cgc would probably give them half the score. They have no problem changing the price from marked price infront of customer and not honoring price. Very little new weekly comics on hand. The organization of the comics are by first letter so you go throw multiple boxes finding the same comic in different boxes and hoping to find what your looking for but the employees are normally sitting at counter so it's can be noted that they aren't going to try to put more organization into it. It's non-profit but they try to get max dollar for everything. It's a shame that there is only three comic shops in Lansing. If your not shopping at Summit comics, you have to travel to metro-detroit or Muskegon for a decent shop.
Yeisha Beasley: It has a lot of great stuff, it smells really good, you can sit and have a cup of coffee and read. It's just great.
Sean Douglass: Great place, wonderful people running it! We're lucky to have this kind of place in the neighborhood.
Marc Thomas: Wonderful place!
Daniel Dillinger: Great place for community.
Melissa Blood: Love this place!!
Anji Spialek: Look, I love bookstores and did find a book to purchase. Lots of interesting bumper stickers. But it smelled horrible in there. The incense they burn is not enough to cover up the nasty smell...
Brandon Murphy: Awesome place with cool atmosphere
Katy Kelly: Great place, great atmosphere, awesome staff

Book Burrow: what do users think?
Ashley Faye: Cute environment and idea☺️ but $7 for a USED book is outrageous. When I could go to Walmart for the same book and pay the same price for a new copy
Lexa Bell: The Book Burrow is a marvelous place to find books! Located in the basement of the downtown Lansing library, they have lots of selections at very cheap prices. DVDs, too. Check online for their hours.
Crispy Tha Black: A nice little Burrow of books with plenty of hidden gems to find for very cheap prices. There are a lot of antiquarian books as well as used former library books. There are also books in almost new condition. Nice little place for the bibliophile.
Lucy Blythe: They have an amazing selection of books!
Cindy Welch: Lots of books, friendly, helpful staff, good prices. A hidden gem.
Jeffrey Farell: Wonderful little gem tucked away in the basement of the main branch of Lansing's library. Very well maintained by helpful, friendly staff. Become a "Friend of the library" and receive a significant discount on already low prices.
Christina Poynter: Very large selection of used books, organized by genre so it's easy to peruse.
Natalie VanDusen: Decent selection, but the layout is slightly awkward. More open space would be easier to navigate.
Baine L: I always enjoy chatting with the employees about my purchases! Very amiable staff, and an excellent selection of books. I highly recommend it!
James Herbert: The staff is awesome
Timothy Vincent: Always find something great here. And the people are top notch.
DBplus1: Got some manga
Jason Gabriel: Love to find some future great reads just casually hanging out in the shelf.
UNSTOPPABLE P: Love this place!

Leticia Wills: If you haven’t checked out Socialight Society yet, let me say ITS A MUST!!! It’s a whole vibe! There are so many books to choose from, so I asked NyShell if she could suggest something based on what I like and she graciously did so with that beautiful smile that lights up a room. Thank you Nyshell, I’m enjoying my book!❤️
Kisha DeMyers: When I entered I felt as if I belonged!! I asked Nyshell for a title that would speak to me and she hit the ball out of the park with her suggestion. Thank you Socialight for this space and for seeing me.
KYLEE CARTER: Socialight Society is a beautiful, niche, black woman owned bookstore that I am delighted to have come across! The inventory is superb, so many options whether you are looking for baby books, something grown and sexy, motivational, poetry, or an educational autobiography. Socialight’s got it all. This is my new favorite bookshop in Lansing and I hope you all take the time to make your way downtown to partake in the black girl magic happening in our city!
